This is a Denny's. If you've grown up going to Denny's you know exactly what to expect. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars. It's not the best place, not somewhere I crave to go but it's good for a late night or a cheap time. This particular one is always clean and the staff are friendly. The only issue I have with them is the lack of staffing. The poor staff are always spread thin when I've come. The food is Denny's food. It fits its value. Food looked just like the pictures, it was missing a spec of flavor but my goodness the best customer service. It was about four different men helping they seemed to do amazing team work. Been to this Denny's location a couple of times. Nothing really much to describe about Denny's. Each location is different, what I mean by that is the food and service. It is going to be a hit or miss. The service is here is alright, pretty attentive and fast. I haven't got a bad experience yet. The foods are alright, tasted decent. Some are too greasy, and some are great. Yes, I have to admit their burger are actually pretty good. I do like to discuss about one thing is that they charge you extra if you want your fries seasoned. It's not mentioned in the menu, just letting y'alls know. If I know about that, I would just stick to regular fries lol. Well, the good news is my burger was good and juicy! The food... my food was not even close to what the menu described. I ordered Nachos . It said seasoned meat and pepper jack cheese sauce. What I got was chips covered with some sort of chili and meat sauce and what looked like very little shredded cheese. A few diced onions and a blob of sour cream. My friend had a burger and shake. The hamburgers at the Kitsap Way Denny's are the best! And I've tried a lot of hamburgers. The Bourbon Bacon Burger with what looks like a hand pressed pattie and stacked with the works, including grilled peppers and mushrooms is delicious. All on an onion bun. My friend tried the prime rib philly cheese steak sandwich and he said it was one of the tastiest he's had. Their breakfast meals are very good, too. First in person restaurant visit since Covid started. Of course it would be a Denny's . We were worried about going into a dining area. This Denny's has tall dividers between booths we felt comfortable taking off our masks at the table. The food was great, the service was great, it was not over crowded. We enjoyed it and will return. We were here around 2pm and the girl who helped us did all the right stuff, had coffee and it was never empty. Food came in 5 minutes after we ordered. Just a great experience. read more

Post about customer service, not food or wait-staff. I go to Brem Denny's semi-regular, always order toasted roast beef sandwich with plain fries (no sauces). Today was served on a plate with black smears on 1 side (from toasting on grill?), but while eating about 5 fries on other side, noticed from edge of plate in 3 diff wide-apart places, going UNDER my fries were LARGE smears of dried EGG yolk. YELLOW-ORANGE crusty dried smears that was CLEARLY EGG! (We eat alot of eggs in our fam - I know what this looks like.) I politely called JAY over & stated "I'm fine with finishing this food" (since I've already eaten off it - why not), "but I would like a CLEAN PLATE & something reflected in my bill." He goes & returns some time later with a new plate of food... And then gives me the total - for FULL price. When I went to pay, JAY repeatedly stated FULL PRICE was b/c he made my food fresh despite me stating this was not necessary & that he couldn't discount for that reason. He also stated it was BUTTER on my plate, not egg - I told him there was NO WAY it was butter, or even margarine; esp since I had NOTHING in my dish with butter (I also know what butter looks like) & it went UNDER my food, meaning it was there BEFORE my food was plated! He repeatedly refused to take anything off, then frustratingly offered to take off my tea ($3.79) but said that was ALL & the "best he can do." I asked if he could even take $5 off total & he said NO. When I clarified it was not acceptable to serve food on DIRTY PLATES with old food crusted on them & then charge full price or offer a tiny discount, he snidely told me to go ahead & leave without paying anything b/c he wasn't going to take anything more than the tea off my bill. (Why?! So he can call the cops for me running out on a bill?! Or have me barred?!). He made it obvious if I left without paying I wouldnt be allowed back. I refused to do that & said I wouldn't do that to any business, but would like some discount on the food & $5 was not unreasonable. He still absolutely refused to take anything off except the tea, saying either: I should pay full price OR pay nothing & leave. So I wouldnt have the cops called on me, I paid ended up paying FULL PRICE for food SERVED ON DIRTY PLATES CRUSTED with this morning's breakfast. PS. No, I didn't take pics of the crusty plate - I didn't think I'd have to. PPS. We are visiting Bremerton on vacation and tried a local place for breakfast fast first. We always like to try places we don't have at home (Southern California). It was so-so. So we tried Denny's since it was close to the inn we were staying at. We had not actually been to a Denny's in years. THIS has convinced us to try it again when we get home. The service was 2nd to none. The food was great. We returned two more times and our server, Jay, remembered us and our orders and preferences. I avoided Denny's in WA for YEARS because I had one too many bad experiences. They were a favorite dining chain back home. When I finally decided to try this location out, I was BLOWN AWAY by the food. Literally the BEST quality out of any Denny's I've been to my whole life; it tasted like 5-star restaurant quality instead of diner chain. I'm rating it 3/5 stars because the SERVICE is always lacking and the food since my first visit has been inconsistent. I know I'm supposed to cut everyone some