To be sure I have the right location and we give credit where it is due, it should be for Unit #1202 on 804 N Lakeshore Dr. The food was great as usual for any waffle house. The diner was clean and the staff was attentive to clean immediately after the customer(s) departed. But my main reason for taking the time to write a review is because this staff was totally in synch. They had such a jovial attitue. And just worked well together. We were greeted with a welcoming smile. Given the time needed to make our choices. This team could have easily been moving to the same tune of music. They were so nice and did not fiddle around, but got the food right out. We had been traveling for 7-days and I wish all other places we had stopped by to eat was as inviting as this group was. This location is fabulous we literally walked out of the location 25 minutes away from this location because the service was so terrible so we came here and we're so happy we did. The service is AMAZING, the employees are sooo friendly. They definitely turned my night around after dealing with the terrible people at the other location. We had lunch and the staff was awesome with everyone that walked in. While you could tell they had a lot of regulars they were just as friendly with newbies. My friends and I had a great first experience at waffle house thanks to Kristen, she was very personable and professional. My boyfriend and I had never tried waffle house so we were excited to finally be dining there. The rest of the crew were great too; smiling, cleaning, and even checked in on us knowing it was our first visit to a Waffle House. We ended up going back 3 times during our stay in Lake Charles and each time we were met with the same warm welcome from the staff. (That was two months ago) Fast forward to this past weekend, we found ourselves back out in Lake Charles and were delighted to see Kristen and some other familiar friendly faces from our previous visit. Same as before food cooked fresh in front of us. Everything was as good as it looked, very generous portions (compared to ihop, dennys). I cant speak for other Waffle House locations but this location has a great staff who take pride in serving great food. read more

Nastiest Waffle House ever!! Menus were sticky, counter was sticky, dirty rag on counter. We were a party of five and sat there for TEN minutes at the counter. No one acknowledged us. Waitress was nice, but our booth had ants crawling in the window seal, one of our over easy eggs was broken so the cook made another one. Bacon was not cooked good too little hash browns. And to top it off my Sweetheart had a hair in his food. Just as I noticed the hair a employee was walking around and also saw it. She said oh I was passing by at the right time, who was your waitress. She gave us 15 percent off the bill, and coupons for our next visit. Of course we will not visit this location again. Honestly, it is really hard for me to give 1 star, but I had to from a recent visit here. I am not sure if the whole crew was just out of sync or were tired from serving two football teams, but myself and a friend came in Saturday morning at 7 am as we were traveling through the area for a charity event. We were staying at the nearby Days Inn. There were maybe 10 people as customers and one lady getting a to-go order. It took about 15 minutes to get someone to ask us for drinks, then when they did they assumed the order was for both of us and brought it out even though they never asked us. My friend wanted coffee and water and I wanted orange juice and water. What we got was two coffees and one water? How does that equate for two people? Once we got the drinks fixed, the OJ came warm and the water with no ice. I asked for tea, but she said it wasn't available because they have to make a batch every 7 hours or so.. but no one was making one right now? So I relinquished that request and forgone it as an option. Next we ordered our food, it finally came out. Simple steak and eggs and potato and eggs (scrambled). Oddly, we got our food cooked, but not hot? Really odd since I just saw them cook it... Overall, we slurped down what little cold food we got, did not dare ask for refills, and chugged down our warm drinks (OJ included). We paid and I still left a good 20% tip because it is what I do, but I will guarantee that I don't think I will stop here again and would rather eat at the free breakfast of the Days Inn motel just a mere 1200ft away (I went back there to get my OJ fix and they had refreshingly cold milk. My experience here was less than. Wasn't busy at all and you'd think the servers just acquired a spring break load of people all at one time. For starters it took up until the time we got our food in order to get our drinks. Then another five minutes to catch her so we could get some straws. The bacon didn't come with our meal when it was supposed to so we had to wait on the cook to finish smoking his cigarette before getting bacon. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I have had the opportunity of tasting the food at this place a few times in my life although food I really good customer service is bad. This is the second time I come to this same spot with my family in the last two years because I don't live in this city and has been a bad experience. The very first time I tried this place, I thought it had good service. So I opt to try again later in the week and then another week, hoping it'll be better. It seems like nobody wants to work and do their job. We stood inline for about 30 min and we didn't get to even sit down. Tables not cleaned, it was open but nobody came to clean it, unorganized from the get go. The 3rd time is not a charm. Tables were still open but still not cleaned. Had to force myself to sit at a dirty table before getting a response. . Floors needs to be cleaned, trash on the ground, slippery as f$&@ too. This place is decent. I visited Waffle House with a friend and chose the grilled chicken salad. I watched the server go from the cash register STRAIGHT to preparing my salad WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!!! I She stuck her hands straight into the bag of lettuce, grabbed a handful and put it on the plate. She then added some cabbage, AGAIN, with her hands!! She brought the plate over to the cook in order to add the chicken. She then brought the salad. The chicken tasted like BACON, I HATE BACON!! The chicken was overcooked, hard, slightly burnt and certainly did NOT taste like chicken. I was extremely disappointed in the entire experience that I had that day. the waitress was giving disapproving looks at me and my friend although she did wear a very obvious fake smile on her face. you should unequivocally require your staff to use tongs to retrieve salad out of the bag or gloves provided that they change their gloves out appropriately. my guest observed what she called hand-washing as a quick finger wipe on a wet rag. I most definitely will not be returning which is extremely disappointing but I have now seen Howell unconcerned your staff is with keeping your guests free of illnesses, germs, bacteria, etc. Not to mention that she contaminated that whole bag so considering that her hands and other people's hands apparently just go in the bag they have left behind multiple cases of contamination!! In addition, the reason I chose the grilled chicken salad is obvious, its for health reasons why would your cook grill the chicken and bacon grease and if he didn't then that means he did not clean the griddle.
