I sent in my APC NS in for repair. I had a crotch blow out on the jeans that I worked on for 2 years! Now, I know that APC's are prone to crotch outs, but mine was not that bad. On the site, it stated that it costed $7 per inch to get repaired. Well, I thought that the estimate was going to be under $50...BOY was I wrong. They sent me an email with the price--$112! That is way too much to get my jeans fixed. I could buy me a new pair of APC's! I sent my jeans in on a Thursday and it was delivered on Friday approximately at 11am. No one did not claim the package so it was resent on Monday and finally on Tuesday it arrived. I finally get the estimate of the jeans on Wednesday. I am very disappointed with the customer service. I sent emails to them and they did not answer me promptly. On top of that, I have to pay $12 to get it shipped back to me because I refuse to pay $112 for a repair. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've had two pairs of jeans repaired by DT. The first time, I was very happy with the service, and the repairs seemed very well-done, with great color matching. The second time, not so much. I paid for three repairs but only two were completed. And one of the repairs was sub-par, no better than what my local dry-cleaner could do. The color matching is completely off, and the fabric is now stiff and uncomfortable. But the worst part of the experience is the glacial speed of their customer service. I wrote to notify them of my dissatisfaction, and after sitting on my complaint for nearly a week, they responded that they would correct the work free of charge. I followed up immediately, but it's been 9 days, and I have not heard back. I won't be sending them any more jeans. read more

Damn, I look slick now! In my neatly sewn/weaved/restored denim. Only it took approximately $150 and three weeks of being away from my three paris of jeans (that I couldn't wear anyway). Yikes! Would you put that amount of money and trust toward a company that doesn't take drop-offs anymore? Well, I would, and I did, and I was satisfied. However ... the results could probably be pulled off by a local tailor ... maybe so. What kind of results did you get, Shaina? You ask. Well, I had three pairs of jeans repaired, all with their own ... issues ... and in ascending order of damage, the results were as follows: 1. Jeans worn veeeeery thin. So thin, I had attempted self-reinforcement. Not a good idea (I stink at altering anything worn). My request: remove patches and reinforce the buttocks, etc. The outcome: a seamless web of thread; colors matched quite well, and given it was only reinforcement, blending of colors and texture really turned out nicely. 2. Jeans worn very thin + hole the size of my thumb ... in the crotch (what a pain to patch!). No pre-existing patches, but a hole. The outcome: a slightly thicker layer web of thread; perfect color match = solidly done. You'd have to look fairly close up to tell there's a repair. 3. Jeans with holes in multiple areas ... crotch region yet again ... and with preexisting self-inflicted patches. A disaster, really. The outcome: really thick and extensive layer web of thread (difficult to match color; like a really complicated blend of highlights that you might achieve over many rounds at the salon), resulting in a mono-blue color and pretty stiff. But ... it was a thorough job that I couldn't have expected anything better. In the end, I have to say, I was glad to have three different pairs of jeans repaired. Had I only sent in pair 1, I would have been 100% satisfied -- 5 stars! Had I only sent in pair 2, I would have been 90% satisfied. Had I only sent in par 3, I probably would be pissed (and it was probably the most expensive repair). Hence, the 3 star review. Oh, also note that the repair did involve a patching material, sewn to the interior of the pants, which definitely helps to reinforce the area. So, my words of advice to those of you as intrigued by this service as myself: don't expect miracles, but don't expect disappointment either. The service was prompt (but you also have to be prompt) and responsive (by email). Upon initiating your request, I would advise waiting a few days before biting the bullet. You never know, they might change their location on you (yes, this happened the day that I was about to send my jeans off). I probably won't send my jeans back there; will try local shop before I go back to DT; mainly based on exorbitant pricing. read more

I have big thighs. I am not ashamed of this, it is a simple fact of life. However, it makes buying/owning jeans problematic. Big thighs + walking a lot = big fat holes in my jeans. Every single pair of jeans I've ever owned has blown out in the crotchal region. Expensive jeans that are perfect everywhere else but with giant, worn out rips on the inner thigh. I tried patching a really expensive pair that I loved and it looked ridiculous, so I hid them in a storage bin, hoping one day I'd figure it out. And then I found out about Denim Therapy. For two years these jeans waited to be repaired, so I pulled them out and shipped them to New York. After a couple weeks I received my jeans and I was ecstatic. They mimicked the stitching in my Diesels and, unless you were closely examining my crotch (bad joke in there somewhere, sorry), there is really no way to tell that they were patched. For about $60 I saved my favorite pair of jeans and I'm guessing they'll go out of style before they wear out this time, with such amazing reinforcement stitching. read more

