This Denny's has been at the quiet corner of my restaurant experience for a long time and it has seen tumultuous times. Old reliable for diners in the area. Dramatically improved from the late 2010s, the staff is helpful and basically fantastic. They work hard with low support from management and corporates random menu decisions. The food you get is usually good and the cooks do great with what they have. The only thing holding it back is in a never ending argument with corporate to return to 24hr and staff appropriately. Most of the time this doesn't interfere with my experience. But if we could get back the original Denny's service hours this place would be king of the area diners bar none. read more

This Denny's is no longer 24 hours so check its hours before you come here late at night. Denny's is located a short drive from the interstate, it's the next entrance after the Sunoco 7-Eleven. Large parking lot, so parking is never an issue. Interior has lots of seating. It's your standard Denny's: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Desert. Food and service is generally good, but ask if they are out of anything before ordering. What's the advantage for this Denny's? Bloomsburg's has an odd fast casual restaurant situation with many closing around 10PM, or in the case of Applebee's, a wait of at least 20-30 minutes for seating. You can be ordered and dining here in that same amount of time. Overall, it's Denny's. Order some breakfast. read more

I noticed my last review was from 10 years ago, boy how time flies. Update to my review: About a few years ago we had 5 bad experiences at this Denny's and didn't return for a while. We gave it another chance about a year and a half ago and found that it was under new management as we mentioned our past discrepancies to our waitress. We haven't been let down since. The restaurant quality that we knew 10 years ago was back! We love this Denny's, again. We've noticed cleanliness, temperature settings, food quality, and staff members and approved of it all. We even stopped by during a couple of Thanksgiving's when we didn't have a big family gathering. When I was younger I worked for several restaurants and catering services and found that employees can make or break the business. Our family jokes about calling local restaurants to see if the good cook or bad cook is working that day so we can make our decisions on where to eat beforehand :o) read more

We ordered online for an in-store pickup, and I sent my son in to pick it up. I saw two workers standing outside smoking and thought nothing of it, thinking that it was two people on break, but that's when my son messaged me saying no one was at the registers to help him. He waited a little while longer and I watched the two workers go back inside. A minute or two later he came out holding the bag and told me that the workers hadn't even asked what he was there for, they just set the bag in front of him. He didn't say anything to them, much less about picking up an order, and they had just assumed thats what he was there for and put the bag in front of him. Came to this Dennys location while visiting a good friend in Bloomsburg. I have to say, this location definitely breaks the stigma about Dennys being gross or only for truckers late at night. i personally had an omelette with hash browns. unfortunately they put sausage in it when i did not order sausage, but i don't even mind because our waitress was so nice and she even took it off the bill for me! unfortunately i couldn't have the pancakes because it's passover, which i was slightly upset with, but that is irrelevant to the restaurant itself. all the staff were very nice and the location was overall very welcoming. you could definitely notice a sense of camaraderie amongst the staff, which is always a great sign of a well functioning dennys. overall very nice and i would definitely go if i come to visit my friend again! read more

