Been a long time customer at Denny's, and my recent visit is another reason of why I'll keep coming back! Gavin was our waiter, best waiter ever! He was really on top with his customer service. We were seated in less than 5 minutes, put in our order as soon as we sat down, and the food came out in the next 5-10 minutes. Food was so delicious, nice & hot. Breakfast on a Saturday morning. Wait time for seating less than 10 minutes. Like most restaurants today, it's under staffed and so wait times are a little longer, but not excessively so. Our server (Natasha) was serving lots of tables and cashiering, but her service was still excellent. Dennys was refurbished a year or so ago and the interior is very modern, minimalist, and super clean, complete with a Kapolei neon sign, how cool is that. What makes Dennys special is the ability to build your own breakfast, cuz the bfast menu is extensive. I got the French Toast Slam ($17.99) that comes with three slices of Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast, two scrambled eggs, two link sausage and two bacon. It was very good. Wife got the Cinnamon Pancakes ($16.39) with Eggs Over Easy, bacon and seasonal fruit ($1.39). All was ver satisfying. Highly recommend Dennys for their breakfast. read more

It took almost 5 mins to get our name on the list because no host/hostess was available. The restaurant looked half full, so we assumed they were understaffed. We were told it was about a 20 minute wait and were called about 15 mins later. Once seated it took over 10 mins for the waitress to greet us, we could see she was busy. After ordering; coffee served was luke warm and had to wait for refill (which also was tepid at best.) It took almost an hour to get out breakfast, my scrambled eggs & hash browns were cold. Flagged the server down (she was extremely busy) and she reheated my entree. Pancakes were cold & burned. Worst experience I have ever had at a Denny's. Clearly a poorly managed restaurant, not up to Denny's standards. Don't waste your time or money at this restaurant. read more

Went here yesterday to take advantage of a birthday deal. Initially it started a little off as they had a sign on the door that said they only had scrambled eggs; limited menu. But I saw that there were still a lot of people inside. I asked several people who just ate there what's happening and they mentioned that they only had one cook and that they ran out of fresh eggs, but only had powdered eggs (similar to the eggs that are served at small hotel breakfast buffets), which I didn't mind so we went in anyway. All in all, we still had a great breakfast. Service was great. The staff were very attentive and very upbeat. The food was still good. We both ordered their Everyday Value Slam (mine was birthday free) which included a choice of pancakes or French toast, a choice of meat, & scrambled eggs. Also got a side of crispy hash browns that we shared, plus coffee. Aside from the eggs issue (which were still good with ketchup), the bacon and sausages were good and surprisingly the pancakes (fluffy & moist) and the French toast were great. My favorite Denny's on the entire earth! As you notice from all the photos uploaded, we go to this particular Denny's for breakfast quite a bit. Service is always nice, my favorite berry vanilla crepe is always on point and so far has been available each time, keeping my fingers crossed xx. Mister likes the steak breakfast, must be good because it's his favorite breakfast dish to order, he has tried other dishes (eggs bene, omelette), but wasn't as pleased as with the steak. If you go on the weekends, and want to beat the early crowd, go early. Plenty of near by parking. read more

Came to Denny's Kapolei for brunch and it was definitely busy due to being short-staffed, so expect a wait. It took about 5 minutes to get on the waitlist, 15 minutes to be seated, and some additional time to order and receive our food. That said, our server Gavin was great! Even while managing multiple tables, he checked on us, refilled drinks, brought napkins, got our takeout container, and was our cashier too Food was good, and it was nice to see other families being understanding and supportive of the staff as well. When you walk in to Denny's in Kapolei you're first blown away by how beautiful and clean the store is. The remodel has definitely given the store a brighter and friendlier atmosphere everyone will love. All the employees are friendly and you feel at home when you eat out here. Wait time for food may be a little long but it is definitely worth it for the mouthwatering flavors that hit you with every bite. I get the Cali club or a rotation of the breakfast offerings and it never disappoints. Don't even get me started on presentation! I eat with my eyes every time and have the pictures to prove it. Update on this location... The food, service and Ambiance experience has made some improvements. We patronize this location every 4-6 weeks. The food was decent, but the hiring manager should really hire more staff. There were only 2 servers for breakfast on a holiday morning. My waitress was really friendly and tried her best, but due to the lack of staff we waited 25 mins to place our drink order then it was another 15 to receive our waters. Also it's always freezing cold. Breakfast should provide a warm greeting and comfortable environment with hot coffee flowing. Here I couldn't wait to get breakfast over with. Maybe that's what they want idk. I like the new upgrades interior wise, but let's get some more staff to make it better. read more