Way too expensive for the service and they decided to skip part of the job. I've had repairs done to my jeans before (the exact same job just different pair of jeans) but done for less then half the price. I sent my jeans in for a crotch repair and repairs done to the right butt pocket. After I dropped off my jeans I was quoted for a price $85 total yikes. Which was a lot more then i was expecting but they already had my jeans and so I thought maybe they will do a really good job. When i got my jeans back they had only repaired the crotch and ignored the butt pocket. I will not be going back. read more

I feel it is hugely over priced, that along with shipping from Ca to NY is the only reason i am giving them 3 stars. If you plan on repairing 2-3 pairs of jeans with a couple of inches worth of tears, you can get an decent quality sewing machine, the materials needed and do it yourself for the same price or cheaper. Good quality. Horrible service. Seeing as anyone can stitch together a minor tear, i find it more important to have good customer service. Took them days to respond to my emails. Had to follow up a bunch of times. And didn't get my jeans in time for an event because of the lag. In addition, it was $25 for expedited shipping. The "expedited" shipping took a week. A cool idea, but sadly too good to be true. I brought my 2 favorite pairs of jeans to these guys (admittedly, after they were no longer wearable so it's not like they ruined them) and the fixes they did just didn't match the color. Theylooked weird. And both of them (one on the crotch, one on the knee) ripped open again after just a few wears. I mean, it's a cool idea, I just wish it worked better. Maybe they need to keep working on their process. But for the amount they charge, the service just isn't there yet. You're better off paying 50 cents for a patch. read more

Like most folks, I found denim therapy online. I work just a few blocks over so I walked over a fav pair of levi eco mens shorts I blew the crotch out of for repair. It took a bit over a week and the results were great. The reason that I am not giving a full 5 star rating like most folks is that this can be done for a lot less. I did a bit more researching online, and figured out what they do is simple darning. They do it well, and find fairly close thread matches. However, while strolling around the garment district in the blocks near where denim therapy is actually located, I was able to find the same thread for $3. If you are a crafty person with sewing machine and a good thread match, you can do this yourself for much much less. read more

(Another) update. I sent another email requesting an update and was contacted within 24 hours regarding my jeans. They let me know that the jeans are lost, that they filed a claim with the shipping company, told me that process would take a while, so they are going to reimburse me for my jeans. They asked for a screenshot of they style and they would reimburse me at what I felt acceptable. Definitely unfortunate experience but I do appreciate that in the end they are going to replace my jeans. read more

I had a few pair of jeans repaired nicely as well as a dress and a couple tops mended. The only negative was that they messaged me that my items were ready and when i went to pick them up, they couldn't find them anywhere. I had to follow up to confirm that the items were found in storage, but I did have to make two trips to pick up my items. read more

Got a pair of jeans tapered for $60. They did a good job but not worth $60. Albeit, it was my fault for bringing it for a simple taper. A laundromat can do that for $10. I will definitely bring my jeans if the knee and/or crotch blows out though as the reviews for those jobs look great. read more