Man's basic needs are shelter, food, and water. Man can survive for 30 days without food, 3 hours without a proper shelter, and 30 minutes without water when you feed your customers salty chicken and rice. Several days ago, a few friends and I came to Denny's to get a QUICK bite to eat. My cousin and I decided to get a milkshake to start. After a little while, we then ordered our meal, in which I ordered a chicken and broccoli skillet. As we were waiting for our food to come out, I finished my milkshake, satisfied with the smooth, creamy beverage. Our food then comes out after, say 20 minutes. The waitress, noticing that my milkshake is gone, asks if I want a glass of water. I accept the offer and start digging into my skillet. The taste, I can only describe with one word; salty. This is not just regular salt, no no no no. This is the salt that an angsty teenager feels when denied a concert t-shirt. This is a type of salt only felt by the angriest of self-entitled, middle-aged mothers that demand the manager when their attempt at getting free merchandise goes awry. I could feel my tounge shrivelling up from the salt that I'm intaking. My need for water is growing, and all I have is the remnants of my milkshake to survive. It's been 15 minutes, so far, and I'm panting like a dog on a hot summer day. The waitress comes by again to see how our food is. I desperately ask for the water promised to me not too long ago, but alas, she walks away, not hearing me. After this long ordeal, after my several pleas for water to waitresses passing by, after 30 minutes, I see a sight that I will never forget. The clear glass, glistening in the ceiling lights, filled to the brim with refreshing life juice. I had finally received my water. My basic needs were fulfilled at the last possible second. So I had dinner tonight, and due to some snowstorms, there was only one server working; however, I was still amazed at the service. We got our food quickly and everything tasted great! It's Denny's, enough said. However being the Yelper I am, I'll explain. I've worked here in high school and I still come here for a breakfast every once and awhile when I'm in the area. They foods ok, there's only about 3 or 4 things I'll constantly get, however some new editions to the breakfast menu are pretty dang good. Now the real reason I still am eh about this place. The service is so sporadic, one day your food will come out fast and no problems, the next day your waiting forever for your order to be taken and then your food takes 40 minutes and they forgot half of it. Denny's is known for its 24/7 availability, cheap greasy food, and quick service... The good news is this place doesn't disappoint! There's nothing too exciting about this particular location except for it's location to the interstate, which makes it convenient to get to... Stopped in for dinner which was a huge mistake from step one. Our host was a direct cut from Napoleon dynamite his awkwardness was amazing. I'm surprised he left the confines of his closet long enough to meet the sun. On to the good. Ordered nachos first.while they were good the size resembled a small at the local fair. This place suffers from what all of the Bloomsburg area chain restaurants suffer from. Horrible service. Sometimes the service is passable. And other times, like tonight, are horrendous. Total time from the time we were seated to the time when we got our food was 55 minutes. It was a Sunday night, and the place was packed, but it looked like they only had 3 wait staff working. My macaroni and cheese was cold but I didn't feel like waiting another 20 minutes for a replacement. We even had to wait almost 10 minutes for our drinks. It may be good for breakfast and lunch, but my dinner was abysmal. I ordered a chopped steak, expecting it would be a standby, and therefore safe. Wrong. It came with a tan-grey gravy, which tasted like fat cornstarch. Time for an update.. I came here again a few weeks ago and I was expecting it to be a horrible experience again. I went right before the previous super late night shift was starting. It still took forever to get seated as the hostess was outside on a smoke break. Not sure what that was about but eventually we got seated. We got lucky this time and got a much better waitress. The food actually seemed to be slightly better this time around. I don't know if last time the chef was having an off night or they got a new one all together but it seemed like it was an improvement. Like I said we had a better waitress and her service skills were much of an improvement but it seems like this place can be hit or miss with the food and service. It seems that you have to come at the right time and get the right waiter or waitress. Wasn't as bad as last time but wasn't a huge leap of an improvement. I stopped at 4 PM on a Monday. I waited for over 5 minutes to be seated which should have been my first warning that the service was going to be bad, and it went downhill from there. I ordered an appetizer and a meal, and the meal came out while I was still eating the appetizer. By the time I finished my appetizer the food was cold. My coffee tasted like it was the dregs of the pot and had been sitting for a while, after I drank it my cup sat empty for almost 10 minutes and I had to ask the waitress for a refill, she didn't offer. Then I had to wait again while she brewed a fresh pot because she had served me the last of the coffee and hadn't made another pot. After I finished eating I had enough time to almost completely write this review on my iPhone before she came over with my check. Customer service is horrible. Waitresses standing at their counter area drinking and eating. My pick up order was twenty minutes past the latest time frame I was given when I ordered online. All because the hostess couldnt bag it. She was rude when I asked how much longer it would be. Shes trying to figure out when to seat people....she claimed. Too bad she didnt even notice when the people she was "seating" walked out because they were tired of waiting. And it wasnt because of lack of tables. Two tables were free of customers right next to the hostess stand. By the time she finally got around to it the food was COLD. And guess what - the food she claimed wasnt quite ready when I arrived WAS. I saw to go containers waiting for pickup. When she finally got around to bagging it she grabbed the same containers I saw when I arrived. Then she told me I had to sign for the order. I refused until I checked the order - at that point she threw the receipt and walked off. She kept taking people who walked up to pay over everyone else - even though we were all there FIRST. If you would like a quick meal (Average American Breakfast) to eat while on the road, Denny's is the place for you. After driving a couple of hours from NYC I stopped at Denny's for a quick bite. I was too tired to deal with the line at McDonalds. The food was average and consisted of pancakes, eggs and bacon. The food was a little over cooked but it did the job. If you are looking for a fancy place to go on a date this is not the place. If you are looking for a meal to fill you up while traveling, this is the place for you! read more
