The food was fine preparation of the food took a while, but the waiter Michael was amazing very polite and attentive to our needs.

First thing, we pull into the parking lot and see a sea of glass all over the parking lot. (Yep! We lost a tire because of it, several pieces of glass were found in the tire) We ordered our food, me and my dad had burgers, the meat patties were as small as kids happy meal burger patties. I don't think so. If I am going to pay for some beef, I want beef! Also, the server did not ask us if we wanted fries or OR with our burgers. I can't stand OR and that is what I got. We decided to do breakfast this morning and went to Denny's. I use to eat a Dennys all the time when i lived in Hawaii. After all the rumors circulated that we were getting one here in Lake Charles La I was excited. The place is extremely nice and clean and I love the bar stool seating like in the old dinners. The service was fast and Didnt have to wait long to be seated. My fiance order fiance order the Grand Slam and chose the items he wanted and I got the Grand Slamwich which has bacon egg turkey and ham on bread grilled with a maple spiced spread with hash browns. It was so delicious and a lot of food. I couldn't eat it all. The server was very nice and helpful on selection. The menu is fairly big with a delicious assortment of Burgers. This was my first time eating at Denny's but I will definitely be back. read more

Walked into the building. Was not greeted properly. Stood there for 5 minutes. Was finally seated waited again to order drinks. Finally ordered the food was tasteless look good had no flavor. The kitchen was bit backed up as they were busy on a Saturday morning, however our server Reatha kept us posted on the status of our order and even offered our son goldfish to snack on in the meantime. What a shit show of an experience. Our server was great, I'll start there. The kitchen and management on the other hand was a nightmare. We had the slam specials our bread was wrong and not even toasted. The bacon wasn't cooked completely and my husband didn't get his food. It wasn't ready until we had all had finished our food. It was still an arguement with the the kitchen as well as the food we took to go that wasn't cooked properly either. Instead of the manager diffusing the situation with us directly, it was if she really didn't care. We went to dennys on Jan10 2024 at about 11:20 am. The address is 635 W Prien rd, Lake Charles,la. This was our first ever going to Dennys and my last time. When we walked in the lady asked how many was in our party wetold her and she had the guy set up a table for us and we were seated. Well we waited and waited for a menu. The lady walked by our table a couple times but never asked if we needed anything. After about 5 minutes the guy comes to take our order and we told him we didn't have a menu to see what we wanted. Well I was already mad so all I wanted was a coffee because I figured if it took that long for a menu how long would it be for our food. I will give them the third star because they has some hard workers that were passionate about doing there job. It seemed one of the only places in all of Lake Charles you can actually get a breakfast table at without waiting an hour. The food was typical Denny's fashion... good enough for a family breakfast. If they had some management that could balance the work load better for the servers and front personnel, they'd have a way better business. read more

Greeted as soon as we walked in with a friendly smile. The Grand Slam of breakfast is a correct statement. Extra crispy hashbrowns (yes I ordered them extra crispy), tender eggs, bacon and sausage and the best pancakes. I arrived at a local casino resort, to find that their restaurant was ridiculously overpriced ($18 for eggs, bacon, toast), so I decided to see if there was a Denny's close by (I would have even gone to one further away, if I had too) and I found this one. The staff was very friendly and every morning, I had a different waitress, they were all nice, polite, and accomodating. The restuarant was clean and inviting as well. Every morning, I had the same meal, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuit with gravy and a diet coke. The food was always prepared the way I like it it and it was $12 cheaper than the casino's breakfast cafe. I will be back. read more

My waitress was slow and didn't seam to care to be there. She slowly walked around with her hands in her pockets. Took well over an hour to get a Denver omelette. Other staff had to refill my coffee. When I did get my food it was ok but the hash browns were very greasy. I'm not sure exactly what's going wrong with them, but I've been there twice now and found the service utterly unsatisfactory. The first time, during the lunch period, I waited six minutes before realizing that I had slipped between the cracks in getting a waiter, and that I wasn't going to get my order in fast enough to place an order, eat, and leave before my lunch break expired. More recently, when I ate there for lunch, I placed my order as soon as I sat down, was given a drink - and then sat among four other tables, all of whom were waiting for food, for about forty minutes. But manager didn't want to let us sit on the left because the waitress had 8 people to wait on and the other waitress had no one and she could wait on us faster. Do not go here. I came here after my cousin's graduation since it sss nearby and It took FOREVER for me and the rest of my family to get our food. I waited 20 minutes on a Coke. I had ordered the Bonesless Chicken Wings. Since they were out of chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks. This was around 9pm so I guess I understand why they were out. The Wings sucked. (Bufalo style) they were dry, flavorless and, had no Bufalo sauce on them. I was literally served a chicken nugget. So spend your hard earned money at a place that's actually worth it. read more

Takes too long to fix food. On multiple occasions I have waited 30 minutes to 1 hour for food, only to receive the wrong order. The female manager never seems to care that you are waiting so long and seems bothered when you ask her to check on your order. At least offer a discount or a free appetizer. Not a good place to come if you are on your lunch hour. read more

If you like Dennys food, come here for that, but don't expect service. I've been here a number of times and it's always the same. They will not come by your table after dropping off your drink or your food. Want more coffee? Too bad. Syrup for your pancakes? My husband and I stopped in here for a lunch on a Thursday. They were pretty busy, but we were still seated right away. He got the Spicy Siracha Burger and I got the Build-Your-Own Burger again and we both loved them. They are delicious. I added Avocado to mine, but it wasn't worth it so next time I'd just add Bacon. This is my first time at this Denny's and due to some previous reviews, it was my third choice for breakfast. After visiting places 1 & 2 and saw that they were super busy, I came to Denny's. I sat at the bar and Ms. Geneva was my waitress. Can you say excellent customer service!!!??! I work in the customer service business and to have to the someone like Ms. Geneva help me out today, I couldn't have picked a better place to end my weekend getaway. Another amazing note I saw was the manager Mr. AD; he is what I call a leader. He dispatched each order from the window to all waitresses and reviewed each order before leaving the window. He caught several items missing from a few orders but guess what..? The customers did not know because their order was reviewed properly. AMAZING job!! When I come back to Lake Charles, this Denny's will be #1 on my breakfast. Good job to all! Keep it up! read more

To start with we had to repeat everything two to three times to the person on the phone. Even though the order was repeated over and over, it was still wrong. Ordered a kids meal cheeseburger with hash-browns. There were no hash-browns and no cheese on the burger. We had a crying child because they could not get a simple order right. Just because it's a kids meal does not mean it is not important. We also ordered a side of bacon that we did not receive. Is this how you make money? This is a poorly managed restaurant. It goes beyond pandemic staffing issues...it's dirty. Not up to cleanliness standards. The owner most definitely has his head up his arse. Nobody in their right mind would continue to operate this way. One cook should have easily handles the 11 people that were in the restaurant and no...it doesn't take 45 minutes to cook and deliver eggs Benedict (without the ham, mind you)...the only bright star in the whole restaurant was the waitress...she's barely keeping this place together...but to no avail due to other lazy staff. You don't leave the wet floor signs out all over the restaurant when the floor is dry...put them away...bus the dishes immediately after the patrons leave...one table that Is tall and long in the center, clearly was the staff break are with their stuff...food..etc on it.there is too much wrong to list on here... owner/manager, wake up...start managing. read more