Followed this company on insta for a while. Finally pulled the plug on a basically 2 month old pair of hudsons that the knee ripped on, and I could see the other knee starting to go. I sent total repair was about $60. Now I didn't really need the other knee fixed but had it reinforced so I didn't have to do it twice. I thought it was worth it. They did a great job. Only I know where to look to seethe repair. Otherwise you'd have no idea. My only complaint was the time table that it took. They do squeeze every day of the projected timeline out of it. I'm not going to beat around the bush: these guys do an amazing job. Better than any other repairs I've ever had done. My gripe: Takes forever. More importantly, they're careless and do not follow instructions. First repair - one of the issues (verbalized when dropped off and also clearly circled and written on the accompanying form) was overlooked. Second repair- they shipped my jeans rather than holding them for pickup (also verbalized and marked on the form). It's a little frustrating. Just beware. Seriously great service! If patches aren't working for your hole-y jeans, this is the place that will fix them like new. I had the waistband repaired on a pair of Lucky jeans that are no longer in production. I declined having the crotch seams reinforced (they were looking slightly worn), but when I got my jeans back, they had reinforced the crotch with patches at no charge. How nice!! Had a 3x3 inch hole in my favorite pair of jeans which they patched up using similar color denim stitching for $27. The only annoying thing was physically going there to drop it off and pick it up (it's an inconvenient location for me). They offer to mail it to you but, to me, wasn't worth the extra cost. There should be no question about where to take your jeans in New York. Denim Therapy truly impressed me because they went above my (very high) expectations when they did work on my jeans. I just moved to NY from LA. In LA I knew I could take my jeans to Denim Revival for invisible repair work and modifications that would stay true to the details of my jeans. I'm very excited to have discovered that Denim Therapy holds themselves to high standards as well and are capable of doing invisible repair work and modifications that keep the jeans looking perfect. Their attention to detail goes as far as using cotton thread on my jeans that employ it in stitching (when most shops never deviate from synthetic thread - no matter what). This is my second time using them. I wish the system they use was more accurate as I shipped my jeans a week before I even got a notification that they were received by their shipping company. I thought the had lost them. Anyway, if you have a HUGE gaping hole in your pants and you expect them to repair the jeans to "flawless" condition, stop being a cheap ass and buy some new jeans or lose some weight so it doesn't happen again. Where they excel at is at fixing smaller holes that are not in noticeable areas. I had a pair of G Star jeans and a pair of Fidelity jeans that I just had done. They both look and hold up great. Yeah there is a patch in the inside but do you really think they were actually going to reweave the entire fabric...get a clue. read more

Two of my absolute FAVORITE pairs of jeans (that I've had for 6-7 years) each tore tore at the crotch area within the past few months. I was heartbroken, considering how hard it is to find a perfect fit. I did a google search and came across DT. I mailed both pairs in for an estimate and was a little surprised at how high the cost was (about $70 in total), but I paid and I'm glad I did. Just got both pairs back, and they look great! The patch is a bit stiffer than the original jeans and it is noticable if you look for it, but still well worth it. Pros: Great patchwork. Saved my jeans. Cons: Total turnaround 6 weeks. I had a rather large 'L' shape rip on my favorite pair of AGs right on the bum. Needless to say, I was devastated. I shipped them off to Denim Therapy and was glad to pay the $28 (better than buying another $200 pair of jeans) for the repair. It took about 2.5 weeks for me to get them back, but it was well worth the wait. I had three pairs of Naked & Famous and Gustin Raw Denim Jeans. As you know with Raw Denim, they're expensive so I didn't want to just take them to the cleaners for a crappy patch up job. I needed all three hemmed with a chain stitch and I needed a blow out fixed on two of them in the crotch. They did an amazing job with all of them. I can only notice they were repaired there if I really look hard. They also did a great job hemming with the Chain Stitch. Big fan, have another 3 pairs I need to bring to them. read more

I was very excited to have my jeans repaired, and I chose denim therapy to do it. I love my jeans, and I wear them almost every single day, but there were two holes in my knees and a hole coming along by the crotch area. I get my jeans back, and my knees look like they dipped them in cement to cover the holes, there color match technology is very, very off. Besides that, they missed so many spots on the jeans that needed to be reinforced. Overall, I am very disappointed, I paid $85 and I have jeans that still have areas that are becoming holes. If you are gonna have people wait 3 weeks to get there jeans repaired, maybe you guys should do a full spot check on everything that might be needed to be repaired. Although I was very relunctant to bring in my almost $300 pair of Diesel skinny jeans, I heard such favorable reviews of their work, that I couldn't resist. Despite that their office are fairly cramped, their staff however is hard at work and very meticulous in their reapir efforts - they fixed my somewhat large rip in my crotch area - and for only $30. Plus, the ETA was a couple of weeks (I dropped them off and picked them up, but their online process is super user friendly), but received them in a little over a week! This place is pretty good! They just repaired my favorite jeans - Kicking Mule Workshop 1980 in raw selvedge. They had three HUGE holes blown out in the crotch area, and my girlfriend would not let me wear them anymore until they were fixed. I initially took them to my local tailor who patched them up but did a crappy job. Eventually, the patching gave out and I decided to go forward with Denim Therapy. The process was fairly straightforward and took a total of about 3.5 weeks but the results were great. The jeans are now hole-free, and the work seems very solid! Sure, the repair isn't cheap by any means but it's solid and will last. And I mean come on, if you are spending a lot of money on your jeans already and you love them, the cost of repairing them certainly offsets the cost of a new pair (unless you want a new pair, of course!) read more

