My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch today, and we're so glad we did! This place is a hidden gem. We started off by ordering drinks; I ordered the Dirty Matcha (coffee + matcha), and my husband tried the Somethin' Cream Latte. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious. Next we ordered our food; I ordered the Gamberry Rose Pasta while my husband chose the Bacon Kimchi Pasta. The pasta comes with a piece of baguette on the side. Both dishes were very unique, tasty, and full of flavor. We've never tried Korean fusion pasta before, and we were blown away by how amazing these combinations were. The ingredients they added work so well together and added so many new flavors. They are also very generous with their portions, which is an added bonus. The restaurant interior was clean, spacious, and had nice modern decor. We enjoyed the ambiance while dining. It wasn't too loud, and they had music playing in the background at a comfortable listening level. The staff were very friendly, polite, and had our food served to us quickly. Went here on a Saturday for brunch and it wasn't that packed yet. We ordered our usual - truffle mushroom pasta and mussel stew. We also tried the burrata salad for the first time. The truffle mushroom pasta wasn't as good as it used to be. It still has the same creaminess but the truffle flavor is lacking. The pasta was a bit overcooked too. For the burrata salad I wish they put at least 2 burratas for a better proportion. There were a lot of grape tomatoes and arugula for only one burrata. A cute spot with good food! I personally ordered the carbonara, which I found to be very flavorful. It was very creamy, somewhat sweet, and had bits of meat in it. I would recommend trying other pastas if you want something more savory! It took a bit for them to get our orders and to receive our food as all tables were filled, and they only had one person working the floor for most of the hour before the restaurant closed. A modest cafe with okay food. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Shrimp pasta was great and was the only plate we finished. Prosciutto brie toast had too much jam which made it cloyingly sweet for us, personally. The truffle fries were confusing. Truffle was not present -- La Croix is more flavorful than these fries. Many of the fries had an inconsistent fry on them, with one side being considerable more cooked than the other. The shrimp toast sando was unbalanced. Way too much salad, and too finely chopped made it structurally difficult to eat. The shrimp flavor was anemic to begin with, and was further overpowered by the overly sweet yuzu sauce on the bread, which also made it soggy. The side tomato salad was great, and we wished this also accompanied the prosciutto toast. The setup of the furniture gives more of a cafe vibe because the tables are not consistently the same and it's an open space. However, the process of sitting down and ordering feels like a restaurant because the pasta and meals take a while to prepare and because they are full meals compared to a snack. Gets pretty loud if there are a lot of people inside. Staff was helpful in advising that the chicken needed to be mixed otherwise it would burn. Even though they have an outdoor section, it was closed on a Saturday when I was visiting. Not sure if it open on other days, but it is not dog friendly. read more

The menu drew me in, but the food left a lot to be desired. It was fairly empty at 8pm, so thankfully we were able to get a table. Pretty and quiet ambiance with moderately dim lighting. The servers were quick to get our orders, bill, and offered recommendations. Both of our pastas lacked flavor. For a savory dish, the cream sauces were very heavy in cream flavor and lacked salt, seasoning, and depth. The parmigiano cheese- any cheese really- was undetectable in both pastas. Truffle mushroom pasta was incredibly bland, while the steak cream pasta was bland with a sweet aftertaste. For a savory dish, it was really disappointing. I could not finish my pasta. The very humble-looking steak, while small, thin, and oddly not having a sear/char (not super appealing), was pleasantly tender. The garlic bread, however, was the saving grace- nicely toasted and savory. My favorite was actually the caprese salad, but that's hard to mess up. It was very much lacking in the elements of korean food as their tteobokki (which is advertised on the menu as "k-food") was simply some form of marinara sauce and the vegetable was a sad take on kimchi. Somethin has been on my list since they opened, but it's not exactly near me, so I haven't had a chance to check it out until now. The menu is extensive, and everything sounded appealing, but I ultimately landed on the kimchi bacon pasta. The pasta was an explosion of flavor, combining the complex sour, spicy, and salty notes of kimchi with a rich and creamy pasta sauce. The simmered heavy cream based sauce works to temper the acidity of the kimchi, resulting in a bold and savory sauce that pairs perfectly with pasta. Kimchi pasta is one of my favorite fusion dishes, and the cooks at Somethin definitely do it justice. I also ordered a grape crush soju cocktail. My friend had tried this place once before, so threw this out as an option for our lunch meet up. The menu along with the reviews looked good, so was excited to try this spot. When we arrived on a Monday afternoon, the place was about half full. The space isn't too big, so we did have to wait a few minutes to get seated. By the time we got seated, most of the tables were on their way out. Once we had a chance