The bus was very nice and our driver/guide was great - she was very talkative and told us so much about the park, wildlife, and nature. She also did a great job spotting all the wildlife and taking plenty of time to allow us to watch the highlights, including bears, moose, birds, and the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately there's an early turn-around point due to a bridge that is being replaced, but we still felt that we got to see more than enough. Highly recommend.

I bit pricey for mainlanders, tho all of Alaska carries a healthy price tag. Beds were nice, shower had fast hot water. Tho there is NO A/C in the rooms. Your cool air will come from outside.

We stayed in a room where the height of the carpeting impeded the easy operation of the door. The bed was too large for the size of the room so there was no place for a nightstand to place your glasses or a bottle of water. There was very poor connectivity in the room. The room lighting was poor restricting reading and other activities to a small area near the window. Also, the interior of the venue was not traveler friendly. There were too many stairs to access bedrooms which required carrying your luggage to your room or pulling your roller bags up sets of stairs. The bottom landing of the main floor staircase was not flush with the floor which required visitors to step over the landing (think safety issue). The breakfast was mediocre at best. The proprietor (the father) had a smug and condescending style of communication. The first morning I was there, I awoke early and sat in the living room area working on a crossword puzzle. I peered outside and saw the proprietor urinate on a tree in the yard when he was letting the three dogs (one yappy and unfriendly) out for their morning business. He next appeared in the kitchen to start preparations for breakfast. Did he wash his hands? Needless to say, I only ate items prepared by his son Bart who was very personable.

Our vacation depended on the car since we were also planning to go to Denali National Park as part of our vacation. When we called our hotel in Denali for suggestions, they said there is a taxi shuttle service that is able to drive us around the area. The recommended Denali Taxi Shuttle, a company owned and operated by a husband and wife duo, Mike and Sumariam. I called them from Anchorage and set up our pick up times. Sumariam, whom answered the phone, was very lovely to talk to and had many good suggestions. In fact, she even told us about a restaurant that gave cheaper shuttle rides if we did not mind walking a little. The price they charged for each ride was decent ($35 for a trip from our hotel in Healy to the park), but beggars cannot be choosers. The cost per ride is also clearly posted on their website. On each ride, Mike and Sumariam were very courteous and had a lot to talk about life regarding the area. They were also very punctual and even early for all the pick up time. When I came home, I noticed a discrepancy in my credit card statement. We had 4 rides at a total cost of $140, but we were charged $180. I called Sumariam and she took care of the problem right away and refunded the $40 immediately. Great service from great people. TIP: Know what time you need the ride and give them a call a day or two beforehand. Unlike regular taxis, they do not drive around looking for passengers. It is all prearranged.

After a cruise, we motor coached to Fairbanks after one night at Princess Denali. After a few days…read morethere we wanted to return to Denali Park. Very few options and $400+ nightly minimum. The Totem Inn was half that. Less than 20 minutes from park entrance. Not luxurious, but newly updated and very, very clean. As nice as our Princess Denali room (maybe cleaner). Microwave and micro refrigerator in room. Small pool, fitness room, and sauna (none of which we used). All looked never used. Included breakfast was basic but decent with scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast, coffee, tea, juices (juices not great, but for the price more than adequate). I can't recommend highly enough. If travel plans were just to visit Denali Park, I would fly to Fairbanks, rent a car, drive 2.5 hours here and spend several nights. The price of this place and a car would be less than just lodging elsewhere, and you would have a car to explore on your own, which we did. (One day in Fairbanks is probably enough. There's really not all that much to do. The cruises just get you there so you can fly out.)

I was quoted a price that was acceptable to me. This area doesn't have taxi or Uber options that I was aware of so I used this companies services. I was texted a weblink to pay for the ride as cash was not accepted. The link was easy to use I just entered my credit card information. The driver called me when he arrived at my hotel so that I didn't have to stand outside in the rain to wait for him. He was a safe driver that got me to my destination in a timely manner. I'd definitely recommend this company.

I booked a Jeep Self-Drive tour through Viator. I will say that when I realized I booked the wrong…read moreday, they worked with me to correct the date of our rentals. I received a call the night before and was told that our group would be picked up in front of Denali Cabins at 7:40 am. Our group of 6 was waiting in front of the cabins at 7:30 waiting. I missed a call from the main number at 7:46 am. When I returned the number at 7:48, I was told that the driver had come by to pick us up and no one was out there so he left. I was talking with Hunter. He apologized and said he would come and pick us up because his driver had already moved on. Thirty minutes later Hunter pulled up in his van, surprised that there were 6 of us and explained that we would not all fit in one Jeep. Well, I had booked 2 jeeps, when the date was changed, they also changed the prepaid reservation to 1 jeep. Hunter reviewed my account realized that I was correct. They had two jeeps available. We were sent on some backroads with pretty scenery with very little direction, but at least we were on our own. We had agreed with Hunter that instead of us getting a ride back to the cabins where we stayed (a 15 min drive) that they would take us straight to the train station to save time. Once we were ready to go back to the train station we called and waited for over an hour. I called the main number again and spoke with Hunter. He said "Hmm I don't know where my driver is, I thought he had already picked you up. I will come get you". Once again, Hunter came to get us. There is a temporary building where we dropped off the car with no one inside. So, either his driver lied twice, or Hunter was covering for him. The cars themselves were so dirty that Hunter used a squeegee to try to clean the windows. The back-up cameras could not be used because of the dirt. I would not recommend this company for anything.
