EVERYTHING I've seen online, from the Maps location description to this Yelp page to the Denny's website, said this location is open 24 hours. It was not; all the lights were on and you could go inside, but there was no host, and finally, when I found an employee cleaning, they said it was closed. Please, clearly communicate your hours! My experience at every Dennys has always been a positive one, except for this one. This is the WORST RESTAURANT I have ever eaten at. The food was horrendous. I mean how can you get bacon, toast and eggs wrong??!! When you have to use a knife to cut your pancakes, and your toast is a day old - that says a whole lot. A standard Denny's. The food is average, reasonably priced and always sounds better than it turns out to be. We intended to stop at a place nearby, only to find it closed and short on time to find something else. Overall, the meal here was good. I had a Holiday Harvest Skillet, which featured a Gouda-Apple Chicken Sausage. I couldn't taste the Apple, and the Gouda liquefied against the hot skillet as I cut into the Sausage. I saw the television commercials and decided to give Denny's a try for breakfast. I drove all the way over to the Cornith location from Prosper and they were closed. All the signs said open 24 Hours. So I drove all the way up north to the one in Denton off of I-35. They had a hand written note on the door that said they were going to open at 6:00 am. It was after 6:00 am and the door was locked. I could see two employees inside but they seemed to busy to notice me. I waited outside the front door for ten minutes and then decided they weren't going to open. So I went just down and around the corner to Waffle House. I believe upper management is not doing their job and checking on their business. read more

Came in on a Sunday before church. We sat for a few minutes before our waiter came. We order two grand slam breakfasts. Everything was cooked to our liking and it came out quickly which was great because we were running late. We did have to flag someone down to get a drink refill but overall our experience was good. read more

I'm relieved to write this update. I guess around early November this location got another manager who is turning everything around. We have been three times since late December and can see this place is turning around. First of all, they were actually fully staffed on all of our last visits. The service was friendly and attentive, the food came out in a reasonable time and it tasted as expected, very good for diner food. Nancy and Cindy gave us an update on the changes on our first visit back, which was us giving them one last chance, and I felt really good about continuing to give my business here. Gus was all smiles despite a huge crowd on a holiday on our second visit and did a fantastic job, very impressed. We had Cindy again on our last visit and she was really on top of things. There was one mistake with the cook of my last meal but Cindy promptly got it taken care of and didn't charge me for a juice I added on to the order. I actually enjoyed all the items we had, especially the cake batter shake, mmmmm! Portions are very reasonable and prices are fair here. The food is good for the atmosphere and the service was great. Not much to complain about now that they have a new manager. I will say that on all three of these visits the two young people working the host stand are not attentive and do not smile... like at all. It was distracting and out of place with the rest of the restaurant. So yes, they are still working out some kinks, but this is more like it used to be and not at all like it was over the last year. I am giving 0 stars, I stopped at the Dennys in Denton ,They were not busy at all and it took my server a while to take my order, there was Mexican Music coming from kitchen that was so loud, I finally got my food 23 mins later, my Eggs were not cooked all the way my Hashbrowns were burnt and the sausage links where so tough and chewy. The cook was talking to a Manger or Boss just chilling and my food was on grill. It was the worst breakfast I have ever ordered, and so loud from Mexican music, I just paid and left. I know that I will never go to the Dennys in Denton and eat if that Hispanic cook is cooking ,his food was horrible, I come here a lot late in the evenings,and the food is great, The cook is very good he know What he is doing! read more

I'm not sure if I have ever really had a 5 star experience at Denny's. My kiddos seem to like it for some reason and we get free Grand Slam coupons every once in awhile so we go on occasion. Staff - The staff is always inattentive and seem put off to have us there. They are always a little rough and have 2 servers for the entire restaurant. We always have to raise our hand if we need anything and they don't seem thrilled with this. We usually head to pay before actually receiving our check after waiting for awhile and stand at the cash register for a few minutes. Food - The food is usually pretty quick which is nice, i just wish it taste better. I love pancakes but usually don't finish my pancakes here. Most of the other food is a little better, but nothing great. Cleanliness - There are always multiple tables dirty when we go in. I usually have to brush off our seats before we sit down. Not much more to say about Denny's. If my kids didn't like it I would not go back. read more

Let me start by saying I love Denny's. Worked at one in high school. I'm a college student and a server, and me and my friends went to this one. The manager (Melissa) took care of us. She was rude taking our order. We got no drink reveals. When she brought me my zesty nachos I informed her I didn't get sour cream or pick. She brought them back with attitude. We received our pancake puppies 30 min after our food, and they were burnt. Melissa did remove them from the tab. We also received ZERO drink refills and never got checked on. At the end we had to ask a server to get our checks. I'm a server, so I would understand if she was busy on the floor, but she was no where in sight, and when she was present she was rude. Nonetheless, we all still tipped because we are servers. Do not recommend having Melissa as a server. Everyone else was at least nice to us and their tables from what we observed. read more

