Been going to this Denny's off and on for about 6 months. There are two servers that have a sour attitude. One is a Russian woman and the other one is Wendy. Wendy who looks like some old barfly wearing jordash jeans with sequences on the back. Wendy has a loudmouth she likes to talk across the restaurant she also likes to talk down to the cooks. When you're ordering from the Russian woman an you tweaking your order just a little bit she rolls her eyes like she can't be bothered. Well Russian woman no tip for you. And Wendy she's got an attitude toward new customers. You're trying to finish telling her what you want and she's in a hurry to turn around and leave and go back and yell at the cooks acting like she's the franchise owner. Wendy no tip for you. If you don't like being a server being subservient to people you're in the wrong line of work. read more

I feel for the staff. They only had the one server and 2 cooks. The place started to get busy a d she keep her cool. Guess her other server decided to go home, told her it was too slow. The service is good for such an area and the food is actually quite good most of the time. Stopped here during my trip to California and let me just say the food was good. The fries were cooked to perfection. The burger itself was good but, could have been more flavorful and savory but thats it. The older waitress lady was awesome... I wish I got her name to shout her out but, she wears glasses and has grey hair with a ponytail. Very professional service she came over and filled my water glass without me having to say anything. Service was on point how it should be. The environment was chill I came here around 8pm in the evening. On my way back I will definitely come here again. Five star for the service 5/5. Benson is a small town and it's not, uhhhhmmmmmm. . . gastronomically advanced. Normally, I'd NEVER go to a Denny's. However, although I don't iive in town, it is the closest place for shopping, so I find myself in Benson once a week. One day I broke down and went to Denny's to eat. Boy, was I surprised. And I mean pleasantly surprised. First of all, the staff there, at least in my experience, is always friendly and welcoming. Second of all, while the food generally takes a few minutes longer to arrive than I would prefer, it comes in a reasonable time. Third of all, the food is hot and fresh. Most importantly to me, they are willing to switch out one part of the meal for another. This is especially critical in my case because I am a vegetarian and, too, my doctor has ordered me to not eat this. Or that. Or any number of things. So I have to be picky. And you know how Denny's likes to lump things together, such that you end up with four different items on your plate even if you thought you only wanted one. The odd thing is that every time I come, while the server says I can switch out the meat for something else, what I can get always changes. Sometimes it's a little fresh fruit plate. Sometimes it's a little salad. You know what? I don't care. They always offer me something I want. They always try. And I can guarantee to you that not every restaurant in Benson will do that. I'd give them five stars but, you know, it is Denny's. Far as I can tell, the only spice they use is salt. Everything is solidly average and everyday, designed for people who have never, well, I won't say it. No need to be unkind. And the food is higher in calories than need be. But for a once-in-a-while breakfast or lunch? It is a solid four star experience, which means it is better than a bunch of other places to eat in Benson. read more

Stopped in for a quick dinner hoping for pancakes and eggs, simple and tasty. Service was a bit slow it seemed like they were being reviewed by some Dennys regional manager or something. Had the cinnamon pancakes and that was a mistake they are super sweet and way over and iced. The hash browns and eggs were as expected. The chicken fried steak was ok the mashed potatoes seem like home fries mashed up and the corn was almost bleached. Not what we expected for Dennys but it was food and it served to fill us for the evening. Would not stop here again. Will still have Dennys pancakes because they are my favorite. read more

Despite the nasty weather, the place had several people eating dinner. The hostist/waitress greeted, and seated me promptly, after I walked up to the counter. After having some time to browse the menu, I decided on the slow cooked pot roast, with sauteed onions and mushrooms. And, rice pilaf and red potatoes for my sides. Despite the rice and potatoes needing some seasoning, the meal was very good. However, the potatoes where is served home fries style (I've always had 'em boiled). The hostess did check up on me 2 times. But, rather than asking me if I wanted any dessert, she just brought me the check. But, I went ahead and ordered it anyway. I had wanted lemon meringue pie. But it was frozen. However, without asking, she brought me cookies and cream pie. It was pretty good. But, nothing to write home about. We were seated in Wendy's section. Had excellent service! Chicken fried steak was very tender. No knife needed. Rustic mashed potatoes a little on thin side. House salad was fresh and crisp. I visited a few times at different hours of the day / night. I never lacked for anything, the food was superb and cooked properly. The handmade burgers here are better than the other leading establishments in Benson. (except for the 5 star Horseshoe Cafe) IMHO Denny's ranks #2 in this town. By far the worst Denny's I have ever been to. The quality and quantity of the food was terrible. The avacado bacon hamburger was missing bacon, when they brought bacon, it was burnt. We were staying at the hotel near this Denny's, we ordered online for a pickup and told us it was going to take 18-20 minutes. No problem, until we went in to get the food. We were offered help by a friendly woman in colorful dreadlocks. She returned to let us know that, while she was on break, the order didn't get noticed but she will work on it right away. Ok, obviously disappointed, but she came back with the food fairly quickly and we were off, until we realized that the utensils weren't in the order. It's hard to eat food without utensils. Ran back. Asked the same woman for a spoon and two forks ( we had apple pie with ice cream and cheesecake). She got three forks for us and said that the utensils weren't ordered. Or at least I think that's what she gave for an excuse. other than rolling my eyes that the food order was ignored, I was as pleasant as anyone can be, going so far as to thank her. the online ordering isnt much to talk about but I thought it said check this box if you don't need utensils. Regardless of the issue all this person would have had to do was grab a few utensils and return without a word and I wouldn't have thought twice about this experience. Plus, you have to leave a tip online before getting your food. So this place sucks for service and the online precessed was just as lousy. Btw. Denny's in Benson off I-10 is Denny's, that says everything. I was horribly sad when a cook $50 mistake and the manager made employee pay it back. I slipped the employee the 50 dollars. These guys that work so hard for us sometimes really need not loose half a days wages. read more

