Buca di Beppo Thousand Oaks location is welcoming with awesome service by Daisy. We came in for pre Valentines lunch. The place nicely decorated with pictures of Italy and family. We ordered lunch specials to share: fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and chicken parmigiana, both came with Caesar salad and garlic bread. We shared both entrees.. Yum. Company is very dishonest!!!! I've been going here every other week for 15 years and always get five star service. I have a $25.00 e gift card that never expires and I decided to use it today. The employee said the store has new owners and they will not honor the "Best of Italy," $25.00 e gift card. Not the best way to lose a large family as a customer. It's been a long while since I've been to a BDB, and was really looking forward to eating here again. The restaurant has always had a very traditional and Italian feel to it, and it's honestly one of my favorite decorated restaurants. Feels like old New York. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. If you've never been there.. just be aware that all their plates are 'family' style. Meaning... that it is a huge plate for 2-4 people. We had a party of 7, including 4 teenage boys, so we ordered a salad, 3 pasta dishes and one entre... And still had leftovers. Ok, I loooove Italian food, BUT I like it with a more salty and vinegar taste. Everything I tried during this trip tasted a little too sweet for me. The chicken parm and spaghetti especially. The pappardele bolognese was good... but it could've used more sauce and beef. I will definitely give them another try soon, and get a few different things to taste. read more

We had a wonderful experience today with Graciela, from the moment we walked in she was very attentive and warm and so cheerful to talk to! Multiple times during our meal, she'd come up to us with something we hadn't yet thought to ask for. One time it was a drink refill, the second time it was extra dressing, the third it was an extra plate if we wanted to split our pastas so the first plate wasn't super full. I also asked if they had any cherry lemonade and she said they don't but they offered grenadine and so she added it to our lemonade and ice tea and it made it so much better! The ziti was delicious, as was the salad and price wise it was great, especially for a lunch menu. Best time to come was at lunch for us on a weekday, service was personable and quiet. I ordered delivery with Grubhub for my wife and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and received the fettuccine with no chicken at all. My wife got the Lasaña it was very small piece with little meat sauce. It was disappointing, It's too bad because I will probably make it myself the next time. read more

This restaurant has been the go to place for our family for over 15 years. We come here to celebrate family events and are always extremely satisfied with the wonderful Italian cuisine. It just keeps getting better & more tasty, every time we come. I would also very much like to comment on the Manager, "Neelam" as she is always so polite and caring. She even offered to help me out with a little surprise that my daughter made happen by mistake, she poured the whole container of salad dressing over her plate. NEVER AGAIN!!! We get there and nobody's around and nobody is in the front to greet customers. A couple walks out and 10-15 mins later I'm assuming the manager walks to front and asks if just us 2, we say no we are art of a large party, says ok and walks away. Finally most of our party arrives and a señora comes out and greets us and takes us to our table way in the back. There is probably about 5-6 people in restaurant. Our water was already sitting on our table, which I found odd as it's just sitting there. She seats us all, gives us our menus and walks away. Never introduces herself or gives a name. Another person comes to our table and takes drink/food order. He never introduces himself nor give a name. The lady comes back and advises they will be charging $15 to serve the cupcakes that we brought. Ridiculous!! We asked for refills, never brought them, my husband got up to fill our cups, which then the servers came to ask who wanted refills. Food was forgotten, orders were not taken, it was just a hot mess. Food was good but $45 for a bowl of shrimp and pasta is a bit pricey and does not come with anything. Mind you restaurant was NOT busy but could not get good service. You do get a small loaf of bread w/vinegar & oil though. We asked to speak to manager and he never came. Finally on way out hostess went to find manager to let him know about our experience with the shitty service and all he had to say was he's sorry but we were a big party (18), we had 2 servers and no customers by the time we left. Said he heard our complaints and that was it. So again this is just my experience and will not be going back!! read more

