HORRIBLE, HOW IS DENNYS STILL SERVING PEOPLE? We went there last night and it was a horror movie. The food was disgusting, not even cooked all the day and old. Please see my pictures. We ordered the chicken strips with broccoli & corn and received old steak with gravy, cold in the inside. The corn was super dull and not even yellow. We also ordered kids meals and they were all left by the kids. Lastly, the grapes were old and mushy. How can you not see what you are serving? Denny's YOU NEED TO CLOSE DOWN or do an Audit of your food. I want my money back $53.40 wasted. read more

Went on a Sunday evening at 6:25. It approximately took 10 minutes or longer to even be seen by a hostess. But when we were served the gentleman was very kind. And apologized for the long wait. It was much appreciated that his service was a 10/10. All the food was great. I ate the ultimate grand slam. And my friend the Benedict. I come to this particular Denny's often, the menu is always evolving with creative new dishes that are quite yummy! I always have great service here but Jessica, our server today was exceptionally great! So attentive and goes way above and beyond for her customers! Had breakfast there this morning. The place has lots of room for improvement and the waiter Johnny R. made an effort to fix problems we pointed out. Here are issues I encountered while eating there: - Coffee was first served in a mug that was dirty. I brought it to the server's attention and he did promptly fix. - Coffee was too light in taste and strength. It tasted like drinking hot water. - The menu offered "herbal tea". When asked if they have chamomile tea, we were informed they did not. - Not one but both plates were unusually cold. They did fix the issues, but again this is something the establishment could avoid if more vigilant. In closing, I do not recommend this place and think it will be the only time I visit it. read more

By far the WORST service I have ever experienced in my life! The Waitress Linda maybe spoke 5 words to us the entire time. Brought food with no utensils and after asking twice and waiting 10 min she finally provided eating utensils. Messed up the order, forgot food & brought another tables food to us. When we walked in it was pretty lonely inside after a while more people came in we noticed there was only one waitress handling everything going back & forth. I really think management needs to get it together because why do you guys only have one waitress handling it all from drinks to serving the food & checking people out. She looked pretty stressed out essentially the waitress is losing out on tips because of this even though it's not their fault not so many people are so understanding with these kinds of situations. I did not have any problems with my most recent visit on a weekday morning. I ordered the 55+ omelette and it was the perfect portion size I wanted. Wait staff was very good and checked in at least twice during my meal. It was the perfect place to relax while I was waiting for my car to get serviced nearby. I was at this location which I frequent often. This past Sunday and it was so full. I was afraid I wasn't going to get service fast. But the staff was on target. Our waitress came around more often than usual to make sure we were OK. Our food came very quickly, and the overall experience was one that I was very impressed with. Dennys has it going on now. I would like to say that I wasn't sure where to go to warn others. I normally only ever look at reviews and never make some but what I saw happen last Saturday the 7th at this Denny's made me rethink the review. I was having breakfast with my dad, brother and sister in law. We were all sitting on a table with a full restaurant. From the corner of my eye I saw an older man eating by himself and I remember thinking how nice that looked. Unfortunately, what happened next was nothing that nice. I saw as he got up to leave and slipped hitting both his arm and head. Blood smeared his arm and forehead. Sadly, that's not what shocked me. What I can only guess was the manager is what I believe was the real crime. I could hear her screaming to the servers to get someone to help pick him up. This frail and elderly gentleman who just fell HARD. I stayed close to the scene and I could see one of the girls was close to tears. Not sure what the "manager" was trying to do but she handled it HORRIBLY. Obviously you can't pick someone up that's fallen. We were assured my the lady standing next to him that the ambulance was on the way and we stayed outside in our cars until they arrived. I'm just having a hard time understanding how this lady instead of organizing her crew began berating them. I know if that was my dad my first move would have been 911. So, we placed an order for delivery almost 4 hours ago. The first order was confirmed by DoorDash as delivered to us...but we never received it. I tried to work with the really nice young lady at Dennys to get another ordered placed and redelivered to us. Still no food. I just finished a very nice Grand Slam breakfast. Food was served quickly and it was hot, yummy and prepared as ordered. My server, Johnny R., was friendly and attentive. 