    Mexicali

Been wanting to come here for awhile, but it closes on the earlier side and I've never made it. Well today I was getting my car tuned up down the street and walked here while they worked on it - and I'm glad I did! Got the Mexicali, added chicken, over easy egg (which was perfect). Simple but great. It had that rotisserie-style chicken, which was the best part. No shortage of cheese either, which I feel that places always skimp on. Service was fast and friendly! I'll totally come back and try the green chilaquiles next time!

First time here, we were a little hesitant at first because it said it was busy. But they had a walk up counter for to go orders as well. Indoor and out door seating. Greeted right away, staff was more than amazing. Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Coffee and water while we waited for our to go orders. Great menu selections and fair prices. The recommendation we got for the breakfast burritos from the staff did not disappoint. Very clean inside. The food was a great portion and the flavor was even more amazing. Highly recommend and will return. Parking can be tight in this area, expect to walk a little bit, but it's free.

A small old mom and pop ambiance inside. Service was excellent! My party and I were well attended to. General consensus of the food was that it was okay. Steak was a little tough. Sandwich was a little dry and needed something to add brightness to it. The tortilla chips of the chilaquiles didn't have a proper crunch to them. Overall, would not go back.

We love this place the ambiance is great feels like an old school diner feel. In the heat of Eagle Rock my town in LA. We are always happy to see one of the best waitresses around. My husband love the food it was very flavorful and with an every bite he had meat with his eggs. The avocado gave it an extra yum! I had the. Verde Machaca Chilaquiles with over easy eggs with Crema and queso fresco. It was so good everybody in the cafe was asking what my order was and were very impressed how good it looked. it taste as good as it looks. The chili Verde were very delicious, crispy not soggy not crunchy it was just perfect. if you love, Chilaquiles is something you have to order at least once and I'm sure you will order it again and again when you go back all the other food is really good, but this has to be my favorite just so far.

This is one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. I have yet to try something that I didn't like. The home made salsa is amazing

We were super excited to try this new spot. We were seated in the back, which we didn't mind at all. However, when our food arrived, we noticed that the AC unit in that area was leaking. As the server carried plates through the back, water from the AC was dripping onto them. We immediately stoped eating PAID and left. We hope the issue can be addressed.

The food was delicious, truly the best chilaquiles i've had so far! The service was okay but it was only one person so it's okay. I did enjoy the fact they had national parks on their wall, it's a cute place and they have outside as well! Definitely a must breakfast place

    Eggs and Pork Chops Combo

I seen a foodie post a review of this restaurant on IG so I decided to bring my son and mom here for brunch. I would definitely arrive as early as possible because parking is limited on the street and we waited about an hour to be seated. Thankfully the restaurant provides complimentary water and coffee while you wait so I definitely appreciate that! The host also provided menus before were seated so we could get ahead of the ordering process which I also appreciated. Once we were seated, our drink orders were taken immediately and we placed our order fairly quickly. The service was absolutely phenomenal, our waiter and the host were super friendly and made sure our experience was amazing. I ordered the Egg combo with Applewood Chicken sausage which came with hash browns and sourdough toast. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage had great flavor and the hash browns were perfectly cooked. My son ordered the Pan San which came with 3 huge pancakes topped with strawberries, eggs and hash browns. He absolutely devoured his meal with my help! My mother ordered the grilled Pork Chops which came with hash browns, eggs and toast. She was very satisfied with her combo. I saw they offered fresh baked muffins and I had to try a blueberry muffin and I definitely didn't regret it! The muffin was super moist and the ends had the perfect crisp, definitely one of the best muffins I've had in a long time. The waiter brought it before our meals and he added a lit candle for a sweet touch. Definitely order the muffins! I HIGHLY recommend checking this restaurant out, you will not be disappointed.

Great portion of food. Enough for two meals. Marketplace connected to the resturant. 3 doors to come in which all leads you to the restaurant.

Check that box off here. Very clean. So far so good. Menu was a tad limited. Not a lot of choices. Waitress suggested a secret menu item " The Patty Melt" Wife requested it be cooked medium. Me, I ordered Medium rare. Patty Melts showed up. Well, Well, Well done. Patty melt had onions and special sauce. Was a surprise to me. You would think that with a limited menu the cook would be really good at making a hamburger. And yes I certainly could have done a better job. Was a cook at a high volume restaurant for years and neither of these burgers would have gone out of our kitchen. Had actual pride in what we put out. Very disappointing visit. The 101 was pretty good. Clark Street not so much. Won't be returning here. Overpriced, Overcooked and just plain old disappointing. BTW- It was not busy at all. This was my experience on our visit. You can go to a run down old diner in any city, but this is the city of the stars. On this trip even though we were already heading to the establishment it must have been an extra slow day because someone was out on the boulevard trying to direct traffic to the restaurant. About 1/3 of the tables were full when we walked in, and it took a few minutes for us to be seen and seated. The wait staff is perhaps a bit understaffed to really be at their best. Our server did not explain much to us as far as the jukebox at our table, if we could use it and how... it would have been nice to know that. I ordered a Caesar salad and a coffee milkshake. When the server asked me if I wanted a small or large salad I asked what the difference in size was, since it wasn't explained on the menu to which they just kind of shrugged at me. Regardless of the perhaps lackluster service I really loved my food, the true, lived in vintage aesthetic and overall experience. Is 10.25 perhaps a bit expensive for a milkshake, i'd say so....but considering the overpriced reality of any trip to Hollywood I think it's something I would not regret spending my money on. Even though I can see why someone would rate this spot a 3, I simply cannot let my own rating fall below a 5 because I know the next time I'm in town it will be looming in my mind as the ideal place to feed my belly and nostalgic heart.

The portions are huge, the place is cute as all get out, and there's almost always seating. They have options for literally every dietary need, for an LA affordable price and quick service. Everyone is so kind and you can tell the place runs like the staple it is. The only downside is sides: there's only paid or street parking which gets crazy for Los Feliz. And I don't believe the bathroom would be accessible for a wheelchair user due to a narrow door. While it doesn't personally affect me, I could see it being an issue for anyone not in a compact chair or able to transfer/walk a few steps.
