A year after we stopped eating here due to horrible customer service & bad attitudes from workers here, esp on to go orders, we thought we'd try again. Shouldn't have. Ordered for curbside two turkey dinners, ordered extra gravy on the side & extra cranberry sauce (willing to pay up charges), two slices pumpkin pie (no whipped cream), & two drinks. There were two other cars in the parking lot, both of which left shortly after I arrived. So not busy at all. Waited almost 30 mins & finally a waitress brought out our orders. Noted immediately that both desserts & drinks were missing, so also asked where extra gravy & cranberry sauces were. She ARGUED that I had not ordered the extras, even though I'd paid $32 to give them the opportunity to screw up our orders again. She continued to argue that the "extra gravy" & cranberry sauce (not, got none on plates) had already been put on our plates (it wasn't). Had to wait several more minutes for her to bring out two teeny plastic cups of about a tsp each of cranberry sauce, which she informed me was about 4 times the amount they normally put on the plates, which since we got NONE wasn't saying much. She used the excuse that her order slip didn't list any drinks or desserts AND she didn't even know that they did curbside service. Needless to say, our meals were cold when I got home less than 3 mins later. Found there was barely any gravy on the plates, no cranberry sauce other than the teeny plastic cup for each of us that I had to argue for, there was some nasty runny white stuff that had run off the pie slices (some fake whipped cream? that we did NOT want & which you couldn't scrape off the pie because it had degraded into some runny substance that had soaked into the sides of the pie). Pies went into the trash, as did most of the food due to lack of gravy & being cold. The drinks and cranberry sauce cups were delicious, although $32 for two tsp of cranberry sauce & two small sodas is kinda expensive. PS: We stopped eating breakfast here some time back because they consistently ran out of coffee creamer, syrup for pancakes, butter, coffee sweetener, & various food items. Don't know who the person was who treated my parents so well, but wanted to thank you. They are both in their 80s and enjoy simple pleasures like having breakfast at lunchtime at Denny's. There was a simple problem with the order, but the waiter was so apologetic that he felt compelled to pay for the order himself. My father was awestruck that someone would do this....in this day of people who just don't seem to care. My dad ended up leaving the cash for their order anyway. How often can you go to Denny's and get a glimmer of hope for humanity? That is what's on the menu at this Denny's in Boerne. read more

We haven't been here in awhile, but needed a sit down breakfast place that wasn't breakfast tacos. First impression the manager/maybe owner was not having a good day or she's just not very friendly. I missed that I was in the way of food pick up and got snapped at. Oops...I moved. I misunderstood what she was trying to ask of me. As she seated us she threw menus on the table and walked away. At one point she yelled loudly at employees as she was walking by our table...at the exact moment she was at our table. When I went to the counter to pay out, she spouted of the total and walked away. I put my card in the reader and nothing happened. I got her attention and asked if there was something else I needed to do. She walked from behind the food counter to push a button to actually process the card at that point. It was the oddest experience. Don't get in the way of the food pick up counter and upset her. It will ruin her day. We actually know her from around town and we're surprised by all of this. She was too annoyed to realize. Kate, our waitress, was exceptional! Such a sweet young woman. If you eat there ask for her! The food was great. Wow. Dennys was pretty darn good. We ate there twice over the weekend (Burgess fest downtown.....) The husband and the boy mostly enjoyed their meals. The last time we went to Denny's the food was good but the hostess attitude was horrible. We went back this morning and I understand it is July the 4th. It's a holiday and everyone is busy and short staffed. This doesn't excuse the piss poor attitude when just trying to get on the waiting list. And guess who is was again..... the same lady. She actually told my wife that she hoped we were not hungry because she had no idea how long the wait would be. Ma'am, it could be awhile would have been sufficient but not this lady. I get the fact staff is impossible to find and hire but no staff would be better than the way the public is talked to at this location. This restaurant exceeded my expectations for a Denny's. Food came out hot and quickly, the waitress was attentive and very friendly. Tried to upsell a lot of stuff, but she's just doing her job. The bathrooms are clean, although the layout in the bathroom sucks. The urinal in the men's room is right next to the door, so unless you're flush up against it, if someone opens the door, they'll see your junk. I came to eat last night and I was sad to not see my favorite server but was interested in having this lady named Deb. Unfortunately she did horrible and let me down. My food for my whole table was cold and hard and it wasn't busy at all, I had to ask multiple times for things we needed and she would forget. When I asked to take the food back the guy cook didn't even remake the cold hard hash browns, new sausage and bacon, he just made new eggs and called it a day. Im very upset that I got such bad food and service from Deb and the guy cook. Love the gals that cook and love my regular server Matelynn but definitely not Deb or the guy cook. read more

my wife eats here at least twice each month with the girls after church. So when we get up in time we will go out for breakfast. Today I suggested Denny's. It was already packed at 9 am with a 15min wait. We waited 12 min for our table, not to bad. Our waiter (Rob) was right there with coffee, I needed. We placed our orders, I ordered ( on my wife's recommendation ) the Grand Slamwich. She ordered the bacon omelet. It took awhile to get to table, I imagined the chief was Slammed with orders ( had to do it ) When it arrived it was spectacular it had eggs piled on top bacon, sausage, and ham on top of tomatoes and onion slices with just the right amount of mayo, and all between toasted sourdough bread. OMG it tasted as good as it looked. It was just to much for one person to eat. My wife loved her omelet and ate about 1/2 of it, we left a lot of food on the table. I will go back and explore the many items on the menu. If you like diner food that is a notch up then I recommend Denny's. read more

