Oh dear...Since my first review, our experiences degraded rapidly...I've been waiting to update my review hoping that things would turn around... but they really haven't and I cannot let my previous 4 star review stand. This Denny's continues to get our business solely because they are the most convenient location-wise. Each of our dining-in experience has been okay... the service is very hit or miss (with missing order items or disappearing wait-staff a regular thing), but the food has been mostly standard Denny's quality. When we're having a lazy morning, my husband loves to order breakfast to go, which we have probably done about 10 times from this location in the past two years. Of the ten times, only once was the order correct. Each of the other times, we have either discovered missing or incorrect items. A few of those times, the staff member has even checked our meals against the order ticket and still tried to hand us incorrect orders to go. It has gotten so frustrating that I no longer allow my husband to pick up to-go orders from this place. If the grease doesn't give him a heart attack, the frustration of having to convince the server that the order is incorrect will. Today, we called in an order and I went to pick up. We ordered an All American slam and a grand slam. A gentleman wearing what I believe was a general manager name tag rung me up very pleasantly. I asked him if he'd mind my checking the order before I left. I noticed the grand slam had hash browns, pancakes, one bacon and one sausage. I mentioned to the manager that the grand slam was missing one sausage and one bacon, as it should come with two of each (not one of each). The manager told me that was a complete grand slam- three items--hash browns, pancakes and the sausage/bacon counting as the third. I responded with my understanding that a grand slam had four items--not three. The manager said no..that's only for special grand slams (like the All American). At that point, I checked the All American slam which was correct--but had an extra side of toast-which I pointed out. I then grabbed a to-go menu, which clearly stated that a grand slam came with four items, and bacon and sausage selections each came with two pieces. When I showed the manager this in print, he started talking about how -- wow-- he only rings this stuff up... Another woman with manager on her badge (not sure what her exact title was) seemed to catch the end of this conversation and immediately began to take steps to correct the error..with the general manager still doing nothing but making up excuses. I ended up leaving with the correct order plus some extra bacon and sausage...and again wanting to bang my head against a hard surface due to the frustration. It seems that this place either suffers from several staff and management that either are incompetent, or just don't care. What sucks is that I can tell there are other people, such as the lady who stepped in to correct the situation, who do care. I give two stars for the people who care, and delete three for those who don't. read more

I have been to this Dennys several times and this time is by far the worst time. All the other times were your average Dennys service. Pros: Free WiFi Free air conditioning. Cons: It took 8 minutes from the time they asked me what I wanted to drink and got it. It was not due to it being busy, but because my waiter was shooting the breeze with the cashier and 2 waitresses. It took 22 minutes from the time ordered to get the prime rib salad and soup to my table. The salad was cold and the soup was small and lukewarm at best. There was no other tables needing food so I don't know why it took so long and why it was cold and lukewarm. Additional information: I had ordered my favorite dessert, but because my soup was so small they gave me a free cookies and cream sundae. I am thinking honestly it should have been for the slow service and cold food. There was 5 tables filled including me. 3 servers on duty. The place was nasty dirty they started cleaning tables when I started taking pictures. Some people left due to the slow service. read more

