Greasy fast food but tasty Heading through Pennsylvania, had a few stops along the path and this place happens to be in route. We order online and I pull up to pick up our meal. Inside has a lot of cars everywhere, so it was very similar to pizza shop in my area. Very neat, but not in there for too long. We got cheese curds and wings. We were able to select all flats which is an awesome choice to make. The cheese curds were not traditional, where they are pressed into solid shapes and are "squeaky". Instead they don't press it and leave it loose. Which lead to a kinda airy cheese curds with a ton of cheesy flavor. Those were wonderful. The wings were perfectly cooked and the sauces had some heat but not too crazy. Good flavor, and ample portions. As a greasy spoon pit stop, it hits all the right notes. It's not glamorous eats, but they are good eats while on the road. Get wet naps, and give this place a try if you can. read more

This place was such a fun find on our trip! I got the loaded sweet potato fries & the fries were cooked great but I wish there was more cheese/more of a beer cheese consistency. There also wasn't much 'chipotle' flavor. There were so many wing sauces to choose from it was hard! I ended up with Thaisian & Haute Parm. Both were great & super flavorful, our waitress was really helpful when choosing sauces. The kids meals come in the cutest little paper cars! I love a place with a fun novelty theme. read more

Stopped by Quaker Steak & Lube for a casual bite and had a decent experience. The racing-themed decor was definitely a fun touch -- loved the atmosphere and all the motorsports memorabilia. I tried both the bone-in wings and the grilled boneless wings. The bone-in had good flavor but were a bit on the dry side. The grilled boneless wings were juicy and had a nice smoky char, but could've used a bit more seasoning. They have a wide variety of sauces, which helped add some kick. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the visit enjoyable overall. It's a solid place to hang out and grab wings, especially if you're into cars or racing. Quaker Steak & Lube is pretty consistent from location to location. We stopped for the night at a small town in central Pennsylvania on our way to New York. This location was in the parking lot of our hotel, and it was getting late. We decided to order wings. I called them and placed our order, then walked next door to pick it up. I knew I would be early, so I decided to sit at the bar and have a drink. (I was walking...) After I got my bourbon, only a minute or two passed before the food was ready. I finished the drink, paid, and left. First, they were very nice at the bar. There weren't many people there, so the bartender chatted me up. It was a nice conversation. Also - their drinks were very reasonably priced. I had one of their higher-end bourbons (not a "high-end bourbon since they didn't have a huge selection), and the cost per pour was about half what I'm used to. I returned to the hotel with the wings (10 hot) and finished them quickly. They were the way I remember Quaker Steak & Lube wings. Good, not excellent, but far from bad. I got the mac and cheese skillet which was very good. Our server was a little speedy and wasn't super attentive, but she was still able to help and serve us. Whenever I go here I always like the Nascar themed interior, especially the corvette hanging off the wall. The Arizona Ranch sauce was pretty mild, which I like, but the atomic bomb sauce had all the spice and no flavor. It was like eating the spice of a pepper, and not the pepper, which put me and our group down. Pretty good, nicely done. Would recommend. read more

I love QSL and they have some great food. They now are operating on a limited menu which took some of their best items off. I get it because they are probably the most expensive for them. I've been to this location three times now and never had a bad visit. The food and service is always great. No matter what you get it will be tasty. This place is out in Bloomsburg and it's probably the best restaurant around there NASCAR themed. Their food is an eight out of 10 I suggest you try the onion rings they are out of this world they come on an antenna which I found hilarious the food price is reasonable for what you're getting, so I don't know what you're waiting for a few live in Bloomsburg or the surrounding area getting your car and go get a bite read more

My experience was ok at best. The restaurant remains me of an Applebee's. First off the interior of the restaurant had poor lighting and was filthy. The service was fine. I ordered the pick 2 special which was one appetizer and one meal. I got the mozzarella sticks. They were bland and very greasy. I also got the chicken tenders again very bland even with the BBQ sauce again the breading just had no flavor at all. To add insult to injury I was charged 3.69 for a Diet soda. Overall, this restaurant is just a more expensive, slightly worse version of Applebee's read more

Very decent food at a very high price. Paid $20 something for some ribs and fries. The fries were nasty and soggy. The ribs had a great BBQ sauce and had a great blend of spices. Not amazing, but definitely 4 star worthy if the price and fries matched the quality of the ribs. read more

