It started with the smell of old cigarette smoke that greeted us when we entered. (Not usually a big deal for me but I should have interpreted it as a sign.) The hot water pot for my tea had a visibly dirty handle and was chipped at the opening. The waiter kindly replaced this with a non-chipped pot....which, unfortunately, was also dirty. Then came the food. There was a rotten, slimy, black potato piece in my hashbrowns. Hoping for the best, I tasted the omelet. It was super rubbery/overcooked and the accompanying vegetables tasted weird. Upon further reflection, I believe they were old. The waiter awesomely offered to comp my uneaten meal, but rolled his eyes and did not apologize or offer an explanation. I left and went to a different chain's restaurant for my dinner. As someone in the restaurant industry I don't regularly post on here. However....I guess there is a reason I don't go to Denny's much. I have really liked their new menu and their quality has gotten better. That being said, I ordered bacon cheddar tots. Got the tots with jalapeños and chili. Normally I wouldn't mind the mix up, but I had my kid with me, who doesn't like anything with any heat. Server said I'd get a discount. Next I ordered a burger on their new burger menu. They have 4 or 5. Not a very good selection of burgers compared to their breakfast menu and all the breakfast items. So I ordered a burger with no pickles, but if they want to throw in a little extra onions I won't complain. I'm complaining. It was WAY more than just a little extra. I'm going to be a dragon breathing onion fire for days, there was so much onion. And I LOVE onions. Still it was ridiculous. I feel like the cook was trying to be funny. Not funny. Nor cute, nor good. again, I love onions and always order extra on everything. This was too much. Their new wavy fries?! Barf. They taste stale. Not good either. On the plus side our server was very nice and I hope she does well there. I made sure to tip her well as well. If I can give this Denny's no stars I would. I use yelp to find cool spots to eat at with my wife and I usually go here to eat in the morning. Coffee decent food decent never really had any issues until today. My wife ordered a cheese melt. That's what she usually gets so we know what it's supposed to look like. Well today that was not the case. (As you see in the photo)we asked to have another one made, the waiter got upset and started laughing with her co workers about the issue. I felt disrespected because no one is going to laugh at my wife. So I asked to speak to a manger. I could clearly see him (his name is JEET) he shook his head no so another waiter came & told us JEET was cooking, I told him if your not the manager to get me the manager. After 15 minutes JEET came out. I showed him the photo of the supposed cheese melt and goes to find out HE COOKED IT! He kept insisted the cheese was melted. I'm not making this up! I told him to look at this photo & tell me the cheese was melted. JEET then proceeded TO RAISE HIS VOICE and say again that he cooked it himself & the cheese was melted. I told him we we were not paying for the food , that I wanted a number to call corporate. I called the number while I was sitting there and it rang , went to voice mail just to leave my name & number. I don't feel like that did any justice. So I'm here on yelp sharing the word. My husband and I went to this establishment today, we got there at 10:40pm and we were told that we can't be seated because they are getting ready to close. So we went home and I looked up what time they close and it said 12:00am, at this point it was 11:30pm. So I called them and the lady told me that they were getting ready to close in about 20 minutes. I asked her why we were told to leave about an hour prior and was told, "she didn't know." This is probably one of the best Denny's I have ever gone too. Great service and always smiling! Especially James and Josh. All their food is super great. I personally like the French toast slam with peanut butter drizzled on top absolutely amazing. I took my family out to breakfast on 02/18 at the Denny's in Bremerton, WA on Kitsap Way. We finished our meal and I went up to pay. I put my card in the chip reader, added the tip and the kiosk indicated that it was approved. A moment later the gentleman at the front desk said to try again because it did not go through and said declined. I let him know that it said approved on my end. At this time I took out my phone to bring up my bank account to make sure it hadn't been taken out as he wanted me to run my card again. My bank account showed the debited amount. I told him that it was out of my bank account and that it went through. He went and got the manager. The manager proceeded to tell me that I had to run my card again because it was showing that it was still open in their system. I showed him that it was debited out of my account and he said that they have been having problems with their system but it was not out of my account and would come off. He continued to argue with me in front of many patrons. Again, I showed him that it was taken out of my account. I let him know that if it dropped off I would come back and pay but as of right now it was out of my account and said approved. He was raising his voice so I told him I was done and walked out where he followed me yelling at me to get back in the store. He took a picture of myself and my car ALTHOUGH I HAD PAID and had proof. After being home for about an hour I had the police knock on my door and asked what happened. I showed him that the amount was in fact debited out of my account and you could tell he was frustrated that I had