Denny's located at Beach Boulevard on Imperial is the best in the area. The service is always great. The food is always fresh and the value menu is the best. I don't know what happened to these bananas, but I genuinely think they had already retired before they made it onto my French toast. I've had ripe bananas. I've had overripe bananas. These were something entirely different. They were so rubbery and floppy that I honestly questioned whether they were bananas at all. Each slice looked like it had survived several lifetimes before landing on my plate. They had that dark, mushy, almost translucent look that makes you immediately lose your appetite. And there were only FIVE tiny slices. Five. If you're only going to give me five banana slices, I'd at least hope they'd be fresh enough to resemble fruit. Instead, they had the texture of old rubber bands and looked like they had been forgotten in the back of the kitchen for weeks. Every slice folded over itself like it had completely given up on life. I sat there staring at them wondering who looked at those bananas and thought, "Yep, these are perfect to serve to a customer." I couldn't believe they actually made it onto a plate. They were so rotten-looking that I was afraid to taste them. The French toast itself was fine, but those bananas completely ruined it. Fresh bananas should be sweet, firm, and actually yellow--not floppy, rubbery, and looking like they're one step away from becoming banana bread. Please, if the bananas look like they've reached the end of their journey, just don't serve them. I'd rather have no bananas than whatever science experiment ended up on my French toast. read more

The food here is excellent and always worth coming back for. Our server, Lupe, was fantastic--definitely a 10 out of 10. The restaurant looks clean and in order, and the manager, Miriam, keeps things looking good. The only downside is the wait time. I waited over 15 minutes to place an order, and even saw another customer leave because of the slow service. The $5.99 special menu loses its purpose when it takes that long. Hopefully management takes a closer look, because the food is outstanding, but the service speed really needs improvement. read more

The food was okay. The bacon was too crispy & the sausage was okay. My son ordered a chocolate chip pancakes with a side of sausage and Mac and cheese. My son finished his Mac and cheese like nothing. He loves the Mac and cheese from Denny's. Besides the food, my server Olivia was amazing. She provided outstanding service during my visit to Denny's. Don't put curbside pickup on the website if it's not actually an option. The first time I ordered curbside, one male employee said they don't offer it, while someone in the background said they do. And handed my order to me. I called again today, and the woman who answered was rude, said they don't do curbside, and dismissed me when I said I had used it before. My husband and kids came here to dine. They ordered the special they have and were looked down for it. When my husband asked for a drink the server was very condescending and said "and its free refills!" Like making fun of them for ordering the cheap stuff. I wanted to go dine there with them for the specials as well and went back a different day with them when we sat that server instantly stared at my husband and kids... we sat down and another lady server approached us and they didn't give us the special menu so we asked for it. Very unfortunate I have to retract my previous review for this restaurant. Today's breakfast was an EPIC fail! Fruit was given to me in a DIRTY bowl! Unfortunately I didn't notice until I had already eaten some of the fruit. UNACCEPTABLE, NASTY, GROSS!! To make matters worse, the server tried to take the bowl from me when I asked to speak to the manager. The puppy dog eyes and expressing she would get in trouble should be the LEAST of your worries! After dinner with my friends, we wanted to chat a bit more before saying goodbye, but Orange County cafes don't stay open late. Our limited options led us to Danny's. We all ordered coffee, but feeling a little guilty for just taking up a table, we added boneless Buffalo wings and an apple pie with ice cream to the order. Our server was friendly and attentive, but the food took a bit longer than expected to arrive. When it did, the quality was about what you'd expect from air-fried frozen food you could grab at a grocery store. Not great, but not terrible. Just... there. I didn't have high expectations going in, but it still felt like a letdown. I'd come back if there were no other options and I needed a place to hang out, but for the food? Probably not. So the menu pic is what I thought I was getting... the photo i took is what I got... the topping moved around like slimy snot... the apples were raw.. the pancakes weren't hot.... Did take a pic of The potatoes onions and bell peppers I got on the side. But it seemed like the peppers and onions were burnt and instead of them redoing it they scraped the pan and just thought I wouldn't notice the charred taste lol...
