My husband and I are both in the f&b industry, so we don't finish work until at least around midnight. Majority of late night/24-hr dine in restaurants are still closed due to COVID. We really appreciated finding somewhere open that we could sit down and be served. Most of our coworkers have been relying on fast food drive thru's these days. Finding a place open is one thing, but then to receive 5-star service is icing on the cake!! Our server Chrys is extremely personable with her delicious, creative milkshakes and has such a charismatic personality. With all her energy, you would never think she was coming from another job, working a DBL!! Because we are in the industry ourselves, we truly appreciate receiving such top notch customer service. So far, we've been dining there once a week for the past couple weeks and plan to keep it a weekly thing. We also appreciate the consistency of the food as well. OMG, the service here is soo slow! Waited for our food when food came to the table we had NO UTENSILS! Waited another 10 MINUTES for the server to bring us our utensils plus she didn't refill our drinks well we were there. Upon finishing our meals we had to wait another 15-20 MINUTES for the server to bring our check so we could leave this nightmare of a place (KAPOLEI LOCATION)! Then my super bird was suppose to come with seasoned fries which I didn't get either got a apology and offered dessert to go for the mix up that happened which we declined... Ok, so since my original review, I have returned countless times to this Denny's location, and the staff here is just so friendly and attentive! They call my hubby and I "auntie" and "uncle" and treat us very well. The service has really improved, and I love to come here. There's plenty of food options to choose from and I'm satisfied with it. The staff is always friendly and there usually is never a wait. The staff sucks! We waited for over 10 min to be seated while the place was half empty and nobody in front of us. If any of you reading this get's a fat waiter when the name Cheyne (Pronounced Shane), just walk out. 9:40: Got seated 9:50: Older nice lady takes order. I ordered T-bone steak medium rare. 10:10: Other people on my table starts to get their order. 10:25: Everyone has their order. 10:35: Asked another waiter to check on my steak. 10:45: No water refilled ever since we got there. 10:50: Steak FINALLY comes but is REALLY rare. Normally both my husband and I don't go to Denny's. However, this time we came here with a big group of friends as it was our way of celebrating New Years Eve. We were lucky enough to arrive before the crowd came along, and it certainly didn't take long to be seated. Upon sitting we were given the menu right away. Our server came to the table in time to at least take our orders for drinks. Many of us didn't know what to exactly eat. Another factor was money that played along. For me, I wanted pancakes but at the same time the ones I saw didn't seem to please me. All the burgers had bacon in them in which I'm not fond of bacon. Sadly I ended up picking whichever sound pleasing regardless as I didn't want everyone to be waiting on me just because I was indecisive. So I ended up getting the Bacon Gouda Burger with a side of hash browns. I did give much of my bacon to my husband that way I wasn't stuck with so much of it. Gouda was a nice touch to it. My hash browns was cook to perfection. Pros: 1. Felt rushed 2. One of the people from the kitchen came to our tables asking in regards to the Strawberry Lemonades. Apparently they were watered down and wasn't refilled until now. Ummm why not have fixed it before serving it??? My husband and one of our friends who had ordered it didn't think there was anything wrong with their 1st drinks until they tried the new ones. 1st ones were mellow, whereas, the 2nd ones were sour from the lemonade. Huge difference. At least they gave them to us freely and apologized for the slight inconvenience. 3. Why not have already made separate checks in the first place rather than us coming to the register and telling them who ordered what??? These are minor things but still notable. I was a bit impressed though that regardless of how it became busy so suddenly that they did their very best to maintain composure especially at such an early hour of the day/late hour of the night. Very deceptive with ordering things how you want. Got charged an extra 10 bucks because something was slightly different than the menu.

We love Dennys. We love their chicken fried steak and burgers. What we don't love is our server making everything awkward. About a year ago we tried this Denny's and had high hopes as we were seated quickly. Then they came crashing down when our older caucasian waitress, Lisa came over. She starts off with a giant eyeroll and says 'does anyone else around here work besides me?' Then as she's taking our order some kids were making noise at another table and she rolled her eyes and said 'thank god my shifts almost over'. Then she came back with our food and the same kids were being noisy she said 'I can't wait to go home and have a cocktail!'. Understandable, kinda funny, but not appropriate conversation with your patrons...made us feel awkward. My husband says after 'I don't want to come here anymore.' Fast forward to over a year later, we're in Kapolei on date night and it's my turn to pick. I say 'pleeeassse can we go to Denny's'. He says 'okay, maybe that waitress is gone by now'. We walk in and THERE she is at the register ringing someone up, rolling her eyes. Then I see her staring first at me then my husband for an awkwardly long time as she's ringing people up. 'Am I the only one working?' she says. A guy comes and seats us way at the back cause we see a male waiter working that section and ask to be seated there in his section, not wanting Lisa...but guess who we get? We see her walk over and my husband mumbles 'great'. We are sitting on the same side of the table next to eachother and she walks right up to him, literally 2 feet from his face and says 'booyy you have beautiful eyes!' I know he is irritated and I giggle a little and she says 'what? You do!' and leans in even closer-yikes (eyes locked to his the entire time), then says, still staring, eyes locked, standing too close, hand on hip 'no one ever told you that honey?' He looks at her and says 'Yah, my wife.' Then she snaps out of her cra cra trance and finally takes our order. As soon as she walks away I'm laughing, and my husband wants to leave. 'Lets get the F out of here. I don't need granny molesting me before dinner. Gross.' I plead with him to stay cause we're starving, so we do. She seems to sense his irritability and keeps her distance except to bring us our food and refills. We won't be back to this location. read more

