No stars today. Group of five including two children for breakfast at 6am. I ordered the veggie omelet which I've enjoyed here often. Found a black hair in it. I sent it back and ordered just scrambled eggs. Found another black hair in that dish as well! Server was unconcerned. At this point I couldn't face eating eggs so I just ate the fruit and muffin. Three of my group at this point were too grossed out to finish their meals. We boxed them for our dogs. When the check came I was charged for the muffin and fruit. Half the meal cost. I told the server I didn't think that was fair especially since it spoiled the meal for the others. She said it was their policy - nothing she could do, no manager available. I called the manager and she told me that I ate the other sides so yeah, I had to pay. Only $7 but it's a bad policy and it was totally disgusting. What's going on in that kitchen? Beware, they don't apologize, accept responsibility, or try to make it right. I would have been fine with the new eggs and considered it a one off but after the second hair I was done. Two hairs at one meal, same customer are not normal or acceptable and a good apology and attempt to correct it are necessary. Won't be back and passing it on to friends. 10/26/19 At this Denny's the staff all required to wear black slacks, none of that black tights I have been seeing at Fairfax. The staff predominantly Hispanic. The clientele as of right now is more populated by Hispanics too:) The sounds of the Spanish language can be heard mixed with the sounds of crying babies...Que Sera Sera. We quickly learned at this store, you can not substitute eggs for meat. I hate eggs and we were told no. I was fine with a small upcharge, but we were told no. Gloria (our server) had to break the bad news. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and it came out quickly and very hot:) Gloria continously made sure everything was okay. The avocados I ordered never came, but since it wasn't on the bill, no biggie. This isn't our normal Denny's we go to, but it is one place to keep in mind when we venture out this way. read more

Hungry for some much-needed eats and the question comes up (IHOP or Denny's). Now it is a matter of personal preference, but this guy will take Denny's every time. Only one menu per-table was kind of a pain and took a while for each of us to take a turn. I ordered steak omelet, hash browns & cinnamon roll pancakes. The omelet was good, however the cinnamon roll pancakes were the bomb, so F@%&ing delicious, warm, fluffy and I have to stop - getting emotional. The pancakes are the reason I gave it four stars! There are always employees making sure the place is clean and that guests are served promptly. The skillets are amazing!! Shockingly bad! I'm trying to think of something positive to say about this but have become lost for some adjectives. How shall I start? Perhaps the 40 minute wait for the food. My wife and son were served with theirs. Mostly cold and overcooked salmon. Quite a feat! However mine failed to turn up. Only a burger bit all the same it appeared after the rest of my family had finished. The waitress seemed apathetic and disinterested. I sent it back not wanting to eat alone. I then received the bill with all the items on. So horrible was the experience I felt like rolling up my sleeves and asking them if they needed help. An excellent breakfast! Had something new this morning - the "Moons Over My Hammy," which is a sandwich with scrambled eggs, two kinds of cheese (American & Swiss) and ham - think of a grilled cheese sandwich, plus hash browns. I also ordered a side of Sausage gravy and biscuits. Turns out I should have foregone the Sausage gravy and biscuits - it was a lot of food! Plus a cup of coffee and a glass of water. The sandwich was just delicious! Perfectly grilled, cheeses were melted just right - and the ham was heavenly! Succulent, tender, melted in your mouth! I was surprised to get something that tasted soooo good at a Denny's! The Hash browns were crisp and perfectly done. The Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, were average. The thickness or viscosity of the gravy was spot on - but it needed to taste more sausage-y and have some chunks of sausage in it! Service was excellent. My waitress checked on me several times. Bill was $12 and change - I left a $3.00 tip. read more

Overall this Denny's has good food and good service however I am taking a star away because we found a piece of egg shell in my husband's eggs. We took it out and everything else was fine. Yes, I am a 73 year old man that is a veteran of this country. In my whole 73 years I have never experienced such a terrible experience. I didn't even eat inside. My daughter ordered takeout for me and when I went to go get it the receipt said I didn't tip. I will not be returning here and I will be telling all of my friends and families to not go to this establisbment. This is an embarassment to the United States where an old veteran can't pick up some food without a rude handoff and rude note worried about a tip for dropping food off. I'm not sure where to even start! I have been coming to this Denny's for the last 15 years at least but never again will I ever step foot in that place again! The worst customer service I have ever witnessed. From the waiter not being able to communicate because he didn't understand our language, to our food being completely wrong and cold. He then took our plate of nachos with sour cream and put it in the microwave and brought it back. Completely unacceptable! Not once did he apologize or come back to the table after that instead he