It's not fancy but really nice people making excellent pizzas. We had a small white clam that was awesome and a pepperoni with cheese and hot honey. Also some buffalo chicken wings and chicken parm. This is a great neighborhood pizza joint. It's been around since 1933 so it's a place many generations have enjoyed. The pizza is delicious--it's the thin crust variety--my favorite. My companion had the old classic, spaghetti and meatballs, which he really enjoyed. The stand-out at this restaurant are the original wooden booths and the terrific service. They're always busy, but make you feel welcomed and not rushed. Parking out front is a little chancy, but there's a smallish lot across the street and up a few houses. read more

This place was a recommendation from a friend. I must have driven past it a number of times and didn't realize there was this neighborhood gem in the middle of a residential area. Shame on me, this place has been a local staple for a long time and run by generations of the same family for decades. The age shows in the interior (don't expect an up to date or romantic place), but the food is well worth it and the owner is awesome. I ordered a "Tuscan" pizza (artichokes and roasted garlic) and added Finocchiona and Olives custom to it which raised some eye brows with the boss. He considered it a good choice and appreciated the order while stating that not many order it that way because they don't know what Finocchiona was :-) I also had the sauteed calamari, great, but didn't leave a lot of room for the entree, be mindful. I went back a couple of weeks later and we shared the same calamari entree (lesson learned). We also shared a clam pizza, a local favorite. Nothing wrong, but not the strongest taste and I wouldn't have it again. Summary: I will go back again. My wife and I recently had pizza here. Not having been here before seeing the Portnoy review made us want to try it. I have to say the pizza was very good! However, we had to wait close to 2 hrs for the pizza after we ordered it. Our waitress did tell us that the wait for pizza was going to be about an hour. We figured we would have a beer or two while waiting so an hour was ok. I have to say that 2 hours is rediculous no matter how good it is. I think ordering ahead and arriving when they say it will be ready may be the play here. This place is also very old and tired looking. I'm assuming that the pizza ovens may be old as well making it impossible to crank out the volume that they do. Sorry but I'm just being honest. The pizza is good!!! read more

Absolutely the best pizza I've ever had outside of NYC and easily in my top 3 all time. My wife and I just bought a house in Weymouth and we were on the hunt for a great pie. I stumbled upon this hidden gem 3 months after moving here and have gotten the most consistently delicious pizza time every time we order. The pizza is incredibly thin, or as my Dad said, "it's Keto friendly." The cheese tasty and not super stringy so the slices pull apart with ease. The sauce is somewhat sweet and is what really ties everything together. The dining room/bar area haven't been updated in years for good reason because this place doesn't need to change a damn thing. When you've been in business for nearly 100 years, you're doing everything right at this point. 9.2/10 Pro tips: There is a lot across the street for parking that I just found out about. Order your pie well done. If you don't live within 5 minutes, eat it there. The pies lose temperature quickly due to the thinness and you'll end up reheating. read more

Cheese Pizza - the best kind of cheese pizza. Flop. Thin crust. Sweet, light sauce and greasy cheese. I'm not gonna lie to you, I quite enjoy it so little grease on my cheese pizza. This place knows a good recipe and hasn't changed it in a lifetime. What they're doing is clearly working for them. This place is totally cash only, hole in the wall, original Day core, hasn't changed a table location since it's inception. Being in this restaurant is like being in a museum of America's great pizza establishments. What is an homage, a relic, a dedication to everything that is the American small business in its prime. Clearly a town favorite. People come from surrounding towns, Hingham, Quincy, norwell, Hanover, they come from all over to eat this pizza. I heard about it through a guy that I met at the beach. He said I had to try it. So here I am on a Thursday night getting my 9 o'clock large pizza for 14 bucks. I literally cannot beat it. I will be back. The crust is so crunchy and delightful and there's always a little sauce on the crust to complement. It's not a dry crust, it's a savory, sweet, flaky and crunchy mouth feel. I want it all the time. Good people, good pizza, good community. When you are looking for the place you might drive past it at least two or three times before you actually figure out where it is or where to park. Outside was what I expected. Small neighborhood bar with little or no exterior decorations. Turns out years ago, I had been there. Going inside was disappointing. Won't mention the storeroom vibe as a lot of the dining area was used to store pizza boxes (oops, I mentioned it). But my first impression was the dirt. The table card was marked with old grease. Corn meal was in the table corners. And the pizza stand had remnants of pizza long ago. And then the food... we ordered a pepperoni. It came floating in a pool of grease. I ordered extra crispy and I didn't think there was any "crisp". That and the sogginess from the grease and I could barely gag down two sliced. Not returning anytime soon. read more

