First time at this new Denny's. We got sat promptly considering the wait time on a Friday morning(25 minutes). Service was lacking though unfortunately. We had to ask repeatedly for refills, food came out cold, and the waitress did not check on us unless we tracked her down. Establishment was clean and restrooms were nice. Not enthusiastic about coming back. Will probably try again down the road when craving breakfast again and running out of options in Lake Jackson. Would not recommend based on my experience. read more

I would give this restaurant a negative 5 rating for food, service and cleanliness. My husband, son and I went there today for brunch,. The waitress seated us and took our drink orders. She brought our drinks back and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a few more minutes and she complied. That was the last of the positive experience there was. The waitress never came back to refill my coffee or my sons dr pepper. She brought half the order before waiting on 3 other tables. The other half of our order came in 4 sections. My husband had a meal that included toast which she never brought til my husband had finished the rest of his food. I would recommend eating dog food before wasting money on this. My plates were dirty and wreaked of egg. My husband became upset and my son who always sits and drinks atleast 4 or 5 glasses of soda pushed away from the table said "let's get the hell out of here"_. This review is based on one visit on a Friday night around 11:30pm. We were one of two tables. Service was prompt, the coffee cups always full, and food was hot and delicious. I don't know how it gets at the busy times, or when there are more than just a few tables, but this is definitely a place we'd venture to for a late night meal again. read more

I went with my family to the Lake Jackson Denny's at 8 pm this evening. I can say without a doubt that this is the worst restaurant that I have been to. There were no customers there except for my family when were arrived. The server, a middle aged white woman with short black hair, was straight up racist to us. My father asked her if we could order and she brings out a tray of water (she didn't ask us if she could get anything for us to drink...she just went to the back and got water) and starts screaming at my elderly father, telling him "you do not speak to me in that tone, not in America, not in Texas". My father said that we were very hungry (after an hour of traffic coming from Galveston) and she proceeded to scream "I don't care if you had traffic, you could've came earlier. Ladies order first." I asked her if she could add less salt to our meals and she said "we don't offer low sodium options, this is not a five star restaurant". BTW, my family is POC. I left ASAP after she mouthed off at me without ordering anything. I hope that server gets fired after I left a message with corporate, not sure if I'm going to get a response. read more

Heard good things about this new Denny's so I decided to give it a visit. Came in and was told there would be a thirty minute wait. My party of four was seated within about ten so I guess that's good. Although it was because four parties before us left from the rudeness of staff. I should've taken that as a sign and left while I could. After being seated our drink order was not taken for another 5-10 minutes and every time our waitress came to "wait" on us she couldn't pay attention. Constantly looking at the door and talking to random friends of hers as they came in. Oh well, hopefully the food will make it okay right? Wrong. The fries came out stale and cold and the eggs over cooked and, again, cold. Save your time money and aggravation, eat somewhere else. Update: gave it another try, still sucks. read more

Sometimes you just have a hankering for homestyle comfort food. That's why when my husband took our daughter to this location while I remained at home nursing a painful neck I was looking forward to Pot Roast. Have you ever had Dennys PotRoast it's almost as delicious as Bob Evans Pot Roast. Tender savory beefy succulence alongside forkable veggies on an evening like this is just the ticket... from home I accessed Dennys menu online and confirmed my hunger. Not long after telling hubby my order he texted me back. "Dennys doesn't have it any more" Well isn't that just my dumb luck!! Nothing else sounded good. I called in an order at a local dinner spot I'd discovered last week and gave instructions for pick up. I'm told that their meal took a long long time to arrive and that they were told a cook had been sent home. I'm also told that a meal discount was promised. Keep in mind my husband already qualifies for an AARP discount. Hmmmm hey Dennys... thanks for the AARP discount applied. I've never NEVER had a problem in any way shape or form with any of our many visits here in the last year of dining here. I don't expect future visits will continue in this vein. Crap greeting from hostess. One set of silverware when there are 2 of us. Filthy water glass. One egg over ez and one side (2 slices) of bacon means 2 eggs and one piece of bacon. Chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and biscuit means cfs with potatoes and broccoli that musta come out of the dumpster at the shitty Chinese place around the corner. Yay Denny's! read more

Not sure why this Denny's falls short, usually I like their food when we can't decide on anything else... This Lake Jackson location isn't very good though. The staff, while friendly, seemed harassed even though it wasn't very busy. The food was terrible. Much rather go to Ihop right around the corner. read more

Bad service, always ask for tip when customer check out... either cashier and waitress are acting meanly. They all need to be trained how to smile and say thank you for customer after taking their money. read more

The service here is sooooo soooo sooooo slow!!! It's ridiculous! My boyfriend and I were in there one time for a total of like two hours and it wasn't busy. The hostess that is usually up front isn't very friendly. read more

