A basket of fresh, hot and soft bread rolls hits the the table almost as soon as we sat down. We had the fried Calamari appetizer for the two of us and it was enough to be a meal by itself. Don't let the underwhelming descriptions on the menu fool you, the Shrimp Luciano comes with 6 super-sized shrimp that are beautiful and lightly encrusted on top of perfectly prepared buttery spaghetti. In order to keep the light crunch of the shrimp from getting soggy, the lemon butter sauce sits on the bottom of the bowl for dipping and sopping as desired. Every dish I saw comes from the kitchen looking "photo ready". Great presentation. What really made this evening pop was our server's attention to our table. Sophia never left a single detail unattended. If she felt our drink was taking too long (which I didn't), she'd apologize and let us know she was going to check on it. Her attention to detail and perfect timing was an absolute complement to the quality of the food. I didn't feel like she was waiting on us, it felt more like we had our own personal representative on staff. Finally, ambience...probably the weakest link of Luciano's, the conversation level is loud enough in the room that you don't feel like you have to whisper for privacy giving the room a lively and family friendly feel. There is background music playing but it's almost non-existent, in fact I had to stop and tilt my head to detect it. Personally I like a little background music and it wouldn't hurt to turn up the volume a notch. Over the long bar is a single screen with muted sound playing an NBA game. Either way, I couldn't drink it. I asked a manager if I could get a new cup and explained the situation. She got a little cup and had one of her guys taste it. He agreed with me. I have been in similar situations where they just give me a new cup and go right to work as if they didn't care. In this case, the manager and her worker scored major loyalty points!
