I was told that because of the wait I could not be served. So I left. But I will say this. For many years I have come here. And this is the first time I was basically asked to leave. We had been talking about taking advantage of kids eat free tuesdays for a while. I had seen a banner at this location just a few weeks ago. My husband looked up kids eat free Tuesday and we said let's do it! When we got there at 5:30 the place was deserted. There was only one table of four with 2 kids and the us. The restaurant looked like it had been renovated recently. It was nicely appointed and clean. We ordered and three more tables were occupied. There was only one server for the entire restaurant. When we tried getting his attention he did not acknowledge us a couple times and we had to ask for things a couple times. Make the long story short, the food was blah. My husband had a burger. We had four items from the kids menu. I had the Cobb salad. When I went to pay, it was over $100! The food is so so expensive here and so mediocre. They have a $20 burger. Dennys took over Cocos years ago, and this past week was my first visit in since. I was craving sandwiches and it was one of the few places open during the holidays. Ordered the new chicken sandwich and pot roast melt with seasoned fries. It was salt overload. The new strawberry sparkler with strawberry puree on the bottom was delicious. Highly recommend that drink. Service was wonderful with so much attention to detail. The establishment was clean and a great spot to host meetings. Denny's has their own parking lot, and if you're looking to host events, they're likely to be able to accomodate larger parties too. read more

Came here to get breakfast with my family, the food wasn't that bad, service was good, but we got our food in paper plates. They skimped out on the bacon and sausage. I noticed it seemed quieter than usual, couldn't figure out why until the plates showed up. read more

I like Denny's. It's not the coolest place to eat in the neighborhood (hipster hood), but this location rocks! The service is great and the restaurant has a nice vibe for a "Denny's" that I cannot explain. The waitstaff are so friendly and patrons here are equally engaging; probably long time locals in area: the same hot rods and classic cars are always parked in the parking lot. Very cool. The food is consistent and served in a timely manner. Breakfast items are my go-to choice on the menu, but I recently tried their burgers and was pleasantly surprised - it's good! Denny's is not my favorite place in town, but I love it here for reasons that once again, I can't explain! read more

Came here for a late night eat because I had been at an all day music festival nearby and I was starving and tired. When we arrived it was not bad in terms of amount of tables filled about 4 but soon they started to leave but as soon as they left a ton of quinceañeras and graduation folks started to arrive and despite the place filling up we had pretty good service! I wish my steak had a little more darkness on it and that it was a little easier to chew lol but overall it's a good place or spot and didn't have any major issues read more

The food was good but the service was the issue. My friends and I are teenagers and we decided to go get breakfast. It was somewhat busy so maybe that's the reason but I also think it's because we are kids. I feel they assumed we weren't going to pay. My friends tried to ask for a refill 5 times and they glanced at her then ignored her. They eventually gave it to her but it took a while. They also said no refills after we had asked again even though others got multiple refills. No one checked on us or asked if we needed anything. I haven't had any problems in the past when I come with my parents, but when it was just me and my friends, the service felt different. read more

Food is always hot and fresh. The cooks at night are very quick with the orders. Service is always been good. I love the breakfasts late night. I've had breakfast here. This was my first time getting dinner. It was really rough. First of all, it was freezing cold in the restaurant. I ordered the Salmon dinner. I can only eat soft foods right now so I got the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese (70 cents extra). The salmon was alright. Nothing special. Both sides were cold. Had a craving for pancakes and stopped by the Denny's just a stone's throw away from chez moi in Hipster Highland Park. Lots of families and Latino diner folk there. I got the "value slam" of 2 eggs, sausage links and 2 pancakes. The pancakes were amazing! I had low expectations for the pancakes at Denny's, but they were light and fluffy and had the right amount of "chew", and flavorful. The only thing is the syrup isn't great. Would it be acceptable to bring your own syrup there? The eggs were scrambled a little too hard, but they were fine, and the sausage was ok. But the pancakes. I have to go back. And the "value slam" is a great deal, especially if you don't have a huge appetite and can't keep down more than 2 big pancakes. I was so excited when this Denny's opened in the neighborhood. They were not very busy as there were about 6 other parties and plenty of staff. My family and I were seated by an older gentleman in a black shirt. After waiting for 20 minutes to be acknowledged, I watched a couple get seated, get their drinks ordered, and get their food ordered. At this point, I was over it and decided to order on the app- we stayed in the seats to see if they would even notice us... by 37 minutes of waiting, my online order was ready. I proceeded to the front, where I let a server know what the situation was as I asked for my order. She asked me who seated me, and as I described the man, she stated that was their MANAGER, ROBERTO... It was a good thing that I opened my sealed bag of food because we were missing 3 items and something was wrong..... after more waiting for them to correct my order and make the missing items, 50 minutes later we left HANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED. One star is generous. Zero or minus five stars would be appropriate. Went to have dinner tonight and had the worst experience. We sat and waited for close to 20 minutes for a Superbird sandwich and a Vegetable omelet. Male waiter took our order and brought our drinks and promptly ignored our table while he played favorites with two other tables. A couple seated after us got their larger order ahead of us. After 20 minutes I had enough of this nonsense and we both left. As we walked out the door the waiter said matter of factly that our food was ready. As a side note the place wasn't full of customers--only a couple other tables had customers and the female waitress serving those tables was on her game. Our waiter ignored our table. Never again will I step foot in that place as I felt we were being discriminated against. May be we weren't the right color (Caucasian) for this place. read more

This brand new Denny's opened on Monday, April 24, 2023. It is the same location as the former Coco's restaurant, however, they have completely remodeled the interior and everything is brand new. I went there last night to give the place a try and it was a great experience. I sat at the long counter near the front entrance, and the waiter who served me was brand new and only on his second shift at the new restaurant. He was very attentive and extremely polite which is all a customer could ask for. There were two older employees wearing red shirts who appeared to be training all of the new employees, and I kept watching them all huddle together as a group multiple times as the older employees in the red shirts appeared to be teaching the new employees how to do things. I ordered a Cobb salad and a Super Bird sandwich. The salad was fresh and presented well on the plate it came on. The sandwich was hot right off the grill and was delicious. I also ordered a Coke and every time my waiter saw that the glass was near empty, he brought me a refill. Overall an A+ experience that was better than any other Denny's I have ever been too. read more

Great little Denny's, staff are so friendly and nice to us, they check on us a lot. About the food, I recommend the build your own and hash browns, they are so delicious. Just make sure not to get the bacon I tried it and it tastes like cardboard. For some of the tables they don't even have syrup, so I had to get up and grab it from another table. I do love all the plants around the place, and the poster of LA, i also like how there's a museum next door. I like this place but not too much. read more

Hubby and I came in for lunch today and then my kid and her 6 friends came in. We ordered them some appetizers and Aidaly took care of them at their own booth.