to look through the menu, we each picked a dish and since I had skimmed through some of the reviews, I knew I wanted to try the rose ddukbokki and the burratta salad. The food came out pretty fast, everything tasted pretty good, but I was least impressed by the rose ddukbokkk. I liked the chewy texture of the rice cake, but the sauce tasted like it came from a chef boyardee can. We also ordered a total of 4 drinks, which we did not get until we had to ask for them towards the end of our meal. I didn't get to try all the drinks, but my strawberry matcha latte was good. Not only were they nonchalant about forgetting our drinks, no one mentioned the fire heating up the bulddak chicken should be turned off within a few minutes -- the lack of guidance/explanation caused all the hash brown to burn. We weren't told about any hash brown being at the bottom since the dish looked like it was just half chicken and half cheese on their menu, so we only found out when we smelled something burning and dug down to find black pieces of hash brown. Haha. My friend who's been in the restaurant industry for years mentioned how their service was not good (he usually never is the one to complain about service). A cute fusion cafe! I made a reservation for 2 for a Friday at 12pm. We were able to just walk in but they did reserve the table for us! The interior was very cute and staff was very friendly! We started with ceviche and chili cheese fries as appetizers. (They were very large shareable portions!) The ceviche kinda just tasted like cooked shrimp with pico de gallo and was just ok. The chili cheese fries were a bit too sweet personally. For entrees, we got the gamberry rose pasta and the kimchi bacon pasta! I loved the pasta here and both were very yummy fusion flavors! There were very few customers during a Sunday brunch, but do not underestimate their food! Gamberry rose pasta: 5/5. My favorite out of the two dishes we ordered. I tend to like creamy pastas, but those get sickening quickly. This one is different because the spiciness cuts out the heaviness! They give HUGE pieces of shrimp as well. Located in a plaza with plenty parking. The flavor was solid.. No complaints but here's where it gets weird. The waitor/owner (?) was a little odd. He helped take our order and I guess it was really cold because he kept hiding his face in his turtle neck taking our order and fussing with his sleeves.. barely made out what he was saying but ok, fine, not our business. We ordered 2 pastas, the gambas, and a side of fries with 2 drinks between 2 people. Our food started to come out and we noticed that our fries never made it to our table. When I brought up the missing fries to the waiter/owner (?), he responded "don't you think it's enough food?" and when I responded no, he continued to ask me TWICE "do you want me to make the fries now? You sure?" I'm sorry? Never have I been asked this type of questioning regardless of how much food I ordered. This is the most unprofessional experience I've ever had at a restaurant and no matter how good their food is. Additionally, I ordered a pasta togo during the meal and asked to have it ready as my partner was waiting outside for it and he just let it sit there on the counter for a good 10 mins before I got up to ask him if that pasta was for me (we were the only ones in the restaurant) and all he said was "yes, sorry. I forgot". Again, we were the only ones in the restaurant and they were NOT busy at all. I'll never return and hopefully everyone considers the level of service before they support businesses like this. The vibe is cute and casual, it's nice for catching up or maybe a little date! They also offer cocktails and mocktails. I ordered one of their lemonades, and it was really good! Just leaned on the sweeter side. The staff members were all super sweet and accommodating! We ended up taking a lot of our food to-go, and needed more bags and boxes than originally anticipated, but they were really nice about it. They were super speedy with bringing out our appetizers, and our main entree orders came out in a similar time frame which is something that I really appreciate. Saw this place on an Instagram feed and needed to swing by and try it. If I had to describe the type of food, it would be a mixture of a Korean and French Bistro. Looks like a coffee shop but has sophisticated food. The servers were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Very nice gentlemen. The food was pretty good. My wife had the truffle fries and French toast. Both tasted fantastic. The fries were shoestring which meant extra crispy. The French toast wasn't super sweet and was nice and airy. I respect the fact that they serve the whipped cream and syrup on the side. I, myself, ordered the beef tataki salad. It was a great combination of sweet and salty as the balsamic glaze really enhanced the dish. The only issue I had was my steak was slightly over cooked. Would prefer a medium finish on salads, mine was a medium well. Drinks; I had an americano which was dark and bold in flavor but not too bitter. Very nice. My wife had the iced peach black tea. We highly recommend the rose ttekboki, it's like a creamier version of regular ttekboki with a bit of marinara flavoring (which sounds a bit strange but was surprisingly amazing!!!). Steak with Cream Pasta was giant and the two girls couldn't finish it. There was even enough to take home. Found in a shopping center with a large free parking lot. No line to get in. This new Korean-Italian fusion is popping up all over social media for it's cute eclectic interior perfect for those beautiful