Average breakfast experience this morning. Was seated in the back room. Ordered from server, brought our water, coffee, food, and bill. Couldn't get attention for water and coffee refills. Went to the front desk asked for items still nothing. Eggs and potatoes were cooked great. Never going and sit in the back room again. The front desk ladies had a attitude that I was bothering them with my request. Won't recommend this Denny's to anyone. read more

Being retired, we come here every Saturday for breakfast because we get a senior discount. But even without that, I would still come here. Sure, there are cool, popular and trendy places out there but the lines are always long and they're pricier too! Anyway, someone here said 'you can never go wrong with Denny's.' Well, I agree. I prefer this to the one in Arcadia (wind mill) which is where we started going early this year after they reopened. But we find this one in Duarte has better wait staff and they actually give you a pot of coffee! Our server, Mayra, is so efficient and we just adore her personality. Anyway, as far as food, we always get the same thing and the quality is pretty darn good, especially the pancakes. I give them 5 stars even though their bacon & sausages are so thin and small, but figure for the price and the quantity you get anyway, I'm not complaining! read more

I've lived in the area for the past 37 years. We stopped going to the Dennys in Duarte because we were always unhappy with the service. About 11 years ago, we stopped there for dinner and were pleasantly surprised with the service. The new manager "Jose" is so friendly and goes out of his way to learn your name and welcome you. We have dined here many times and the timing is never stellar but nothing like this afternoon. My husband and son went in and stood at the front near the restrooms, waiting to be sat. It was a few min before another couple entered and sat down also waiting to be sat. A gentleman came up to pay and after that, the server went to seat the other couple who came in AFTER them. Completely ignoring my husband and son. So, my husband went and sat themselves thinking that he would get some assistance. Apparently, my husband and son must be wearing invisibility cloaks because the server ignored them. Never has this happened here and the gentleman working was someone my husband had never seen before. They waited about 15 min and decided to just leave since clearly the server didn't wish to help them and they drove 15 min out of their way to the Arcadia Denny's and received much better service. Shout out to Rico. This is a shame because we can walk to this Denny's and the lack of service and blatant ignoring of my husband and son, will cause us to not dine there anymore and we truly prefer to support our local establishments. Walked into this location at peak dinner time and was immediately welcomed in my a woman by the name of Nelly. She asked how we were doing and then proceeded to seat me and my party. After taking our order, I quickly realized that Nelly was single handedly taking care of the whole dining area which consisted of 11 full tables! I saw her also managing the cashier and helping people check out! She was doing everything possible. She continued to treat us with such kindness and I felt how genuinely she cared about what she was doing. It honestly felt like she welcomed us into her home to have dinner. (Crazy to say this right? Im at a Dennys for crying out loud). Whoever this Nelly woman is, I wish her all the best and really hope that she climbs higher in her position because she truly made me feel welcome and happy with her amazing attitude. This review it solely about Adrianna. She was really sweet and soft spoken and very accommodating. I asked for a kids menu because I didn't have a a huge appetite. Rather than giving me a hard time because I'm clearly not a kid, she brought it to me without hesitation. We bonded right away because she saw I was doing homework and she was sharing her dreams and goals with me. Although Denny's is a pit stop for her to achieve her bigger goals, she still presented herself authentically with exceptional customer service. I appreciated that she respects smh space and didn't governor jeep checking on me too much understanding that I was doing homework. I frequent Denny's for my late night study sessions and I'm often disappointed by the lack of attention and service. I'm rarely checked on or spoken to. Large location,the service is slow and the waiters are nearly absent your entire time there,the lasagna was given to my wife and I separately then the rest of our meal which is a bummer considering where on a marital date,the lasagna was hot yet lacked flavor and was a bit greesy ,my Cali sandwich was not as advertised,the picture on the menu shows deli cut meats and I received what appeared to be packaged meats .the location was fresh that was about the only plus ,on this scorching hot cali day. read more
