I just picked up my boy from the airport from Maui, thank gawd he made it home in one piece, just horrible of what happened. Prayers for the island of Maui. I knew my boy would be hungry and Denny"s was our only option. Amazingly the food was delicious and what made it more spectacular was our server Glenda. She was the only server for her section. She was taking care over 8 tables and she provided AWESOME service. I didn't have to ask for coffee, water, etc, etc. Glenda took the stress away of taking care of my family for our evening meal. Decent place to eat, totally affordable. We were given the regular menu, but they also have a $2, $4, $6, $8 Value Menu (which I had to ask for). I LOVE pancakes so I had to get them. I got the Salted Caramel & Banana Cream Pancake Breakfast, which comes with: (recited from the menu) Buttermilk pancakes cooked with shortbread pieces and topped with vanilla cream (thought it said ice cream. Lol), bananas, more shortbread pieces and salted caramel (yum!). Served with eggs, hash browns, plus bacon strips or sausage links. All of that for $12.99...Ummmm wow! They didn't have bananas so I asked for strawberries instead, which matched with it. It was like eating strawberry shortcake! Sooo delicious, I couldn't stop eating it (#love). For $4 we got the (New!) Wings and Rings: Four all-white-meat Boneless Chicken Wings tossed in Buffalo sauce, plus Beer-Battered Onion Rings and a side of dipping sauce (only choice is ranch...?). What a deal! Then my bf got the (New!) Cowboy Chopped Steak for $8.99! His meal included: 100% beef chopped steak topped with Swiss cheese, fire-roasted bell peppers & onions and BBQ sauce. Served with your choice of two sides. We got the mashed potatoes and fries (to go with the hash browns. Lol. #potato overload). The beef chopped steak was meh, but everything else was okay. I'm going to try to make this short and simple. Ordered for takeout at 6am for breakfast, one of my orders was cheese and bacon tater tots. I come in and they say "we didn't have so we gave you fries". I say politely "is it okay if I get hash brown instead?" Because who eats French fries with their breakfast? Hostess goes to the back and I hear a lady yelling "ARE YOU SERIOUS? THEY DONT WANT THE FRIES??? THEY PAID EXTRA 99CENTS I GAVE THEM FRIES THEY REALLY DONT WANT IT????" Lady comes back out and says "so... we gave you fries cause you paid extra for the tater tots you really don't want the fries?". I say no can I just please have hashbrowns. I was purposely holding in my anger because I didn't want them to do anything bad to my food. Lady goes back to the back and again I hear yelling "are you serious right now?????" Mind you they had my number. They could have called to let me know they didn't have tater tots. I didn't care I don't expect 5 star service at Denny's. Until I came home and saw all my sausages were cold and raw on the inside. Thanks. Glad I didn't eat it and get food poisoning like a few of these other reviewers. read more

Celebrating my sisters birthday with some breakfast at Denny's! We were served by Tasha & she was the best! Suuuuper nice & accommodating. Quick service & catered to everything we needed. Inside was nice & clean. Open 24hrs. Failed & didn't get any pics but all the food was great. We ordered hush puppies, cinnamon roll pancakes, Philly steak omelette & country fried steak. I'm not a Denny's person but sometimes it's nice to sit and be served for nostalgia sake. The corner booths are the best. I know servers are trying their best but it's slow so I have to be ready to slow our role. I had the egg whites, turkey bacon and fruit bowl - none of this is what Denny's is known for and definitely not what I'd write home about. We came to eat here after the hurricane. It was a little busy as people were hunkered down for 48 hours before, but we only waited about 12 mins which wasn't bad at all. It is a good spot for a quick brunch if you're hungry. They all work really hard to turn big groups quickly there. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Country Fried Steak with gravy, the Eggs in a Basket, the pancakes and French toast were all good. I would recommend ordering from the Value Menu for &2,$4,$6,$8 meal deals. Went to register. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted by hostess. She had been busy talking story to other customers. Finally came. Said it would be 20-30 minutes to be seated. I looked left and saw 10 open tables. Looked right and saw 10 open tables. Was surrounded by people waiting. I might have looked back at her like she was crazy. - The Pandemic has created many shortages of staffing and restrictions played a big role in customer service, but I will give credit where its due. The waiters, waitresses, managers and cooks at this Dennys have been nothing less then phenomenal at providing service with what staffing they have. Sometimes we are easy to comment and pick on the waitress, waiter and staff, not realizing or thinking about the fact that at least they came to work and are trying to give you their best with what they were given to work with it. Went to Denny's March 1, 2020 at around 8pm or so I ate some nachos, Eggs over my hammy and a skillet. Nothing unusual, service was good, everything tasted as it should but boy was I not ready for what came after. Went home and about an hour or two after, I threw up twice, felt like passing out, went to the ER and found out I had FOOD POISONING!! I had to take a whole bag IV and Ondansetron which is for nausea. Only other thing I had that day was beef stew which ten others had and nothing. Not to sure if food at Denny's wasn't kept to temperature or what but just know that I wouldn't want to wish this on anybody. Young hostess; was told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes or faster because just waiting for bussers to clean the tables. Got seated about 30 minutes later. Waitress came to take our food and drink order 10 minutes later. Waitress was friendly and looks like only one working in our half of the restaurant. I ordered the 55+ omelette with hash browns and wheat toast; husband ordered 2 slices (4 pieces) french toast with no powdered sugar and coffee with cream and splenda. 30 minutes later, food finally came out but no coffee or water refill . Waitress came later to ask if needed refill (guess not server's job?). Our waitress gave us the best deal available for our meal (upgraded my 55+ meal to french toast and did side order toast). Made a mobile order at 9:28am (short stack pancakes, and biscuits and gravy) and the ready time in the email sent to me was 9:43am. I get to Dennys at 9:45am, they don't have the "on demand" parking stalls like stated in the email, I call for my curbside order, the nice lady puts me on hold for 3 minutes then comes back to say they still have to make my pancakes. Your typical late night diner you go to after late night events. It's good for groups when you're hungry past midnight but be prepared to wait for a table. They brought back the value menu which is a nice touch and always have a large selection of menu items. Being the menu is very visual pictures, it's hard to make a selection when everything looks good. This Denny's is located in Kapolei Commons right across from Vitamin Shoppe. Most of the items can be ordered ala carte or as a combo which the side of eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage or bacon. I ordered the tres leche pancake combo and a single berry vanilla crepe. The crepe was my favorite and I wish I just chose the crepe breakfast instead. The tres leche pancakes were good but I wish it came with fruit or another type of topping as it was basically a cinnamon pancake with a milk syrup. The cinnamon roll pancakes may have been a better choice because it comes with a crumb topping. Food always seems to take a little while but I'm not sure if it has to do with how crowded the restaurant is or how many tables each waiter has to cover. read more