sent 2 managers that still could not get it right. When it was time to pay our bill, the bill had extra food that we did not order on it. Yet again no apologies for not getting one thing correct or for the inconvenience. One of the so called managers Kevin stated there was nothing he could do about the terrible customer service. The following is my written complaint filed directly to Denny's via their online customer service form: Hello, I am very upset because I'm a loyal customer and subscriber to your emails, which are filled with discounts. I'm told my coupons from these emails are null if they are not printed... it's 2019. Why? Who has time to go back home to print out a coupon just to eat at Denny's? Who plans out their late night trips to Denny's? It's supposed to be a spur-of-the moment dining atmosphere, or is it not? The rigidity of the manager to whom I spoke was off putting. He claims his name is "Al," hopefully that's not too ambiguous to call him out and address his rudeness. Instead of validating my concerns in a supportive manner, he showed me allllll of the printed coupons that were used today by previous customers. He did not smile, nor did he remotely validate my outrage and disappointment at the outdated system. I was civil and still polite, although clearly upset and disheartened. He wouldn't even ATTEMPT to scan the PROMO CODE with the scanner... what is the point of the emails with these promo codes if the managers are all defiant and resistant towards honoring my simple request/complaint?! Why am I wasting my mailbox storage space getting this subscription... for what? So I can take an extra 10 minutes out of my day to print off coupons like it's the 2000's? This is so frustrating to people like me who have utter reliance on these "reward programs." Also, I just literally witnessed a fellow customer who was here the same timeframe I was. He was told he could not use his AARP card, although it was a legitimate card and he is a legitimate member of AARP. He was told to never return to this Denny's location again. I have never in my life ever been treated like this in a restaurant a day in my life. After working as a waitress for the last 5 yrs at a very busy local restaurant.. it is beyond unacceptable for any restaurant to treat its customers that way and is completely absurd! Tried going in for Sunday brunch and this is what happened. Door handles are dirty with finger marks everywhere, food on the floor by the entrance, people waiting everywhere by the entrance. This is the second time that my wife and I have visited this restaurant. The first time my wife and I had to leave after having not been served after having been seated 30 minutes earlier. I thought that I would get them a second chance and come in the middle of the night at 3AM. I was told they were cleaning their grills and they wouldn't be able to serve us food for 30 minutes. This place is a joke. I went to dine in and wanted to use my Birthday Reward for a Grand Slam. I showed our waiter the coupon on my phone and she showed me on the menu what I could get. After enjoying our food it was time to pay. The manager said that I wasn't able to use my coupon because I didn't order the correct item. I was very upset I indicated that I had spoke with our server about my reward before we even ordered our food. I don't know if it is a language barrier or what but they need to learn how to communicate better. This has also happened to other people I know. Ordered food to pick up this morning. Sent a coworker over to get it with my credit card. They charged him a $3.37 gratuity charge without even asking him. And we picked up the food! Call to talk to somebody name was like Sameia and she said that that's a gratuity charge and that my coworker put it on there. He said he was just given an amount and gave her the card. I was hung up on two times by this worker at the Denny's in Manassas and she was very rude and mean on the phone. This restaurant is in the top five for sure! The food is delicious especially the nachos and the skillets I recommend it to anyone who isnt afraid to spend money on their food. The waiters are so happy and pleasant to be around with and to have a conversation with. It's half-past a monkey's bum in Manassas and you're looking for some late late night eats. There's only two options if you want a sit down, wait service meal - the age-old choice of IHOP or Denny's. It's a matter of personal preference, but THIS GUY will take Denny's every time. Stopped in here late Sunday night (or early Monday morning, however you want to phrase it) for some much-needed eats. The build your own pancake TV ads were calling my name, but I wound up going for more savory eats. The great thing about Denny's is that their current menu is that just about everything is "build your own". Build your own appetizer trio (or duo) - I'll have mozzarella sticks, a cheese quesadilla, and jalapeno caps please. And the newly added jalapeno caps are money ... they're basically breaded and fried sliced jalapenos. Brilliant! Oh, and I can build my own burger as well? How about a double cheese burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, egg, LTM, on grilled potato bread. YUMMY! I can get hash browns as a side if I want to? You had me at hello!! I will say that Denny's isn't necessarily "cheap eats" these days - they do have that nice 2-4-6-8 value menu, but you typically get more for your dollar at IHOP. But the food is IMO better at Denny's, and the variety of options have won me over. I like options ... and Denny's is my option to satisfy late-night cravings. read more

