First, this restaurant is in a strip mall next to a nightclub and piercing studio. Once you get past that, the restaurant is nice, service was impeccable, good veal parmigiana and delicious tiramisu. I think this is the best place in Itasca, so go. Just remember, the location brings it down a star. read more

Great Italian food we ordered for take out once. We got mussels in marinara sauce, grilled calamari, linguine with seafood & chicken dish.

I've driven past this restaurant seven zillion times and never even noticed it was there. The outside is completely unassuming - dare I say, boring - and there are plenty of Italian restaurants in our rotation, so I wouldn't have even bothered to venture to a new one if our friends hadn't asked us to dine with them there a few weeks ago. And we would have been forever missing out. This is one of those weird reviews where the decor, the ambiance, the price, none of that really mattered. Because the food. Is so. Good. So good. The interior is fine. The lack of a wait on a Friday at 7 was phenomenal. Our server was perfectly charming (and described every menu item in such rich detail that I wanted it all!). We began with an appetizer special - fresh buffalo mozzarella with thick, fresh tomato slices, shredded basil, kalamata olives, and good olive oil. It was the perfect caprese salad, I could have eaten six more portions of that incredible mozz. For the main, I went with the gnocchi pasta, with sage and butter sauce, and sausage. It sounds so simple, but sometimes simple is easiest to screw up. This was incredible. The gnocchi was fresh, the portion was ample, and the texture was al dente, almost chewy, perfection. The sage was fresh and flavorful, the rich butter sauce was decadent, and the sausage was savory and plentiful. It was so easy but so sophisticated. Comforting but elegant. It's tough to describe how well curated this plate of pasta was, but it was delicious. If you're looking for authentic, rich, comforting, fantastic food in a quiet and simple atmosphere, take a chance on those anonymous looking, easy to pass up little corner restaurant. Don't bother. Had dinner tonight and the place has definitely seen better days. Our snooty waiter acted like he was in a five star upscale restaurant in the city. My husband and I both dined at this restaurant a while ago. We actually did like the food and the service as well. We thought what a really cute place this is and that we would return soon for another great dinner. However, when we left, we ran into the owner. The owner, who is of Italian (northern) descent, made it clear that he did not Italians from the South; as my husband and I are both Sicilian descent. Ordered a huge lunch to go off a menu online. When I got there to pay the check had different items and prices. When I inquired if there was a mix up the lady stated " I don't have those things on the menu so I had to make them up". Then I showed her the menu and the prices and she then stated "I don't know why that is but these are the prices". She became very defensive and flustered and told me " calm down". The difference in price was maybe 5 or 6 dollars (I had about a $60 meal). I asked if she could use the price advertised on the menu, she said "no" and gave me a full refund and took the food back. read more

Parking is hard to find. The food was very bland. Hospital food would have been a step up from the food I received. My mother odered the pork chop special and it was not marinated. It was very tuff. They brought my salad with balsonic vinegar. No one even asked me what type of dressing I preferred. My daughter (12) had spagetti and meat balls. Again the meatballs have no flavor. Had a wonderful dinner last night with fellow employees! I had the Grouper special and it was delicious. The owner greeted and seated us as well as checking in during dinner. Mario our server recommended the grilled calamari-amazing! I will never it fried again! Other dinners included the spinach ravioli, lemon chicken and veal. I read reviews on this place from another website, I believe it was metromix.com, and a few people said that the food was amazing, etc. I tried this place and did not care for anything. The menu selection is VERY limited and it's a bit pricey. I odered mushroom risotto, it came out late, undercooked and wasn't really that good. I don't think I'd ever go back here again. read more

DeMarco's Restaurant has the best authentic Italian cuisine in the greater Chicago-land area. Their pasta is superb, their menu has a wide variety of wonderful authentic dishes. The owner and the staff are very friendly and eager to please. DeMarco's is our restaurant of choice. Were I to go on Check Please, DeMarco's would be my selection. I come all the way out from Plainfield to go to this restaurant on special occasions. It's a real Italian place, not frozen or made from a recipe (at least that is what it tastes like). They always have unique specials, the meals are complete with appetizer and dessert, they have authentic Italian speaking waiters, and to top it off- a full service bar; what more could you ask for? The food is fresh and delicious, the place is classy, and I have a great time :D read more

My wife and I have been go here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Their wait staff is always knowledgeable of the menu and their great specials along with attentive service. When the owner is there he always greets us and remembers us with a welcoming handshake. Great place for Italian cuisine and the family. Very accommodating for a large group also. read more

After seeing this resturant on tv I had to give it a try. I had the scaloppini con funghi, I thought it was excellen. The drinks were delicous and came quick. I have been to DeMarcos's many times, but tonight was my last night ever spending a dime in there. Don't get me wrong, the food is great; but this evening I was appalled by what went on. I had a server named Alfredo, you would think everything would be great seeing as he is named after a typical dish served in their restaurant, but I probably wouldn't had received any service if it weren't for 3 bus boys doing all of his work for him. Then I see young female server waiting on a large group with many children sitting at the table; she had her arms full of dirty plates because the bus boys were too busy helping my server, and the owner (a female) practically knocks her over to go into the bar (which later I see her sipping on a cocktail). This is not the first time I have been in there and see the owners drinking while the restaurant is full; not to mention heard foul language coming out of the female owner's mouth. If she acts that way in front of customers I can only imagine how she is behind doors with the employees. The food there is excellent but the whole experience was ruined due to management. I am sooooo disappointed! I have not been here for years. Decided to go with my boy friend tonight. First thing when walking thru the door - SMOKE. Somebody there smokes heavily - obviously in the back or after hours or something. But it is awful and I should have walked out right then. I had forgotten that one of the things I did not like about this place was the sun directly in my eyes. I should have changed sides on the table - my bad. The waitress made an attempt at closing the curtains, but left the open enough for the sun to be straight in my eyes anyway and she didn't even check. I ordered off the specials - Gnocci with Osso Bucco. Big mistake. Tons of gnocci on my plate and just about one tablespoon of fatty pieces of meat. Seriously. My boyfriend wanted sausage and peppers, which they only have on the appetizers, so the made it a little bigger and served it. I tasted the sausage, I tho't it was awful. He said he liked it. I would not have been able to eat it if it was what I ordered. I didn't eat my food anyway. Oh yeah, we sat by a wall, it was filthy and the curtains looked like they had been hanging over the windows for maybe 50 years. read more