I have lived nearby Denly's for almost 50 years and wanted very much to stay a customer as there is a lot to like but after 3 strikes I'm out. 2 of the issues are about the bill & payment - twice now I've been overcharged and I'm sure it's a thing that is simply being done to get a few extra dollars thinking nobody notices. Why is there never a receipt a customer can check? It's either hand scribbled on a pizza box or a paper receipt for the food order only no dollar amount. Twice now I get home and check the menu prices and see I've been overcharged around $8 and I'm adding in for tax, etc. is there a takeout fee? Also recently a side order of spaghetti tasted and smelled sour, like vinegar. Once is bad luck, twice is concerning, but 3 problems within a short time is done & out. It's too bad as the place has great character and often good food. read more

My wife and (and frankly much of my family) have been going to Denly's for 40+ years now. In my opinion, this is the best pizza in the town of Weymouth or dare I say: the entire South Shore! For one thing...they always put the sauce and the cheese and the toppings ALL THE WAY TO THE EDGES OF THE PIZZA! There is very very little, if any crust so to speak (or 'pizza bones' as my niece calls them). I just love that! I love their sauce and the toppings. I'm so glad they filled the whole slice. Beyond that... The pizza always taste great! And you can't beat the wonderful waitresses, or Mark and Jeremy's dedication to serving their customers with a smile.. It's a very simple old-school Italian restaurant 'joint' with a full service but.narrow bar, in a tiny little building in the middle of a residential neighborhood, where you would never expect one of the best little restaurants in town to be hiding...but there it is, and we're so glad that the Denly's tradition continues year after year! read more

Don't order too late. They ran out of most of their pasta and instead of buffalo chicken wings, we got one chicken breast cut up into tiny pieces. Not worth $9 imo. Pasta we did get ended up mushy and overcooked. Pizza was good but it was cold because we sat waiting 10 mins for the "wings" and pasta even after waiting the 45min wait when we called in our order. Place hasn't seen a renovation in 50 years. Bathroom can be smelled when at the bar. Food is very good, but cashing out twice is for the birds. Cash out food, then cash out liquor.. Cashing out is already horrible, forcing people to do it twice is nonsense.. Just cash out people manually food and liquor. Make this seamless to the customer. I would rate this place 4.5 if Yelp let you do half stars. And only because of the parking because the food is Amazing!!! There's a lot across the street with about 12 spots (although it fills up quick) and you can park out front on the street. It's family owned and you can tell because they put their heart into their recipes! I got a medium pizza with onions, peppers and basil. Oh-Em-Gee!!! Freaking amazing! Sauce, cheese, toppings all added perfectly and the basil was so fresh!! I was in heaven eating this! Had such an amazing pizza I had to return 2 days later and get the homemade meatballs with the homemade stuffed shells! Unbelievable! Meatballs are so juicy and flavorful, sauce is best I've ever had and the stuffed shells were overflowing with the most scrumptious cheese! Tons of pizzas and dishes on the menu and I can't wait to try them all!! It's not a huge restaurant but it gets packed! The neighborhood knows good food. They have a small bar with a tv. Used to frequent Denly Gardens many years ago until I learned I was gluten free. Learned recently that they now have gluten free pizza crust. Optimistically expecting the same great pizza from all those years ago, we were sadly disappointed. I ordered the gluten free Bianca and my husband ordered the regular crust Denly's Super. Both lacked everything that used to make Denly pizzas great. Ingredients were sparse and I've had better gluten free crust. The Mesclun Salad was just MEH with wilted greens. We won't be going back. I've only tried the cheese pizza. I thought the pizza was great, nice thin New York style. I would have given the restaurant five stars but it's a zoo on a Friday. Placed order at 5pm and waited 1 hour 45 mins for it, was told would be about hour. Watch out they take cash only. Place is old inside but nice people and due to COVID19 it's pick up only. There is one person who is taking the phone orders, in person orders, and cutting and packing the pizzas....not efficient. I will order again just not on a Friday. read more
