Came to this Denny's today. Signs all over saying open 24/7. Door unlocked and no sign saying closed so we came in and they said they were not serving. Gave no reason. There were 4 CalFire guys in there that appeared to be eating. They allowed us to use the restrooms which were disgusting. Another one of our group went to ask when they'd be serving. They told them "fire guys are here," again with no explanation of when or if they would be opening/serving soon. If there are no customers there the place should be clean and staff should be somewhat polite. But if you need a place to stop....keep driving by this Dennys. read more

We were returning home from a road trip and decided to try this Denny's. We ordered a sirloin steak, a supreme skillet, and a slow cooked pot roast. The waiter didn't even ask what side dishes we wanted for the steaks - just came with what waiter chose. It is 11:00 pm, and the restaurant was pretty empty. Still, the food arrived 30/40 minutes later. And, all three dished were awful. I will not eat at Denny's for the next 5 years. read more

Usually Denny's isn't the kind of place that receives 5 stars. I am not super picky about food though and the food tasted pretty darn good to me. The main reason for the five stars is my server Paul. I stopped at this location on the way back from LA a little after midnight to get some food on the way home. Paul was really friendly and very attentive and really seemed to care if he did a good job or not. As someone who has worked in restaurants for 14 years I really appreciate the service Paul provided. I ordered a California Club sandwich BECAUSE of the fact it has avocado. I get my club and there was no avocado. I ask the waitress and she said they were out of avocado and i mentioned how it would have been nice to know BEFORE i ordered and she went "oh i figured you ordered because the other items". Like no, i ordered it for ALL of it, including the avocado and she had no right to make that call for me. I understand not getting a shipment, but its the waitress job to inform us if i cant have it how the menu describes. And then they charged me the price of the California Club which is NOT what i got. This is not the Denny's I remember growing up with. I feel like the food and service has been going down and down and down. This location had the worst customer service. We were sad at our table and overheard arguing in the kitchen. Also, the floors were covered with food wrappers and other miscellaneous debris from neglect of the staff. Imagine this scenario: It's freezing cold out on Xmas eve and you've been driving for several hours and still have several more to go before getting to Grandma's house. Your travel companion took liberties of not driving and is now hammered and air humped your aunt earlier in the day. You are dead sober. The drive is daunting and you are getting sleepy and your travel companion is throwing a hissy fit while you are trying to maintain sanity at 85 mph. Do you A) Shove your travel companion out of the car at high speeds? Or B) Stop to get something to eat, rest a moment and end up in a hotel next door? I'm not saying I made the right choice, but Denny's saved my travel companion's life. If we hadn't stopped and I hadn't eaten, there would have been a news story about a drunk man found frozen to death off the I-5. Let me say right up front - I have never been in a Denny's that I left having enjoyed the experience. That being said - this Denny's has pretty good service. The staff seem on top of their game. Seemed like it had a pretty rough crowd customer wise. And the servers put up with it great. The food was not very good. But, I don't generally expect good food at Denny's. Many times if your going to try your hand at a Denny's your wise to stick to the breakfast menu. They seem to have a lot better luck with breakfast than the other meals. Also, there just isn't much in this part of California. And Denny's is so much better than nothing I have found. read more

I understand they have an under staff that afternoon. This place is in the middle of the freeway. We waited 10 minutes to be seated which was fine but after getting our food (we waited for a little bit) one of our order fried fish plate was over fried, so the waiter took it back and came back with the fish being frozen we called the manager to show him the condition of the food. And the other plate had a strand of hair. I dont write bad reviews and i love this restaurant Denny's but i cant pass up on this one.... If you're able to kill an hour and a half and don't need much, then this is the place for you. My mom and I headed back home from San Jose and were hungry, we opted for the healthier option which is Denny's. (Unless you consider McDonalds, Carl's Jr or some gas station food healthy.) I expected them to be somewhat busy but I thought that they must be used to it considering how many people must stop there. Surprise surprise, they weren't! I stood and waited ten minutes to be seated, I was obviously noticed, just not catered to. As I waited to be seated, I noticed two complaints about unclean tables. Once the manager acknowledged me, she instructed someone to seat me and they told me they were going to wipe the table clean before taking me over there, I saw them clean the table, too bad they didn't ask me to come over. There goes another five minutes. A waiter by the name of Franco finally seated us, he is what earned the review a star! He's the star of Denny's but he was obviously overwhelmed, so many people complaining about their food, their wait, the service, etc. He was friendly and handling everything the best he could, that man really deserves a raise and a promotion. Once we ordered, the food take what seemed a lifetime to appear, but when Franco saw it, he noticed it was wrong, apologized profusely and fixed it. It wasn't that great and the lettuce in me sandwich was not fresh at all, in fact, it was browning. Some of it was that purple stuff you find tossed around in larger much greener salads. I'm a big fan of Denny's when I'm on the road. This was my worst Denny's experience. The service was so slow, it was like they were sleep walking. I got up and got our own cutlery after our food had arrived. To get the cheese for the kid's spaghetti, after getting up and asking and it still not coming, the second time I stood by the kitchen until they finally brought me some. My experience was rather different from the reviews written here! I have been here twice, my first experience was much better than the later. This place was awesome! Our waitress, who unfortunately didn't give us her name, was quick, hard-working and no one after us waited longer than 4-5 minutes! It was less than $50 for our family of three! It may not seem like a lot of food, but very stuffing. 10/10 would come back here again. Even the bathrooms were clean! No bad smells, tidy bathroom area! The only bad thing was the walls by our table we're a little dirty but still a great place! Give this place a chance, you won't regret it! read more

I haven't eaten in a Denny's in years. We were traveling with a 7 yr old and arrived late to our hotel. After check-in, we walked over to Denny's for a late night meal. The place was very busy. The decor was updated and pleasant. We were greeted immediately and seated. The 7 yr old ordered from the kid's menu , a jr cheeseburger much better than McDonalds and a strawberry shake. I had the classic BLT and it was delicious. I don't remember Ever eating at a Denny's where the food was above average. We were tired from driving and our server put smiles on our faces. John was attentive and helpful. We watched as he bussed tables, served guests, and helped other servers. It was refreshing to see such a hard working young man doing his job with a smile on his face. Yeah, it's a Denny's out in the middle of nowhere. Portions are smaller than in SF or Pacifica, and the servers will cough all over your stuff, but it's a Denny's. What the heck do you expect, 5-star food and service? They'll pretty much make anything for you though, so you're in good hands in that respect. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive, but that is where the complements end. We came in for breakfast, thinking it would be hard to do breakfast bad, but we were wrong. There were 5 of us and we all ordered different dishes. Each was extremely disappointed with the food. I judge most breakfast places by there coffee and there's was terrible. The restaurant also has flies everywhere. I understand this is cattle area but a restaurant has to put more effort to keep their restaurant clean and appealing. My sister had a bacon cheeseburger and I got a spinach chicken salad. Our area also had a very odd smell, like it had been wiped with a dirty rag. No good. Terrible food. No flavor. My daughter ordered a hamburger and no flavor, tasteless. I ordered the Atlantic wild caught salmon. The meat was almost white and it was very fishy. This is not wild caught. Wild caught would be a redish pink color or even a dark pink. This is farm raised and no flavor other than fishy. I couldn't eat it.
