Went here on a Saturday for brunch and it wasn't that packed yet. We ordered our usual - truffle mushroom pasta and mussel stew. We also tried the burrata salad for the first time. The truffle mushroom pasta wasn't as good as it used to be. It still has the same creaminess but the truffle flavor is lacking. The pasta was a bit overcooked too. For the burrata salad I wish they put at least 2 burratas for a better proportion. There were a lot of grape tomatoes and arugula for only one burrata. On a brighter note, the mussel stew was good - my son devoured it lol. The place itself is nice and spacious. It's a cute spot to eat and catch up with friends.
A cute spot with good food! I personally ordered the carbonara, which I found to be very flavorful. It was very creamy, somewhat sweet, and had bits of meat in it. I would recommend trying other pastas if you want something more savory! It took a bit for them to get our orders and to receive our food as all tables were filled, and they only had one person working the floor for most of the hour before the restaurant closed. Overall, they have an extensive menu and a simple, cute aesthetic. I love the idea of fusion foods, so I'm glad I got to try Somethin!
A modest cafe with okay food. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Shrimp pasta was great and was the only plate we finished. Prosciutto brie toast had too much jam which made it cloyingly sweet for us, personally. The truffle fries were confusing. Truffle was not present -- La Croix is more flavorful than these fries. Many of the fries had an inconsistent fry on them, with one side being considerable more cooked than the other. The shrimp toast sando was unbalanced. Way too much salad, and too finely chopped made it structurally difficult to eat. The shrimp flavor was anemic to begin with, and was further overpowered by the overly sweet yuzu sauce on the bread, which also made it soggy. The side tomato salad was great, and we wished this also accompanied the prosciutto toast. I ordered cream latte at the tail end, and I am glad I did -- the coffee is the one thing I would come back for.
Simple looking cafe but food was delicious!! The pasta and prosciutto toast was 10/10. Waitress was extremely patient and friendly. I requested espresso over ice with a splash a milk and she totally understood the assignment. The vibes are cute. Nothing too special. I want to come back to try more pastas for sure.

Gets pretty loud if there are a lot of people inside. Staff was helpful in advising that the chicken needed to be mixed otherwise it would burn. Even though they have an outdoor section, it was closed on a Saturday when I was visiting. Not sure if it open on other days, but it is not dog friendly.
The menu drew me in, but the food left a lot to be desired. It was fairly empty at 8pm, so thankfully we were able to get a table. Pretty and quiet ambiance with moderately dim lighting. The servers were quick to get our orders, bill, and offered recommendations. Both of our pastas lacked flavor. For a savory dish, the cream sauces were very heavy in cream flavor and lacked salt, seasoning, and depth. The parmigiano cheese- any cheese really- was undetectable in both pastas. Truffle mushroom pasta was incredibly bland, while the steak cream pasta was bland with a sweet aftertaste. For a savory dish, it was really disappointing. I could not finish my pasta. The very humble-looking steak, while small, thin, and oddly not having a sear/char (not super appealing), was pleasantly tender. The garlic bread, however, was the saving grace- nicely toasted and savory. My favorite was actually the caprese salad, but that's hard to mess up. It's a nice place for a last-minute date or meetup without making reservations. Menu impresses but the execution was not so great. Unfortunately, I would not come again.

It was very much lacking in the elements of korean food as their tteobokki (which is advertised on the menu as "k-food") was simply some form of marinara sauce and the vegetable was a sad take on kimchi. The mentaiko cream pasta was unremarkable. I'm not sure if they're better as a cafe but it's definitely not the place to go for Korean food. Service was fine and the decor was nice.

