Pretty good time. Kind of a typical country dance bar. Seems like a huge crowd of regulars. Very different than most other bars you've been to. Denim and Diamonds is a fun country bar in an out of the way place. Go if you're into country dancing and/or if you're with a group of friends you enjoy dancing with. If you're with a buddy or alone and looking for a place to dabble in country dancing, look elsewhere or learn before going. The lessons at 6:30 are a good 3+ hours before the fun starts and are attended mainly by 50+ year olds. The DJ sticks to a format. They play several country songs in a row, then two line dances followed by a few hip-hop/freestyle dance songs. This repeats throughout the night and works well. I've noticed that Friday night they play mostly older music and Saturday is newer music. Also, the music is played very loudly... it's nice for dancing, but don't expect to have conversations with your friends. The dance area is a good size, although it will get crowded during after 10 pm. It's surrounded by tables which makes for excellent people watching, and is more enjoyable due to the number of talented dancers. People who are serious about country dancing come here. Jason Aldean even came here unannounced to sing a few songs after his Ak-Chin Pavilion performance on 9/26/2015. The bar is basic and nothing special. No food is served here. It's a large, ugly building in a strip mall. At the end of the day, Denim and Diamonds focused on being the place for country dancing, which they do well at. read more

Who knew this place existed.... I mean, I guess everyone does since this place was packed on a Saturday night. I was expecting to have a terrible time here, but was surprised that it was super fun! There were tons of great dancers here and it was fun even to just watch them. The music was mostly country with some pop songs and line dance stuff (so not really what I typically like, but it matched the venue). The drinks were not great, but they were cheap. This is a great place to come out to dance or just watch others dance. I would come back! read more

Love this place. I love dancing and women. This place has a ton of both. Big dance floor and women everywhere to look at. Country music all night long. They got beer specials till 1030, this place is fun to hang out at. The east valley needed a place like this. They surpassed all my expectations. You can easily drop 120 bucks a night here and thats what i usually blow. Its well worth it though. Anyone can have a blast here, mostly old people till they have their warm shots of milk at like 800 and then it gets filled with the younger crown. read more

We saw Randy Rogers band here on Friday night. It's a 50 mile drive for us, so we were glad that the venue was so huge and entertaining. They don't open the stage area until a few minutes before the show, which is absolute genius because I hate standing there forever trying to keep your spot in the front. That way, everyone could dance and drink and take a seat and enjoy life instead of worrying about their spot near the stage. The beer selection is pretty pitiful. When I asked what beers they had that weren't like the color of urine, she said they had shock top and fat tire. The rest were Bud Light caliber. Bleh. I guess cowboys wouldn't know craft beer if it rode in on a horse. I'll put up with crappy beer for a sweet RRB concert though!! read more

This place is skuzzy and hard to spend time at. The dance floor is beat up and lumpy. People are allowed to take their drinks on it, so watch out for broken class and slippery beer. Is there a fire code limit on people allowed in? If so, they need to respect it even when half of the building is closed off. This place is Club Country, so don't expect to hear any of the good classics untouched. read more

$0.50 drinks for ladies on Weds nights. I have only gone twice, but both times I have had a great time with cheap drinks. The dance floor is huge and even if you've come alone, it's not hard to find a dance partner. I didn't have any creepy guy experiences there either. There is nothing worse than when you're trying to enjoy some drinks with the girls and some random scumbag starts grabbing your ass. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 stars because the last time I was there, they were out of sour, sprite and few other things that I liked mixed with my liquor. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORRRRSSSST EXPERIENCE!!!! AND THINK THIS WAS A HUGE SCAM!!! Maybe this is how Denim Diamonds remains an open business!!! There were six of us here for the first time. The only reason we went was to see Cooper Alan. Ticket said concert started at 7:00, p.m., D&D website said 6:00. We got there at 7:15, and the place was PACKED!!! There were only four bartenders at the main/large bar, and there was no rhyme or reason where to stand to get a drink. After standing in the wrong place for 20 minutes someone told us we had to stand in line behind where the registers. After finally getting a drink it was about 7:40 with no Cooper Alan in sight. So we asked for staff members when it was going to start, the majority answer was "I don't know", with a RUDE attitude! The last person we asked said ask that guy in the blue shirt. This was BRIAN. Who was also very rude and dismissive. (Shocking for someone who looked to be in his 60's and the manager). His answer was 10 pm. I said that's 3 hours past what Coopers website said. He said "I can't do anything about it", as he was walking away. While we were finishing our drinks at the front before leaving at 8:00 p.m., I saw BRIAN outside taking cash from people to get inside. I'm pretty sure they were over their allowed occupancy at this time. But maybe that's how they figure out how to scam people is to say the concert starts at 7:00 but really doesn't start till 10:00, so people leave and more people come in for more money to see the concert. DIDNT see Cooper Alan, spent $200 in tix and drinks!!! WORST EVER EXPERIENCE AND WILL NEVER GO BACK, AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD!!! read more

This is the best country bar in Phoenix for dancing! It has plenty of room, both on the dance floor and off. The staff is very friendly, and they have a decent selection of beer. I've shown up in groups before, but I've also shown up with one or two other friends, and it's usually fairly easy to find someone to dance with. The only weird part is that they occasionally play random, dated hip-hop music. It's pretty funny at first but gets old real quick. read more

