Very disappointed in the course staff. Every person we encountered had a bad attitude. The starter was unnecessarily aggressive with rushing us to the 1st tee even though we were over 15 minutes from the scheduled time walking to our cart from the putting green right near him. The cart lady also wasn't pleasant the first time we ordered drinks from her. Not really much issues with the course itself. Hope the employees here work on their customer service. read more

Love playing here at Painted Mountain because the course is close by and usually uncrowded. Today, I played with my long time partner and when we got to hole 2, we noticed the tee box was under repair and the tees had been. Over up to around 50 yards from the green! Holy shades of US Open! Soooooo many club options to play. Hahahaha. I actually played hole 2 with a sand wedge, hole 5 (about 30 yards) with putter, hole 9 (over water) with a choked up 7 iron and tried to play 15 and 16 left handed! Hey. Have some fun and quit worrying about punched greens, course under repair and cart paths. If you're trying to qualify for the Korn Ferry tour, your on the wrong course anyway! Anyway. Greens get punched in a week or so. (Mid July) so go play some cheap golf and have fun. read more

Not a big fan of this place right now. I love golf, no matter what kind of shape the course is in. However, if you add the condition with the atmosphere from here. It's kind of hard to over look. Condition: Tee box's are in horrible shape. I don't think any of them are flat. Most of them it's a challenge to find grass. The greens are in rough shape, only because of the poor etiquette by the golfers there. The fairways are in decent shape, ground is a little hard. I was however surprised how soft the bunkers are. Well I just mentioned the conditions, which I would be ok with. They do not have a driving range. They do have a huge putting green, but! No chipping signs all over the place? Golf Course is diffidently a party course. Drunks all over the place, people hitting into you, and takes forever for a round. Maybe it was a bad day, and I will be going back again. Painted Mountain is a good course for those that don't want to pay over a hundred dollars. With open fairways, short yardage, and minimal to no elevation change or doglegs, the track's set up is great for the pin hunters. For us, the location was convenient to my buddy's house and it was a warm up round for the weekend where we couldn't get into too much trouble. The pricing ($83) is fair especially for early morning tee times in the spring. Checking in was a breeze and the bag guys introduced to the other twosome we were paired with, guided us to the first tee, and we were gripping and ripping 5 minutes before our scheduled tee time. Without a driving range to warm up, the first hole will sure to be a challenge as you need an accurate tee shot on this dogleg right par 5. Bring your range finder also as there is no GPS on the carts. The course was in decent shape with intermittent bald spots and the greens were slow but rolled pretty true. 8 and 14 are definitely drivable par 4s. You'll go out at par 37 with three manageable par 5s, and after you make the turn, you can put your foot on the gas, as you'll head home with a par 33 back nine with 4 par 3s and very short par 4s. read more

Round started off great with an employee letting us group 6 people together since no one was playing behind us for a few hours. Get to the golf cart return and another employee comes out berating us for going slow and playing with 6 people. This is the second time I've been spoken to rudely at this course. They seem to think they are a high end club and not a below avg AZ course. Don't play here. read more

Actually one do the worst experiences I had from customer service at any sort of place. Spent thirty dollars to play 7 holes in 3 and a half hours. The disrespect from the cart girl as well at the ranger was unwarranted and downright wrong. Would give zero stars if I could. The outside service was the only good part that made this experience some what enjoyable. read more

Played here for the first time a month ago. Course in good shape considering the summer. The bunkers were damp but could be cuz we played early in morning. Lots of houses but they are set back and not really an issue. Course has a 256 par 4 (!) so good for all skill levels. We played on a Friday morning and had 2 groups in front but the pace of play was rough. No Marshall and the slow group was unaware of their delay. Other than that, nice course if you have time to kill. read more

This is a well manicured flat track with a pretty mountain to look at while you wait and wait and wait to play. Starting groups off every 8 minutes guarantees a slow pace of play. So you think, at least they have a cart girl - except this course doesn't have a liquor license so no bloody Mary's to kill time. Disappointing. Nice staff tho. read more

Played golf there. Got to the 2nd hole and there was 3 groups of 4 on the tee box. Waited at least 10 minutes on every hole to tee off. Had 2 groups behind us many times on tee boxes. Unbelievable. Will never play here again. Was hard to even find a place to tee off as the tee boxes were all tore up. Had a course ranger stop and tell us we needed to pick up the pace. Kind of hard when there is 2 groups right in front of you all the time. Ridiculous. read more

The club house and restaurant are ok, but the golf course is struggling. There is no Driving Range. You can chip and putt, but no area to warm up for full swings. The tee boxes are full of divots, scruffy grass, and dirt. And please know this is reflected in the price. We played on Saturday, Feb 3 for $100 per person, the week before The Waste Management Open, a bargain at this time of year. The pace of play was good. We started at 7:30am and finished within 4 hours. In my opinion, if they could add a driving range and fix the tee boxes, they could charge $100 more per round. read more

If they had told me before I paid that they had just aerated and then heavily sanded the greens I would've gone elsewhere, but they didn't. Then, every tee box is a disaster...lumpy, bare spots, none are level...horrid. Fairways are half burned out and brown...all this at full price. Try elsewhere. read more