slack during the pandemic, but since I haven't had an experience like this in any other restaurant in the last two years, I feel compelled to share. I went into this Denny's, which was a dump with bad service before the pandemic, and was immediately asked to put on a mask. I'm fully vaccinated and the CDC said I don't need to wear one, but whatever, the business has a right to require it so I complied. I was taken to my table, where I found myself clustered with all the other customers in one corner of the restaurant. Of course now we're all unmasked because we have coffee and food (in theory). So to review, on the 15-foot walk from the door to my table there's a Covid risk, but once I'm at my table and I'm less than ten feet from every other customer in the restaurant, we're all perfectly safe. Oh -- they had little partition things between the booths, so the people directly in front of and behind me, who were so close I could hear them chewing, were somehow not breathing the same air as me, because as we know, air only travels in a perfectly straight line. Of course, I also had a direct, unobstructed path to a table about eight feet away where four people were eating, but the Denny's staff probably used some kind of magical incantation to keep our droplets from being exchanged. I mean, I can smell their food, but that's not the same as their air drifting over to my table, right? OK, fine -- this Denny's is really stupid about Covid. They probably aren't unique in that regard. But then I waited almost an hour for my food. The restaurant was not busy. There were four parties, none of them with more than four people. I ordered a breakfast skillet. Denny's corporate has a wonderful habit of periodically getting rid of the best things on the menu. Did you ever have the bacon avocado breakfast burrito? It was really good, but it's gone now. Thanks, Denny's. That's not the fault of this particular Denny's, though, so I'm not factoring that into this review. My skillet comes and it's still sizzling. That's the gimmick -- it's not why I ordered it, but I guess some people like their food to be not-quite-finished cooking when it comes to the table, and the chance of burning themselves on a chunk of hot cast iron brings some much-needed excitement to their otherwise dull lives. Personally, I'd rather the cook did the whole job and my food came ready to eat, but I'm obviously in the minority on that. Five minutes later, my skillet is still sizzling. And smoking; the hot sauce I added to the food is now filling the air with something like low-potency pepper spray. I'm coughing a little -- good pandemic activity. My food is burning, and the skillet itself is still about 300 degrees. I realize that I'm about to lose my breakfast if I don't do something, so I ask the waiter for a spatula, an apron, and a hairnet, and for five or ten minutes of hourly pay and benefits while I do someone else's job. Ok, I didn't really ask for those things. I asked for a plate. He brought one, I flipped the contents of the skillet onto it, and yes, they were burned, but barely. You know when you microwave something and it comes out so hot you can't possibly eat it, but you try anyway, burning a few layers off your tongue and basically ruining your meal because you didn't want to let it cool down for probably twice the time it took to heat it up? That, for the next ten minutes or so. Also the coffee was so bad I gave up trying to drink it before I finished my first cup. This is partially my fault -- I've recently started roasting my own coffee beans and it has made the restaurant stuff hard to stomach. The waiter was polite, if slow. I didn't stiff him on the tip or anything. Some of this was not his fault. For the sake of not offering criticism without suggestions for improvement, here are mine: 1) Covid precautions are all well and good, but you have a great big dining room and you need to spread your diners out. The waiter can walk a little farther -- he'll be ok. 2) Get the food out faster, please, but if possible, cook the skillets on lower heat and don't send them to the tables until they're safe for diners to handle. 3) Tell Denny's corporate to get better coffee and bring back the bacon avocado burrito. Seriously, though -- if Denny's had good coffee they could make a big promotion of it and maybe even make more money. I don't know what it would take for every Denny's in America to sell a consistent, high quality, all-arabica coffee, but it would be something. Denny's -- not this one, but all of them -- was better ten years ago. I don't know what changed exactly, but they've all gone downhill. I miss it the way it used to be. read more

Ate here at 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon after a hard workout session. It was my "carb up day" and I missed a meal already so I had to make up some ground to stay on par with my days nutrient needs. I got the fit fare slam, fit fare omelet and the fit fare veggie skillet. Yes I know, lots of food for one person. Welcome to my world! Well I did finish it all so nothing was wasted. In fact I had it all down in about 20 minutes and that was pacing myself...... All was very good and flavorful! I love breakfast foods and this hit the spot for sure. Oh well, maybe the extreme post lifting hunger I had coming in made the wait worse then it really was.... My whole meal minus tip was $26.50 which is high considering what you could pay to make this on your own.....but hey, this time I did not want to make it myself, I just wanted to sit, order and be served. We went to breakfast on Saturday, March 14, 2020. My breakfast was served cold. The server named Prince took my pancakes to the cook. The cook took my plate and placed it in the microwave. The server added more butter and returned the plate to me. I am concerned for proper food handling and sanitation. My advice is to pass on this Denny's and find a cleaner restaurant with proper food handling procedures in place. read more