The drink tasted like a grape Jolly Rancher, and it was absolutely delightful. Basically, if Muji opened a restaurant, this would be it. The menu is equally impressive: Asian-inspired dishes with a modern twist, plus brunch staples and pastas that feel both comforting and elevated. I got the burrata seafood pasta (yes, I'm a person who orders cheese on seafood--no regrets) and the loaded nachos, and let me just say, the portions were comically large. Like, "why did I wear jeans" large. Coffees were solid--nothing overly fancy, but they paired nicely with the vibe and the food coma I was slipping into. Service was quick and low-key (bonus points for not being overly chatty before my caffeine kicked in). Prices were totally reasonable considering I left with both leftovers and inner peace. Parking wasn't a headache either, which in this city feels like winning the lottery. If you're into minimalist aesthetics, big portions, and food that makes your taste buds clap--run, don't walk.
Came here for the second time yesterday and it's just as good as I remember. Me and my friends each got our own Carbonara and shared the Parmesan Garlic Fries. The Carbonara we all agreed is the best we've had. It's so creamy and savory with the perfect amount of garlic, bacon, and onions. The fries were also delicious and perfectly thin and crispy. I especially loved the sauce it came with--really made it a stand out. It's not super garlic and cheesy though so if you're expecting something of that flavor, it's a bit more subtle. Service is always a 10/10 and the aesthetic is very modern, clean, and a great place to dine with friends. I'm already looking forward to coming back!
My friends and I came here for brunch a few weekends ago. I liked the fact staff answered any questions we had about the menu as some of us had dietary restrictions. I ordered one of the Korean street toasts, and really enjoyed the sandwich. Everything was so flavorful and satisfying. One of the others ordered the chop steak pilaf and that was so delicious. I will definitely come back in the future.
A friend of ours found this place as our meet up half points and it was such a hole in a wall. You wouldn't have noticed this shop if you pulled up into their parking lot. We came here with a reservation at 10AM, however, there was only one host working. There were probably at least 3 tables full, some already ordered and some were still waiting. As we got seated, it did take longer to order as people started showing up as groups and we knew it would as time order before we have to wait longer. Ordered - Beef Tataki Salad - good, but may have over did it with the dressing Asian Chicken Salad - loved, the dressing wasn't overpowering Truffle Mushroom Pasta - loved, would have eaten a whole plate myself Steak Cream Pasta - not bad, though I think it's the same meat they use for their steak salad, which I don't mind because I like efficiency Cream Seafood Pasta - loved, would have eaten a whole plate myself If you prefer to sit down and eat after grocery shopping next door ( Skater bros ) then definitely check it out. The service got better after another staff came in for their shift. Would we come back? Yes.
Stopped by on whim, after I went to stater brothers and was craving a drink. Location is very clean, service is great! First-timer here. Servers were polite and their customer service was excellent! Purchased a few drinks and a sandwich to share. read more
The cafe was cute, clean, and simple. Was expecting a restaurant but to find out it gave a boba cafe vibe. The service was amazing up until the shift change, which was unfortunate. The pastas were definitely well put together with us presentation abd it tastes great as well. The gamberry rose pasta is definitely a fave! Only thing I recommend is having a baby changing table in the restroom. That would be great for those who are coming with children's. read more

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch today, and we're so glad we did! This place is a hidden gem. We started off by ordering drinks; I ordered the Dirty Matcha (coffee + matcha), and my husband tried the Somethin' Cream Latte. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious. Next we ordered our food; I ordered the Gamberry Rose Pasta while my husband chose the Bacon Kimchi Pasta. The pasta comes with a piece of baguette on the side. Both dishes were very unique, tasty, and full of flavor. We've never tried Korean fusion pasta before, and we were blown away by how amazing these combinations were. The ingredients they added work so well together and added so many new flavors. They are also very generous with their portions, which is an added bonus. The restaurant interior was clean, spacious, and had nice modern decor. We enjoyed the ambiance while dining. It wasn't too loud, and they had music playing in the background at a comfortable listening level. The staff were very friendly, polite, and had our food served to us quickly. We had a great experience and we're definitely planning on coming back soon! read more

Order: Grilled pork toast Rose shrimp pasta The garlic bread on the rose shrimp pasta was good, wished they gave us more than just one tiny piece. The sauce was a thick consistency and shrimps were not as soft as I thought. The grilled pork toast was pretty good, glad to have tried something different. Could do better with the pork spread out evenly for a more consistently bite across. Loved the tomatoes, it definitely added a layer of freshness to the toast. Overall, enjoyed both dishes! Service was good, and the restaurant was well lit. Pretty spacious and had lots of seatings. read more

