We came to Denny's after watching a production of Respect at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center. The location of this Denny's is in the same parking lot as Motel 6. The inside of the restaurant kind of dated and small but it was clean. Our server was very kind and attentive. Now to the food. I usually get the grand slam breakfast but I decided to get the skillet. It was okay definitely not my favorite. My friend order steak with hash browns. She didn't like her steak at all. She sent it back but it came back undercooked. The manager was kind enough to remove the item off the check. She said that she comes to that location often and always gets the steak. This was the first time she didn't like how it was prepared. Overall, it's Denny's. We weren't expecting a 5 star experience. I would definitely come back if in the area.

Came to breakfast with my mom while oil was getting changed at Honda. We really enjoy coming to the Artesian location. Our server, Teresa, ALWAYS remembers us. Someone's we come regularly and at times it will be a few months between visits. She always has a warm and welcoming smile. We walk in and even if she's busy she will acknowledge us and just tell us to sit anywhere. I grab our menus and off we go. It gives us that small town feel in a city restaurant. The place is clean and inviting. The booths are spacious and there are more booths than tables. I really like that. Lots of windows, too!! Love having that natural light. On to the good stuff...the food! My mom LOVES their pancakes. Only pls r she really enjoys them. We ordered the $6 Everyday Value Slam--consisted of: 2 pancakes or you can have 2 slices of Brioche French toast or 1 biscuit n gravy, you also get 2 eggs, plus 2 bacon or 2 sausage links. We chose the bacon. We also had a senior 55+ omelette which is 2 egg omelette with caramelized onions, basin, tomatoes and cheddar cheese, hash browns and toast. It was fantastic! We also had 1 coffee and 1 iced tea. The coffee comes with a small carafe, so that was great we didn't have to wait for refills. The restaurant is located in a large parking lot with a hotel literally 30 steps away, no I didn't count, but it is a stones throw away from where I'm sitting. I told my mom those guests in the hotel are lucky they can have chest breakfast 1 min walking distance. Parking lot is clean and restrooms are as well. I forgot to add, the street this Denny is located isn't the best neighborhood, but never had a problem. It is also located off the 91fwy. The entrance and exit is right there. From the booth I'm sitting I can see the hotel and the freeway.

America is always pleasant each time i come here.. great place to have breakfast.. team is friendly..good ambiance..

    Slow service. Manager was unprofessional.

This complaint is to the woman manager at this location. There was a one man show cashier/server the day I came at 8:30 am. Obviously slow service. He was by himself working front and back. I waited patiently to be seated. He had to ring up customers, run to take other orders, pour coffee, get food from the back, etc. Customers were backed up. It took awhile to get seated, and longer for him to get my order in. My Food came out late and warm (not hot). Other customers kept looking around for service as they couldn't even order yet. Finally 40 minutes later when I finished my breakfast, the manager showed up to the front register. When I told her about guests waiting too long for service due to lack of help, she said "this is nothing"...as if I shouldn't complain. Kudos for the single hard working service guy who had to handle the whole restaurant by himself although he couldn't keep up, and I saw the stress in him as he rushed table to table. But rather than apologizing for the short staff and slow service, the lady manager at this location was unprofessional and downplaying the situation. To the manager: If you read this, then take it as constructive criticism to improve yourself and customer service. I also own a small business and often short staff. I always apologize first when I greet the customers "sorry for the long wait". That's professionalism.

    The charge to my card.

Why is it hard to get a refund for food that has not been delivered? Why ask me to call Uber to process my refund? Very terrible customer service!! Will never go to any Denny's.

The parking was pretty empty and there was no line, so why not? FYI there is overflow parking next door so do not fret if you can't find one in their little lot. The restaurant itself is like a cafe with pretty cool waitresses and bussers. There is a cute electric train that runs around the top ledge of the dining room which I thought was pretty cute. As for the food, I had the chorizo and eggs plate. It came with tortillas and refried beans. It was delicious and was simple but great. If needed, they have a soyrizo version too. Overall, pretty chill cafe and affordable. We will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club. Coffee was very good, but I wish someone would walk around constantly refilling cups. Overall, a decent spot with some room for improvement.

I think Rosewoods could be a great restaurant if it got remodeled, or at the very least, the food got an upgrade. Hahaha! We went here because it's a Long Beach icon…read more The breakfast was good (hard to screw up breakfast). My Friday morning breakfast club all enjoyed our meals. Our only complaint is that the restroom facilities for the place are outside the restaurant on the far end of the parking lot ... like an outhouse!!! LMAO! Since our breakfast club are a bunch of old farts every one of us had to make the trip, one twice, so there were complaints all around. It is what it is,,this place has been around for some 70 or 80 years and is a historic site (at least at the city level) and no one would want them alter the building. But none of the guys are asking to go back there. And I don't imagine they will. The service was excellent. An older lady we joked has probably been there since George was the busboy, but that is not fair, she's only in her 50s or 60s. She was attentive and put up with our group of old men, and one in particular who kept trying to flirt with her. I do recommend George's. Service is good, but it's honestly not the warmest. Every time we walk in everyone seems a bit unhappy, but I wouldn't say it affects the service. Just don't expect the warm and fuzzy feels walking in. Maybe everyone is just tired? It is family run, so maybe by the time we pop in (like12p-ish) they are spent? IDK, just thought I'd throw that out there. The place seems pretty clean, and it's decorated adorably! Very country chic, bright, and inviting. The biscuits were great, crispy on the edges, soft in the middle. The gravy was too salty for both of us. Both times I've been the local law enforcement was in having coffee, so you know the service isn't going to be horrible. And heads up for seniors, there's an early bird breakfast during the week for $10.95 for a basic breakfast. Right off the bat going to say a couple of the reviews weren't off...the coffee listed on the menu advertised refills, but truly, the mugs are small and there's not someone routinely walking around with a coffee pot like you might expect at a breakfast spot. And I too found a hair in my food...had not planned on mentioning this, but when another reviewer mentions it in less than a month's time, think it's time for management to review prep and food handling standards. On the positive side, I was able to get a coffee to go. And I wasn't going to complain about the hair (I found it halfway through finishing off my pancake), but I realized it was really stuck in there so needed to let them know they needed to likely toss that batch of batter. Having been restaurant management, I personally would have comped the ticket. But they did take off the pancake, in fairness, without my asking for a refund. But truly, it does pretty much end your meal (just took the rest of my omelette to go). The prices are steep, but I'm sure the overhead is not low...food costs are going up, staffing costs are up, and they have a large space with plenty of parking. All of that comes at a price. But the portions are good, and overall what I've had was tasty. I did give the place another shot after the pancake incident (truly, the pancake was a bit underwhelming, with an expansive menu I recommend trying something else). I tried the birria omelette and the carnitas omelette with the house potatoes. Taters were tasty, omelettes were fluffy and consistent. It was interesting how they plated. A basic cheese omelette with the meat layer on top. I also tried the loaded chili cheese fries. I ordered without onions as I'm not a raw onion fan. It comes topped with sour cream and some other sauce. I would recommend order both toppings on the side. There was so much sauciness that you could barely taste the chili, but it does fluff up the plate, so maybe there's a method to the madness there. Staff has been nice and polite, but I can see where some folks may have had a bad experience. You can tell there are some hard workers (both of my servers fell in this category), and there's a couple of slackers. But the manager on site should be floating so that they can keep an eye on the operation (front and back of house), and check in with diners. Just my two cents. Definitely worth a try if you've never been.