We always love to see our favorite servers here! The food is always what you expect and the dining areas are clean. Women's bathroom is usually not so tidy but I blame that on those who are the pigs in the restroom. Why are women's restrooms usually filthy? Is it because nobody is watching? We eat here at least once a month for the past 4 years. I love this Denny's. Every single time the food is tremendous. And our waitress, Rose, last night was exceptional! Stopped at this Denny's near Benson Arizona on my way home from a motorcycle event near Douglas AZ for a late night meal. We were seated quick, the staff was super attentive and the restrooms were very clean. The food however was deplorable, The bacon was burnt, the ham was seriously over cooked (black ring around the edges), the sausages had the texture of card board due to being burnt, no butter on my toast and the iced tea...had no ice. It was all tasteless and the pancakes were dry. They had no onion rings and the sampler was not any better...bad cook in this particular Denny's location. I hopeI just stopped at the wrong time and that this is not a norm for this Denny's. The server was great though and very attentive. It was very cold in the dinning area too! Ahhhh Dennys... it's the same everywhere you go. This particular one here in Benson is AWFUL because of the service and your food always being forgotten. I've been here at least a gazillion times since they've opened which is more years than I'd like to say. A majority of the time unless it's a Saturday or Sunday they are very slow. I'm not even going to talk about Sunday because you can't give zero stars. The food: eh it's dennys. It's usually the same flavor. I like processed foods so I like the fake stuff they provide me with. 3 stars for that. The service: minus 2 stars from the 3 stars. I could go on and on but let me just say it simply. If you want fast service then you will have better luck at the Wendy's on 4th. Just don't go here hungry and you won't starve to death! Be warned. read more

We were excited to learn there was a Denny's so close to where we live - as we just moved to Benson. After a long day of loading and moving and unloading we were tired and starving! When we arrived, there were maybe 3 other tables seated and the Hostess brought us to our table. There were quite a few of us so it took us a while to decide where everyone was going to sit - I guess it took too long ... she simply dropped all the menus on the table and walked away. Our server was very nice, as he was the only one on the floor tonight, but we could see he was busy. When the food started coming out, there were a few orders that were wrong- but were corrected. The quality of the food was a little disappointing. However, our Server (James) did a good job! We will eat here again - so, I hope the next visit is less disappointing. read more

F*ed up beyond measure! Forth of July, yes a long wait. No worries. Sat at counter, another two folks sat next to us a few minutes later. They are served first while we sit. After ten minutes... finally. Had order taken... 40 minutes the folks to right got their food... us nothing. Three larger tables that all sat after us.... served and we STILL don't have our F*ing food. We ask, one order then ours, another five minutes nothing. Either they have improved their service and food since the previous negative reviews, or I got lucky. The service was excellent with three separate people asking me if I needed anything and them refilling my glass without having to be asked. Not the best experience at a Denny's. The bathrooms were not really not dirty but had a bad stench. In the eats bag area the tables were dirty and the floors had trash and food on them. Friends of waitress sitting at the bar were stoned and then they were playing with a taser and the cooks over here laughing with them. Last night I went to Denny's, the first time in about two months and the service could have been so much better. I try to give the waitress a chance because she could've been new. My partner and I never got any refills (we had a coffee and root beer) and I never got my water being there the whole time. She stopped by several times but we never got drinks. You shouldn't have to ask for refills majority of time. When we got out food, we got buffalo wings instead of bbq and mistakes happen so I wasn't too annoyed, however it took them a solid 10 minutes to come back out so by that time we finished out food. The portion of the sampler was pathetic. It was all for $20 which was not even worth it. read more