My co-workers invited me to come with them after work. I was not disappointed. As you pull up to park, you know it will be a whole new experience, seeing as there is a Quaker State, Nascar, racecar on the roof. Stepping in the door, the atmosphere is all smiles from the, hostess, and delicious smells from the kitchen. Immediately, my eyes were drawn to the Corvette Stingray on the lift over the hostess' station. Directed to the bar as we passed into the dining room, I was amazed to see on the ceiling over the bar, one of Davey Allisons racecars. Also, two, more classic, Stingrays, to the left. The barmaid was very friendly, and we were served drinks and ordered appetizers right away. While waiting for our food, my eyes were kept busy looking at all the memorabilia that is quite impossible to see all in just one visit. When the food came, which was hot and delcious, I watched the game on the television that was mounted in place of Davey Allisons windshield. I've been back several times, and each visit was just as enjoyable for me as the first. I recommend that if you haven't yet been to Steak and Lube, there is no time like the present. Don't go man, seriously. i was there during the Super Bowl this year and i know this is a late review. but me and my friends all got the boneless garlic parm wings. they were nasty but the next day we woke up with food poisoning. i know that they leave the sauce out un-covered but i also believe the chicken was raw, we all got sick and it was almost a week. the service was a little slow but i think it was because she knew we were staying for the full game, it wasn't really packed except for the bar. it looks awesome in there i love the design of the restaurant. if i ever get food from there it will be if someone else orders takeout and i only get the pretzels and beer cheese because those are amazing. read more

I pass through here once a month on business. I used to ALWAYS stop here for the AYCE wings on Tuesday nights when I was in town but finally stopped last year because the service has gotten so poor and was getting worse and worse with every visit. I finally decided to try it again last nights once I was in town and it had been about 8 months, and what a mistake it was. I had the misfortune of having Claudia as my waitress. I sat at a table for nearly 10 minutes before a a waitress appeared to take my drink order and then she wasn't even my waitress, she just knew I wasn't being waited on by Claudia, wasn't even in the dining room that whole time. 5 minutes later Claudia finally comes and introduces herself. My drink went empty and stayed that way for quite a while until the manager wandered by and asked what I was drinking. Claudia was nowhere to be found. The meal ended. By now my glass was empty again, and had been for elseveral minutes, and no Claudia to refill it. (The other waitress came by her tables in the area 3 times by now.) I waited over 10 minutes at a table with 2 empty glasses and the dirty plates before Claudia reappeared from the back and I had to flag her down and ask for the sales slip as she was walking by. She then diapered with my credit card for another 10 minutes before returning. During that ten minutes Claudia was talking with her coworkers at the bar and disappeared from the floor, completely ignoring her other customers (I could see her gossiping with her coworkers from my table). I spent over 20 minutes trying to get that check. It took longer to get the check than to eat and Claudia was MIA the whole meal. If not for the manager wandering by the glass would have stayed empty for 3/4 if the meal. There was a reason I stopped coming here and giving it another chance was a mistake. The service here is abysmal and not worth the aggregation, even for AYCE wings. I have been to 4 other QS&L's in my travels and this one is the worst by a large margin. Why this level of disgraceful service and ignoring of customers is allowed is beyond me. The manager seemed very nice when she came by to refill my glass, but this low operational efficiency falls at her feet. read more

Being that this place is less than a mile from my family's house when I'm in town visiting.......I try to get here as often as I can. It's about the only "chain" I'll go to in the area because the offerings are solid each and every single time I've been there. My favorite time to go is during the week for lunch for the all you can eat wing special with a side food/salad bar. Frankly, I stay away from the hot food bar because much of it doesn't look all that appetizing. Looking back on it, I don't think I've actually ever tried anything else beyond the wings here and whatever may have been offered on the hot bar that looked halfway decent. Cheap beers ($2 drafts, I believe), great wing specials and the decor is fun with an old stock car hanging off of one of the walls (sitting in the booths underneath it still scares me a bit). So much sports memorabilia on the walls, even the bathroom signs are funny. I also love how the sports are piped into the bathroom as well. I was there one NFL Sunday afternoon and it was great to not only see the Steelers game on the TV in the bathroom but the sound was blaring, as well. I wish they would open some locations in New England because Buffalo Wild Wings just doesn't cut it. read more