My friend had tried this place once before, so threw this out as an option for our lunch meet up. The menu along with the reviews looked good, so was excited to try this spot. When we arrived on a Monday afternoon, the place was about half full. The space isn't too big, so we did have to wait a few minutes to get seated. By the time we got seated, most of the tables were on their way out. Once we had a chance to look through the menu, we each picked a dish and since I had skimmed through some of the reviews, I knew I wanted to try the rose ddukbokki and the burratta salad. The food came out pretty fast, everything tasted pretty good, but I was least impressed by the rose ddukbokkk. I liked the chewy texture of the rice cake, but the sauce tasted like it came from a chef boyardee can. We also ordered a total of 4 drinks, which we did not get until we had to ask for them towards the end of our meal. I didn't get to try all the drinks, but my strawberry matcha latte was good. Not only were they nonchalant about forgetting our drinks, no one mentioned the fire heating up the bulddak chicken should be turned off within a few minutes -- the lack of guidance/explanation caused all the hash brown to burn. We weren't told about any hash brown being at the bottom since the dish looked like it was just half chicken and half cheese on their menu, so we only found out when we smelled something burning and dug down to find black pieces of hash brown. Haha. My friend who's been in the restaurant industry for years mentioned how their service was not good (he usually never is the one to complain about service). Overall, the experience was decent, but their level of service was lacking. read more
The meal was fantastic, with great flavors and visually appealing plating. Unfortunately, the mango lemonade was overly sweet, which was a bit of a letdown. A cute fusion cafe! I made a reservation for 2 for a Friday at 12pm. We were able to just walk in but they did reserve the table for us! The interior was very cute and staff was very friendly! We started with ceviche and chili cheese fries as appetizers. (They were very large shareable portions!) The ceviche kinda just tasted like cooked shrimp with pico de gallo and was just ok. The chili cheese fries were a bit too sweet personally. For entrees, we got the gamberry rose pasta and the kimchi bacon pasta! I loved the pasta here and both were very yummy fusion flavors! For drinks we got the strawberry lemonade and the injeolmi latte! The latte was good but the lemonade lacked strawberry flavor and got watered down pretty fast. Overall it was a good experience! I'd come back for the fusion pastas and maybe try some desserts next time! read more
Came in around 8:30 on a Sunday, and service was quick! The store is clean, kind of looks like a sit down boba. Endive: we love the actual vegetable, but not sure how well it pairs with the sauce... but the pistachio with a dollop of sauce was nice Steak cream pasta: the pasta was a cream sauce with mushroom and caramelized onion. It was yummy and the bite paired well with the arugula. The steak was tender, slightly under seasoned. Mushroom soup: this was a steal! 6 bucks for a nice bowl plus a garlic baguette slice. I was weirdly food shamed here. My friend and I decided to try this place because it's close to where I live and the food seemed interesting enough. The place is cute, it was clean. Located in a plaza with plenty parking. The flavor was solid.. No complaints but here's where it gets weird. The waitor/owner (?) was a little odd. He helped take our order and I guess it was really cold because he kept hiding his face in his turtle neck taking our order and fussing with his sleeves.. barely made out what he was saying but ok, fine, not our business. We ordered 2 pastas, the gambas, and a side of fries with 2 drinks between 2 people. Our food started to come out and we noticed that our fries never made it to our table. When I brought up the missing fries to the waiter/owner (?), he responded "don't you think it's enough food?" and when I responded no, he continued to ask me TWICE "do you want me to make the fries now? You sure?" I'm sorry? Never have I been asked this type of questioning regardless of how much food I ordered. This is the most unprofessional experience I've ever had at a restaurant and no matter how good their food is. Additionally, I ordered a pasta togo during the meal and asked to have it ready as my partner was waiting outside for it and he just let it sit there on the counter for a good 10 mins before I got up to ask him if that pasta was for me (we were the only ones in the restaurant) and all he said was "yes, sorry. I forgot". Again, we were the only ones in the restaurant and they were NOT busy at all. I'll never return and hopefully everyone considers the level of service before they support businesses like this. P.S. they don't clean their shrimp which is the minimum they can be doing considering they charge $25 for pasta.. read more

