Help me understand how a plant based whole grain slam with eggs, substituting fruit for sausage is an upsell when the menu indicates the same price. FYI - plant based is a term commonly used to indicate vegan. Plant based is a kinder gentler term for those who might be vegan regarding food, but may use animal products in clothing & other choices. The service was fantastic! Pamela was an amazing front desk person and waitress! We had several questions before we committed to eating there due to our dietary needs. Pamela went the extra mile to get our questions answered! We ordered and glad we did, the breakfast (9 grain pancakes and a delicious skillet dish) was sooo good! This dennys is GREAT!!!! The server was so efficient and so kind, positive attitude. Food was delicious, I got the bacon avocado cheeseburger and it was so yummy!! My only complaint is the lack of ac!!!! It was 98 so it was hot and after driving I sat in a "room-temperature" room, I felt so bad for the workers. I hope to return to an ac'd restaurant! read more

We stopped at this Denny's right off I-5 in Santa Nella while traveling, and overall it was a solid, predictable stop. Ray ordered the salmon with broccoli and corn and said it was really good. I had the turkey sandwich with cheese, tomato, and bacon. The flavor was good, but there was a bit too much bread compared to the turkey and fillings, which threw off the balance for me. Our server, Tiffany, was very nice and focused. She did a great job staying on top of things and made sure everything came out smoothly. The biggest downside was the condition of the furniture. Many of the seats and benches were torn up, with damaged vinyl and exposed cushioning. That's definitely something that should be addressed, as no one enjoys sitting on worn or broken seating. That said, we stop at Denny's from time to time because you generally know what to expect--it's reliable when you don't want to guess. With some updates to the seating, this location would be much more comfortable. read more

Stopped here on the way to SoCal. Parking was plentiful. Wasn't exactly sure about the seating situation as no one was there to greet me but I took a seat at the counter, no biggie. My food came within five minutes of ordering. It was piping hot and refreshing. Waitress checked on me multiple times and was really chill. Honestly, all the employees I saw interacting with guests and each other were really friendly, like they've been working together for a while and have a good rhythm. I liked seeing that. Bathrooms were a bit untidy but it's also a truck stop--I'm not expecting the Ritz when I walk in, ya know? I would trust this place again if I needed to come back out this way. read more

I was headed down the 5 at Oh dark thirty headed to SoCal and breakfast time was approaching. Checking the GPS of what open at 4:30 am I came up with this Denny's. I give it to Denny's maybe not the best food around, but they come through when you need something to eat at all odd hours and easy freeway access. I pull in and it open! The service was fine and fast. I ordered a standard breakfast with hashbrowns , eggs scrambled, sausage and pancakes instead of my usual toast. I didn't have to wait long and my food arrived. That's a lot of food! I suppose if you were a big truck drivin man, this would be right up your alley! The hashbrowns were most fab. The eggs were eggs and the sausage links were OK. The pancakes ... or flapjacks as they might be call round these parts ... were light and fluffy and I slathered all the butter I could on those bad boys! Needless to say, I wasn't able to eat all that food and non of it really travels that well, so I had to leave some food on the plate. I have been a regular of this location ( Santa Nella/ Gustine) for years. The customer service the food and the people that come in and the meals are amazing. The is no reason for a road side Denny's to be this good! Best Denny's food I've ever had and just the nicest staff. There isn't much around in the area so they could probably be trash and still get customers but that's not the case. If you're in the area and looking for food or just a nice place to rest with clean restrooms look no further! read more

This is the second time I've eaten here and it's the only Denny's I've been to in recent memory. Once was for breakfast and I had the Fit Slam which was surprisingly good. I found myself here again but this time at 11pm so I thought I'd try dinner. The service was great maybe because the place was empty, but during a busy breakfast here it was just as good so they are two for two for me. It seems like a new Denny's the decor feels mid century modern meets diner and cafeteria. I like the booths and the counter but the tables are meh. I had a sirloin steak dinner which comes with two sides and garlic bread they call dinner bread all for $15.99. I was expecting to be disappointed and I was shocked at the quality of the steak and the flavors. I think garlic butter was involved. Cooked to perfection a couple chewy bites in there but nothing grizzly. So delicious some bites a little salty for my taste but I'm low sodium. I had the country style potatoes which are like deep fried and spiced and salted to perfection. Added a little Cholula to them and it was epic. The other side was a vegetable medley which I was expecting to be like frozen veggies that were steamed. Probably were frozen but I couldn't tell they were grilled up with onions and maybe butter and garlic and some spices. A nice mix of broccoli and bell peppers and zucchini and onions and carrots. I will postscript this with I haven't eaten in 6 hours and it was just nice to get out of the car for a while and relax in a peaceful restaurant with some warm good food. read more

Our group of 8 stopped in on a Saturday around 10:30am. Separate checks. The restaurant was clean, no dirty tables. This Denny's is on the smaller size and there were only two servers. But, We were sat quickly and given great service the entire time. All of the food came out pretty much together and it was all standard Denny's fare. I veered from my standard biscuits and gravy and regretted it as I do every time. I ordered the French toast grand slam and the French toast, while good, was soggy so I could only eat a couple bites - the only reason I took a star off. Overall a good visit. read more

OK, first of all let me say I have been to this Denny's for many years of my life and I've never given them a review so saying that I have to say the food has always been good. The ambience is a typical Denny's. The service is always pretty decent but this last weekend we happen to talk to this Mexican lady about our grandkids. She was very nice. I wish I would've got her name because she made our visit extra special and we hope the best for her and her grandkids. She is why the 4th star. Good customer service great food and not much of a wait . Perfect place to stop and get breakfast when passing by on your travels. Food was delicious and did not dig a whole in my wallet and first Dennys I been in that plays all Latin music. This was a great surprise! I am on a road trip. I have tried to stop at various places to sit Inside and have a simple meal. While trying to do that I encountered an overwhelmed staff at two other roadsides restaurants and a clientele that didn't find wearing a mask essential. So, I decided to go off the beaten path, get gas here and much to my surprise opt for Denny's. I cannot tell you the last time I was dining at Denny's. This place is clean! This place is practices socially distancing! This place enforces mask wearing and all guests are respectful of that! Also, I can order a salmon salad at 10:30 and they were happy to oblige. I also got the side of bacon because I am keto friendly right nOw and what the heck. They also know how to make a decent cup of coffee-I guess they have had a lot of practice. So moral to my story..take a few more minutes, go off the beaten path and sometimes opt for an oldie but goodie. BTW, I also picked up a bag of almonds and pistachios from a local cart vendor! Road trip - stopped to feed the hungry kids. Service is friendly and good. The full menu is available but not really. They are sold out of so many items and then the ones that aren't marked may still not be available. AVOID tables with direct sunlight unless you are the lord of the flies. Our server Angelica did amazing! Only one cook and one server for a slow afternoon but you wouldn't know because service was great and speedy. Service was slow here. Waited for more than 5 minutes before we can be seated (they were not packed and no one was waiting ahead of us), and another 15 minutes to order food. The waitress attended to the other party came after us instead of our table first. When I waved my hand at her, she came by and said "let me get them their (the party who came after us) drinks first or are you ready to put in all of your orders?" Seriously, if I am not ready to order, why am I waving for you to come over?! Hello?! I was already being seated for 15 minutes!
