My husband and I wanted something on Christmas day. He wanted a burger and fries and I wanted a hot fudge sundae. The kids wanted some french fries. We call everywhere and knowingly enough nobody was open. This place was and it was close and it had 4 stars. Neither of us have eaten at Denny's in more than 10 years. We call to find out about burgers and Sundays, find out a classic burger plate with fries is 6 dollars. And yea they do have hot fudge sundaes for $2.99 cents.. and guess what they even had a kid mini banana split. I place the order... classic burger and fries plate please. 1 extra order of fries please. 1 hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge please. Ahh wait... husband wants 1 too make that 2 please. I'll take that mini kids banana split for both my children to split as well. We get there sit in a car for about 10 minutes. Husband go then get food takes about 10 or 15 more minutes. He comes out yummy smells delicious. We drive away and head home. He opens a bag and pulled up this giant and I mean giant container big oval platter looking thing... it had the burger and about 6 fries in there. I could not believe it. Everything was flopping all around inside is huge container. We get to the ice cream, wouldn't you know there is no hot fudge it is more like a Hershey's syrup. There is no extra side of fries. There is also no banana split. And wouldn't you know it's all on the receipt. I call back to tell the guy the order is wrong. My husband said he was the manager. He tells me he knows it was right he made it himself. For about 5 minutes we literally argued on the phone about this order being wrong. Finally he told me he can make what is missing and he's not arguing. I told him that's all I wanted to begin with stupid. I know this is going to take a few minutes. As we are waiting and eating some of the ice cream that we did receive, I look at the receipt again. I now realize that stupid burger plate with 6 french fries was not 6 dollars, It was 8 dollars. And the extra. Side of fries was 2 dollars and 29 cents. I call back tell me about the price mistake. Okay so he's going to reimburse the money for the difference. Now we're back at Denny's, husband goes back in. Comes back out with 2 dollars and a side of fries. We are opening the fries...guess how many there are in there this time, 10. Absolutely horrifying customer service. Absolutely not enough food for the price. We played hell getting order right and getting the money back. The burger was MEH The fries were MEH The hot fudge sundaes were...NOT HOT FUDGE... At all. It was chocolate syrup there's a big difference. Customer satisfaction= Pissed off and disappointed to say the least. Merry f'ing Christmas Denny's we will never go back. read more

We most recently went here on the ROT rally weekend so our expectations weren't too high. I must say though, we really had a great experience. First, our wait was much shorter than they told us at first. Working in service myself, I know the idea of underpromis and over deliver. We were pleasantly surprised. Second, the food came out a little slow, but our server made sure we were taken care of the whole time. I was really impressed with how she handled all the people that were in the restaurant. Third, once the food came out, it was all really hot and tasted great. I wanted to note that because when we have been places for breakfast and they are packed, the food tends to come out cold. Do not order pickup or visit during late night hours especially while there's construction going on. After 30-40 minutes of driving in circles trying to find a way to access the parking lot I had to give up. I called and was told how to access and the instructions I was given only brought me to road closed barricades and crack heads trying to open my car doors. Awful experience, I ended up re-ordering from a much safer and accessible location just 7 minutes away. Hopefully a refund will be given when I find time to call a manager. read more

This Dennys is the worst in connecting and providing the appropriate information to patronize this less than average establishment! They have a security guard asking you to call in orders because they are short staffed. Look. I understand the shortage in food service emoyees, but I have money...drive to the restaurant. Period! Your lack of management is not my concern. I'll never go back due to the lack of information. Then when I told the waitress about it...she got an attitude. Tipped her 5 dollars and left. Folks it cost me 5 dollars to get away from Denny's ...never to return. You need to find a way to make it work! Service sucks here too. I started this review after waiting for more then 15 min for a simple order. Manager took my order initially but had no clue what to do after that. Another girl came and took my order again with the manager dictating what I ordered confirming with me sitting there, very disorganized. This is a busy Denny's on the southbound side of I-35 near 183. The dining room is small, which can make for wait times on Sunday mornings. The staff does a really good job of turning over tables as well as giving good estimates of wait time. The fare is nothing different then you'd get at any Denny's. No issues with quality (i.e. heat, presentation, accuracy) any time I've been here. I will say having been here a few times, it always seems to be well managed, the acting manager is actively trying to improve the operations and customer experience. The kitchen gets the food out, it's of expected quality, and the servers aren't so overworked they lose track of your table. I like sitting at the bar for quicker service. The best seats might be around the corner of the bar near the restrooms, where it's just 4 seats and a big screen TV right in front of you. Perfect if you are by yourself and want a little privacy. There are a lot of good places in Austin to grab a more leisurely breakfast, this is a place to come and get something familiar, and move on with your day. read more