First off I wanna say this Denny's is sketchy we call to place a takeout order they answer start off with the basic of taking a order first/last name and then tell us go ahead and order then say sorry we can except phone order you will need to come in person place a order. then we get there 5mins later after we hang up we stand around waiting to be helped for like 10/15mins we place our order we get a skillet/burger meal and I ordered onion rings with my burger she sales me season fries knowing there more expensive so she just up sales me on her own and they don't give me my receipt after we pay because she put in on take out bag so they know our order and then give us our food without the receipt I get to the car and check my order seen that I had season fries instead of my onion rings I go back inside then make me wait another 5/10mins and didn't even compensate me like with nothing just a sorry so shame disappointed in this place read more

My friends and I have been eating here for awhile and the experience is usually always decent, but today's dine-in experience was especially great and we owe it all to our lovely waitress, Chrys! There were 8 of us, and Chrys was always checking in with everyone in our group to make sure we were doing okay and had everything we needed. We expressed an interest in the shakes and she didn't hesitate to share with us ways to customize a shake, which in all our years of going to Denny's, we had no idea you could do. I ordered a Twix shake and my friends ordered a Snickerdoodle, PB&J, and Snickers -- all of which were only 1 or 2 dollars over the regular shake price, and it was well worth it (I'm not sure tho if this is only something you can order through Chrys or not). Overall, extremely grateful to have had such a charismatic and mindful waitress the whole night! read more

what has gone so wrong with this place? last night I went there around 9 - the place was only about 20% full. we waited about 30 minutes then was told we were next. this same individual then took care of two customers who were waiting to pay and then went outside asking a party of 8 to come in. So having been to all locations of Dennys on Oahu the service at the Kapolei commons location was phenominal. Specifically want to shoutout a specific team member gavin. He made the experience unlike the poor experiences i have had at the other locations and having lived on Oahu for 3 years he made this dennys experience a memorable one. Cheapest Place for Breakfast! Location/Parking: The restaurant is located at the Kapolei Commons Shopping Center. There is parking in the front and the side of the restaurant. Food: I normally try different things from the menu. My most recent visit, I tried the strawberry and cream pancakes with white chocolate chips! It was delicious. You only needed a small amount of syrup for the pancakes. It also included two eggs, hash brown and either sausage links or bacon. Price: The portion sizes are great for the price! My husband and I spend around $25. Service: The service was good. We waited 10 minutes to get seated on an early Sunday morning of Father's Day. We didn't wait very long for our food. My fav Denny's location! This Denny's is located in the Kapolei Commons shopping center; conveniently located right of H-1 and in the heart of a bustling shopping area. I love that even if this location is busy (mostly around weekend brunch times), the staff does their best to keep things moving. The staff here are very friendly and always give service with a smile! I'm always on the look-out for keto or paleo meals (anything higher in protein and lower in carb), and I love that this location offers that! They even have avocado slices on the side for those needing an extra healthy fat bomb! Recently I tried their new pot roast platter (I went with the lower carb option of broccoli and squash). It was very tasty and tender and was also a nice change from my typical eggs+meat fare. Will definitely have this again! Also, parking is pretty plentiful at this location, and even if the restaurant lot is full, the Kapolei Commons area at large has plenty of parking. I love coming over here especially after a Saturday movie matinee. We just walk right over from the theater. So convenient! read more
