I don't remember the last time I left a restaurant without tipping...oh, yeah, it was this time. We were ignored when we arrived, waited 5 minutes for our order to be taken and 30 minutes after that our food arrived. The server was nice and I'll give them that the food is not pre made so I will not make waiting for it part of this long complaint, however once the server went on break....Server went on break and the one supposed to cover passed by 15 times without looking at us. My wife even called her out 3 times and was ignored. The fourth time when my wife was finally not ignored by the server anymore, the server answered my wife's "do you know who is supposed to serve this table" with: "oh it was...who is on break, I was supposed to..." at that point they just lost me. I didn't talked to none of them anymore, I just paid at the register and my wife attempted to talk to the manager but he was cooking! Customer service was an overall zero, zero tip! read more

Waiters ignored us for 20 minutes after seating us and when we asked for a waiter man said no I'm not and kept walking

Went this morning, was only 3 people in the place, it took 30 minutes before we were waited on, was getting ready to walk out. Took another 25 min to get our food, It was COLD the bacon must have been left over from yesterday, one bite and that was it. Finally the waitress came by and ask if everything was OK told her the food COLD was, she just walked off. Went to the register to check out, told the lady there that we were very disappointed about the service and food, she just laughed and said "if you think this is bad, come back in about an hour and a half". Then she had the guts to ask how much tip I wanted to put on the check..LAST TIME for this place. was a real waste of $15.10 should have went to the Pancake House where I know everything is good, just wanted to see what this place was like. read more

If you want to be completely ignored by your waitress and waste two hours out of your day for an okay meal, then this is the place to go. We were promptly seated but 20 minutes later we were asked by the hostess/mgr (?), if we had been helped. I said no and we placed our order and asked for coffee. A minute later the waitress asked if the other lady took our order, I said yes and after that she never came back to serve us. Half hour later or more, we got our coffee along with our meal. We were polite enough to leave a tip but it was deserved. Forgot to mention that another waitress came around with a pot of coffee. Didn't bother to ask if we wanted more, filled my cup and spilled coffee on the table. Didn't look at me once. won't be going back. IHOP and the Waffle Shoppe have better wait staff and the food tastes better. read more

I understand with all the safety restrictions that are being put into place but, this was the worse visit ever. My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast. There was maybe 8 people in the whole place. We received our menus and silverware which included no napkin. We both ordered hot tea. Never asked if we needed sugar, so after she served us our tea we asked for some. We get our sugar and I open my cream and it squirts across the table. Now I have a table, seat and my hand with no napkins to clean it up and no employees in sight to get any. Had to use the bag the utensils came in to clean up the mess. Food get come kinda quick with little customers. Just had to keep asking for things ketchup, cream, sugar. We get 1 tea bag and the waitress was never around. Don't think I'll be going back there again. I shouldn't be surprised it was bad most of the time we would go before the virus quarantine. read more

After the second visit to this place and the food looked nothing like the picture in the menu, my husband complained. We were asked to leave or the manager would call the police. We complained to their corporate office and called the owner and nothing was done to rectify the situation. About 2 months later my husband stopped in and ordered a milk shake to go. Some young kid came out of the kitchen and told my husband to leave, that he was bad for business. We called their corporate office again and got no response. After 2 weeks with no response, we complained to the Better Business B. Finally the owner called back a month later. We again reminded her of the first call to her and told her about the milk shake visit. She said she would get back to me. She never did. I called her again and she called to tell me that it was safe to eat at her Denny's and that the manager stepped down sense the first call over another matter and is now cooking instead. I pointed out to her that she is still causing trouble for us from the kitchen and would probably spit in our food if we went back. The owner was very offended. I told her that this employee had not been fired over what she did, which is far worse than spitting in our food so what is to stop her. I will never eat at this Denny's again. We switched to IHOP and have since found out that we are not the only couple that has problems with this location. We still have not been offered anything to make this situation right by the Manager, Owner or Corporate Office. All my husband did was complain that the food was wrong again. read more

Waited for food for 40 minutes. Food did not come. Tired of waiting and left. We ordered simple meals. The cook was leaning against the grill waiting on orders. Our order was put in first. There were only a dozen people in the restaurant more than half had already received there meals before we were sat down. Not only was our ticket up first, but it came out last (actually not at all). This is the second time they have messed up our orders and we have only been there twice. It won't happen a third time. We went to I HOP and had fantastic food and service. Kudos to I HOP. read more

