Seating and Service came quickly. Some discussion and feedback in the menue were highly appreciated. The steaks withbrice and corn came out the same time: medium rare and medium. Very good, shows that the chef knows his work. He looked briefly around the corner and checked if we are ok. Yes we are. Our question for desert was well received and we got recommendations for the cheesecake with extra berries and the warm apple with vanilla ice cream. Pretty busy for a Saturday night during a pandemic. Our server was odd. We were well taken care of he just seemed distant and distracted. I could hear the couple behind us complaining he forgot their ketchup and milk shakes and he took care of it and didn't charge them for the drinks. We were just out looking for some dessert and found the greatest chocolate lava cake. Huge scoop of vanilla ice cream too. All for just 3.99. Denny's is one of those chain restaurants that is national but different everywhere you go, even within the same region. For example, the one on the Blvd in Niagara Falls has terrible service but the food is always good. The one on Maple in Amherst is inconsistent with their portions and prices depending on which server you get. And the one on Camp in Hamburg is really slow. BUT the server today went above and beyond to make us happy!! Thank you, server Lucas S.!!! When we arrived, the two ladies running the cash register and seating guests seemed to need a Valium; the brunette especially. The blonde was impersonal and confused gathering names for the waitlist while the brunette was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. When asked how long the wait would be, she said "not too long". What does that mean? One persons perception of not too long may be 5 minutes while another person's may be 30 minutes. Her response was too vague. When asked to clarify she told the guest it would be 15 minutes; that guest left. I guess 15 minutes was too long from his perspective. After a 10 minute wait the brunette hostess called my party of three to be seated. When we approached she said "oh wait, let me go find a table". So now we had to stand at the counter waiting instead of comfortably seated as we were. She eventually came back and seated us in server Lucas' booth. Lucas had a rocky start as our drinks sat empty for a while, but once he got us our first refill his attentiveness increased. The wait for food was longer than usual but he came to the table twice with updates of how many tables were in front of us and approximately how much longer it would be. I greatly appreciated this. He helped us maintain expectations instead of allowing us to sit there wondering. Way to go Lucas! Next, he brought out our food and everything was great! The country fried steak and grits were perfectly cooked! Kudos to the cook! When Lucas brought our bills he explained the pricing to us and he explained that Mike would be taking over for him since he was going on his break. I appreciated this a lot because everyone deserves a break but if you don't tell your guests they will just wonder where you disappeared to. He did well, again, maintaining our expectations. Now, Mike never came to check on us while Lucas was gone, but it's okay. We didn't need anything and Lucas checked with us upon his return. Overall, this experience was great because of Lucas. We haven't had him as our server there before, but will ask for him from now on. His service is what made this review 5 stars instead of 1. read more

Was the worst service I have ever had. Me and my two friends came in at 12:45 and our server took 20 minutes just to get to us and when he gave us our drinks he didn't take out food order and walked away and then came back 15 minutes after and our food order. Our food was sitting ready to get ran to us for like 25 minutes and our server was outside smoking with another server the entire time. The food was cold by the time we got it and it took forever to get our checks. He also messed up our order slightly and put bananas on normal chocolate chip pancakes and gave a vanilla shake instead of chocolate. We were also his only table btw. Never going back. i'm pretty sure the only waitress they have is on heroin and is dozing out. it's so far as tight half an hour to get my order placed and we had to call the cook from the back. Today we were visiting hamburg for my friends birthday and immediately was greeted with great service from our waitress SNOWY. She was very patient even tho they seem a little short staffed She was very attentive and serves our needs with professionalism. Ordered two kids chicken finger meals one omelette and one grand slam. Took 45 minutes to arrive. They are obviously super short staffed but they should stop seating people if that's the case. We've wasted over 2 hours on multiple occasions when we just came in for a quick bite. This updated review is based off of the most recent encounter. We also ordered soup... which they gave me in a coffee cup. What? And no spoon... it's chicken noodle soup....there are vegetables and chicken and noodles...things you need a spoon for to eat!!!! Have not been here in years because of past bad experiences. My husband received an email for a free birthday breakfast grand slam. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was good. When we got to the register, the email was there, but we could not get the bar code up. The cashier claimed she could not just take the meal off the bill but needed the bar code. We said okay, how about AARP discount then. Nope, not good on what we ordered. Military? same answer. You would think they could have taken the birthday slam off. We will not return. We order our favorites plus some new items and Cole is our server, very attentive, polite and was cognizant about the wait time of our food. This was an overall horrible experience. Started with being seated by a girl that obviously didn't want to be there. The waitress took our order fairly quickly and told us a couple times during our 30+ min wait that it's on its way. Mean time at least three other tables were seated after us received and finished their food before we even got ours . The pancakes were still mushy inside and the crepes were like sandpaper. We will never go back to this location and recommend that others should avoid it. If zero stars was an option on reviews that's what they would receive. read more

Went for breakfast with a few people before the Bills game this past Sunday. It was very busy and we were seated quickly without having to wait. Our waitress was very nice and kept checking up on us to make sure that we had everything we needed. There was a fairly long wait for our food to come out which was understandable considering how busy things were. I ordered that Grand Slamwich with hash browns. The sandwich was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The hash browns were underwhelming and came out slightly under cooked. For the cost of the meal it was as expected. Truly the WORST place to eat. Every few years I give it a chance. Never again. We were starving, took forever for a waitress, forever to take the food order. Forever to get the food. Food was wrong, burnt, waitress never came back. I got a piece and a half of bacon, cold toast, Burt pancakes, eggs covered with butter it should have been cheese. And some other side I didn't order. My kids wouldn't eat their pancakes bc they were straight burnt and tasted terrible. To get a box we had to ask multiple times and wait 15 minutes. Everyone around us complaining. We visited this Denny's only because it was close to out motel. When we were shown to a booth, I was handed a small pile of menus and my wife was given another collection- an incomplete menu. What is this? From the menu, I ordered the Slamburger- a burger with a fried egg, bacon and home fries plus a side of home fries. My confused wife wanted a salad but couldn't find one on her "menus", so she ordered an avacado salad with grilled chicken strips from the menu on her place mat. When our food was finally delivered, my Slamburger was, well, nothing memorable. The home fries on my side order reminded me of those served back in the day at Peggy Ann's truck stop in Rockwood, Tennessee- greasy and crispy- a real treat. my wife said that her salad was pretty good. On one of her infrequent visits, our server presented our check. Turns out that the salad that my wife ordered from there place at menu costs and extra price- something that she would have known had she ordered from their "real" menu. Denny's is a chain restaurant and this mus be the weakest link in the chain. The parking was good, the service (including the menu fiasco) was awful) and, while my home fries were great, the rest of my meal was just OK. Three stars for this Denny's read more

This location has been remodeled and for once I didn't feel like a drunk college student walking into a 24 hrs diner for some greasy grub. While I waited for my food I headed over the "fun zone" of crane machines for stuffed animals. Let's be honest, it's eggs and pancakes at Denny's..... You didn't click this review to read about how eggs taste, so let me tell you about the crane machine. We tried to win a stuffed whale and we almost got him! (Don't they always say that though??) it only costs a dollar to play! The machine on the right wouldn't accept my dollar so I moved on with my life and out the dollar bill in the machine on the left. You get two tries per dollar and it's timed. So don't over think it, there are whales to be caught here... Keep your head on a swivel people. When you go to drop the crane try to use that clear plexiglass wall near the front to your advantage. I lost a dollar, got suckered into giving them another dollar. I didn't get the whale.
