None Pumpkin pancakes wrong. Gave me some nut pancakes. Blueberry pancakes lol not. So I check my banana pancakes, no bananas. The guy gave one, uncut! They had to remake it all. Every once in a while even I need to eat light, egads even order from the senior menu! (No, no, I don't have that many gray hairs on my head yet.) Denny's is one the few places you can get a soup and light fare without having to labor over a hot stove. Since this Sunday was one of those days, I popped into my neighborhood Denny's. I ordered a chicken soup - served pretty promptly and I didn't have to ask for the crackers. It was a thick broth with linguini sized noodles and enough pieces of chicken. Next up was the senior chicken breast with mashed potatoes and rice pilaf. All three items were nice and hot , and although healthy not bland, The gravy on the mash was surprisingly thick and tasty! The chicken breast wasn't greasy, but still managed to have taste. I also have cool memories of this place coming back from Space & Karu back in the days, to the occasional post Art-Walk dinner lately..munching on Nachos, pancakes, etc..Dang another gray came out :) Service was very pleasant, always with a smile on their face and refilling my Sprite - yeah major health kick. My only complaint is that the chicken portion was a tad on the small side, and it can - not always - take a while to get service. You sometimes encounter panhandlers around the parking lot. Your best option is to order to go. Can't go wrong with the Grand Slamwhich! Chefs have really stepped up their game from 6 years ago. Food is amazing! Ain't nothing wrong w this spot- sorry, it's a Denny's, i don't come here to eat as if I'm at a top 5 brunch place where plates cost $25 and up, I come here after hours when not much is open and I'm craving some quick hot cakes with bacon and my bill won't be more than $20. I feel like these ratings are a bit rough, place is clean, staff was nice, and food served its purpose- left w a full belly and I almost licked the plate clean but my grandma raised me better than that lol. I almost always get the French toast here, which I'm a fan of, but this time i got the choco chip pancakes and they were so moist and delicious! Bacon was crispy, eggs were made just how I like em, toast was buttery and hash browns could've been a bit crispier. Over all food was good! My toddler and I stopped at Dennys around 10:15am. It was fairly busy but there seemed to be plenty of workers to keep up with the business. We stood at the front of the line for 10 minutes before being seated. The only table available to accommodate a high chair was a 6 top which our server was not happy about. After being seated it took 20 minutes for our server to stop and take our order. Our food wasn't the best, the scrambled eggs were brown and it wasn't very friendly service. I usually love coming to this Dennys to enjoy a nice time with family and friends. More than 25 years coming here and today July 28th, 2022 was the world host ever when requesting a booth where there was available in the area I wanted to eat. The host asked the waitress if she was taking more people and the waitress told her no right in front of us. I will not be recommending this place to my customer since I've worked in car rental customer service my whole life. I'm dissatisfied with the attitude of the host just telling us to seat where she could help us or we would have to wait. My experience in this place was very disappointing! When we arrived I asked for a booth and they gave me a spot where it was next to the wall. So when I asked for a better booth table, Jessica one of the waiters gave me a attitude and Jadith another waiter thought I didn't hear her when she said, why can't they stay there. It took Jadith more than 10 minutes to attend us and after words Jessica finally moved us to a better booth. We had asked Jadith for coffee before we switched from tables and she never gave it to us. When traveling and cannot make up our mind where to grab a quick breakfast, DENNY'S! Our condo is downtown and this was the closest location so why not? It was a Sunday morning around 10 and there was a short wait for the 3 of us. When we were seated our server acknowledged us immediately even though he was busy with other orders. NO PROBLEM! He brought us waters before taking our order which was a nice touch. Only issue was my son is 4 and we were brought a standard glass cup full and within a minute 12 ounces of water was on the table and his lap. We asked for a towel to clean up and another server got it to us fast. We were told they did not have any kid's cups. That is odd since every other Denny's has them and understands kids are slobs. Moving on, our order was taken and food was cooked fast. Every table was occupied so we understand that it may take longer since it was busy and they were short-staffed. The biggest issue we had was our order was given with deviations and our orders were delivered with errors. Our server served the plates and then left without asking if everything looked ok. Before we could say anything he was gone. SIGH... So we waited and waited since the errors were ingredients cooked into the items and not something you could just wipe off. Our server was understanding when we finally was able to flag him down and bring the errors to his attention. We got our corrected items and it was ok. Sorry, but nothing to jump up and down about. I paid the bill and we departed. One thing my wife and I both noticed was there were several other tables saying they got the wrong orders or their items were incorrect. My family and I always eat out once a month . My son picked Denny's. Walking in there was no host, waitress shouts out "sit anywhere in the back." Of course all the tables are dirty, so we wLked back tothefront and found a clean table. A waitress comes and gives us utenss and menues and leaves. 15 minutes goes by and no one comes by to take our drink and or food order. This a breakfast staple for me! This particular location though was not favorable. I specifically asked the server to request that the veggies for the loaded veggie omelette be cut into smaller pieces and they came back in big chunks. In other locations, my request has been granted. My husband had a Cobb salad with salmon, and the salmon was okay. The Highlight was the Hearty 9 pancakes which were amazingly good! I am a fan of "America's Diner" and even in Miami, which is not part of the rest of the US, they do a good job of making you feel like you could be anywhere in the country. Of course, since I grew up in NJ, I can't in good faith classify Denny's as a true diner, but it hits the spot! I work in the area and have driven past this location on a daily basis, but never eaten there. Larry S. and I had a godawfully early appointment one day this week, so we rewarded ourselves afterwards with an 7:45AM breakfast treat. Larry S. reported that they have renovated this location and it was updated and clean when we walked in. I like the dedicated parking lot, especially useful in Midtown. The waitress was friendly and the service was good; of course, there were very few other patrons in there at that hour. I especially like that they put the calorie counts on the menu. No deluding yourself that peanut butter cup pancakes aren't "that bad" for you. I come to Denny's every few months or so, usually after a very long night of work, when there is nothing else left open, and Denny's is the quickest choice, closest to home. With that said, I was amazed that my favorite waitress, Angie, recognized my husband and I the last time we went.