3 Stars is only because our Waitress is a doll. I came to this location for dinner with my siblings. The food was great but we waited over 45min for our food and on top of that we watched as 3 other tables were seated after us but were all served before us. Our appetizer came with our main meals and all meals were served together, some being hotter than others. The wait to get in took over an hour which I do not mind much, but the service from our server was terrible she had such a rude attitude and she brings our drinks with no straws then asks us if we want starters to begin only to bring our starters out with our other meals the worst part is she bought our food out but did not give us any utensils to eat with took 5 minutes after our food came out for us to find someone to get us utensils! Great Breakfast! I had the French toast slam. And coffee. Waitress was awesome. Food came quickly and no issues.

The only reason for the 3 stars is because every time I come in the bathrooms are very dirty and mold on the toilets.

I went there on Tuesday 8/8/17 with my grandson, a six year old! I had never been there before but my grandson asked to eat there. He ordered eggs, rice, bacon, his eggs sunny side up. I was told I had to order the EGGS from the adult menu...why????? He had way too much food and could not eat it all. He wanted a shake before we left. I ordered that as well. To my SHOCK, I was charged $10.79 for a "child's" lunch AND I was charged $4.79 for the milkshake....highway robbery!!!! I was also told by another customer that on Tuesdays, children eat free! He not only did NOT get a free meal, he had to pay for an adult meal. Watch your back at this place. They cheat people! What a mess. Wow. What slow and confused service. There was an argument between staff at the hostess desk. No one knew who was next on the sheet full of names all over the place. Once we got a table the service was slow and grumpy. It was like it was the first time they did this. Sad slow sucky service. Good was just ok once you get it. 02/03/2018 Came in for lunch with my grandma & it was packed! Good thing we had an AWESOME waiter (2nd time ever) I think her name was Luleiga (Nice Samoan lady) usually we have a waiter that gives an impression that they hate their job but not her, she was ON IT! We were seated @12:50 she came to our table at 12:55 & next thing we knew it we had our food in 10minutes. Plus she had moved us from the middle table/booth to a full booth so my grandma was very happy! (She's uncomfortable with people seeing her eat) our server didn't even know my grandma wasn't happy with our seat, so that was awesome. That was the fastest service we had ever got from this Denny's. And she was not only quick for our table but all her tables she was serving. Service here is so horrible. Especially at night. My friends and I went to Denny's after a fun night bowling. There 3 workers working. A waitress, a cook and the dishwasher. Before we entered the restaurant I already can see how salty the waitress is. Didn't even greet us properly. We weren't all seated and don't even get an option to pick out a drink. Waitress with an attitude decided we should all have water. Took our order and she seemed like she didn't wanna be working. I am from Mainland U.S. I used to lived in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. I've been to many Denny's Restaurant in the Mainland U.S. from my old hometown in Van Nuys to even Las Vegas Nevada. Unfortunately, many Mainland U.S. Denny's Restaurant are either mediocre or they're not too good. The only acceptable Denny's Restaurant (which I rank a 3.5 star average) would be the Denny's of Van Nuys (located at intersection of Sherman Way & Havenhurst) & the one at Reseda (somewhere in Reseda Boulevard); but those 2 are mediocre to my opinion. However, since I moved to Oahu to help my son pursue his professional school life at UHM, my husband, my son & I one day stopped by your restaurant during our exploration of Oahu. & after eating at your restaurant, I have to say this: Denny's Restaurant of Kapolei: THIS IS THE BEST DENNY'S RESTAURANT I'VE EVER ATE. YOU GUYS TASTED 10 TIMES BETTER THAN MAINLAND U.S. DENNY'S!!!! This is how Denny's Restaurant supposed to be. This is what I like: 1. Restaurant environment. Dining area is clean. Outside of restaurant is clean & neat & welcoming. 2. Service. Immediate take in to your seat. Quick service. They are accurate too. They make sure your orders are available immediately & they bring out the food at perfect timing too. 3. Food. Now for the food, I liked most are: (1) your steaks. Partiuclarly your new Top Sirloin steak & your classic T-bone steak; nicely cook upon my request, well-tenderized meat & well marinated; nicely done. (2) I like your burgers, especially your Mushroom Swiss Burger & your Double Cheeseburger; they are good enough to compete with "Teddy's Bigger Better Bugers Restaurant" anyday ha ha ha; for the burgers, I like the burger size: they're gigantic!!! That is how good burgers is supposed to be. (3) I like your soups particularly your chouders like Clam Chouder Fridays, Potato Chouder Wednesdays, and Brocoli Cheddar Soup weekends. Horrible. Horrible expirience. I was greeted at the door by a server who wasnt even smiling. She looked as if we were a nuisance to her day and led us to a table that didnt even add up to the number of peiple we have. Her name is Ashley, by the way. Not even to mention our behemoth in distress, Rosie. She wouldnt recommend what was more filling. Her advice was as useful as a whale out of water. It's sad that the Pearlridge Denny's closed down in the last few years--that