proof and told the manager and he still did this. This was incredibly embarrassing, degrading and was a horrible experience. If this is in fact a known glitch in the system I would hope something is being done. Today is Tuesday, 02/20 and the amount of the approved transaction is no longer pending and was taken out of my account. I cannot believe I had to go through this and that customer service was so bad from someone who was a manager. I have never been treated so rudely. To have the police called on me when I had proof that I paid is just absurd. On 02/21 I received a call from this manager letting me know that although the money came out he did not get paid and I needed to call my bank and help him out. First thought that came to mind was that after he treated me the way he did and now he wants me to help. But then I realized I NEVER gave this man my number. read more

My husband and I enjoy Denny's on occasion, but we will not be visiting this one again. Walking in, it felt run-down and dirty and was nearly empty. The service was very slow w/ the waitress more interested in hanging out with her regulars than serving. We tried the chips and dip appetizer and the dips were cold and chips were stale. Visiting from out of town and came to breakfast here at Denny's. They seated us immediately and I'm convinced we got the best Denny's in the company. I've never felt more attended to in a Denny's. If I was a local, this would be my go-to..I wish my hometown Denny's would come here for training. Our server, Rikki, was so amazing. She was friendly, quick, and on top of it! She made it easy on us with our 3 kids and we appreciate her very much for that! The rest of the staff was great too- as soon as we finished, Tim cleared our plates, there was another lady who kept refilling our coffee. This must be a very well managed restaurant. With that said it's open 24 hours. It doesn't seem to mind drunk people but I would imagine that if you were really bad they might ask you to leave. Unfortunately, yelp will not allow you to give negative stars; I attempted to take my family to a late dinner after a football game at this restaurant. Their posted hours indicate they are open until midnight. When we entered the restaurant one of the servers stood behind the counter and stared at us like we had a growth coming out of our heads. When she finally came out she told us that they were not seating customers, they were only taking to-go orders. They explained that they stop seating customers at 11:40 pm, it was only 11:15 pm but they were not willing to seat us even though we were there well before the time they stop serving new customers. Me & my mother come here because they have this delicious salad. Cranberry Apple salad. So we come here, normally the service isn't too bad. Food comes out relitvly quick. This experience tonight wasn't the greatest. They have one waitress to about 10 tables. We ordered nachos & our salad, Nachos as an appetizer. When we finally got our order about 15 minutes after ordering it, we got our nachos with our salad. Our nachos didn't come with salsa or sour cream, or salad didn't have the amazing honey roasted pecans on it that makes it delicious, on top of not even having the 50/50 spring mix the salad is supposed to be. We got our salad, realiZed the pecans weren't on there, asked her for them. She said just a moment, took about 3-4mins then we asked the busser. 1. Why would they schedule one waitress? 2. Why wouldn't they put in a food order before the salad runs out? 3. Why didn't she inform us our salad wasn't going to come with the pecans when we has asked her for them? 4. Why not put a order in for the nuts before they run out? Obviously, poor management, I can't be too mad at the waitress. It is just her, buuut. I know I could do better, I will be back. Came in here on my birthday for my free grand slam. Our waitress was great. Really friendly and attentive. Didn't have a long wait for our food and it was fresh. Buttermilk pancakes had a great flavor. I got strawberry and whipped cream topping. Whipped cream was fresh, and real whipped cream. My hash browns were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and had a great flavor. My sausage and bacon were also perfectly cooked. I've also been going to Denny's for years, and have been to them in several different states. Three times I've been to this dump, I mean, establishment. Every single time the "meal" has consisted of the least amount and worst quality of food they can provide, I mean, get away with, while charging the most they can. I wish I had taken a picture of the potatoes they called hash browns - a thin burnt tiny handful of something meant to be hash browns. Bacon? What's that? Apparently two tiny strips of fat there. Here in Bremerton everything is expensive, on top of the tax being so ridiculous it is starting to make me mad as shit. Beyond that, shouldn't Denny's, a gigantic chain, have enough money already? I do not know how the franchise operates, and do not care, but again, shouldn't Denny's provide appropriate portions relating to the cost? If you are in or visit Bremerton and really want a Denny's type meal, go to the one in Tacoma on 6th and pay the stupid bridge fee of $6 (that view is pretty). The portions are relative to the prices and the cooks are just better. I have had several delicious and fulfilling meals there. read more