Visited Somethin' cafe with my roommates and their mom! Somethin is a cute cafe styled restaurant that sells Korean and Italian fusion food! I ordered their Kimchi Spam Fried Rice, which also came with an egg and a salad. The inside of the restaurant is relatively quiet and laid back. The vibe is cute and casual, it's nice for catching up or maybe a little date! They also offer cocktails and mocktails. I ordered one of their lemonades, and it was really good! Just leaned on the sweeter side. The staff members were all super sweet and accommodating! We ended up taking a lot of our food to-go, and needed more bags and boxes than originally anticipated, but they were really nice about it. They were super speedy with bringing out our appetizers, and our main entree orders came out in a similar time frame which is something that I really appreciate. They are a little bit on the pricier end, but the food quality was really delicious. I would definitely recommend folks to try this spot out! read more
UNIQUE FUSION PASTA!! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! This was our first time having fusion asian and it was great! The boys started with Mango and Peach lemonades, I had a glass of wine. They shared the bulgogi quesadilla and the Steak Cream Pasta. I had the Mentaiko pasta. Everything was delicious and we cleaned our plates! The only criticism is that it would be nice if the Mentaiko came with more than one shrimp (3 should be the minimum). You can tell that this place used to be a coffee shop but it's all good because you can actually order some coffees and teas. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more items. Saw this place on an Instagram feed and needed to swing by and try it. If I had to describe the type of food, it would be a mixture of a Korean and French Bistro. Looks like a coffee shop but has sophisticated food. The servers were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Very nice gentlemen. The food was pretty good. My wife had the truffle fries and French toast. Both tasted fantastic. The fries were shoestring which meant extra crispy. The French toast wasn't super sweet and was nice and airy. I respect the fact that they serve the whipped cream and syrup on the side. I, myself, ordered the beef tataki salad. It was a great combination of sweet and salty as the balsamic glaze really enhanced the dish. The only issue I had was my steak was slightly over cooked. Would prefer a medium finish on salads, mine was a medium well. Drinks; I had an americano which was dark and bold in flavor but not too bitter. Very nice. My wife had the iced peach black tea. Again, very refreshing and nice. Would love to come back again but with more people. Definitely a place to eat family style. read more
First time trying this perfect little place in our neighborhood. The whole menu looked so good and wanted it all but we ended up with the Burrata Salad, a MUST, my hubby ordered the Cheese buldak (chicken and cheese) and I had the Seafood Pilaf. They were all soo delicious and I can't wait to taste those again. The ambiance was very family friendly and very clean with a friendly helpful staff. read more

The portions here are huge!!!! It's a Korean Italian fusion place which is super unique, I've never had some of the flavors here before. We highly recommend the rose ttekboki, it's like a creamier version of regular ttekboki with a bit of marinara flavoring (which sounds a bit strange but was surprisingly amazing!!!). We also ordered the rose gamberry pasta which was spicier than we thought but very creamy and delicious!! The beef tataki salad was ginormous too and the beef was so tender! Came here for dinner with some friends, and we ordered a few pasta dishes, a salad, and quesadilla to try. The highlight was the pasta! The sauces were all really good, my favorite was the mentaiko cream pasta. The shrimp and garlic bread that came with it tastes great. It would have been nice to have a bit more protein, but it looked exactly as it was shown in the picture. Overall, a good place for Korean-Italian food! read more
Awesome local restaurant. Wish this was around when we were living in the area. Open for breakfast and they serve REAL meals early in the morning. GAMBAS has large shrimps swimming in buttery spices. The pieces of sliced toasted baguette toast is perfect. I was able to split with someone else. It really was rich and it might be too rich early in the morning. Steak with Cream Pasta was giant and the two girls couldn't finish it. There was even enough to take home. Found in a shopping center with a large free parking lot. No line to get in. Decent sized dining area, but we had no problems finding an empty table. Server was super nice. Based on the espresso machine, the coffee might be good too, but we didn't order any because we just grabbed coffee from somewhere else. read more