I've wanted to try Quaker Steak and Lube for about five years-there isn't one anywhere near me...the last time I went out to Penn State I wasn't in the right condition on the way home to stop and after seeing it on Man vs. Food I knew I had to try it out. Unfortunately I wasn't in the right 'place' do do their wing challenge, so when we got there we ordered some spicy Bloody Mary's and looked over the menu. I ordered the buckeye BBQ hot boneless wings...not their hottest, but still pretty high on their scale. We were REALLY disappointed in the service-not our waitress, she was awesome, but the tools in the kitchen took over 25 minutes to send out a salad, a quesadilla, a burger, and three orders of wings. Completely unacceptable. While the wings were delicious they were far from hot (spicy not temp) -so I was a little disappointed. I really wanted to be blown out of the water by this place, but I wasn't. It was good, service was slow, and the wing sauce wasn't spicy enough. Unless I try the wing challenge, I don't know that I go out of my way to stop here again...but I am a sucker for hot wings so never say never. read more

No disrespect to you if you enjoy that kind of thing, we all have different views. We shared a variety of foods including wings, onion rings, steak and shrimp. The best of that was the Louisiana Lickers wings with a cajun-garlic-BBQ mixed sauce. I enjoyed the unique flavor of the sauce. The onion rings were good, but cut so thick that when you take a bite, the onion slides out and you are left holding the crust in your hand. The sirloin steak was a dry and tasteless piece of beef and the fried shrimp that came with the combo was equally unimpressive. Any time that I am in the area of a Quaker Steak and Lube I have to stop for wings and beer! It is a basic life requirement for me! Today's visit had me trying a new flavor of wing sauce and boy was it ever awesome! I ventured out and tried the Arizona Ranch sauce. The sauce is a hot sauce base with a dry ranch flavoring mixed in. While I am a huge fan of ranch dressing mixed with hot sauce this actually worked for me. I was skeptical at first about a dry ranch powder mixed in but it really blended well. Anytime you visit a place like this you know that you are getting over the top decor and a very warm and casual experience. The waitress was friendly and even allowed me to sample the new sauce before I made my order which was great. One thing I really look for when writing a review is if the staff are smiling, every staff member that I saw had a smile on their face! read more

This was near the hotel we were staying at and we were offered a 10% discount to boot. We called ahead as we had a group of 20 and they easily and happily accommodated us and even gave us separate checks. I went for the mild boneless wings and they were tasty. I did not like the cup of blue cheese that was similar to what you would get with a takeout salad - peel off the top style. I asked for more and they brought us a fresh side which chunks of cheese in it - much better. It was also their late night happy hour with a selection of 8 different apps to choose from including the magna fries loaded with bacon and cheese and chipotle BBQ quesadilla. I was also impressed that they cooked the quesidilla in a separate pan as the hubby is also allergic to red meat. I'm not sure what the drink specials were because I was the driver. The boys also got a large beer tower holding 7 or 8 beers and touting it's own spout at $24.99 they had more than one so the bill added up quick. The hotel we stay at every year on our Knoebel's trip is right across Route 42 from this place, so we stop in for lunch on our departure day every few years or so . Service, food and cleanliness all check in at average, like most chain restaurants do. The dining area is decorated with racing and automotive memorabilia, including a few complete cars hanging from the ceiling and walls, which bemused my 2 year old to no end. While they have a complete menu, wings are their focus. It seems they get their draw due to the variety of flavors available (I think there are 25, including the "Triple Atomic" that you have to sign a waiver to eat. I passed on this opportunity) rather than the quality of the chicken. On our most recent visit I went for the $7.99 wing basket lunch special, topped with the "Louisiana Lickers" sauce. The fries were thick cut and hot, but unremarkable. The sauce on the wings had a nice flavor with just a hint of heat (they were listed as medium, but were definitely more on the mild side), but there was not enough of it. Again, passable, nothing more.Wednesday nights are Bike Night, and it always seems to draw a pretty good crowd judging by the parking lot. On Tuesday nights they have an All-You-Can-Eat Wing special. It's been a few years since I indulged, but when I tried it last, they would bring you small baskets and refill as you finished, and you could change flavors per basket, so it was a pretty good way to try out a wide variety.
