Terrible workers/service. Everything feels icky as if it hasn't been cleaned properly and the restaurant smells of dirty rags.

My girlfriend and I went to Denny's on a Tuesday evening. Walked in at 6:25 pm with plans to catch a 7:30 pm movie a few blocks away. The manager was acting as hostess & cashier. She didn't greet us or really even look at us as we were standing waiting to be seated (along with a few other people). She was slowly pushing some tables together and wiping off other tables. After 5 minutes she grumpily said "go sit in that booth over there and I'll get you menus." Our waiter was pleasant and seemed to be rushing around a lot. There were at least 3 wait staff in addition to the manager, but it seemed like no one was getting food. We did learn that Tuesdays are "kids eat free" nights, so that's I'm sure a factor. Still the place wasn't even half full. We ordered our food within a few minutes of being seated, but after 25 minutes of no sign of food (or drink refills) I finally flagged down our waiter and asked when we might get our food since we were trying to make a movie. He said the kitchen was backed up but he'd ask. I heard him ask the cooks (since we were right by where they hand food out) and the cooks seemed to be yelling at the guy nastily. He went and told the manager, who then went back into the kitchen. Neither our waiter or the manager bothered to tell us what the timeline was on our food. When our food (2 sandwiches with fries) finally did come after a 30 minute wait it was hot and tasted fine. When I went to the cash register to pay, a nice young waitress stepped up to the 2nd register to help the manager ring people out (I got her). After paying with a debit card, she printed out my copy of the receipt with my tip added. My total was WAY off. The waitress had put my total amount (bill plus tip) down as my tip, meaning I'd left an $18 tip on a $14 bill for a total of $32! I was the one that noticed. I had to wait 5 more minutes for the manager to fix the billing issue. Based on this experience, I will not be eating at this Denny's again and doubt I'll ever try another one. When we went there I ordered one of their breakfast skillets and it came out burnt to a crisp. The coffee was pretty burnt and subpar as well. I guess I can't expect too much out of a Dennys, but I expected more than that. Despite the food being almost inedible, the service was awesome, the waitress was very nice, attentive, and very good at her job, too bad the cook (if you want to call him that) wasnt. read more

I don't know how they did it but they are ten times better then they were a few months ago . food is fast and hot waitress Tabitha was friendly the bus boy Paul so sweet and friendly and I can't get over how great the manager was I think he said his name was Jeremy he really is Turning this place around. we will be back for sure read more

I have been eating here for sometime and the last few times have been getting worse each time. Today it was during the Sunday crowd when there was a line at the front door waiting to be seated. It was quite evident that there were several tables that weren't bussed yet, if they had been there were plenty for the people in line to be seated. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated at a booth where she just left us. Another 10 minutes I noticed the person in line behind me started bussing the tables herself moving dishes from two other tables to third table. We decided to leave at which time the manager approached us and asked for a drink order as we got up. I told her they clearly have a problem and need to work on doing better when she started to tell me off as I walked out. They need to get rid of the current manager and find one that knows how to run a diner. read more

We stopped here on Christmas Day and surprisingly, it wasn't very busy. The food was kind of hit and miss - some of our orders were good; others- not so much. A very friendly and accomdating server brought the rating up to 3 stars. read more

Service was horrible. Waited 10 minutes for menus. The table next to us was trying to get attention of the waitress and we had to help them. The employees were talking shit about us after we came in. The waitress we had was sweet and was trying but extremely slow. read more

My family and I went in yesterday about 4:30 ,not busy at all ,the service was horrible ,had a hair in English muffin sent it back ,the waitress asked my husband if he wanted a refill on coffee never came back with coffee or another muffin ,I did not get a refill ,my daughter had one refill and that was when she served the food ,the waitress was standing around talking and she did not come back to our table after I said something about my muffin ,and when paying for it she come up and took 20% off the bill ...that's was not worth it and I just wanted to leave read more

I came here twice a month to treat myself to a breakfast. It might be that one person with one order is not worth the time and energy of the servers. It became too difficult to place an order once seated. It seems one person seated by themselves is pretty easy to forget for some of the servers, on a routine basis. But it also happened as a couple, so I'm not sure. I like seeing my honey eat happy. That could not happen here a few times. Too much aggravation. read more

First negative review I've had to leave on an establishment. This Denny's was recently remodeled. Unfortunately, it's still dirty. Two dirty coffee cups, spotty glassware, and not even an apology from management. The waitstaff were very inattentive and seemed inconvenienced to do their job and keep our drinks full. Food was just ok and took far too long to arrive for as few tables as they had seated. We won't be back. read more

I've been here a few times with my kids. It's what you would expect from a chain restraint nothing super amazing. I do have go say all three times I've had outstanding service. I've also had a manager check in on us each time to make sure everything was to our liking. read more

