Dr Lin is the best... All these reviews are correct. He is very professional very welcoming and warm, he use to be a vision consultant/examiner for schools and for that reason I liked him even more. My visit today was because my sons school said he needed an extra consultation. So, like everyone, I used yelp to help guide me in picking the correct optometrist based on good reviews and in my nearby area. My son was scared but Dr. Lin and his staff are friendly and fast. So I called in yesterday wanting to make an appointment since my eyes have been hurting lately and the receptionist was so rude to me. I have been coming here for a few years now and I don't think I will be coming back. I kept telling her I need to make an appointment and she kept saying she will charge me $100 to see Dr. Lin. He never charged me in the past to see him if something was bothering me. Because of her, my husband and I will take our business elsewhere. I don't need to put up with her rudeness. Very happy with Dr. Lin. Even though he's located in Monterey Park/East LA, it's a nice office. Dr. Lin took my appointment over the phone and walked me through all my insurance questions himself. He was fine with me purchasing my contacts online instead of through his office (so I could save money). The staff are friendly and nice, they even serve you bottled water while you wait. Made an appointment for a Saturday and although the office was busy, they were able to assist me immediately. Very efficient and friendly staff, and Dr. Lin was equally helpful. He answered all my questions regarding contacts and prescription glasses and was not only thorough but also broke it down in simple terms. Just went to Dr Dennis Lin's Optometry for my annual exam and to get my eyes double checked to see if my prescription has changed and there has been a little change in my prescription where my eyes need to see little letters even if it's far away.Out of all the optometrists I've seen as a patient Dr Dennis Lin is the one I'd recommend out of all the optometrists because he's very through when seeing your eyes and he and his friendly staff are easy to talk to. Dr Lin is very nice and thorough, He used to have an older chinesse lady who did the pre exam she was very nice and funny, the second time I went I was sad not to see her :(, This time they had my glasses ready within 2 days. Dr. Lin is one of the best doctors I have seen. He is very patient and friendly. Ok, here is my story, after I got my prescription, I went to a glasses shop immediately for my new glasses. I then got my new glasses about 3 days later, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with this new glasses, I was dizzy, had headache, and I could not wear the pair more than 15 minutes!! So I called Dr. Lin and explained the problem, Dr. Lin immediately scheduled me an appointment for the next day. After reexamining my prescription and the glasses, we found out that there was no problem with the prescription; the problem was the glasses. Dr. Lin told me that I am very sensitive to glasses, so the glasses have to have the correct pupil distance and optical center, and the one I had did not have them measured correctly, and the frame was not level as well. Dr. Lin did not hesitate to write me a new prescription and indicated the detail information about my sensitivity to glasses. I then took the new prescription and glasses back to the store for a replacement. I just got my new glasses and everything seems better, but just to make sure this one is correctly made I will go see Dr. Lin tomorrow to double check it. In conclusion, I am a very picky person especially when it comes to my health, and I am so glad Dr. Lin is here always being very patient, and friendly. Dr. Lin really cares about my eyes. The only thing I didn't like about this place is that the selection of name brand frames was limited and they were all behind the counter so you had to ask to see each one you wanted to try on. I am accustom to them being on display so I can try them ALL on if I want... This was also mentioned in another review but I didn't think much of it at the time. I just paid a visit this past weekend. I've been a patient here since 2010 and I think in terms of doctors (Dr. Lin is really good), location (it is in a strip mall with ample parking, which is rare in Monterey Park), and staff, Dr. Lin is the best Doctor I've had. Prior to seeing Dr. Lin I went to a Dr.'s office in my neighborhood that is very very popular, and I switched because I had to wait 3 weeks to get my eye exam and I only started looking out of desperation, and I've been very pleased ever since. Dr. Dennis Lin's Optometry is one of the best offices I've been to thus far. I was pleased with the friendly/helpful staff, and the extremely short wait-time ( as compared to Linden Optometry where I had to wait over an hour just to see different doctors every time). My paper-work was pre-filled to save time, and the prices are decent especially because I don't have any vision insurance. With my complicated glasses/contact lens prescription, Dr. Lin took the time to assure it was correct and the perfect fit for me. He even ordered a couple different contact lens brands to let me try them out to see which I preferred! :) In addition to being helpful and caring, he also tries to educate me about the anatomy & physiology of my eyes. "the receptionists at this office were HORRIBLE!.. there was a huge LANGUAGE-BARRIER with the old asian lady receptionist, and the younger receptionist who spoke influence english was flat out RUDE. i have EyeMed Insurance which covers exam for both glasses and contacts, and an allowance for either frame and lens; or frame and contact. i have confirmed with my insurance prior to coming here. however, they told me that i could get only an exam for either glasses or contacts, and that if i wanted both i would have to pay out of pocket for the contact exam (WHICH IS SUCH A SCAMMING METHOD). i walked out of the office without seeing the optometrist because this seems like a SHADY OPERATION to me. i called my insurance when i got home to inform them of this optometrist in their network and warn them of the situation. they helped me look for another optometrist so i will make an appointment after this post. i hope my review helps those who are considering seeing Dennis Lin Optometry." read more

I have horrible eyesight, and feel anxiety every time I see an optometrist, but Dr. Lin makes the experience pleasant and really takes the time to explain things to you. I have been a patient of Dr. Lin's for the past 5 years. I love his European, American, and Japanese frame collection, which I have a few with the help of an extremely helping and courteous staff. They are great at picking and choosing the best frame for your face. Aside from his eclectic frame collection, Dr. Lin is a very thorough and thoughtful eye doctor. Upon my last visit, he noticed my recent problem with dry eyes. He added a pair of eye plugs, which has helped me tremendously. I no longer have to rest my eyes by closing them for periods of time throughout my workday. And even though the waiting period was only 10 minutes, he came out to make sure that I was comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Lin to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable, professional and caring eye doctor or for someone who is simply looking for the next pair of eyeglasses or shades. The vision in my right eye went downhill pretty quickly and I had been looking for a new Optometrist, so my brother recommended Dr. Lin after reading the reviews on Yelp. Dr. Lin and his office have been great and he makes sure I receive the best care. My right eye is pretty messed up and I don't have insurance but he made sure that i received the proper meds in sample form...even if it means taking A LOT of samples.