I've been going to Denny's since the 80s and this was the worst Denny's experience I have had. The good: the restaurant was not crowded, but then we were there at 7:00 in the evening The bad: we took my son there for his birthday. He wanted to get the free birthday grand slam. I wanted to try out those 3-course skillets that are advertised. My other son ordered the nachos. The restaurant was not crowded so I can't see how our orders got so botched up. The slam was passable. But the nachos was tiny... when I order the nachos at other Denny's it fills up a plate and is so much I have to take some home. My son ate the nachos and I gave him food off my plate to fill him up. I ordered the skillet which was supposed to come with a salad as an appetizer and a piece of pie for dessert. I got my meat skillet first and had to ask for my salad... which the ho-hum waitress went and poured out some wilted lettuce into a plate, drowned it in ranch dressing and put some cheese on it. I love salads but this was barely edible. My son's tea was murky and had a bad flavor... the water in Alamogordo is notoriously hard. How much would it cost these penny-pinchers to use filtered water? The waitress was over gossiping with the other workers, and did not come to check on us for about 20-30 minutes. In that time we had finished eating, and I never got my pie, and my son needed a refill which he never got. My son got up, and went over to where the employees were on their perpetual breaktime, and had to ask for my pie to go (I took it home and ate it, and even this was stale, hard crust, and dried out top). When he asked for the pie, the waitress apologized and said the skillets were something new to the menu and she didnt know how to serve them. So then we had to ask for the check, because this had not been brought to the table either. I was paying with debit card. And the horrible waitress had the nerve to ask how much I wanted to put on there as a tip. Considering I would have been happier eating at my own house and had a better dinner there, I was offended she asked for a tip, but I told her to put a few dollars on, at which she seemed like she wanted to comment that that was not enough. This experience turned me off to Denny's so much that I dont know if I will EVER eat at Denny's again. For sure not the Alamogordo Denny's. The waitress was inattentive and botched up our orders and serving of the food. The food was sub-par and the drink was bad. For $20+ I would be happier eating at a fast food joint or just at home. Neutral: this is a tiny Denny's, not much seating choice. The bacon was overcooked or had been sitting out too long, mummified. I did file a complain on Denny's website. I got a response from corporate that offered 20 percent off a future visit. But honestly, I dont want to visit Denny's again. read more

Waitress reeked of strong smelling cheap perfume which was a turn off and made the food taste funny. Order was taken but was wrong when the food was brought to us. Waitress was unprofessional and loud. First and last time at this establishment!! read more

The Denny's restaurant in Alamogordo, New Mexico was a huge letdown. I took my son there for his birthday a few months ago. It was after 7:00 in the evening the restaurant was nearly empty. We got a window table and ordered. My birthday boy ordered his free birthday slam breakfast. My other son ordered a nachos and I ordered a 3-course skillet meal. To begin with, the waitress got my order wrong every step of the way. I did not get my salad as the first course, I was brought my skillet, and had to request my salad which is part of the meal and supposed to be brought first. The waitress was busy gossiping with the other waitresses behind the counter and it took some work to get her attention. I got a limp, wilted salad poured from a bag onto my plate. It was not very appetizing at all. The iced tea my son ordered looked murky, really, Denny's should use purified water and not filthy tap water. His nachos was an extremely small portion and I gave him food off my plate. We had been done eating for a long time and the waitress never brought my dessert and my son had to get up and go request my pie I had ordered. I got my pecan pie and it was horrible, so hard I could not eat it, I would guess it had been sitting out for days to be so dehydrated, I had to take it home to the dogs. Now, overall this was a poor experience already. Our waitress was inattentive, got my order wrong on multiple levels, the food was poor quality to the point of some of it was inedible. She brought our ticket. I got out my debit card. At which point the awful woman had the nerve to ask if I was putting a tip on that. Obviously the lazy, poor mannered woman serving up bad food deserved no tip at all. But I told her to put a few dollars on as her tip. At which point she got this look on her face... as if she wanted a much bigger tip. My kids and I were extremely disappointed in the service, quality, and food of Denny's. I went home and the next day went to the website and filed a complaint. I got an email back from corporate, apologizing, and was offered a 15 percent discount on my next visit. But I never want to go back again... why would we? I can make better food at home in a better environment. It was my birthday recently and even with the free slam breakfast I could not be lured in. I will never eat at this Denny's again. The manager of this Denny's needs to work over the entire restaurant. Staff should be trained and watched over for their efficiency and courtesy. Food should be checked for freshness and quality. As it is, it is a horrible failure. read more

I walked in to Denny's wanting a friendly dinner, and they did not disappoint. Every customer was happily greeted as they walked through the door, and promptly seated. The waitress made sure I had what I needed the whole time. The food was great, and fairly quick, and the atmosphere homely. I recommend. read more