I hadn't been to a Dennys in years! Had a simply great breakfast with outstanding service! In fact, the team approach to service was key to such an enjoyable experience. Our primary server did all the regular duties, and quite well I might add but the attention from the many others clearing plates, refilling coffee, checking on satisfaction, etc. was phenomenal! My husband and I have been here several times and have always had a great experience. last week we went at 330am (thank you insomnia) and were served by a wonderful young woman named Meghan. She was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. We saw how she greeted the others who came in and knew the regular customers orders, which is always nice. They had just introduced a new menu that morning, which had some new things to choose from. This location is clean when we have come and we have always had a great experience. Me and my wife went there for breakfast this morning 5/16/2021! We were sat down it was really not that crowded! Given our menus and then waited a while. No drinks nothing, then We saw a waiter and a waitress arguing of who would help us! It was at least 10 minutes by now. Then people where sat down right next to us. The waiter came over to us and said that our waitress would be right with us. Then he went to the table that just got seated and started waiting on them! We got up and left, but I wanted to talk to a manager, so I asked to talk to one. Then all of a sudden the waitress that was arguing with the waiter said she was the manager right then! Decided to bring my husband to Denny to get his birthday breakfast. Would have loved to enjoy my food and coffee. However the owner Jeff feels the need to have the air conditioner on making the building freezing cold. It's currently 42 degrees outside. The coffee was not even hot. You should see steam coming out of the coffee cup. I give kudos to the waitress but the owner and manager a big thumbs down. Waisted my time and money. This morning my boyfriend and I went to a Denny's for the veteran's breakfast special. The restaurant was completely full and we were given a 15 minute wait time. We were seated about 10 minutes later and were brought our drinks within minutes. Our servers name was Breanna, and she was really sweet and took our orders promptly and thanked my boyfriend for his service. We waited about 10 minutes for our food to be brought out. Our food came out hot and it was all very delicious! After we finished eating we went up the the front to pay for the meal. Dustin helped us and he was really personable and approachable. He had a smile the whole time. We were expecting to wait a really long time to be seated, get drinks, and to be served due to the holiday. The staff did really well! read more

My boyfriend and I ordered late night at this Denny's a few days ago and both ordered the Grandslam. It lived up to its name, because the cook Robert, knocked it out of the park! It was so tasty! But as good as the food was, Lorena was just as amazing! She was on it, made sure we had everything we needed before we left. I hope Denny's realizes what an asset these two are to their company. Had a Lumber Jack Slam and the eggs tasted horrible like it was made or sprayed w some kind of cleaning product. The service is beyond slow it took 20 min for the server to even get to us and then 45 min later we are still waiting for our food. I absolutely love Denny's. In fact there are times I come here multiple times a week to do my homework since they are opened 24 hours. My experiences, however, are very hit or miss...especially lately. Most of the employees are nice and polite but two times in a row I was sat down at a table by the host or hostess but no one came to take my order! I would try to hint to the waiters around me that I was ready to order but both times I ended up having to wave someone down to take my order. Mistakes happen but two times in a row by different employees?? I really really hate to be that person being a complainer because I work in food service myself and know what it's like but I felt it needed to be mentioned. Stopped in for dessert and what a mess. Waitress told us she was sick but not to worry, she wouldn't spit in our food. Apologized for looking so miserable but she felt terrible. If I could give 0 stars I would. Went with a group of 6. They allowed a heavily intoxicated woman to be dragged in and out of restroom by her husband. They allowed him to hang out in the women's restroom without even looking their direction. However someone in our party asked for a Heinz 57 sauce. The server got visibly irritated and disappeared for the rest of our visit. There were only a total of 7 tables occupied while we were there, so she wasn't busy. When I asked for our bill, it was of course wrong. There are many more details that I won't add on here. I submitted a complaint online- however after 3 weeks still no reply. This review applies only to the Denny's on Herndon and Clovis because I have tried other Denny's and have had a very different experience. This Denny's stands out in many aspects the food servers, especially Francia and Daniel, are outstanding, caring individuals. They treat their customers as if they were family. They try to please the customer with any special requests. Most restaurants are not nearly as accommodating. Then there is the food, I enjoy the loaded veggie omelet. I have never had eggs that were so perfectly folded into an omelette and done just right. The vegetables were so fresh and cooked to perfection. Even my tomato slices were fresh and not tasteless like those I've had other restaurant. The Cook's take pride and what they make and it shows! My family has had the spaghetti and meatballs- (unbelievably delicious!)- country fried steak, the hamburgers and many breakfast items. Every dish has surpassed our expectations. You cannot go wrong in ordering anything from their menu. This Denny's has great management and Gloria and an owner who obviously cares about taking care of his customers. I highly recommend making a stop at this Denny's. The only negative is that you will want to keep going back for more! read more
