During that visit I looked around the gift shop on my way out . To my surprise,I found they stocked Big Red among many vintage soda pops. I quickly grabbed 4 and was ecstatic! Why you ask? Well,Big Red is inextricably linked to central Texas Bar-B-Q. It was invented by a chemist back in the 1930s. About the same time road travel picked up. People would stop at roadside BBQ shack and grab a smoked beef sandwich and Red Soda and the perfect pairing had begun . I'm just glad I've found a supply of long neck bottle Big Red. Go....but leave me one!

Meatball, Beef & Whiz and even a pretty decent gyro sandwich. Of course, if you feel like trying something different the Elvis-wich is that. PB, Banana and Bacon with a bit of honey. It's just not fried like the way the King liked it, but it was pretty good, although strips of bacon would have been better that crumbles. Easy enough decision. The deal here is they have a station at the front where you choose what kind of sandwich you want. Some of the categories you can choose from are Turkey, Ham & Pork, Chicken, Vegetarian, Italian and Comforts. Each of those categories has 5 sandwiches listed within it. You choose a bag from the category of sandwich that you want and mark which sandwich you want on the bag along with what other things you might want with it. Type of bread, cheese, condiments, etc. Confused yet? Go there. I made it sound a lot harder than it is. My brother and I both ended up getting the Elvis Wich. That is what I mentioned above along with honey. Now I eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches fairly regularly, but I've never had one with bacon. Elvis apparently liked his deep fried. That was not the case here. Simply toasted on wheat bread this was a really good sandwich. I paired it with an Oreo shake because I can't resist a milkshake if I see a sign for one. The bacon was chopped up and that was kind of weird. Not sure why they don't do strips here, but that is a minor complaint. They have an interesting thing going on here.

The chicken parm had really great flavor, and the spaghetti had a little more spice than I expected, which I actually liked. The chicken itself was a bit chewy and tough for me, but I'm also not a huge chicken person, so take that with a grain of salt. Now let's talk about the real star of the night: the seared ahi tuna salad. This was hands-down my favorite part of the meal. Fresh, flavorful, packed with protein, and somehow still light while feeling super satisfying. It's a little more of a splurge for me, but absolutely worth it. I will 100% be ordering this again. The service was also amazing. Our waitress was so kind, helpful, and genuinely friendly, and that always makes such a difference in the whole experience. My wife's catfish was good, and the kids said their meals were decent, so it seems like the kitchen is still hitting the mark on some of their menu items. The romaine mix was almost gone, and the mixed greens had a lot of wilted leaves in it. Also, all of the fixings (nuts, peppers, trail mix, croutons, etc. we're removed from the bar.
