Have been here many times staff under pours and over charges for drinks. I was charged for a double and received a shot with ice in it. Unacceptable. I went for ladies night where they were doing a dukes and boots contest that they adverse for midnight that just never happened. Asked the DJ multiple times when I could sign up and he assured me he would announce it soon this was 30 minutes after midnight. it is now almost 2 am and still no contest. The contests are obviously a scam. There's also always police outside big red flag for what kind of people it attracts and for entrapment when leaving. read more

I come to this bar specifically for the country artists! Just r gently saw Jon Wolfe and then Stoney Larue! Huge dance floor, even bigger bar, tons of room and an awesome stage for the artists! The only downside about D&D is how far away it is from everything else in Arizona... coming from ASU area it's about 25 minutes and from DT Scottsdale it's easily 40 minutes which is rough when taking a Lyft/Uber. Great venue! I'm glad I came back and tried this place again. I went the last two Wednesday's and they are definitely playing more line dancing music then they use to compared to a few months back when it was mostly couples country swing. I enjoy both couples country swing and individual line dancing and there were other people there that I talked with who also enjoy more of the line dancing mixed in. We keep coming here because it's close but I'm throwing in the towel. I always have a hell of a time getting them to honor their drink specials - apparently you have to phrase things exactly a certain way to get the $1 drinks and it seems to be on the bartender's whim what qualifies anyway. Bartenders will ignore you until 10:01 or whatever time it is and then charge you full price. Last night we paid full price for two Jack & Cokes that were plainly 90% Coke The music has gotten... weird. In 1.5 hours, we heard a few Garth Brooks/Dwight Yoakam songs, a lot of Usher and Ludacris, and a lot of obscure but obviously newer country. I heard only *two* songs that had been played on KMLE and KNIX recently. Wtf??? There is little to no floor etiquette with dancing. We came fairly early and watched all the people who could actually dance get run off the floor by the young bro-country guys who just wildly spin girls around and slam into people. The manager of this place is a bitch! she takes advantage of drunk male customers when it comes to the tip. we had to dispute a charge of over a thousand dollars to our bank because the manager didn't give my husband a chance to fix his mistake, he was drunk and shouldn't have been writing on the receipt. it's sad to see grown people do nothing with their lives but work at a run down bar. Okay, I am from the Midwest Kansas City to be precise. I am older and have been frequenting country dance clubs for 30 years. So needless to say I've been in a variety of locations all across the country and witnessed many things. I even used to go to a bar in KC called Denim & Diamonds. I have never been in a country dance club where they only do 1, I said 1 type of couples dancing. There is no traditional two stepping, triple stepping, waltzing, belly rubbing(slow two stepping), etc. The ONLY couples dance I have seen is the Cowboy Swing. It is also the only thing I've seen taught in there so far so it makes sense it's all they do. They do some line dancing but you have to guess when they are going to play one or follow the crowd to know when to go. In every other club I've been in the DJ calls out when the line dancing starts and which dance its going to be (VERY HELPFUL). So my criticism is this; First, teach a variety of dances so the youth can have a variety of dancing to do. Second, the DJ needs to quit being lazy and come up with a routine of songs that focus on a two step, a triple step, slow songs, line dancing and of course the cowboy swing...(ya didn't think I would forget that one did ya it is y'alls favorite, mostly cause you don't know any better). Now the good; Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great people that go to the bar and the back room, that in my opinion, is under utilized (put another dance floor back there) is pretty cool and really opens the place up, when its open. All and all my wife, son and I really enjoy going and hanging out, sneaking some traditional dancing in, drinking a few adult beverages and meeting people there. Absolute shit show!! Went to go to the Cooper Alen show tonight and all I can say is this establishment is just greedy! Purchased tickets for my whole family and got there at 6:30 a half hour after the doors open and once inside it was standing room only and a line still standing outside to get in. They put on the website and the tickets 7:00 showtime Once we were in we found out he didn't go on until 10;0! Talk about false advertising! They wanted you in there to drink until he went on to spend more money! I had my pregnant daughter with me and not one person offered her a seat and no way were we going to stand there for 4 hours! They also had a beer long tournament with a $5 buy-in. There was water in the cups instead of beer, which I liked because I was more in control of my alcohol intake. Most of the girls here were in short jean shorts, jeans, or skirts and cowboy boots. I loved people watching here - so entertaining! Different clubs exist for different genres. Now, you decide not to no longer apply free admission to Veterans. Veteran's were active duty at one point and made the same sacrifice. I've been coming to D&D for years and we always have a good time. I am giving a 3 star review because I'm very disappointed with the upkeep of their website and their lack of communication in response to emails and reservations. I had a party of 30 guests last weekend and tried to reserve a few tables near the dance floor. I emailed twice atleast two weeks in advance for reservations and got no response. When I called during their small time frame for business hours there was no answer and they didn't call back in response to my voicemail. We wanted to go for the free lesson, but the website had not been updated to show the new dance lesson schedule and I have run into this problem before as well. It was still showing the December schedule on Jan 11. Thank goodness we took a chance and came anyways. We were early enough that we were able to secure 3 small tables, but we could've used more and a reservation really would've helped. read more

The front is completely blacked out and all of the space adjacent is empty. To the owners of this establishment, standard protocols for any business, is to post your hours of operation in a highly visible place. We need to make sure that all the drug store cowboys and weekend warrior hat and boot wearing cowpeople get the right information as to operating hours. For those of you who actually work on or own a ranch, farm or horse property, I truly apologize and respect you. Wasn't too bad, from Texas so used to bigger dance floors and such. Did like the fact there wasn't too much hip hop dancing. Went from country to some new line dances I've never seen to more country. I found this establishment while researching a place to hold my 50th birthday party!! They have lots to offer.. such as 1 hr of dance lessons on a Saturday night. All sorts of drink specials. Live music, but not every weekend. Decent country music with a hint of pop rock thrown in occassionally. There are 2 full bars well staffed. The manager and security staff are Awesome. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORRRRSSSST EXPERIENCE!!!! AND THINK THIS WAS A HUGE SCAM!!! Maybe this is how Denim Diamonds remains an open business!!! There were six of us here for the first time. The only reason we went was to see Cooper Alan. Ticket said concert started at 7:00, p.m., D&D website said 6:00. We got there at 7:15, and the place was PACKED!!! There were only four bartenders at the main/large bar, and there was no rhyme or reason where to stand to get a drink. After standing in the wrong place for 20 minutes someone told us we had to stand in line behind where the registers. After finally getting a drink it was about 7:40 with no Cooper Alan in sight. So we asked for staff members when it was going to start, the majority answer was "I don't know", with a RUDE attitude! The last person we asked said ask that guy in the blue shirt. This was BRIAN. Who was also very rude and dismissive. (Shocking for someone who looked to be in his 60's and the manager). His answer was 10 pm. I said that's 3 hours past what Coopers website said. He said "I can't do anything about it", as he was walking away. While we were finishing our drinks at the front before leaving at 8:00 p.m., I saw BRIAN outside taking cash from people to get inside. I'm pretty sure they were over their allowed occupancy at this time. But maybe that's how they figure out how to scam people is to say the concert starts at 7:00 but really doesn't start till 10:00, so people leave and more people come in for more money to see the concert. DIDNT see Cooper Alan, spent $200 in tix and drinks!!! WORST EVER EXPERIENCE AND WILL NEVER GO BACK, AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD!!! read more