brunch dates for the influencers and just chill hangouts. The restaurant itself is located in a very random strip mall so has plenty of parking. You can make a RSVP on Yelp but they didn't seem very busy even for weeknight dinner for our small group of 4. The menu itself has a variety of Traditional Korean and fusion Italian items ranging from salads, pastas, and entree items. There is a brunch menu which seems to be served all day with traditional brunch items. They do have a small tea, coffee, and yes they do have some cocktails, beers, wine on the menu too. Burrata Salad: Burrata, arugula, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, cherry tomato, baguette. This was very beautifully plated salad abet simple. The burrata was super fresh and tasty with the balsamic glaze and sourness of the cherry tomato. The salad is served with 3 slices of toasted baguette if you want to make like a baguette finger foot bite. Rose Tteobokki: Rice cake, fish cake, cream, spicy sauce, vegetable, egg. This was the only traditional korean item we got and it was one of our favorites. This was a very traditional tteobokki with chewy rice cake. It does have a mild spice to it even though the waitress said its "non-spicy" so be aware if you don't eat spicy. It does make your heat sweat slightly but not burning like regular tteobokki. There is a single hard boiled egg, and alot of cabbage/onion but super tasty with the sauce. This actually goes great with the rice dishes but abit rich if you're only eating this alone. Steak Cream Pasta: Prime beef steak, cream, vegetable, extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, parmesan, baguette. This cream sauce is ABSOLUTELY delicious! What they don't list on the menu is garlic which there is ALOT of roasted garlic in this sauce so super flavorful! The steak you have an option of medium rare or well. We got medium rare but really it came out medium/well. It's a thin sliced 1/4" steak so just enough meat for sharing or yourself. There is a small arugula salad on the side also. The pasta itselfs portion size was small so good for individual entree not great for sharing like we did. Overall this was our favorite dish minus the over steak. Bulgogi Fried Rice: Rice, bulgogi, vegetable, salad. This dish by itself was the most letdown of all the items we ordered. First of all where is the bulgogi? It's literally tiny minced bulgogi meat so taste more like floss pork rice if you know. This dish again comes with the same arugula tomato salad as on every other dish. There is some random dill pickles and pepperoncini on the side. Overall again by itself this dish was our least favorite. But for sharing family style a great filler item especially paired with the tteobokki and steak cream pasta sauce. You literally can soak up every last drop of sauce on those dishes with this rice and your carb item. if you're eating this by itself idk it's pretty bland and uninspiring like something you'd cook for midnight snack. Overall a good cute spot for hanging out but yes it's out of the way in La Miranda. If you're in the area its good to stop by to try but maybe not worth driving there just to try it. WOW! Another great find thanks to the amazing Nate! (@nate_eatz). We had the Asian Chicken Salad, GIGANTIC, and the dressing on the side - and a very good dressing, not "vinegary" at all. Next, we had the Mussels Stew. Theirs is made with a tomate base, not a creamy-vine like how I like it, but it was delicious! It was like having steamed mussels and a great tomato soup. Our pasta was the Steak and Creamy Pasta, and it was GREAT! Not your typical "oily" cream, but very smooth and light instead. In total, a great place to eat with great food. Surprisingly pleasant Korean-Italian fusion spot in La Mirada! I'm not a gal of fusion food typically but I thoroughly enjoyed the rose tteokbokki and the truffle mushroom pasta that my friend and I shared. The spicy tteokbokki was a good balance to the creamy, rich truffle mushroom pasta. Their menu is quite extensive with entrees that range from breakfast omelettes, to steak salads, to various pastas! They also have an extensive drink menu with coffee, non-caffeinated fruit drinks, and even an alcohol menu that includes beer, soju, and makgeoli! The ambiance is clean, bright and good for groups of all sizes. There are plenty of tables to accommodate even large parties. Service was great. The servers were attentive and friendly, and I think they work both the coffee bar and the restaurant. Plenty of parking in the shared lot! My only suspicion is how a restaurant/coffee spot does SO much. It seems too good to be true but so far I've enjoyed it and would come back when craving some Korean-inspired carbs! read more

Stumbled on this restaurant as I was scrolling thru Yelp and so excited to have tried the food here because it was delicious however this is definitely a cheat meal due to all the creaminess from the pasta! So be prepared to enjoy the yumminess. We ordered the following: Steak cream pasta - this was good except the steak was a bit undercooked for my liking Gamberry rose pasta - creamy deliciousness! Sweet chili shrimp- wow this was delicious, the sauce was very tasty and you can eat it with rice! Overall I recommend as all of the dishes we got were fantastic! read more

Kind of hidden location. Everything was clean, floors are a little worn out. Food was good. I enjoyed my shrimp salad for the most part, maybe could use a little less red onion. But overall the salad would be great on a summer night. Very refreshing. The strawberry match was good, pretty standard. read more
