I ordered the Cowboy Chopped Steak & she forgot the dinner bread that comes with it & the onion rings. I told her about it & all she could do was give me the meal on the house. I refused since the steak was extremely dry & disgusting compared to how I get it at all the other locations I've visited. Please avoid this Denny's at all costs. I was CRAVING spaghetti and meatballs....but at eleven O'clock at night in Monrovia...it's not gunna happen...unless the manager, Jose, at Denny's is on duty. I placed the order online and when I arrived I got the bad news that they were out of the meat balls for my spaghetti. UGH! The ONLY reason I gave this establishment 2 stars is because their customer service is decent. I go to this restaurant pretty often because its open 24/7. Almost every time I go, I always end up with a disappointing meal and poor service. Sometimes my waiter won't come to check on my table. I've been coming here my entire life. And when you're a child, you think going to any restaurant is awesome. Unfortunately, the food there has become bland, and the service there mediocre. I basically only go there for their breakfast. It's ok, nothing special. I'd rather spend the time myself to make an even better breakfast. However, there were also some instances that made me question as to how this restaurant is still in business. I remember YEARS ago, when I was about 10, i went with my family there for breakfast. We all ordered drinks and when they arrived my mom instantly noticed a lipstick stain on the rim of her glass. We were all instantly revolted and I assumed that they forgot to clean that one glass. Naive me. Flash forward when I'm 16, and I go there again. And the exact same thing happened to a couple next to me. I felt so horrible for them, that I wanted to tell them that the same thing had happened in the past. But what do you expect? They just dump all their dishes in the dishwasher and obviously don't care to inspect each glass. Thus leaving you to discover the bright red lipstick on your glass. Flash forward again when I'm 17. I came here along with all my friends after homecoming and unsurprisingly we found the rest of the school there. Denny's is that famous in Duarte. It was already 12 midnight, but there were alot of people there. My cousin had ordered 30 minutes before me along with her table, when my party had arrived after. Instead of being served her food first, my table was given our food before. And here's the shocker. Denny's gave one of the girls at my cousins table (she was 17), an alchoholic beverage. I don't know the outcome if whether anything was said to the manager, but my cousin, already pissed with the service, was enraged once again over the mixup. What ensued was a war of words between her and the staff. Because of this bitterweet relationship with Denny's, I don't come here as much as I used to. I wish I could give this place zero stars!! I ordered food for pick up from the website. My order was to be picked up at 10:30am and I arrived around 10:38 ish to get my food. When I arrived they were packed and the hostess Jade did not know what she was doing. I went to the sign where it said pick up and no one I mean no one acknowledged that i was there. The Asian manager whom claims to be the owner also Was right there and did not acknowledge me nor anyone else that was there to get their food. Jade and the other hostess were helping the people that were to be seated or pay their bill but not those whom paid online and where there to get out food. Mind you this whole time the food to go bags were sitting at the front desk just getting cold. A server walked up and wAs helping people to pay, I asked her could she help me get my food and she told me the other girls would help and walked away. I asked jade to get her manager and she walked away and was doing God knows what to not back back to the front desk. Mind you no one told myself or others they would be with us or sorry for the wait. They literally me eft everyone at the front desk looking for help. My food was sitting at that front desk more than 10 minutes now with no type of light to keep it heated or in a sanitary location it Was still at the front desk. Finally the manager dragged his feet over to me and at that point I no longer wanted the food for my children that I am sure was cold and in insanitary from just sitting out so I requested a full refund. The manager did not acknowledge their wrong doing I had to demand an apology for their lack of customer service and help. He refused to give me their Corporate number which is ok because I i got it on my own and will be contacting them tomorrow. I explained that the eggs and pork bacon was sitting out for almost 10-20 minutes out in the bags with no light to keep warm which then can get bacteria and no longer is fresh. This was our first time at this particular location. I didn't get our servers name but she was great. Very friendly and attentive. Great on checking on us and getting refills. My issue with all Denny's including this location is every time I order a sirloin steak it's ALWAYS cooked wrong and I have to send it back every single time. I even tell all servers in advance that I don't want it well done. This location screwed up my steak like all the others. They didn't have a kids cup my daughter wanted but that's fine. The rest of the food was great. Mashed potatoes are always good. I'm seriously considering never going back to a Denny's simply because the cooks (I'm assuming) aren't trained how to cook. I noticed several times as well that my steak always comes out tasting like eggs. I like eggs but I don't like my meat tasting like one. Get it together Denny's. This experience was unacceptable. I waited 15 min before being acknowledged . When my guest arrived we waited another 10 minutes for service. I noticed others being helped while I waited. When the waiter brought me coffee it was after he served customers that came in after we did. My meal came, breakfast, and it was cold. I sent it back and they returned it microwaved. Same plate, same eggs! I will not return to this Denny's. I understand being busy but communication helps. And the excuse of short help os a management issue not a customer issue. The host service, Jade specifically, leaves a lot to be desired. She skipped over us when we were waiting to be seated. She took people that had arrived within 5 minutes when our party and several other groups had been waiting at least half an hour. I was so tempted to leave $0 as tip, but our poor server did try her best to offer us good service. I strongly reccomend you train your seating hosts to follow the rules of seating on a first come, first served basis or you will definitely lose a lot of customers. read more

