Side of Potatoes 1/5: don't order
    Rocio C.

I had a mixed experience here. The food was mostly delicious, the chilaquiles were the best, and the ricotta pancakes were super yummy. Don't order side potatoes. On the downside, the customer service wasn't great. I didn't get any coffee refills (even though it's just drip coffee), and while the coffee itself was really good, it would've been nice to get topped off. They also open at 8am, but when I arrived around 8:30, the tables were still dirty and the "closed" sign was still up, which was a little confusing. Would I go back? Maybe, because the food really was delicious. But I'm hoping the service improves.

Cute little cafe that you won't want to miss ! They have indoor and patio seating, parking is limited. Staff was friendly and great service. They had cute decors with plants and La dodgers around. Some good tunes playing. I got a lemon blueberry ricotta pancake with turkey sausage and sunny side up eggs. The pancakes 10000/10 so good ! And my bf ordered a chicken sandwich and he was satisfied with it. For drinks I got the iced chai with an extra shot of espresso. Chai was strong which i love ! I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu :) pleasant experience

Really enjoyed this small breakfast location. It is self seating and you order at the register. The custom service was great and recommended great food options. Only down side is the parking but highly recommend you try this spot out.

Huevos rancheros. They were missing the tostada but the chef quickly remedied that.

We were in this area for an appointment and we had time to kill. This was the first place we saw that had parking. We were greeted upon entering. The hostess was super friendly and helpful. The chef was the. I like these kind of unexpected treasure finds.

I'm loving the new highland cafe location! They have booths, a nice outdoor seating area, and the same great food and coffee as the original location. I went with a simple protein breakfast for today with a delicious iced americano. Thank you for the great food and service!

Coffee is amazing! But I waited over 20 minutes for two coffees. If you have time to spare try it.

Great little place in an un-busy part of the city. I loved the iced tea and the quick service. Next time I'll try breakfast.

Warm service. Excellent chilaquiles. Mayan latte made me say "wow" out loud. It's great to have another solid cafe in Glassell Park.

Is anyone hyping this place? The staff weren't interested, and the food is terrible. Really, though, I couldn't care less about the staff. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the cashier could punch me in the face, but as long as the food's primo, I'm fine. Oi. LA has some of the BEST food in the nation! Some are even claiming, "Better than NYC." Michelin stars and Bib Gourmand recs cascade through our city, so why waste your time (and money!) on anything less than spectacular.

Food: We ordered 2 Steak and Eggs ($25 each) and the Ribeye Chilaquiles ($39 each) from the Brunch special. The portion was perfect, not too big and too small. The steak was nicely prepared the way we wanted it (medium). It was very tender and flavorful - we enjoyed every bite we had especially my kids. Service: Staff are very friendly and welcoming, they were very sweet, nice and attentive. Their customer service is great! Ambiance: It is located in a plaza at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd & Brockton - they have free parking on the lot. The restaurant itself is not as big as I imagined from the pictures here in yelp - I think rough estimate is for 30-36 people max? But they do have a small cute outdoor seating area as well. We will definitely go back to this place next time we visit the area!

Check that box off here. Very clean. So far so good. Menu was a tad limited. Not a lot of choices. Waitress suggested a secret menu item " The Patty Melt" Wife requested it be cooked medium. Me, I ordered Medium rare. Patty Melts showed up. Well, Well, Well done. Patty melt had onions and special sauce. Was a surprise to me. You would think that with a limited menu the cook would be really good at making a hamburger. And yes I certainly could have done a better job. Was a cook at a high volume restaurant for years and neither of these burgers would have gone out of our kitchen. Had actual pride in what we put out. Very disappointing visit. The 101 was pretty good. Clark Street not so much. Won't be returning here. Overpriced, Overcooked and just plain old disappointing. BTW- It was not busy at all. This was my experience on our visit.
