We made a pit stop here on our way to Portland. Despite it being a weekday morning, the place was bustling. Patty, a lovely lady, assisted us that day and found us a quieter table away from the noise. She promptly served our coffee as we were in a hurry, allowing us to quickly scan the menu and place our orders. We opted for a Jr. Chocolate Chip Pancake, Loaded Veggie Omelette, Berry Vanilla Crepe Breakfast, and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast that morning. The Loaded Veggie Omelette, my usual choice at Denny's, was particularly delicious with perfectly grilled vegetables. The kids loved their pancakes and French toast. We tried the Berry Vanilla Crepe as an alternative to pancakes, which wasn't the best choice, but it served as a decent option for those not craving pancakes. The restaurant is very spacious and conveniently located near I-5, making it a great spot for a quick stop during a road trip. The service was excellent, with Patty being exceptionally attentive. It was a thoroughly pleasant experience overall!

Senior scramble eggs and pancakes. Pancakes are So Big and tasty.

Nice place. Although I didn't like I had to walk through the bar to get to the dining with my children.

Finally stopped by Pat's on the corner of Pacific and Carpenter, and wow, what a gem!…read more It looks like a little house on the corner, super cute and inviting. I've driven past it for years, always curious, and now I'm kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. Recently, they added Phuket Thai to the mix, which cranked my curiosity up even more. While the economy has definitely tightened how often we eat out, when we do, my fam bam and I make it a point to support small local businesses. And this is one I'm thrilled to shout out to the community. Pat's is open for breakfast and lunch, serving up both classic American fare and Thai dishes, yes, you read that right! The food was absolutely delicious, the Thai coffee was chef's kiss, and the vibe inside? Friendly, clean, spacious, and totally welcoming. We'll definitely be back. Don't sleep on this spot, it's a neighborhood treasure! If you're in the area, stop in and grab a bite and say hi. You won't be disappointed.

Loved Pat's Café for Years -- It's Not the Same Under New Owners…read more Pat's Café was one of my absolute go-to spots for years -- I've been going since around 2005-2006. My mom, grandmother, and I all had our favorites there, especially the stir-fry beef dish and the classic corned beef hash the original owners served straight from the can (cooked just right). It felt like a reliable neighborhood restaurant with solid, consistent American-style dishes. Since the new owners took over, the consistency and quality have slipped badly. Dishes now come out differently almost every time. The Pad Thai toppings are sometimes mixed on top, sometimes served on the side like an afterthought, and extras appear or disappear randomly. It was noticeable but not a deal-breaker on its own. On one visit I ordered the country fried steak. There was a fairly large, hard piece of plastic in the meat. I bit down on it hard enough that it could have easily cut my gums or mouth if I hadn't noticed. I showed it to the server, and the only response I got was that they buy the country fried steaks from a vendor, so it wasn't something they made in-house. No apology, no offer to remake the dish, no discount -- nothing. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and returned for another meal. That next visit (or the one shortly after) became the final straw. I ordered the green curry. Eggplant is a major ingredient that adds essential flavor and texture to every bite -- right alongside your choice of protein (chicken, beef, etc.). I ate several bites before realizing there was none in the entire dish. When I mentioned it, the waitress simply said they had run out. They never disclosed the missing ingredient when I ordered or before serving the dish, and they didn't offer any adjustment, remake, discount, or comp. They just served an incomplete meal and charged full price. The lack of basic customer service on both visits was shocking and felt disrespectful. Finding a foreign object in your food should at minimum get a sincere apology and an offer to make it right. When a key ingredient is missing, the restaurant should let you know upfront so you can decide whether to order something else. On top of that, beloved items have disappeared or changed for the worse. The stir-fry beef my family loved is gone from the menu. The original corned beef hash was replaced with an in-house shredded version that just isn't as good. The place even seems to be going by a second name now (Phuket Thai) alongside Pat's Café, which adds to the confusion. I'm really sad about this because I genuinely loved the old Pat's. The new version just doesn't feel like the same welcoming neighborhood spot anymore. If you never knew the original, you might still find some decent meals, but for longtime fans, the changes -- and especially how both of these situations were handled -- make it hard to recommend. I've stopped going and am now looking for a new regular place. Hope the owners read this and consider bringing back more consistency, better food safety practices, and better communication when ingredients run out.

We started with some amazing coffee, but when the most amazing biscuits and gravy came out, I was astounded by the rich mushroom gravy that was more of a stroganoff than a country gravy. The sausage set this dish off and topped with two eggs made every tastebud swoon with delight. Saving the best for last, these evil sorcerers decided to make French toast out of a dense, thick slice of bread pudding. Topped with a berry compote and vanilla drizzle, each bite had me squealing in ecstasy. I can't do regular French toast ever again!

My hubby got the Tahoma. Chicken fried steak on top of biscuits and hash browns and gravy on the side. Just because the portion is GINORMOUS!! our server suggested for us to get gravy on the side to eat later and keep from it getting soggy. Thanks Heather!! My Loco mock was okay. Just some plain burger patties on top of rice with eggs. The gravy was delish. If the patties were fat homemade patties and sticky calrose rose, it woulda been MWAH (chef's kiss)! Still, great experience. Great breakfast spot to try out!! Family friendly!!

When we first walked in, it felt like a classic diner. And it is! In all the good ways. The diner is clean, the coffee is hot and flavorful, and the portions are generous. My husband had the Build Your Own omelet, topped with Jack Cheese. And they did not skimp on the ingredients. The cheese was nice and gooey, and the flavors melded perfectly. I had the French Toast. Again, generous portions, and the slices were thick and perfectly battered. Not soggy, slightly crisp. And the syrup was warmed! Sometimes it is the little things. The bacon was crisp, just how I had ordered it, not limp, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Our server was Shawna, and she was personable and perfectly attentive. We were seated where we could observe the cooks, and they functioned like a well-oiled machine. All in all it was a good experience, and I would highly recommend. An added bonus: there are glass partitions between the booths. It really helps keep the noise level down. This was much appreciated and I wish more restaurants would do this. I gave a 5 star rating a year ago although visited several times since then. I can't figure out what happened. Did the chef (s) move on, or pass away and a crew from a local fast food restaurant was hired as a replacement? I ordered the meal with filet, crab leg, lobster (portion?) with baked potato and Death by Peaches for dessert. I have had crab legs here before. This had been boiled until there was no flavor, and very ittle meat. And that was the selling point for me. The lomaster was fine but the sauce wasn't hollandaise as the bartender said. A watery, mustardy sauce. Not terrible but not very good either. Ordered filet medium, came well done. I took it home hoping to add to chili but too tough to eat. Took the baked potato home to save room for dessert and it was good. The real slap in the face was the dessert. I have ordered Death by peaches over and over and was never disappointed. What arrived was a heavy, dry, dense cake without much flavor, some peaches and a small scoop of ice cream. It needed a lot of ice cream or peaches to get through it. I left most of it. I don't mind splurging and I have without complaint but this was such a a disappointment. Most of the patrons were older and I had to wonder if management feels their expectations are lower? I will close by stating that wait staff and bartenders are top notch. Including Isiah from yesterday. Above and beyond even with a busy crowd. Never a complaint about the service. You are no longer my go to restaurant that I can depend on. Oh, had two drinks that were fine but the wine list is meh.