was the closest location to me--but if my family is out in the Kapolei area, we usually make a stop at this Denny's restaurant for breakfast (since it's one of the few locations left!). The eatery is never super busy when we've gone, and our meals have always come without an extremely long wait. There always seems to be new items on the menu whenever I visit Denny's, since I don't go very often and my visits are usually far and few between, but here's what I would recommend: "Red Velvet Pancake Puppies": I've had these pancake puppies before when they were part of the limited-edited "Hobbit" themed menu, but I'm glad to see that Denny's made this sweet treat part of the regular menu. It features six bite-sized round Red Velvet Pancake Puppies made with white chocolate chips, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with a side of cream cheese icing. I liked the soft, moist consistency of the pancake puppies (like hush puppies but with pancake batter), and though I normally don't care for white chocolate chips, they worked for this dish. I only used a little bit of the cream cheese icing for dipping, since I normally eat my pancakes plain. However, any red velvet treat isn't complete without that luscious cream cheese frosting! This serves as a good snack or dessert; when I got it for breakfast, I wasn't completely full since the individual puppies are pretty small in size. "Build Your Own Grand Slam": This is one of my breakfast favorites on the Denny's menu ... and with every trip, I usually order something breakfast-like since that's my favorite meal of the day. You can choose any four items from an extensive list and create your own sampler platter. I usually go for four of the following: bacon strips (2), hash browns, sausage links (2), buttermilk biscuit, buttermilk pancakes (2) or English muffin. I usually try to get a good mixture of both starch and protein when ordering this meal ... even though pancakes are my go-to! "The Grand Slamwich": I haven't ordered this breakfast sandwich yet, but since I like the "Build Your Own Grand Slam," I'm sure it'd make for a good breakfast. It features two scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, crispy bacon, shaved ham and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread. I already like this sandwich based on the description alone because it features crispy bacon and sausage (I have a hard time choosing between my two favorite breakfast meats), as well as grilled potato bread. The side of crispy hash browns that comes with this sandwich rounds out the meal. Definitely a good choice if I'm in the mood for something savory. "Moons Over My Hammy": This sandwich always appealed to me because I've always preferred hot ham-and-cheese sandwiches over cold ham-and-cheese sandwiches. This version features a ham and scrambled egg sandwich with Swiss and American cheeses on grilled sourdough. The savory sandwich comes served with hash browns. One of my friends ordered this sandwich before and said it was yummy, so I definitely want to get my own one day. "Peanut Butter Cup Pancake Breakfast": This is one of the newer items on the Denny's menu, and as a lover all ALL things peanut butter and chocolate, it's immediately at the top of my must-try list. Besides, pancakes are usually my go-to, which makes this entrée even more appealing. It features chocolate chips and white chocolate chips inside two buttermilk pancakes, topped with hot fudge and drizzled with peanut butter sauce. I like this entrée because it contains a good mix of sweet and savory -- the pancakes are served with two eggs and hash browns, plus your choice of two strips of bacon or two sausage links and a side of warm syrup. I would probably opt for the bacon, and I hope the peanut butter sauce is creamy and rich enough in flavor to balance out the pancakes' chocolatiness. Totally looking forward to trying these one day. "Cinnamon Pancake Breakfast": This is another recent addition to the Denny's menu, and since Cinnabons are one of my favorite desserts, I look forward to trying these sweet pancakes one day. The entrée includes cinnamon sauce and cream cheese icing drizzled over two buttermilk pancakes, which are served with two eggs and hash browns, plus two strips of bacon or two sausage links and a side of warm syrup. I've tried the "Cinnastack" pancakes from IHOP before and liked them--they were super sticky but very cinnamony--so I'm intrigued to see how the Denny's version compares. I've had several AMAZING cinnamon pancakes in my lifetime, so I hope this Denny's version comes topped with a generous portion of cream cheese icing. read more

It was a busy Saturday morning I will give them that. However it took 15 minutes after being seated and me staring at our waitress to get them to take our order. I was about 2 minutes longer before we were about to leave. I wish that I did because for some reason they think to have CNN on their TVs was a good idea. We don't watch the news at home. While we are waiting 30 minutes to get our food images of dead children are flashing across the screens. Immediately I asked a busboy to change the station. After 5 minutes of no action I got up to find a manager and they shut the TV off. Our food came and they forgot one of my children's meals. Disappointment would be a understatement. I have come during the week and have had a completely different experience. My suggestion come during the week early when they can have attention to detail. I suppose the long wait has enabled me to share this experience with you and hopefully management will take this as a learning opportunity of they bother to read this. read more