Tried to go to this Denny's twice in the past couple of weeks, the 1st time I went they said they weren't seating anybody even though they're open 24/7, the 2nd time I tried to go on a Sunday night and they said they weren't seating anybody again like at this point I don't even think it has anything to do with an employee shortage I just feel like the workers are too lazy to do their job because when I looked through they only had 3 tables seated while the rest of them were empty and I saw 6 or 7 other employees in the back so I don't know what kind of excuse this Denny's is trying to pull but they shouldn't be open if they don't want to serve customers at night even though there's rarely any people. read more

We always stop here when we travel between home (Houston, TX) and visiting family in Kansas and Oklahoma, and it's always been decent. It's not amazing, but the people are friendly and the food is good. We stopped here again the other day on our way to Tulsa and while our waitress wasn't very friendly, the food was good and the coffee hot. That's all we needed/wanted at 5 am on our road trip. It seems to be pretty consistent and I do like the $2, $4, $6, $8 meal options. The Grand Slam Slugger is a huge meal with pancakes, eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon and coffee and juice or a soda for $8. You really can't beat that at all. It's a nice constant to know this is always here and open and easy to get to from the highway, no matter which way we are traveling. read more

This was probably some of the worst service I've ever had. I'm baffled at how rude our server was to my table. As a server myself, I would never treat any of my tables the way I was treated tonight. The food came out great but when I asked the waitress if I could order some pancakes after my meal she rolled her eyes in front of my face! We waited more than 10min for water refills and watched our food sit in the window for at least 6 minutes with 2 other waitresses passing by it more than once. Never coming back here. read more

The food is good, but this location has a lot of problems. We really have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but over the past couple of years at various visits: They have run out of a lot of things, like we try to order four or five things off the menu before we find something they have not run out of. The entire restaurant being run by one cook and one server who is functioning as waitress, hostess and cashier for the whole place. Once we tried to go and the entire kitchen staff had just walked off the job. Several times the air conditioning has been broken and the temps in the restaurant were over 90. This last time, they appeared to have a full compliment of staff, but there were at least six unbussed tables, a line at the register of about five people waiting to pay and we stood at the hostess stand for 15 minutes (no one had taken our name, and there was plenty of seating, bussed and unbussed) before we left and went to the Waffle House across the road. We are giving up on this Denny's location. They worked really hard to lose customers; I would hate to dissapoint them. read more

My friends and I were looking for a nice diner to get a decent late night meal, the meal we had here couldnt have been further from that. The food and service were absolutely horrendous. Some of the worst in recent memory. We had a fair sized group, five of us, nothing to crazy. It was around 10 pm and although there was a large group of maybe a dozen seated nearby, business seemed rather managable. Apparently, not the case! We were seated promptly, were given menus and waters but suddenly it went on a break-necked plummit downhill from there. After mulling over our menus for a few minutes, we waited for our waitress... and waited... and waited... AND WAITED! At this point, we had exhuasted our limited supply of water and were all reaching a point of dehydration. After waiting what was probably 20 minutes, we finally placed our orders and got our waters refilled. EXCEPT SHE FORGOT MINE! Had it not been for one of my friends, I might have dehydrated fully. I would've shrivelled up like Voldemort and died. Now we waited about 45 minutes for our food, which all was luke warm at best. Definetly only kept warm from the heat lamps. And one of our friends didnt even get her food in time! She didnt get her food for an additional 25 minutes! By then we were mostly done with our very bland microwave tasting meals. At this point, we just wanted our checks so we could get the hell out of there. It took another 45 minutes before we could just get our checks. We are have worked in the service industry for years at various jobs, as we are all college students, so we have a much larger understanding and more patience then your average customer. BUT THIS WAS RIDICULOUS! There was trash and dirty dishes everywhere which really added to the welcoming, cozy atmosphere. They were fully staffed but didnt act like it whatsoever. We all agreed, worst service we've had in a LONG time! After what felt like several years in this run down mediocre diner, I felt as though dementia and gray hairs were coming on to my 22 year old self. We finally paid, left no tip and got the hell out of there! If you have nothing to do, have so much time to kill that its depressing, or like very meh food; go to this Denny's! Hell, you could probably read a novel in between getting refills so great for book clubs I guess! read more
