This is our first visit and it will be our last. We came at 6:30: the scramble eggs were over cooked. The service was slow. The hash brown was under cooked. We did not get our money's worth. The server did the best she could with what she had. The food took foreverrrrrr to come out. Then once it arrived it was lukewarm at best. You'd think with the extra 30minute wait it would have been pipping hot. Not a chance!!! The silverware was filthy, ended up eating with plastic utensils. I really hope they get it together. Walked into denny's here in lake charles Louisiana by Prien lake road and when I tell u the service was bad it was terrible. Honestly it felt like there was only one cook. I specifically asked my waiter for a bowl of hash browns with bacon and cheese and about 25 mins later I got a small tiny dish of hash browns. Then we had a order of an omelette that took years to come out that had no mushrooms that we asked for so we told the waiter and she brought back the omelette and the mushrooms were so raw and tasted frozen and so did the steak inside the omelette. The mango and strawberry lemonade we order was so sour there was nothin but thick thick thick syrup at the bottem. SMH gonna be a while b4 I come here. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. Began with a pack of open razor blades falling out of toilet paper dispenser then they brought me and my husband our order but never came with my daughters food even after asking waitress and manager. Worst breakfast food in town. McDonalds is 100 times better and cheaper. I ordered waffle and 2 eggs, I should have noticed margarine on top of waffle was not melted. Sending it back didn't improve, it still was cold and hard. Waitress was nice and called supervisor even though I hadn't asked for one. He offered to do it over but, I refused cause really I found all the food inferior. The eggs were cold and powdery but, I was too hungry and ate most of them. They did surprise me by taking waffle off ticket even without me asking. I've had better breakfast including powdered eggs at Memorial Hospital Cafeteria. One nice thing I must say is the bathroom was clean and waitress was very nice. Also this visit was earlier in year, hope they made gigantic improvements in quality of food and a better cook. So many things that are just wrong. Ultimately management is awful. It's a slow night, not many diners, but there's plenty of staff. No excuse for such poor service. We were brought to a corner booth which did not accommodate two high chairs so we were offered another table to fit us better. This pissed off another server, she very openly showed her disgust to the girl that had sat us. (Foreshadowing of the rest of the evening) After being sat down, we were not acknowledged by any wait staff. My husband went to the hostess stand after a long wait, where several were hanging out doing nothing and asked for service. Then there was a long wait for our food which came out incomplete. They hadn't brought one of our children their food, it took another 5-7 minutes for that. My husband's hash browns were very small in proportion and over cooked. The server noticed as she set his plate down and said she would put an order in for more. That was at least another 10 minutes. What's the point of bringing it out that late?? The manger on duty looked like he was on his first day of the job, didn't really know where menus were when guests walked in, did not engage with his staff as they moved around slowly not looking busy but have customers waiting for attendance. As I walked out and passed him at the podium, he was surfing on his phone watching a video. He looked up at us and sheepishly smiled but said nothing and turned away to hide his phone!!! What happened to time to lean, time to clean? I've worked in the industry before, these people are not trained well. Came here for breakfast and ordered an omelette with hash browns and coffee. My husband ordered a Club sandwich, side salad and coffee. 15 minutes later, received omelette but not the club sandwich. 10 minutes later got the Club sandwich but it was lacking mayo. At this point, my husband was tired of waiting, was hungry and had not receive his salad. The waitress was going to take back the sandwich, so that the cook could add the mayo, but my husband told them to take it back because he didn't want it anymore. I was done with my breakfast so, we just got up to pay the bill. My husband asked for a discount since they screwed up his breakfast and our morning together but all the manager did was remove my husband items and that's it. My breakfast was fine but for forgetting his order and slapping something together when the waitress reminded them of the salad and sandwich is unacceptable! I think a lot of the bugs have been worked out from the time since it is open. The facility is nice and clean although I feel the bathrooms can be kept up a little bit better. The server's were very courteous and very attentive to all of our needs, I do feel that the paying process is a bit antiquated in that you have to bring your ticket to the front like an IHOP and wait amongst the onrush of patrons waiting to be seated. My whole family found the food to be exceptionally well prepared and great overall. This particular restaurants opening went through a lot of growing pains more so than most restaurants I've seen around here upon opening and the reviews seem to reflect that, however I feel our experience was one of how a Denny's is supposed to be operated. People often forget this is a short-order cook type restaurant that processes hundreds of people a day and there are going to be mistakes made, I for one am okay with an honest mistake here there. With all that being said we will definitely be back we thought our experience overall was pleasant. read more

My wife and I went to have breakfast on the 16th of November, when we walked in the waitress at the cash register was rude to us right off the bat. We were seated at a table that was wobbly, then I noticed behind us the booth had a electric heater sitting on the ledge of it with an old water bottle sitting on the window ledge. Our waitress came to see what we wanted to drink and bring us a menu. No fault to her but we couldn't understand her because she had lost her voice. She brought us our drink order and we ordered our food. When it finally came out my order was wrong and when I told her about it she told me no this is what you ordered in a very low voice that I could hardly understand. I then walked back to the front and grabbed a menu to show her exactly what I had ordered. She then said she would take care of it. So while I was waiting for my order to come back in the mean time my wife had almost finished all of her food. So I just took the majority of the food to go. We will never go back to Denny's again, as for myself I would rather spend my money at the dollar store as it seems the dollar store may have a better breakfast and they don't even sale breakfast. read more

We went and they were several tables empty, not busy at all for a week day morning yet they had a line out the door. Servers were moving back and forth like confused chickens with their heads cut off because no one was communicating. 3 people tried to cash one guy out because each of them didn't know if he had been helped yet but they did nothing about the line going out the door. They had to be told to seat people and when they finally did seat us the waitresses were fighting over tables because they were not seating us in their sections. at my friends and i went to denny's and we were sated down. we then waited for 10 minutes and no one came to serve us. after 15 minutes we all left. OMG where do I start !!! My husband and I have been traveling to Orange Tx to Denny's for YEARS so when we got a Denny's here locally we were exstatic!! TILL we tried it. 1st Visit: We Waited for 20 minutes before a waitress even showed their face we ordered our drinks......... 20 mins we got our drinks. Then we ordered............ 45 MINS later we get our COLD food, order not correct Eggs were under cooked, hashbrowns cold and only cooked on one side. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and service SUCKED!!!! Now go to Orange Tx Denny's it is AMAZING nice wait staff and they are on it you are greeted when u walk in and they are on point. FOOD is DELICIOUS. So as time went by I said well we'll give Denny's another try. OMG IT WAS WORSE!!!!! ok 30 mins before we even got a drink, then we ordered food, while waiting for our food a young couple with a lil baby came in. They waited for the waitress 25 mins she came so they were trying to give her their order and so the waitress just gave the lady her order book and told her to write down what they wanted and she would be right back. The lady Was so outdone she and the guy got up packed the baby back up and left she said she was not a waitress and didn't understand. So anyway 1 hour later our food arrived not even good enough for my DOG!!!! Eggs were cold, ham was cold, hashbrowns were burnt and my husband had steak YEAH right it was tough and cold. NEVER got our pancakes. So anyway we got up to leave get to the register and the girl is just standing there. No hi can I help u or nothing. Let her know about our food and no panckaes. She didn't care ask for the manager she was outside with her other Waitresses Chilling. So if you ever go there and I don't advise you to waste your money!!!!! if you need your waitress go outside she's out there chilling with the manager.
