But I only go here for breakfast and I give Denny's a huge kudos for perfecting breakfast... finally gave the most important meal of the day the attention it deserves! Coffee: Great coffee. Love the fresh cream but I wish they would give me a pitcher! It only happened once. I think I need to figure out the code word. Randomness: It's cold as Antarctica in there! Bring a sweater ladies and/or be "that girl" and ask not to sit near the vents! Food: Build your own slam is the greatest invention ever. Honestly I think the best value for your money considering the options you can pick from. No place in town lets you pick, choose and substitute without charging you $3 for a side of bacon! When I want breakfast but want to feel kinda sorta healthy I have to give Denny's an A+ for their choices and the remarkably good flavor. Egg whites, whole wheat pancakes, turkey bacon and chicken sausage patty (the flavor is awesome!)... I'm satisfied without being stuffed and I get my fill of pancake goodness. The nutty flavor of the pancakes is fantastic. Some of my (dare I say it) favorite pancakes in town. Plus, hard to believe, they have sugar free syrup and I like it better than regular syrup! Oh and $4 all you can eat pancakes! Yeah. Good deal. I visited the Bloomington Illinois store and a very nice worker named Charles was the only server working. He immediately apologized in advance that it may take longer than usual to get our food. Our food was served hot and delicious. He was prompt with refilling drinks and was super friendly. Even though he was very busy, he was still polite, friendly and prompt. After reading the other reviews my expectations weren't great but we had to stay nearby so tried Denny's (haven't eaten at the chain in years). The waitress was fantastic and so was the breakfast. The outside of the building had a lot to be desired but it was just fine on the inside...and I'm very picky about where I eat and sleep. Would go back!!! read more

This Denny's is excellent! The service was incredible. I had plenty of coffee in my cup at all times. Which by the way, there is just something about their coffee that taste so much better than other restaurants. The menu had a great selection and some very reasonable items. I tried these things that looked like giant donut holes. They called them some type of breakfast hushpuppies or something. I brought some home and my nine year old nephew loved them! I've been to this location twice and haven't had any complaints either time. The food was hot and good. The portion sizes were large and the service was good. The first time I had breakfast (omelet). It was comparable to any other chain (Waffle House, Bob Evans - iHop is better). Second time I had the half nachos. Pretty good, though it seems like there was more cheese and sour cream than meat. I also tried their iced coffee. It reminded me of how McDonald's iced coffee tastes, which is good. I wanted the caramel, but they were out of the flavoring since it's apparently a limited time thing. Definitely worth a try if you aren't sure what you want since they have a little of everything and serve it anytime. read more

I placed an online order for delivery with Denny's and after waiting an hour for my food I call them and they say your food is still sitting here waiting to be picked up. I said okay who is picking up my food. They say door dash. I say okay I'll wait. 10 mins later I call Denny's back and my food is STILL sitting there. So I say that's okay just cancel my order and issue me a refund. They tell me they can't do that (give me a refund) because I need to call door dash. Why would I need to call them if I placed my order and paid for my food with Denny's? Mind you I am at work dealing with this. So I leave work to drive to Denny's to speak to a manager. When I get there she says door dash said you cancelled your order. I say how? When I didn't order from door dash I ordered from you! She had door dash customer service on the phone just for the lady to tell me the same thing I was trying to tell Denny's. The merchant will have to refund me my money. Not door dash...long story short Denny's is telling me I have to wait until tomorrow to get my money. Denny's use to be a place i would go to when i was really hungry and wanted a variety of food. Now they have changed their menu and personally i think it sucks. My grandma wanted a hot turkey sandwich and all those types of sandwiches are off the menu now. She then ordered a grilled chicken breast and asked for a baked potato and they dont have those anymore either....along with applesauce and cottage cheese. These are the essential sides for kids thru the elderly! The macaroni and cheese is made with a white sauce and it was not good at all. On the plus side they are aiming for a more healthy menu. I had the avocado and bacon cheese burger and fries and it was great except for the very stale bun. Best part about the meal was the side salad. Waitress was terrible and we had to ask for silverware twice. It is nicely remodelled but very drafty by the windows. Will not be going back! read more

We had an excellent server (Bonnie). Their menu was well layers out and easy to read. There were some weight watcher friendly choices (you could find a meal around 10 points) and my bun was whole wheat! The good came in a timely manner but was not too flavorful (chicken avocado). Healthy portion though (I am full!) a bit steep. It was about 10$ for a saneich, one side, and a side salad. Kids 10 and under eat free tues and thurs. they have a game room, private room, free wifi and its open 24 hours. Staff was lacking some as it took some time to pay. read more

I am a fan of Denny's. Me and my family go there often it's always a choice whenever going through options to go eat out for dinner or breakfast. I personally love the sampler because I can get different foods in one meal. I usually get the chicken strips, mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, and the cheese quesadilla. It's always delicious and definitely hits the spot. Though the last time we went we sad down and waited about 15 and we were never waited on so we got up and left. Pretty disappointing, we ended up going to Steak 'n Shake instead. Probably will be going back again considering it was a one-time bad experience. The waiters and waitresses are always kind and I don't think have ever messed up on e of our orders which is rare. Another favorite option of mine is the pancakes they are fluffy and yummy but super filling as I can maybe finish one half lol I do recommend this resteraunt all in all. read more

We arrived at the Bloomington, IL Denny's for dinner with our 93 year old, WWII Veteran father and were disappointed from the get-go. One customer in the restaurant...second day with the dining room open...waited for 3 minutes with the hostess' back to us...no acknowledgment whatsoever. Eventually she seated us and we made two disconcerting observations: 1. The floor was so incredibly sticky it was literally as if it had been mopped with syrup and cola. Our shoes stuck to the floor with each step. "YUCK!" 2. The restaurant smelled like an old, dirty home. You know, the smell of dirty socks and cat box. We talked about how, after more than two months of being closed, one would think they might have done a spring cleaning. No such luck. We decided, against our better judgment to remain. 15 minutes later, after not so much as a greeting or offer to take our drink order, we left. We are now at Cracker Barrel. Smells nice. No sticky floor. Seated and almost immediately greeted by our waitress. I can confidently say we will never visit Denny's again. Inappropriate waitstaff; Lionel to the rescue; food on point June 26th, 2-3 pm. Some of the waitstaff were very disruptive to the restaurant atmosphere. They were standing behind the counter thing on the right side of Denny's. Now, I get it. It's denny's. So, I just kinda shrugged and said "whatever". However, towards the end of my meal, the waitstaff seemed to be talking as though customers could not hear them. Again, I get it. We all talk behind the scenes in a way that might not be appropriate around customers, but these ladies are within 5 feet of us! Specifically (and the reason for my writing my first review ever), one of the waitstaff pointed out how "disgusting" one of the exiting customers looked. What they said was extremely inappropriate, as they were talking about that customer's breasts. That being said, Lionel was a bright spot for our experience. He was very professional in unprofessional setting, and maintained composure while his co-workers seemed to show no regard towards the customers' ears. Food was excellent. read more

Denny's is usually pretty consistent food wise (don't ever order the spaghetti with marinara sauce unless you want it to be swimming in store bought sauce). I think their salads are pretty good. Sometimes the service can be a little bit slow regarding refills and stuff like that, but I never had a real problem with any servers, they're friendly and respectful. The food also comes out in a timely manner and is fresh and hot. The renovations also made it look very nice inside. read more
