Twice now we have had terrible service at this Dennys. During both visits it took a full hour and a half to get our food after being seated. Today it took half an hour just to be seated, even though there were plenty of tables available. It took so long for our food to become available, we decided to cancel the order and walk out. I have been going to this Dennys for 25 years, and the bad service has only been in recent years. I sincerely hope it improves. read more

Excellent service. Joseph was a new server and gave excellent service. Drinks were kept refilled. The eggs in a basket were eggcellent and a huge portion. Likewise the value grand slam. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. read more

Always top quality breakfast food, and options for people who aren't such morning people, too. The staff is friendly and genuine, and regardless of how hectic they are they stay professional and efficient. Their new renovations are the cherry on top. read more

Not sure about the other negative reviews, but personally service and for me is great there. The place is always clean and doesn't look like it needs redone to me. I mainly order their dinner and lunch menus, but their breakfast has also always been good. read more

I guess they don't know how to answer the phone. First I place an order and try to go get it and they're closed so I have to go to work, 9am rolls around I get a voicemail saying my food is still sitting there since 6am, and they're wanting to know who's coming to pick it up, I call back and apparently it was my fault the doors were locked and I could not get in at 5:30 to get my food. So then I speak to Ken (GM) who tells me to call back and place my order and he'll replace it. I've called over 5 times this morning and NOBODY wants to answer the phone. I know y'all ain't that busy. I guess this Denny's just doesn't care about their customers like they used to. At this point if I could give 0 stars I would. Not to mention the first woman I spoke to consistently made it sound like it was my fault that I didn't want to go pick up my food at 9am. That food was 3 hours old and I was at work. Yeah let me just drop everything I'm doing to get some cold and nasty food. That makes perfect sense. Funny thing was, is that she insisted on getting a manger not me. Seems like every time I visit this location lately it's been horrible. They never have enough staff in place. Nobody at the front to take names for seating, which creates chaos. Our server turned out to be the manager, but then I saw her cleaning tables, then running out food for other tables not even in our section. I had to ask her for silverware, creamer, and sugar. My coffee was like warm by the time I decided to bother another waiter passing by for my requests, which the manager never got! The table was dirty and still wet and just completely I un-stocked! Also heard the staff arguing and fussing at each other. Just plain unprofessional. I think at this point that was my last visit and I'll just stick to Ihop. Never had any problems there. read more

Stopped by Denny's this morning for breakfast. My family loves this spot for the occasional meal and have been several times. They were busy, but we were seated right away. The waitress, Toysheka got our order right, though the kitchen got it wrong. Hubby's eggs came easy over instead of scrambled and mine was missing hash browns and grits. Toysheka was having none of that. She fixed everything right away and made us feel right at home. We'll be back, of course. read more

What can I say that you don't already know? It's Denny's. Everything is kinda Meh! I went here and ordered a California Club Sandwich, that's a Club with avacado. I only ordered a club cause I figured it was a safe bet, how do you mess up a Club Sandwich. They found a way. It came as a regular sandwich, not as the double layered Club as pictured in the menu, it was cut in half not in quarters, single layer and it was missing the avacado and lettuce. When I asked about the avacado they apologized and brought some avacado slices. Unfortunately the avacado was hard as a rock and some slices still had the skin on it. After pointing that out the manager came by and apologized and gave me a 10% discount. I would have much preferred my food to be prepared properly and eatable than a discount. Since I no longer need that "I've been out all night partying and need to eat" restaurant anymore, I'll pass on Dennys. read more

Recently remodeled, new management. I stopped coming here about two years ago because it was a dump, the service was mediocre, and the food wasn't very good. It wasn't worth it. I decided to come and give then another try because I heard that it was remodeled. WOW! What a difference! It's clean, the food was great, the staff was courteous and professional. 100% better! If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I put in a simple pick up order, just for pancakes and a milkshake. It said it would take up to 20 minutes for my food to get done, which was no big deal since I live 20 minutes away. It took me about 25 minutes to get there, which was alright with me because I thought my food would already be done. Nobody was at the front counter. Numerous employees walked past me, acting as if I weren't even there. 15 minutes go by and finally a woman brings out my food and a very watery milkshake. Normally, I wouldn't complain but since the place only had 2 tables filled, I find this a bit more than ridiculous. Either hire some better people here or teach the ones you have better customer service skills! read more

If I can give 0 starts that will be my grade for THIS LOCATION! I had visited Denny's at different locations all around the country (highways, roads etc) but this is an awful location beginning with the lack of service We arrived no hostess then they gave us a super messy table that I wiped with two of my baby's swipes and came black! I showed this to the server and she told us it was just some residues of the antibacterial they used for the tables!?! (No sense) after that she told us "well I bet that your house is all spotless and clean" .?.!?.! Food... my baby's egg had black things on it they told us that were some residues of the fry griddle (no sense) my husband's burger bun was all wet from the grease of the beef patty!! Since it is a small place (no problem) you can smell the restrooms from 4 ft outside, the service I can not just blame the server because that will be just unfair but the whole service! Kitchen hostess cleaning everything. Never back again! 0 recommendable! Not even for coffee since they serve the coffee and bring al the cup leaking! read more

I moved from Boston to Lakeland. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and settle into a small town. With that said, ever since I been in Florida, outside of the touristy areas, customer service is pretty much nonexistent in the restaurant business. It's pretty sad that you cannot go and have a nice meal these days, in Lakeland. I took my kids who never tried Denny's before to lunch. We walked in was not greeted but was just told, follow me. We didn't walk far as we sat at the first table. I didn't care. The waitress, did not introduce herself, but as she was walking by said she was going to be with us in a few. Fine. She came back and took out drink order. A few moments passed, she came back with the drinks and then took our food order. This is where it gets weird, we waited a LONG time for our food, to the point that my 7 year old needed a refill. Not once did the waitress stop and apologize for the wait. She did not even stop to refill my kid's drink until after we got our food. My 8 year old said Finally as she brought our plates. The wait was ridiculous! Then she never revisited us again. She didn't ask if everything was fine or if we needed anything. Before she left the table when we received our food, I had to stop her from walking away and asked if she could bring an extra flatware set, hot sauce and had to remind her that she forgot my daughter's yogurt. Each time I said something she looked as if I was bothering her. After our meal I had to track down another employee to get the check. The food was fine but the service is meh. read more

this is a great place. the people call you by your first name if you are a regular. great service almost like they can read my mind. food comes out within minutes. the servers are back checking on me constantly. i think most of the bad reviews for this location are for the north lakeland store. the south lakeland store is top notch. desiree and amy s take great care of me. read more