For a chain restaurant, I would have hoped for quicker service, but my experience at this Denny's was quite slow. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or maybe a handful of people were new, but we waited about 10 minutes for our waiter to show, and double that time frame for our food to come out. Regardless, the staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delivered to us hot and delicious. (I was worried it was going to come out cold.) Not a bad overall experience, but I hope they get their timing better managed! read more

Pancakes were so over cooked husband was picking off burnt black pieces. Waitress never brought our orange juice. Ordered bacon, got sausage instead. Pancake buddies were extremely greasy and also over cooked/burnt. It's now 3am and husband is running to the bathroom. Stomach aches for hours. Avoid this place there are better places to eat in town. Will not be back. read more

Went to dennys last night and i ordered soup and salad, the waiter asked if i wanted the salad first, i said yes. Got my salad, in a few minutes my partner got her food. I finished my salad, no soup. My dinner partner finished her soup, still no salad. When i asked, the waiter said that someone who ordered after i did was given the last soup. Could no one have told me and given me the option of ordering something else? Also, i did not ask for but the waiter informed me the manager would not give us any kind of discount. I went home hungry. I find the management at dennys to be subpar without the energy to even act like they care about their custmers. read more

Terrible service. They ALWAYS get my order wrong. Not sure if it's always waiter's or cook's fault, but it happens to me literally EVERY time... not just me, my whole group. On top of that, they take FOREVER. read more

Had not eaten at this Denny's in about 8 months. We went last night and spent most of today laughing about how bad the food was. I ordered the chicken fried steak with broccoli and cheesy potatos. It came with a veggie salad and garlic bread. Salad was served with Hot Wing sauce instead of French. When I mentioned it to the server she said that's happened before. I'll tell the manager. Huh? Was up most of the night with heartburn. They must use old oil to fry the steak. Cheesy potatoes are a scoop of mashed potatoes with slice of American cheese melted on them. Heated frozen broccoli was good. It will be longer than 8 months before we return. This Denny's needs to shut the doors and start over. read more

Went there on a Sunday morning and grant you they were busy but people were not waiting. Server was prompt and attentive. Food did not arrive for 40-45 min after ordering. I have only sent back food twice in my life and today makes 3. My eggs were runny but the mushrooms were still not cooked. They were better when they came back but not fully cooked. I chose just to not eat all of the, The sausage was good but the hash browns were rubbery. No flavor in the food at all. Waitress knew I was not happy since I left the majority of it. Manager, at checkout did not ask how our experience was, so I told him, after I paid the full bill. I then told him that was the worst breakfast I ever had, to which he said I wish you would have said something and I would have done something to the bill. I told him it was not my responsibility to ask how my meal was, it was his and the waitresses. He then said, well we have been busy! Really....that is your best response to a customer. Service was average. Food probably slightly below. They vacuumed the floor multiple times while we were eating. Fights between kitchen staff and servers were a frequent occurrence as well as loud shouting through the window between the bar area and kitchen. Understaffed and very unorganized. Probably will not be coming here again. read more

They used to be good in 2012 and 2013 but something changed. I waited 40 minutes for salad and soup, which didn't make sense to me as salad is easily prepared, and the soup in a warmer. It didn't look busy inside so I again did not understand the wait. Another time when ordering, they said "we don't have broccoli" but later said "we found some." They brought it out and it was brown and spoiled looking. Since placing a complaint the manager reached out and he was nice and apologetic, promising us he'd personally serve us to prove they do good there. His response to the complaint was nice. I am completely shocked by the multiple poor reviews given this Denny's. I have always gotten good service and good food there -- even before the beautiful re-model. And they have the best chicken -- tender, juicy, tasty -- of anybody around. Several months ago I went to a very expensive restaurant in Edwardsville and ordered chicken. It was so bad that I did something I practically never do and sent it back. I also recommended to them that they take lessons for making chicken from the cooks at this Denny's. One of the best Denny's I've been to in years. This location still cares about the franchise, unlike the remaining ones around the country.

Straight up nasty... menus sticky, couldnt get 3 drinks right, tables and floor dirty, my husband went to the restroom and there was trash everywhere. The employees are horrible, and to be honest I dont even think our waitress washed her hands after cleaning up other peoples mess before serving our food to us. They swept the floor twice in 10 min and there is still stuff on the floor. The broom and other cleaning supplies are stored right behind my moms head. Instead of being stored behind the wall. It is right behind our heads. So when they grab the handles they are almost brushing their nasty hand in our hair. They lift the menus up and making a sticky noise as if covered in syurp. Instead of cleaning them. They just throw them in the stack. I could hear the noise from 10 feet away. I told them that grits arent supposed to be watery and they looked at me like I was stupid. The only reason they got 1 star was because yelp made me. We will never eat at a Denny's again. for this place being newly remodel this place needs to be shut down. read more