Okay Kapolei Denny's, here's the real scoop - my fam and I popped in to check out your freshly renovated digs (which look great, by the way - super clean and welcoming). We were greeted and seated right away and our potential server Karma was amazing - super sweet and doing her best to hold it down during what was clearly a rough night. So the good: place is shiny clean , we got our water and Karma is a gem . Now for the "wait, what?" part. We got there with no line and thought, yes, perfect timing! But once seated... crickets. No notice of delays, no orders taken, just us and our water. Fifteen minutes later we're still sipping water and wondering if we're invisible. We actually had to call Karma over just to ask if we could order..... and that's when we were told the kitchen was so backed up, they couldn't take orders yet. Meanwhile, two managers - one very noticeable in a bright orange shirt - were literally standing around chatting, while their team struggled and the kitchen fell behind. Leadership 101: when your crew is buried, you roll up your sleeves and jump in. You don't stand around seeing how long you can hold off seating people or delay orders. That's just not it, Denny's! Sadly, we gave up and left before even ordering any food. So we got water... and that's about it. Stars for Karma's attitude and the sparkling remodel. But please, Denny's Kapolei management - be the leaders your hardworking crew needs. We'd love to come back and actually eat next time! Terrible customer service and manager is even worse! We signed up for the rewards to get the free dessert and when we went to pay they said we could only use 1 reward not 2 even tho no one told us that and the server watched us order two cheesecakes on one bill with ZERO warning. And it wasn't even busy at all on a Saturday night. I tried to order a milkshake they said NO ICECREAM. Ordered a slam-burger NO CHEESE, it came with cheese. I reminded the server she took the burger back and just took the cheese off which was stuck to the egg so half the egg went with it and came back 2 minutes later, I told them to just remove the burger from the bill the way they removed the cheese from the burger. Everything was cold and we didn't get any silverware so I had to go and grab my own from behind the hostess table. This place sucks and they will get your order wrong and not be happy to fix it. It's been a minute since we last came to Dennys so it was very refreshing to see the new changes in the menu and renovations. The restaurant was super busy and service was a bit slow. It's totally understandable because it was Mother's Day and they did their best to take care of all parties with grace. When I finally got my food everything was cold, I ordered scrambled eggs and my eggs were watery, my chocolate pancakes were burnt, my hash browns were burnt, my crapes were hard , it didn't have any vanilla cream filling in it and the strawberries were sour. I've eaten at Denny's many times before and this time the food was the worse. I spent over $50 and I barely ate anything and threw eveything away. read more

I haven't been here in a long long time. This is usually not a place I would've picked because in the past I have had a horrible experience here multiple times. Today's visit I forgot to take some photos. I just wanted to say how awesome the staff was. Our waiters name was Donovan, he was taking care of the whole section and let me say, the service was great! He made his rounds to every table and made sure everyone was good. When I say this man did great, he really did. You can tell he takes pride in his job and I appreciate that. The food came out very quickly as well, thank you to the kitchen staff for getting the food out quickly and it being delicious and still warm! Overall, due to the staff and the cleanliness, we definitely will be coming back more frequently. The price was also great, so much cheaper compared to IHOP and the food is still tasty. The host and waitress was nice, place was clean. Waited over an hour for our food. Portions were smaller than normal size they use to serve. My burger had some burnt food from an other order. It was black and hard, in my burger, sauté vegetables were over cooked,, and I had 7 pieces of fries. They use to give 4 pieces of toast with the grand slam, now they give one toast and cut it half. Ordered medium well for the steak, it was medium rare. The list can go on and on. The cook drop 3 dishes in a row and it broke. Such a disappointment. The only thing good was our waitress. The food really lacked. I got 4 onion rings but I paid for the up charge from fries. The lettuce in my sandwich was completely wilted my husband's mile high Denver omelette was incredibly lacking. It was made with only American cheese, no cheddar cheese and he had maybe two spoonfuls of hash browns. The cooks and the weight staff were on the side of the restaurant blasting their music. Walking in on a rainy Saturday afternoon we were just expecting a hot cup of coffee and maybe pancakes. The Fountain drinks were not available so we did end up altering our orders with no big dilemma considering the large selection available. It did appear to be short staffed at first sight but this doesn't bother us at all because the service and location is always worth any delay that occurs. You will most likely run into old classmates or family members when dinning and it makes for a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Staff was amazing, attentive and pleasant from the manager to the kitchen, the true star of course was our Server Gavin, a true Rockstar. There were order status updates on the wide, check-ins and just a general sense of care and pride with how service was given, regardless of how many booths were filled and how many people arrived, Gavin and the Staff remained upbeat and cheerful nonetheless. We ordered hamburgers with fries and the fries look like it was cooked in old grease. We asked our waitress and she said they were cooked in old grease and they had to wait until the oil man came to empty their oil. 08.11.25. 1st time eating here as my wonderful wife and I were in the area just checking out what's new in Kapolei. We live Mililani. -- Upon entering, we was greeted and taken care of right away. The atmosphere and "vibe" was warm and welcoming. All the staff that we came across were courteous and friendly. Came in around 4:15pm and there was 8 other tables with family's. Our Server, didn't get her name but she checked on us quite frequently and filled our water's. My wife had initially wanted the Bacon Avocado Burger. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger for $2 more along with added mushrooms. I "should've" just ordered the regular size Cheeseburger. This thing was HUGE lol -- Surprisingly, this was "Hands-Down" DA BEST CHEESEBURGER I ever had at ANY OTHER DENNY'S ON ISLAND, "including" the mainland!!! Just even writing this review and my mouth is watering LMAO -- Both Beef patties were WELL-SEASONED and COOKED TO PERFECTION!!!!! That slightly sweet and pillow-soft Brioche bun. AWWW... I close my eyes. Succulent, thick, juicy, not greasy, Nom, Nom, Nom, I stay drooling right now lol - I mean, on the first bite.