I LOVE this country bar! Huge dance floor. Feel good crowd. Great customer service. They mix in line dancing and some top 40 club songs in between country songs and I think it works very well for the crowd they pull. Very easy to find a gentleman to dance with here! I am new to swing dancing and have met some awesome guys here to show me the ropes of swing and two step. A complete blast! My friend recently won $300 cash in their sundress competition- so much fun! My only reason for knocking off a star is that they do not have any food in the bar- so make sure you eat and build the foundation prior to coming here and taking advantage of the 50cent drink specials they have weekly! I went here last night with my 2 girlfriends and we had SUCH A GREAT TIME. The staff is super friendly and so are the patrons. The dance floor is a great size, the music is excellent, and wow can everyone dance! Danced with quite a many random strangers and absolutely loved it. The 50 cent well drinks were a bit wattery but I mean, they're 50 cents so... We got other drinks and shots later and they were well-made and tasty. Everyone was just so nice here! We jumped in on a line dance we didn't know and the girl next to me helped teach it to me super quick so we could fit in. Thanks to her and all the other welcoming people. :) Also the ladies bathroom is HUGE, which is a plus. There was never a line, which I appreciated very much. The only con? ITS SO FAR AWAY! Wife and I went there last night and were very impressed. Number one they took great measures to make sure the bar was very clean you could still even smell some of the Clorox. That made both of us happy giving the coronavirus and the way it's spreading. We took the dance lessons which were very informative and fun I noticed that there was a great mix from very young to very old on the dance floor and participating. I came on a Friday night with my two guy friends (both white) they were able to get in no problem at all when it was my turn to go in (African American women) he told me I couldnt come in because I was too drunk/ high even though my friends had just as much or more than me. I told him I had a shot probably an hour ago and I did smoke recently then showed him my medical marijuana card. He didnt care still told me I couldnt come in. Looked inside the bar and patio it was packed yet not one African American person in site. Dont go to this bar please. Its sad that in 2019 I can still get denied entry to somewhere because of the color of my skin. I dont listen to country much but was excited to try a new place and new music I even bought cowboy boots to go to Denim and Diamonds only to be denied because my skin is too dark for there liking. So I have been here I think three times. One on a Saturday and on two different Wednesday's. This is definitely one of my favorite places to go to for country swing dancing. I look forward to Saturdays and Wednesday's. However it's a hit or miss for me on Wednesday nights just because of the fact that I live an hour away and I work at 0700 and wake up at 0600. But on the nights that I am able to, I always make sure I come out. Y'all are so appreciated. On Saturday's they open up the back side so there is more room. This last Wednesday though because it was the night before the 4th of July, they opened the back. Which good thing they did because it was so packed. There was a 45 min wait in line. But it's not normally like that so don't worry! Wednesday's it's like 5 mins if that. Also ladies get in free on Wednesday's. Saturdays I think you have to pay. Not sure I don't remember to be honest. They have a pool set up in the back and they have two bar counters. One in the front and one in the back. It can get pretty cramped on the dance floor but it's okay! Just know you might not be twirling all over. Drinks are pretty cheap for ladies on Wednesday's as well. I think weekly they do a bikini contest. The only thing I would say I don't like is after midnight they start to play rap and it's a hit or miss for country music which doesn't make sense when it says country bar on the outside. People come to country dance. Not to club. but other than that I like this place. I usually stick around pretty late and wait for any country song so I can dance. read more

This place just ripped me off tonight. It was 1 dollar beers, 50 cent drinks and 6 dollar shots. I had 7 beers (Coor's Light), 5 Vodka Green Tea shots, 1 Vodka shot, and 1 Cranberry and Vodka drink. With simple math this is 43.5, not 65 dollars that they charged me. Tried to debate the bill the bill, they would not listen to me and would not provide a itemized receipt and kicked me out of the bar for challenging them on the bill. Saturday night was my first time here and I have to say, I had a great time! I had never done the AZ 2-step before but the people there were more than happy to show me the basics. Another great thing about this place is that ladies got in free and the drinks were only 50 cent each! If I only went there for the drinks that would still be a great deal. This place is a joke for any kind of dancing. The people on the dance floor are nothing but a bunch of wanna be dancers - if you aren't spinning or being "dipped" you may as well not bother. Who knew this little gem was in East Mesa! Such a fun country bar and Wednesday night brings in quite the crowd... $0.50 beers?! I thought they only did that in college towns. The crowd is diverse.. making it comfortable for anyone to go and have a good time. There is a big dance floor and a good number of seats in addition to other open areas, so there is room to breath when it starts to get busier later in the night. Even if you are not a dancer it's fun to watch and enjoy some cheap drinks.. but let's face it you'll find at least one dance partner by the time you leave. That's funny....when they had Denim and Diamonds years ago in East Phoenix, Thomas rd., almost in Scottsdale.......it was a great place. Go early, no cover, great drink specials. free dance lessons. If you're a barely 21 preppy looking for packed-like-sardines dance floor because all you're gonna do is the amateur Titty Bar dance with your hair while you bring your drink on the floor with you and you're too cool to go out before 11PM, so then there IS a cover charge......well, I guess this isn't for you. I go here most Wednesday nights, they're only open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. However, it's an awesome experience. Big dance floor, free two step lessons and a great atmosphere. All the bartenders are put on their own well and responsible for it, which can often lead under pouring. They definitely need to update their pos system to allow us to go to any Bartender, but that's probably years in the future. What this means is they force you "tab openers" to pick a bartender and stick with em. I recommend heather! Awesome attitude, perfect pours and very honest which is hugely appreciated. Also she's gorgeous! But don't excited, I think she's married. But regardless, the best bartender there. Recommend this place on those nights to all. And to all a goodnight!!