This is my third visit to the Manassas Denny's and I will NEVER go back. My boyfriend and I ordered a cup of pumpkin coffee (it was bitter), the pumpkin breakfast for $6.99 (it was good) and added the slice of gingerbread halves each for what we believed was .49. We were going to take the gingerbread halves home for dessert and had them immediately boxed. When we got our bill we alerted the waitress that we were overcharged for the gingerbread halves (on our bill we were charged $3.69 a piece for 1 slice of 2 halves). We asked that she adjust the price. She stated that the .49 for gingerbread ONLY applied if you got the "Build Your Own Grand Slam" for $6.50. I thought the menu was unclear about this and she got a manager. The manager came over and was snotty and said, "You ordered them. You're mistaken. This is how much they are". I stated that if we weren't getting them for what we thought we were paying, we'd rather just send them back. We only ordered them because we thought they were a good deal for that price; and since our meals @ $6.99 were much more costly than the "Build Your Own Grand Slam" for $6.50, it shouldn't have been an issue. She didn't apologize, try to make things right or help me in any way. She stuck with, "...you wanted them, I'll have to throw them away and basically, 'you're stupid for reading the menu wrong". I have worked in customer service for YEARS! This is NOT good customer service. She told me she'd take them off and throw away our uneaten gingerbread slices, but that we were never welcomed back in the restaurant. We eat out often and just ordered $20 in food from them to go 2 nights ago. Way to lose a customer! I have never been treated more poorly. I was offended and disappointed. No worries Denny's, I'll never return. From now on, I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

This is my favorite Denny's. Ana is our favorite waitress and she does an amazing job. Although the management is seating everyone on top of each other when the restaurant is basically empty and as a regular this seems to be a new practice and it's not okay. We are going to begin going to another Denny's because of this. They literally sat us down at a table with another party of people in the corner when there were at maximum 10 people in the whole restaurant. Not the next table. In the corner, with people on top of us at the same table that we don't know or want to be near. We actually left and came back to be seated in the same spot and when we mentioned that we don't want to be in the corner it wasn't immediately addressed or addressed at all really. Sitting here eating my appetizer upset that they are now having another family sit down where we were originally sat down, except they are allowed to have the table to themselves. Random folks not being sat down next to the amigo family but when we were there, gringo personal space didn't seem to matter and that makes me very offended. I detest when someone mentions race as a reason of being treated a certain way, but this was absolutely without a doubt, one of those situations. I'm disappointed in this restaurant for sure. Food is amazing. Thanks Denny's for not respecting my families personal space, I'll be sure to mention this to a bunch of folks until I get seated appropriately when I come in here. Personal space right now I'd say is rather important. One more issue, why they started giving syrup in these tiny cups but it's cheap watered down and too small and they need to fix that as well they aren't giving enough syrup to eat the pancakes with and that's extremely annoying. I'm usually not a fan of Denny's but today I gave it another chance since it's close to campus and one of my friend was craving a lava brownie from there. She wanted something sweet and we all ended up ordering other things on the menu. Since it was raining I decided to order a bowl of chicken noodle soup because I felt like I was catching a cold and a cold brew iced coffee that was perfect to my taste. I rather make my own noodle soup at home but this did it job so i was satisfied. We was there for two hours enjoying the rain and each other company and not being in class . We weren't as hungry but ordered chicken tenders w/ their seasoned fries, some sourdough sandwiches called the moon something hammy... i forgot, We found it quite funny. Well today is my birthday and Denny's advertises that they will give you a grand slam on your birthday. Not only was the waitress abrasive. But after we ordered she told me I had to eat the whole meal and could not take any of it with me otherwise I had to pay for it. Denny's stop advertising the birthday meal completely if they're going to make people so disappointed in this procedure. Just one other reason why people should hate Manassas. Not only am I disabled veteran and serve this country and take part on Veterans Day by supporting different restaurants. But I don't think I had to deal with her abuse that she gave me. I would tell every veteran not participate or support this particular restaurant. My parents started going to Denny's about 5 years ago for breakfast after they exercised. They enjoyed the food, great customer service, and a special waitress Marleny. I would join them occasionally. The coffee, food and service was better than any other Denny's I had been too! The staffed always made my parents feel special. My Dad passed 2 1/2 years ago and my Mom still likes to go there to eat. It became a special place for them when my Dad was alive. There is a special waitress, Marleny, that has waited on us all those years. She is beautiful, thoughtful, and will give you the best service ever!