Longtime happy customer who just had a bad experience at the Thousand Oaks location. I ordered via the website for a family of 6 with 4 small kids. Placed the order at 4:10 with a pickup time of 5:15. Plenty of time to prep the $230 order of 7 items. I arrived at for pickup 5:15. There was nobody in the lobby. No host and nobody in takeout. 2 customers were waiting in the lobby. there appeared to be no other customers in the entire restaurant. After a few minutes a young woman came out of the kitchen area and greeted me. I gave my name and said I was picking up. She went back to check and advised it would be ready in a few minutes - "they are working on it". Another customer came into the lobby. Again no employees around but after a few minutes, he got his take-out order and left. The other 2 guys waiting in the lobby also eventually got their orders and left. I another customer came in. Again no employees to be seen but eventually the young woman came back up front and the customer received and left with her take out order. The young woman again told me "they are working on it". I asked why it is not ready and she said she did not know. At 5:30, Alex, a tall thin young male employee was walking by and I asked to talk to a manager. No manager ever appeared. But Alex did reappear later to tell me that the restaurant was out of Tiramisu (which was part of my order) and would I like something else. No, Just take it off the bill... I asked Alex for the credit card slip showing that I was credited for the missing Tiramisu. He said it has to be done through the online department and would take a few days. Ok, but I wanted something in writing showing that I didn't get my whole order and that I would be getting a credit. He would didn't up something for me but said the manager would... I asked Alex why it was taking so long and he said that 1 of the cooks called in sick. I can be patient and understanding of a situation like that IF I hadn't placed the order over an hour in advance and well before the normal dinner hour. So no, that excuse loses its validity. At 5:40 the young female employee appeared with 2 bags of food and asked if I wanted help to my car. I said "Lets check the order" and she replied "Its all here". I insisted on going through the order item by item. Well, one item was indeed missing. I again asked for a manager. "I told her and she is coming". Between 5:30 and 5:40 I asked both Alex and the young female employee to please send a manager up to talk to me a no less than 5 times. I was told each time "I think they are coming" or "I told them and they should be here in a minute. I continued to stand in the lobby waiting for the manager for a few more minutes after receiving my food but finally just gave up and left to go feed a very hungry family. read more

I thought it was a small restaurant, but it is actually quite a large size restaurant. I love the Italian vibe it gave off. The ambiance is like your in Italy . It's Mother's Day and it wasn't that busy. We had a 1:30 reservation for 3. The host took our info, then helped 2 other people who had pick up orders. As we were still waiting, a party of 12 walked in. A waitress asked them for help then immediately took them in while we were still waiting. Then the host came back after a total of 10 mins and asked if we need help. I explained that he already asked us and told him again we had 1:30 reservations which is past that time. He sat us down. After 15 mins at the table with no one coming to the table i raised my hand to a waitress who acknowledged me and gestured that she will be right with me. That never happened. At 2pm with no one assisting us at all we got up and left. This has been a repetitive experience for us so we decided this will be our last time. I understand the restaurant business and I am usually very forgiving but there has to be some effort on the restaurant end to try to do better and I just don't see that. Rosa was very delightful, kind and provided great service 10 out of 10 to our familia. We got pictures taken from Andrii which had my mouth watering from his Italian accent and the food. The ambiance awesome. The vibe was 10 out of 10. The food and service was so good our family said " mama Mia' with every bite. My husband watched Goodfellas before we came and brought his inner Godfather. He never turns down a good meal on Mother's Day. Having once taken our children there some years back at the Encino location we thought it would be fun to take our grandchild there and let her experience a bit of nostalgic old school American Italian. The interior hasn't changed and that's great - the old pics like Sophia Lauren, Sinatra etc are great. This location did not have the typical rat pack music playing and if so couldn't hear it. We ordered a single Ziti pasta dish, a kids pizza and two house wines. The pasta was just bad and the pizza as well. When the bill came they had charged for a three person zitti dish versus single dish and it took them 20 minutes to correct the check. Simply put - the place is over. read more