I was eating with my family and i saw about three lone ants roaming the table and got suspicious. Then, I started feeling things crawling up my back and i turned around only to see hundreds of ants coming out of a ripped crease in the booth. we immediately moved tables and told our waitress that there were a lot of ants and showed her. she was very flippant and said that a lot of kids go there and drop food and ants are inevitable and that she would clean it up soon. we stayed there for about twenty more minutes to finish our drinks and left our food on the old table with the ants. in the 20 minutes, not only were the ants not cleaned up, the food and the table weren't either. hmmm denny's... maybe the ants aren't from the children, they're from your workers reluctance to clean their restaurant. read more

This is the best Dennys in the whole San Gabriel Valley. The food is better than any other Dennys. The manager Jose is always friendly and helpful. Our favorite waitress Nellie is the best in the west!! She gives the best service!! Our second favorite waitress is Gina, great service too!! Love these 3 people! It's like coming home to be here. Came here this evening to grab some pancakes for dinner. Ordered the all you can eat pancakes off the value menu. The first order was great but the next pair came out burnt. I asked the waiter nicely if they could make me new ones since they were burnt the waiter left and returned within a minute and asked if they were better. I looked at them and they were a little lighter but i flipped the pancakes over and they were as dark as the first time. I feel like they just flipped them over. Hello, I recently went to denny's to have a meal with my sister. Everything went well but the only few issues I had was that place was so cold and when I went to pay my debit card somehow it was not working. I tried many times but it wasn't working. The manager comes over to try and assist me then proceeds to ask for my id and assume right away that i wanted to ditch and dine. She refused to give me back the id when i asked for it multiple times even when she knew we had another method of payment which was apple pay. Even while my sister was paying for our meal I had asked her again if i could have my id back and she refused. It not only upset me and my sister it made me feel uncomfortable and made me feel as though i was going steal when i wasn't. It was just utterly disrespectful for her to assume we where not going to pay for our meal and her refusing to give me back my ID. Luckily our payment method went through and if I wouldn't have asked for my ID she wouldn't have given it back. I feel very targeted and an apology would have been nice for the way she acted and made me feel. I won't be coming back. read more

The food here is amazing. The cooks do a great job and everything is really good. I fluent here often because I just love the food. My issue is that they seem to be understaffed. Took 30 minutes for me to sit down and get my order. After I was done I had to call the waiter for the check and a box to go. She went back and started having a conversation with one of her friends. After another 10 minutes I went up to the front and asked the cashier who just did the waiters job from the beginning. It took me 10 minutes to get my food and eat. 40 minutes was just me waiting.