4 stars for two reasons... When I first walked in (I was dining alone), a woman behind the counter made eye contact, smiled, and then walked away... We took our grandson to Denny's for the first time this morning. He didn't know what a Dennys is. He does need now. Needless to say he loved It. He got hot cocoa with whipped cream and some great looking chocolate chip pancakes and we got Omelets. He was very happy. I was greeted with such a pleasant surprise, it was PENNY! She uses to be server at the Encinitas location until it closed down. Throughout our dinner experience I noticed Penny working so diligently with all the other tables all by herself and greeting guest and clearing tables. The food it self was quite good for 1am. Eh, it was okay. Busy Saturday morning. Server was less than attentive as he ran around like a headless chicken. As we're all the other employees. The food came to the table pretty quickly though. Order fulfilled. Not really hot, but warm enough to be edible. The hash browns and breakfast meats were super greasy. The bacon was unevenly cooked. Also, there were dirty knife marks on the sliced banana. There weren't even enough syrup dispensers for the tables. They were juggling them from table to table. Seemingly hoping one would finish in time for the next requirement. Though, it never made it to our table for my French toast. Whatever, I'm sweet enough! I definitely prefer the Denny's in Carlsbad. What a great server.! We were at Dennys El Camino Oceanside last week. As we walked in a guy in front was nice , but told us a server would be with us. He was to busy , and his front section looked overwhelming . I do not believe not wanted us in his area. Oh well , because Mrs. Jessica took great care of us and made us feel so welcomed. Older Hispanic male employee opened the door to the female restroom without knocking first or shouting through the door, "is there anybody in here?" This incident occurred during normal open business hours. If his intention was to clean the female restroom then he should always announce himself before opening the door. I live close to this Denny's and don't come as often as I'd like but every time it's always a pleasure. No matter the situation the service is amazing. However, today was a big disappointment. I would have assumed that knowing the storm would be visiting us this location would be better staffed. My husband and I got there and were standing for a hot minute. Which totally understandable since there were many others waiting with us. We got sat in what my husband calls the VIP section meaning the cold side. Our waitress was frazzled but nice. Food was delicious as always. Not sure who owns the franchise or who the manager is but they definitely needed to plan better for this storm. We were seated right away BUT food service was extremely slow, I really don't know what took so long, I almost felt like they forgot our order or gave it to another table by mistake. That's how long it took. We also requested 2 checks and ended it all on one. My coffee was only refilled once. My eggs were great but sausage undercooked or microwaved, couldn't tell. I guess they don't throughly wipe the tables down. Waited almost 10 min to place order. I ordered a side cesar salad. When my salad arrived, the lettuce looked a little wilted and aged. The dressing appeared to be italian. When I asked to confirm, the girl at the counter was chatting away on the phone and had no idea what I was asking of her. I haven't been to Denny's in several years, so either the quality of Denny's in general has gone down or this is quite possibly the worst Denny's in the world. We were running the Ragnar race and decided to eat here because it was close to a stop and there really aren't too many options at 10:30 at night. I could tell as soon as I requested a table for 7 that the manager seemed really overwhelmed. I was told the wait would be about 10 minutes even though the restaurant was less than half full. After we were seated, it took FOREVER for our food to come out. Some of us were literally falling asleep at the table while we waited. When our food did finally come out the first thing I noticed was that the plates were really small, like my food was falling off the edge. Then my friend commented that my sandwich looked burnt. It did seem a little burnt, but I thought maybe it was just the type of bread?? I also didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for new food. I don't think anyone was very happy with their food or the service. Our server was very nice, but he could have done a better job keeping us posted on the status of our food. The manager seemed overwhelmed and had a little attitude. I'm guessing this location must not get a lot of business late at night and they couldn't handle a half full restaurant full of runners.