I have NEVER been so upset with a company before. My steak was way too cooked. It was Well done vs. a nice Medium Rare. My bread was soggy. My fries were nasty and ALSO soggy. The premium chicken tenders I ordered were small, grossly over salted and over priced for the size we got. The sauces were also over salted. They burned my boyfriends mouth. The skillet was half of what you get when you sit in the restaurant. I paid 48 dollars for this. I've never been SO DISGUSTINGLY UPSET. Not to mention I've had an upset stomach since I ate. The only thing that was even REMOTELY palatable was the mashed potatoes but those are hard to mess up. I worked in food service for 5 years. This is a disgrace. I've never pulled the race card before, but not sure what else to think. Went here with my Asian family one morning (I'm half Japanese/Caucasian and my husband and his family are Vietnamese). It wasn't busy and we were the only people standing there waiting to be seated. There were several employees walking around, or chit chatting with each other. We waited a little over five minutes, then a (light skinned with Caucasian features) couple came in. Seriously not 10 seconds later, a server came up to us and pointed at a table asking if we wanted to sit there, then walked away, and at the same time another server came up and took the couple to the table next to the table we were asked about. We were kind of confused since 'our' server walked off, but we went to sit down and waited patiently. The other couple's server took their drink orders and brought their drinks back, and we finally got a high chair for our son, but no kid's menu. Our server pretty much just gave us the high chair and walked away again. Meanwhile the couple next to us placed their food orders. I stopped that server to ask for a kid's menu and they did look at me, but walked away. Our server came back and told us they didn't have any kid's menus at that time, but it's basically the same food in the regular menu. So, we ordered our drinks and food and watched the other couple receiving their meals. Finally got our food, everything was correct and tasted like normal Denny's fare, but the experience was really off-putting. I typically have good experiences with this location but today was so bad that I felt like I needed to review. My boyfriend and I came in, ordered, and waited. We waited for 45 minutes. After a while, boyfriend talked to the waiter and said that we were needing to leave soon and he responded that it would be just a minute. When our food came out the bacon and hash browns were barely cooked and my "toast" came out as cold bread with loads of butter on it. We were disappointed to say the least. I have been eating at this Denny's for over 30 years. The food is good, and the service used be great. For the past several weeks, the service has been very bad. The two main servers, Jay and Prince, are really bad. They don't pay attention to the customers. They stand around playing on their phones and act like they are in another world. They act like they are doing you favor, when I am doing them a favor by giving them my business. To ask for a refill with coffee and water, they act like you are bothering them. The other day, I had to go to the bathroom fo fill my water glass. The customer service is very poor. The place is filthy and the bathrooms are a pigsty. This place has gotten so bad, I don't think the rats and mice don't even go there. LOL!!!. It's a shame such a great place has gone down the tubes. I won't go there again. It will be a matter of time before they close down. read more

My wife and I were going to church, but we we hadn't eaten breakfast and the Mrs. was craving Denny's. She's pregnant so we had to go. The only problem was that we had less than an hour to eat before church started. Against my better judgement we went to Denny's anyway. The waitress spotted us and seemed to read our minds as she seated us quickly and took our drink order. She was very efficient, and I never mentioned our rush. We got our meal about 15 minutes after our order was placed, and the waitress even checked on us a couple more times to offer things we didn't even know we wanted. She was amazing, and we made it out of there with plenty of time to spare. I'm still in shock and will definitely be returning soon if our tanks are running low and we don't have all day to sit around and wait to get seated. I should also mention that our meal was only $25 for the two of us which includes the tip, and it was more food than we could handle. read more

This place was absolutely horrible. They food was just ok. Then when we go to pay their system is acting up and we ended up having two holds put on our bank account. The general manager tells us that the second hold will drop off our account by 8:30pm today then we checked and both charges went through. Had to fight with the general manager for him to do anything about it. He kept telling us one thing and then went is an email that said something else. It is just bullshit that we have been fighting them about this since 8am this morning. He did finally take care of it but I am still only giving one star because it took all day for him to finally do anything about it. Maybe we tried this location on a bad day, but for starters we had to walk through thick cigarette smoke just to enter the restaurant. Turns out it was our cook and other restaurant staff smoking right outside the entrance. When we complained, it fell on deaf ears. Our waitress was super friendly. So friendly that she made a little too much small talk. It was dead inside. Only one other table sat, and it took forever to get to order (mainly because our very friendly waitress was busy chatting up the other table). At least our food came out quickly. But it was greasy and they forgot our toast. We asked for ketchup. It never came. We asked for refills. They didn't come. Neither did the toast. We asked again.