This morning my colleagues and I ordered several Everyday Value Slams which we understand comes with bacon, egg, and pancakes. However, upon returning to our office we realized that every single plate only had bacon and eggs, no pancakes. We then proceeded to call the Denny's and the manager told us that they actually made the pancakes but forgot to add them to our plates. We asked if they could credit/refund 50% of our overall purchase OR have one of the employees deliver the pancakes to us. The manager at the location then told us that they do not deliver (at no additional cost) and that they could not credit us the 50% like we asked, because the pancakes had already been made. He mentioned that the only option was for us to come and get the pancakes ourselves. This eventually turned into an unwanted debate as the manager proceeded to raise his tone. We're not sure if this is the standard Denny's customer service but we will certainly not be ordering from your restaurant again. We write this in hopes that you'll become aware of how disrespectful and arrogant the management is at this location. read more

I don't know if the manager read the previous bad reviews or what, but I had a really good experience. My family and I got here on a Saturday at 11:30am. Place was packed. The manager was here and told us it was a 15min wait for four of us. We waited no more than 10min and we were seated. Probably because another couple ahead of us left haha. But anyway, waitress was super attentive not only to our table, but I noticed she was often checking other tables to see if they needed anything despite the busy atmosphere. She forgot the pancakes for one of our plates, but apologized and hustled to bring them over to our table almost immediately. She also had our coffee and drinks refilled constantly. Was always nice. I have been to several Denny's across the country..and you pretty much know what to expect. BUT...this has to be the cleanest and most cheerful Denny's I have visited! I don't usually write on popular chain places (Starbucks or Midas or Subways), cause everyone uses them, but I was very impressed by this Denny's that I had to throw them some props. First off, I eat at 24 café a lot in South Austin, the food is excellent there with big portions, but fricking expensive ($25 or more for a breakfast with Coffee and juice). Coming to this Denny's for the first time, I ordered Whole Grain French Toast with honey and berries, bacon and coffee. For 10 bucks, this was damn good tasting food! Almost as good as 24! Compared to most diners, your bang for the buck here goes really far (at least judging by my breakfast experience). I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was great too, and to top it off: GREAT COFFEE. I don't know if it's a gauge of whether or not this country is going down the drain, but good coffee is a skill lost upon this current generation, and Starbuck's isn't filling that void in any capacity anytime soon. Dammit America! Its not the Taliban, Economic policies or foreign threats that are endangering us, its COFFEE MAKING! Came here for French toast slugger, they said they are out of French toast WTF. I said I guess put pancakes with it, she said I can switch it to the regular slam which is 8.99 - my original French toast slam is only 8.00. She said it is because it has 2 pancakes. If you look on the 2-4-6-8 menu you can get the value slam for 6.00 minus the toast and I can alacarte the toast for 99 cents. She told me none of this ( so I could have had that order for 6.99). I scrapped the pancakes since I wanted French toast really and added an apple crisp. She comes back and says they don't have vanilla ice cream, how about strawberry - because that sounds good together right?! I said how are you out of so many items, she replied the truck comes tomorrow as if that makes sense. Oh it comes tomorrow so it's cool if you run out today I guess. It's not like you are running a 24hr dinner or anything, great planning. The customer service was none existent and not even a half-assed apology for missing the ingredients for half my order. Awful place near what appears to be a labor hall area. First server was so loud I couldn't hear myself think about what I wanted to order. After respectively saying " Mam, you are kind of loud," she brushed me off as if it didn't matter. My husband went to ask for a different server. Today I went for breakfast and ended up waiting an hour to get seated because of the managers mistake who called my name first, got us seated and then told my family and I that we had to wait back in line because he called the wrong name. Then we waited about 40 minutes to get seated until he saw us again waiting and finally attended us aggressively. I then asked I wanted to talk to the manager and he said the manager was at home and that he was the owner. I asked if he could do anything he responded no he couldn't and that nobody is perfect and left. He then came back aggressive and said he was going to do something but he won't anymore.