I am finally getting around to try this place. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and was not too impressed. Meat was a little tough and the pepper jack queso is least to be desired. Paid nearly $10 for the meal. For $10 there are more feasible options. Perhaps I need to try their breakfast and I will change my mind. I have experienced far better diner food. This was the second time I've done curbside and the parking spot was taken. I had to pull up to the door the first time so again I thought that was the policy. Both times it took them over 10 minutes but this time I waited 10 minutes and decided to go in. There were approximately 6 people standing around the drink station talking and goofing off. I walked in and an employee came up to the front and I ask her if that was my food she grabbed the food and said I'm trying to find out. She walked around to where the group of employees was I waited a few seconds (plenty of time for her to ask) and decided I would go ask where my food was. I was very angry at this time because the restaurant was basically empty and I can't even get my food to go. So I with a raised voice asked where my food was they all started yelling back told me to calm down and the lady with my food yelled at me that she was looking for my food. Very unprofessional. Horrible service. Been here twice. The first time there was absolutely nobody and we waited over 10 minutes just for drinks. Came again because we hoped it would be better. Mistake. There was people but they were by no means busy. Again, it took over 10 minutes to even get our drink orders. Our waiter was outside for a while then came back and blamed the cooks for us not having any food yet. He didn't bring things we asked for, like napkins or even refills. This place has improved 100% since my last visit. After sending an email to corporate about poor service I was surprised to see such an improvement. Prior trips had maybe two servers in the whole restaurant, now there are too many to count. They were all hustling like busy bees and all very attentive. The food was hot and delicious, and our server, Renee was super sweet and an excellent waitress. She went above and beyond to be sure we were happy.. and we were! Great service! I saw a lot of complaints about this place but went anyways. I've always liked Denny's quality and service over IHOP. I've been here 3 times now since it opened and loved it every time. the food is fresh and hot, the service is amazing, and everyone is friendly. We have tried to go 4 times and it's always packed with a long (30min to an hour)wait time. We finally got in and were seated, they were busy but not packed,and I noticed that there were 4 or 5 tables that appeared to be parties of 2-4 who were older that appeared to be just having coffee (free refills, right?) and chatting. They may have ordered and already eaten and cleared the table before we got there, so ok. We ordered, the food was ok. Not great. Not bad. The server seemed preoccupied and only came to the table to take the order, then brought the bill. A busser served us, and we had to ask for our drinks (not refills -the ones we ordered) 3 times. We left and I realized I'd left my sweater there about 45 minutes later. Went back by to get it and the same tables were occupied by the same people, still drinking coffee and talking. Meanwhile there were about a dozen people waiting to be seated. I understand they want to be nice, but really, put a time limit on it. You have several tables just drinking (free) coffee and chatting while paying customers are getting frustrated at the wait time and leaving. Went in at 3:30pm thinking there would be no wait. I was wrong. Even though there were a few empty tables, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Ten minutes later we were still waiting for someone to take our drink order. Not far away from us there were 6 Denny's workers milling around the cash register area doing nothing. Food was good and came in a timely manner but the wait staff was very disorganized. When it was time to leave we asked for a Togo container. They brought out a cardboard doughnut style box. We had gravy and it wasn't the appropriate container to transport a liquid. They did not have anything else so they placed foil in the bottom but the box had vent holes on the bottom sides. A group of 10 of us visited Denny's in lake Jackson last week. We all tried different entrees and every seemed pleased with the food. They have done a nice job of redoing an older building, it was light and clean. When we went in we told the waitress we would would need separate checks but when she brought the ticket it was all together, we mentioned it to her and she said they would take care of it at the register. Unfortunately the cashier was not happy about it and was snippy with us. It caused a backup at the register and I can understand she was stressed but it was not our fault and do not feel she should have taken it out on us. I did overhear one of our party questioning if she would return. Other than this in convince. All was well. I hope they can get it together. Came in the front door at 10:15 pm Monday March 28th. Waited for 8 minutes at the front desk and then went behind the wall of the front desk where I found a lady very busy tending to her cell phone. I asked if she knew where the hostess was and then she informed me that I could sit anywhere. After finding a clean table I decided to sit and wait. After waiting for 15 minutes I went back to the place where I had fount the lady busy on her cell phone and I then asked her if there was a waitress anywhere around. She said someone will be with you shortly. After waiting for an additional 20 minutes I just left the joint, I don't think anyone noticed. Sitting in my truck writing this review I saw three gentlemen walk in the joint and got attended to in a timely manner. It's sad to think its 2016 and this is still going on. There was only four people in the joint, so it was not busy. I would really want to hear a good excuse. read more