This place shook me like an earthquake!! Why is it so yummy?! Right when I walked in, the servers kindly greeted me. They constantly checked in with my party and I. I love Korean food, but this was SOMETHIN else ;D . I love how each bite complimented each part of my taste buds ! I quickly notified my friends and told them how yummy this place was. I will definitely be back. The store was very pretty and clean (including the restroom!) I regret not ordering one of their drinks to try, but that's an excuse for me to come back hehe. read more
This new Korean-Italian fusion is popping up all over social media for it's cute eclectic interior perfect for those beautiful brunch dates for the influencers and just chill hangouts. The restaurant itself is located in a very random strip mall so has plenty of parking. You can make a RSVP on Yelp but they didn't seem very busy even for weeknight dinner for our small group of 4. The menu itself has a variety of Traditional Korean and fusion Italian items ranging from salads, pastas, and entree items. There is a brunch menu which seems to be served all day with traditional brunch items. They do have a small tea, coffee, and yes they do have some cocktails, beers, wine on the menu too. Burrata Salad: Burrata, arugula, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, cherry tomato, baguette. This was very beautifully plated salad abet simple. The burrata was super fresh and tasty with the balsamic glaze and sourness of the cherry tomato. The salad is served with 3 slices of toasted baguette if you want to make like a baguette finger foot bite. Rose Tteobokki: Rice cake, fish cake, cream, spicy sauce, vegetable, egg. This was the only traditional korean item we got and it was one of our favorites. This was a very traditional tteobokki with chewy rice cake. It does have a mild spice to it even though the waitress said its "non-spicy" so be aware if you don't eat spicy. It does make your heat sweat slightly but not burning like regular tteobokki. There is a single hard boiled egg, and alot of cabbage/onion but super tasty with the sauce. This actually goes great with the rice dishes but abit rich if you're only eating this alone. Steak Cream Pasta: Prime beef steak, cream, vegetable, extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, parmesan, baguette. This cream sauce is ABSOLUTELY delicious! What they don't list on the menu is garlic which there is ALOT of roasted garlic in this sauce so super flavorful! The steak you have an option of medium rare or well. We got medium rare but really it came out medium/well. It's a thin sliced 1/4" steak so just enough meat for sharing or yourself. There is a small arugula salad on the side also. The pasta itselfs portion size was small so good for individual entree not great for sharing like we did. Overall this was our favorite dish minus the over steak. Bulgogi Fried Rice: Rice, bulgogi, vegetable, salad. This dish by itself was the most letdown of all the items we ordered. First of all where is the bulgogi? It's literally tiny minced bulgogi meat so taste more like floss pork rice if you know. This dish again comes with the same arugula tomato salad as on every other dish. There is some random dill pickles and pepperoncini on the side. Overall again by itself this dish was our least favorite. But for sharing family style a great filler item especially paired with the tteobokki and steak cream pasta sauce. You literally can soak up every last drop of sauce on those dishes with this rice and your carb item. if you're eating this by itself idk it's pretty bland and uninspiring like something you'd cook for midnight snack. Overall a good cute spot for hanging out but yes it's out of the way in La Miranda. If you're in the area its good to stop by to try but maybe not worth driving there just to try it. The service is pretty good and clean hip decor for all your foodie IG foodporn shots. read more
A nice cozy place to dine in and meet out with friends. Service was fast and friendly. Food was well prepared, they look good and taste great. Carbonara was creamy and the pasta cooked al dente, it's a 10/10 dish worth ordering. French toast was okay, it's not bad and it looked so good but my personal preference of french toast was not done like this one, so 7/10. Coffee and strawberry matcha were good, both 8/10. read more

WOW! Another great find thanks to the amazing Nate! (@nate_eatz). We had the Asian Chicken Salad, GIGANTIC, and the dressing on the side - and a very good dressing, not "vinegary" at all. Next, we had the Mussels Stew. Theirs is made with a tomate base, not a creamy-vine like how I like it, but it was delicious! It was like having steamed mussels and a great tomato soup. Our pasta was the Steak and Creamy Pasta, and it was GREAT! Not your typical "oily" cream, but very smooth and light instead. In total, a great place to eat with great food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

Stumbled on this restaurant as I was scrolling thru Yelp and so excited to have tried the food here because it was delicious however this is definitely a cheat meal due to all the creaminess from the pasta! So be prepared to enjoy the yumminess. We ordered the following: Steak cream pasta - this was good except the steak was a bit undercooked for my liking Gamberry rose pasta - creamy deliciousness! Sweet chili shrimp- wow this was delicious, the sauce was very tasty and you can eat it with rice! Overall I recommend as all of the dishes we got were fantastic! read more
Surprisingly pleasant Korean-Italian fusion spot in La Mirada! I'm not a gal of fusion food typically but I thoroughly enjoyed the rose tteokbokki and the truffle mushroom pasta that my friend and I shared. The spicy tteokbokki was a good balance to the creamy, rich truffle mushroom pasta. Their menu is quite extensive with entrees that range from breakfast omelettes, to steak salads, to various pastas! They also have an extensive drink menu with coffee, non-caffeinated fruit drinks, and even an alcohol menu that includes beer, soju, and makgeoli! The ambiance is clean, bright and good for groups of all sizes. There are plenty of tables to accommodate even large parties. Service was great. The servers were attentive and friendly, and I think they work both the coffee bar and the restaurant. Plenty of parking in the shared lot! My only suspicion is how a restaurant/coffee spot does SO much. It seems too good to be true but so far I've enjoyed it and would come back when craving some Korean-inspired carbs! read more

Kind of hidden location. Everything was clean, floors are a little worn out. Food was good. I enjoyed my shrimp salad for the most part, maybe could use a little less red onion. But overall the salad would be great on a summer night. Very refreshing. The strawberry match was good, pretty standard. read more