I consider myself a bit of a jean connoisseur, having racked up quite the collection over the years, and as such I am very particular about the brands I buy and the companies I use to service them. I have to say, Denim Therapy came as a HUGE welcome surprise! Over time, and I can only speak for men, my jeans tend to wear in the crotch area. I used to try and fix these myself or take the to the brands main store for a patch and the work was always shoddy. After giving DT a try, I will never go anywhere else. I submitted (2) pairs of jeans with the crotch needing a patch and (1) pair with a clean rip in the back, near my bum. DT patched the jean and matched the color, to the point where I had to really look to see where the results were! Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a fix on their premium jeans. THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR DROPPING OFF/PICKING UP JEANS. Denim Therapy is definitely my go-to for getting premium jeans altered. They are in midtown NYC (38th St. & 8th Ave) in a nondescript building. The staff is friendly and efficient. They have 2 people who do all the alterations: a seamster and seamster. They are about senior-aged, so not sure what they're gonna do when either one retires LOL. At any rate, I worked with the seamstress (I forget her name) and she was so sweet and helpful. I dropped off 2 pairs on separate occasions. The first was a pair of Tellason's selvedge that I needed chain-stitched hemmed (you denimheads know what I mean) and DT had the machine to do this. I then needed a full leg taper on a pair of Imogene + Willie's that was sitting in my closet. It was too baggy and couldn't be exchanged. Both came out perfectly! Note that there is a 2-3 week turnaround even if you drop off your jeans. I guess they do it on a first-come-first-served basis, which is fair. read more

I have had about 6 or 7 jeans repaired with Denim Therapy and I can assure you they do an amazing job. They have saved many of my favorite pairs of jeans and some even twice (after many many wears)! I have only had my crotches done because I tend to walk a lot and wear them out. Every time I get them back they are stronger than new. I can run up stairs, walk for miles and run them through endless washes and they never rip again. So if you have a favorite pair of jeans they don't make anymore or are so broken in you can't live without them you must go to Denim Therapy. Just be prepared to wait a few weeks as the shipping back and forth and repair takes time. As for price? To me it was worth it and seemed reasonable for the quality service I received. read more

This is a great service. Denim Therapy has saved 3 blown out RRL crotches for me now, for around $30 each (a small price to pay to double the life of $250+ jeans). No one can tell except me. The color matching is great and the fabric is completely seamless. My only complaint is that it took 3 weeks this last time. I tried the Denim Surgeon once they left an mess. From the day that I mailed them to the day that they arrived back in my hands was about 3 weeks. I did not notice any bulky patch like other reviewers are saying. I used Denim Therapy after hearing about it from a friend who RAVED about the experience and service. I can't say I'd recommend the company. From start to finish, I've been disappointed with the service and quality I've received. I shipped out my jeans very late after putting in the request (definitely my fault!). However, when I noticed the tracked package reported "received" via USPS, I started checking the status of my order through Denim Therapy. Several days passed and there was no update, so I sent an email inquiry. I followed up a day later asking if I could get a referral discount from my loyal friend. I heard nothing for several days until I got the form letter saying that my order had been processed and payment was required to continue the order's progression. I paid promptly. It wasn't until later that afternoon, I received an email response to my original queries, saying they couldn't honor the discount because I had already made payment on the order. Ok then. I didn't want to make any judgement until I received the final product and had high hopes when receiving my jeans since I've heard a lot about the thread matching. When I examined my jeans, I was shocked at how poor of a match was executed. Furthermore, I feel like I'm going to have two patches of cardboard in the area that was repaired. All this for close to $100. I might as well have bought new jeans for this price point. Overall, I feel like I could have had my jeans repaired at my local dry cleaners for a much fairer, and less involved process. read more