We don't usually go to THIS Denny's, and, despite my better judgement, I decided to take us to the Boerne location. First off, I need to mention that we have seen cockroaches running around the floor before. We thought that nonsense was fixed, but this time was far worse. I was given TWO used cups. One had someone else's lipstick on it and the other had coffee stain drips all over. They were not washed at all. See pictures. On top of this, part of the ceiling fell and crashed into a booth, right as we started to eat. See picture. This place has really gotten worse and worse and I have to blame management. It seems they are cutting hours and don't have enough people. The ones there are left overworked, underpaid and in a building that's falling apart. I hope corporate or management reads this and I hope you take responsibility for this terrible working environment and not blame the workers that you take advantage of. I would recommend eating somewhere else and waiting until this company gets their act together on this location. Even the bathrooms were disgusting. I have come to this location 3 times this month and must say I am very disappointed. Each time my waitress has been Andrea and each time I have waited at LEAST 30 minutes for my drink order, and you can tack on another 30 for my food. On top of all that I watch her take 4 or 5 trips to the same table when I asked her for a refill 15 minutes ago. This was my first time coming to this location. I came in before noon, and found it was busy, but I was greeted, and seated fast. My waitress was named Kasee,and despite of how busy this location was,she was wonderful. She was very friendly, and helpful with everything... JUst peruse the menu, especially the prices, and you'll get my drift.The food is just the same...not good, not bad...the same as Jim's Restaurants. Don't know why but when you walk in the 1st glass doors there is a bit of bad smell of arm pits, but once you pass that, it is nice inside. I recently went there for lunch and ordered the apple cranberry grilled chicken salad with candied pecans, accompanied with balsamic vinaigrette. This is perhaps one of the best salads I have had in a while. It is a good size salad and will fill you up. It came with a side of garlic bread. The service was great and the waitress was on top of refilling our beverages. I would definitely go back for that salad. read more

We got there around 8:30 pm. There were three other tables seated. The waitress took our order. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with the gravy on the side. When she brought our food, mine had gravy all over it. She said she forgot to have it taken off. She proceeded to serve it to me and watch me attempt to remove the gravy with a knife and napkin. I had to move part of my food ti anothrr plate, but alas, gravy was all over my fries and corn. I could barely eat it. I do not like my food covered in gravy, I like to dunk it. She never once offered to fix my order or replace it. When it came time to check out, I explained she was not getting a tip because my food was wrong and never offered to fix it. She just stared at me. The next day I called and spoke to the manager in training. He seemed nice and promised the GM would call between 3 and 4. That was 6 days ago. Crappy service with over priced foid by people who frankly don't care. By the way, I would have waited patiently if she would have fixed my order. I understand that many restaurants are struggling to hire the right staff. However, hiring service staff like the one we had today would be worse than having slow service. We have been tipping heavily since the pandemic began. We generally tip 50% or more just to do our part. Johnny and Kaitlyn being our favorite waite staff. But this young man whose name, I believe is Gregg was a curt demeaning droll. He served us our ice tea which I can only assume was freshly made as it melted the ice in the tea glass. I asked for a glass of ice at which point he asked snidely, "Is there anything else?" Even though is was grossly argumentative, I let it pass. After we received our food, I asked for a bottle of hot sauce for my meal; when he again, and more pronounced, asked my wife and me, "Is there anything else?!" I asked him if our requests were an inconvenience, which he responded with yes and continued with saying he doesn't want to be coming back and forth. I told him to leave and not come back. I'll not visit again until this rude troglodyte is gone and Denny's returns to proper business. The manager on duty was a lady who didn't ask if everything was ok, as by her demeanor she had been briefed by the horrible employee. I only wish the true manager had been in house. I think Denny's is just okay. I usually see it as a last resort (unless it's 1am). The plus side is free refills on hot cocoa.

I've been here twice and never had any problems. They're usually pretty busy on Sunday morning but we still get in within 10 minutes with a party of two. Food comes out quick and tastes great. The waitresses we have had have been very pleasant and the coffee isn't too bad. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you want a cheaper option than the other breakfast options in boerne. read more

Walked in and there was a sign asking customers to wait to be seated. While the restaurant was almost completely empty it took a few minutes before they acknowledged us and told us we could find a seat. Then we waited another 10 minutes and no one acknowledged our existence. We finally left and walked by the one server (who wasn't busy) and the manager who looked like he might be interviewing someone. Nether one seemed to care that we were leaving. So surprised that they don't want our business... but we will gladly spend our money elsewhere. read more