Painted Mountain golf course is in great shape now that the- seeding was completed about a month ago. The staff is super friendly, and the prices for golf is reasonable compared to the many over- priced courses nearby. The restaurant has finally re-opened after the Corona shutdown, so they haven't started up with nightly specials. I do see they have a top sirloin special on Sat night for a great price. Karaoke has stated, but haven't been there yet. Last year, the Karaoke was excellent. I can't believe all the great singers. Sometimes they have live music to accompany the songs read more

We go here on Saturday nights. They have karaoke. It's not any karaoke, it is high end. They have back up singers and a guy that will play the guitar for you and if your song calls for a harmonica your covered there as well. Super fun. Usually the same crowd and they are very good singers. If you want to go somewhere and watch a bunch of people have a very very good time and this is the place. read more

Nice atmosphere they were out of raspberry tea and Arnold palmers but did have bloody Mary's. As for the food we had clam Chowder which was good and a Ruben sandwich that my husband liked a lot.I had the fish and chips but they were kind enough to change my chips for onions rings. the onion rings were really good the fish was a 3 out of 5 the cole slaw I did not care for at all but then again others may like it that way. I've been coming here every Friday night since Nov 2022 and have only been served dinner twice!! Once when I chased down a server and the other when the Karaoke DJ notified the wait staff. I come for the karaoke and would like to eat sometimes but it's not my job to chase down a server when none of the other people at tables have to. One week I had strangers sharing my table with me and a server came to take their order and completely ignored my even though I had a menu. It's ok if they want to ignore me and don't want my money; I'll just come sing and have a good time. I may start bringing my own snacks, too. read more

Painted Mountain is a great value for golf. It's not the greatest course, but it's got enough challenges to keep it interesting, a beautiful layout, and it has something for players of any skill level. All for a great price. The only complaint I have about Painted Mountain--and this would probably turn away many golfers--is that they don't have a driving range. That means you tee off cold on the first hole, and the first hole is a 600 yard dogleg around a lake, and the most difficult hole on the course. It's an intimidating start, but don't worry, it gets easier. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible.. What a piece of crap golf course. The maintenance people should be ashamed of the condition of this course. The tee boxes are awful, the fairways are littered with debris & the greens are as hairy as an 80's porn star. I've played the course a few times and it's a fairly easy municipal type track easy to walk but what I really like is the karaoke they have it's a riot all the old folks go down there and pretend to be Frank Sinatra crooners drinks are really inexpensive kind of a fun time for most anybody! read more

Painted Mt I want to like you, I really do. The rates are great, that is worth a star, the course is clean an kept up, that is worth another star. The first hole is a long par 5, it sets up really bad karma for the whole game. A lot of the tee times are very close together, this causes a weird bottle neck and pissy golfers. It is a great course to go get a round in, but don't expect more and you won't be let down. read more

Joined the husbands for a happy hour after golf and the drinks were horrendous! I ordered the French 75 which came out totally flat. I kindly asked the waiter if they could open a new bottle of bubbly and she said yes of course. The new drink came back and the only difference is that they added Sprite. It was actually kind of insulting. I finally asked for a wine which I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that it totally came from a box. The food was gross and over fried. Long story short, if you're not 85 years old and only looking for a cheap beer and shotty service, don't waste your time. read more

Enjoyed the golf course very much! However, when we ordered a sandwich at the cafe, we waited almost an hour and all the while the waiter was being very attentive to the table of 15 or so sitting nearby. When we physically went in to ask about our order, we realized that our order had NEVER been placed!!! There were no apologies from the waiter and the manager just comped our drinks that we had to go to the bar and get ourselves. We told the manager that this isn't good PR for the place when you have winter residences who talk a LOT to each other. read more

Have to say we were very disappointed with the mixed quality of the food we ordered here especially as my parents were taking us out to dinner. At best some of the dishes, like my shrimp Provençal, was fine but nothing outstanding; at worst, the coconut shrimp my daughter ordered was only half cooked. My father ordered a different shrimp dish and requested fettuccine and got a pile of under seasoned fettuccine noodles under his shrimp. Our waitress/hostess was very nice and attentive but then disappeared at the end of the meal and we had to track her down to settle the bill. If you're showing up to get in a few swings on an off day afternoon, it's not bad for the price. The course is below average and if you need anything from the staff, you most likely won't get it. Fact is, they are poorly run and need to learn a thing or two about taking care of their customers. Most recently, we stood waiting to tee off for 45 minutes due to having no carts. There must have been 8 foursomes looking for a cart. They clearly over booked. The only thing they did well was refund my money so that I could leave. read more

Went for lunch with a group of ladies yesterday. I ordered a chicken cactus salad. The chicken breast looked old, like chicken breast that has been sitting in the refrigerator for days :( My first clue was the smell of re-heated chicken which is very typical, like feather smelling . It had a sweet coating on it that did not belong, presumably added to hide the fact that it was old. The service was awful. Had to ask several times for a box to go. The server was mean and condescending to a few of us. Definitely not going back there ever again. Also, the whole restaurant's smell as soon as you walk in the door is odd. read more