I really love Denim Therapy and it was tough for me not to give them a full 5-star review. I have sent four of my favorite pair of jeans back to them to have the seat/crotch area repaired and every time they have done exceptional work. The great part about the craftsmanship is that they 1)match the thred to your denim so it's not easy to detect and 2)they shape the repairs on the seat area of your jeans so that they look completely normal when you wear them. They are, hands down, the BEST in terms of the final deliverable. Look at the reviews as they speak for themselves! My reasoning for not giving 5 stars is the same as the others: price. At $7/inch, the cost adds up quickly and, like a car repairman, you don't ever REALLY know how accurate your estimate is. I've measured my repair area before I've sent my jeans in and estimated the price - it was still more than that. Plus you are charged shipping TO and FROM which also adds up. I've never had a bill below $50 but at least I am getting quality work for what I am paying. Last, they don't have a "rewards" program for frequent customers, which I find disheartening. I emailed them directly and asked for some discount because of how many pairs I've sent in this year alone and they were very quick about giving free shipping or 15% off, depending on which was more expensive. Also, they send out a few emails a year with discounts so sign up for added savings. Overall, the time of the return and the cost are a minor thorn in what continues to be an otherwise completely satisfying experience. This is my go-to shop for denim repairs. read more

I've used DenimTherapy's services twice, on the same pair of jeans. They restored two buttons to the fly of a pair of All Saints, and also patched up three areas that were in need of mending. So far, the buttons have held up fine and with the patches being so new, I'll have to check in later. I've spent about half the price of the jeans themselves on the repairs, which not only makes buying All Saints jeans a questionable proposition, it also means Denim Therapy is not cheap. But what else are you going to do until a similar operation is opened up in one of the outer boroughs? Also, my jeans are dark gray/black so I think patching them up may be more difficult than blue jeans. The patching reinforced the strength of the denim but they still look a bit off-white and worn in the region that was repaired. read more

Jeans are Like New. Just Do it! I had a pair of Banana Republic jeans that had several rips and 'almost-rips' in the upper thigh area. I sent them off to DT and now I literally can't tell where those rips used to be. Kudos for such a great job! The only thing I would caution is that it does take some time to ship the jeans off, get them repaired, and then have them sent back. It took me about a month to get mine back so make sure you budget in the waiting time in case you are trying to get your jeans repaired in a hurry. read more

I first heard of denim therapy when I looked at a pair of my favorite seven jeans that were utterly destroyed and thought wow, I wonder if someone can repair these. I googled denim repair and voila! I sent in my favorite pair of sevens that were tattered at the bottom beyond belief along with a pair of Hudson's. The turn around time was less than quoted and my jeans both look brand new again. This is the second time I've used the service, and both times, they've come through amazingly well. $100+ jeans that were ready to be tossed are revived, better than new, because they're comfortable, worn-in, but still look good enough for the office. I also like how they're tech-savvy- you book your repair through their website, and you can even manage and pay for your repairs through a mobile site! I sent in a pair of Diesel and 2 pair of 7's, each about ~$200 pair of jeans, each with symmetrical 1.5" holes on the inside of the crotch. Overall great customer experience, it was super easy to sign up, print my label, and ship the jeans out to New York (from Seattle). While I wouldn't describe the experience as super speedy, I did have a quote for the repairs within less than 2 weeks. After authorizing the repair it was about another 2 weeks before I had my jeans back. Pricing was higher than I expected, 100 bucks for the three repairs not counting the shipping, but I didn't really know what to expect as I haven't had these types of repairs done before. While the workmanship was good, you can clearly see where the repair was done if you're looking at it. Luckily for me, given that the repairs were between my legs so not very noticeable unless I'm sitting in a very... awkward... position. The material where the repair was done is stiffer than the rest of the jeans, but not so stiff that it makes them uncomfortable to wear. After about 10 minutes with them on I forget that there's even a repair down there. Next time that I have a repair like this done I'll definitely consider Denim Therapy, but I might look locally for cheaper services to get a second quote. DT's fancy marketing and whiz-bang website definitely pulled me in for this first round :) read more

You can physically "feel" the new jean material but it's very hard to tell when being worn. I could see if it was on a flat front of the leg fix that one could possibly see the new material but I don't think so. Great job, the new material will outlast my entire pair of jeans lol read more
