Apparently this is a 'grand slamwhich '

I should have checked their rating before ordering. I ordered a grand slamwhich and biscuts n gravy for delivery. I got some club sandwich (w/ avo which i hate!) Hashbrowns and BnG. I scraped the avo and disgustingly wilted lettuce off, but it was still horrible. The BnG (apparently made just 12min before i tried it) was beyond cold, inedible. The only thing that was ok, was the Hashbrowns. Thankfully doordash refunded me, but dear god how could you screw that up!

Servers all acted like they hated their jobs and didn't even smile. Coffee was so burnt tasting I couldn't drink it. Politely asked for another cup it was most likely the same burnt coffee. Waited for a really long time for food to come out. When the food came out it was disappointing. Hash browns were under cooked, biscuits are super flat. Oh yah did I mention the food came out on a plate that wasn't clean? In this economy it's become a treat for many people to eat out and to get this terrible service and food and have to pay for it is just really disappointing to say the least.

The breakfast was ok, not bad. You are safe ordering a breakfast which is available 24 hours per day. The cost is low and service is good when it is not busy. The only problem is it is a little warm inside.

    Slamburger to-go

Hubby and I had late night cravings while visiting friends in Patterson. We called in our order and picked it up right before closing. The lady who helped us was extremely sweet and made check-out such a breeze. She made sure to go through our order in front of us to make sure nothing was missing. When we brought the food home, we were very satisfied with our meals. We both ordered the slamburger. It came with PLENTY of fries ;) The burger itself was delicious and perfectly cooked. All the ingredients worked so well with each other. We both were so satisfied with our meals. I'm sure we will have to pay this place a visit again sometime in the future, as we have been here in the past before. It has always been consistently great.

This visit happened to fall on Mother's Day weekend. We had reservations for both Saturday and Sunday, but we stopped in on Saturday to cancel that day's reservation since we'd already eaten lunch and knew we wouldn't be hungry by dinnertime. On Sunday, when we checked in for our reservation, I was impressed -- the hostess remembered us by name, which says a lot considering how many guests come through the restaurant. We were seated, and soon after we were greeted by Eleanor, our server. She was warm, attentive, and never made us feel pressured, which was a huge improvement from a previous visit. She answered every question I had, including how they cook a medium‑rare steak (every chef has their own interpretation, lol). She also gave an honest answer when I asked whether the vegetables used at dinner come from their greenhouse. The service felt genuine, and the food was excellent -- a much better experience than my last review. This visit was absolutely worth the return. Kudos to Eleanor and the Kitchen at The Mission.

We called about 20 mins in advance on our way from Casa de Fruta (where I could eat nothing). We'd never been there, always stopping for a pit-stop at Pea Soup Anderson's when going through that area. So first of all, the hotel grounds are beautiful, totally unexpected in this middle of nowhere hotel. The outdoor dining area for the restaurant is gorgeous and relaxing. The staff aware all polite and helpful. I had to wait a bit longer than expected but I grabbed the pizzas and took them to the car and was first of all shocked at how beautiful the pizza was. I got the California veggie pizza without mushrooms and added pepperoni, with gluten free crust. My husband got the same but not gluten free. This was one of the best gluten free pizzas I've EVER had. Everything as clearly freshly made. Amazing. Sad it's so far away from where I live! On the way out I checked out prices for the hotel...about 200 bucks a night. Totally reasonable. We'll be back here next time we're heading through this area!

There used to be five different pea soup Andersen's, now this is the last one. The original, near Solvang, had to close because of the condition of the building, just shy of its hundredth birthday. When it is redeveloped, they hope to put a version of the restaurant back in. The place is a lot of fun. They have souvenirs, chatchkis, all kinds of different food items... you can buy the dried peas with a recipe card, or they also sell their soup in a can. . The canned soup tastes just like the restaurant. They have the original, but they also have a canned soup with bacon. The bacon is pulverized, so there are no chunks of it in the soup, but you can definitely taste it. It plays off of the pea soup so well. The soup they sell in the restaurant is made fresh, not canned, . They have a bar, dining room, and a coffee shop. Most people eat in the coffee shop. The coffee shop has a big menu, but of course the star is the pea soup. You can get the "travelers special", which is all you can eat pea soup, with all the fixins, and your choice of beverage, including a milkshake if you want one. The soup they serve in the restaurant, is both vegetarian and vegan, but you can't tell. It is amazingly rich, and creamy. The prices are reasonable and when you check out of the restaurant, they also have cookies, pastries, and even some candies. A nice upsell for dessert. Both the chocolate chip, and the white chocolate macadamia cookies are my favorite.... I'll be back. Thanks.

The Champions Breakfast platter was a great choice for our kids to share. It was one of the better fruit bowls I've seen, with a variety of fresh berries and oranges. The place is pretty small inside, but we were there on a Thursday morning so it was no issue finding a parking spot or a table to sit. I appreciate how kid friendly they are, even bringing kid size water cups with lids, and there are even some children's books on the shelf in the back. I didn't think to order the hollandaise on the side so my bread was totally soggy. The bacon was extremely salty. I'm not sure what brand it was but it was not good to me. I couldn't pick it up to eat it because I was driving. It was already soggy and wet to begin with, not the restaurants fault but I would say I would not order that for a togo order. I've never booked a room here, but we would meet up with our friends from Madera at this hotel since their place is too far for me to drive. Yesterday, I discovered a really cool greenhouse and a charming wine museum I had never seen before. There's no charge to enter the wine room, but you need a key card from the lobby to access it. Additionally, there's a cute, small pet park for furry friends. The hotel also features a pond filled with colorful koi fish and another pond with waterfalls. We spotted an adorable turtle just hanging out with some fake ducks. There are a couple of areas with fire pits, and there's even a rose garden. I found a spot where you can play bocce and horseshoes. The courtyard is definitely fun to explore, and the restaurant's view is fantastic. I also learned about a bar called The Lounge. I tried the food at the Kitchen for breakfast and lunch yesterday. The service was slow on both occasions. We had to wait for ten minutes because the staff member at the desk said the server would return by then. I asked if they could seat us while we waited for her break to finish, but we decided to stay anyway. Regardless, the food was excellent both times, so the restaurant kicks ass even though the service doesn't. There are many places to visit outside the hotel. The Korean Memorial is nearby, but we skipped it yesterday. Instead, we discovered a few parks with trails that offer beautiful views of the hills and the San Luis Reservoir. We also visited the Romero Overlook Visitors Center, where you can learn about the water system and the area's history. I'm sure there are more things to do in the area, but that was all we had time for during our adventure yesterday.

The atmosphere is really the standout feature here. The mansion itself is stunning, elegant without feeling stuffy, with ornate architecture, sweeping staircases, fireplaces, formal dining rooms, outdoor seating areas, and beautifully maintained grounds. It feels somewhere between a historic estate and a wedding venue, which makes brunch feel more like an event than just a meal. There were several seating areas throughout the mansion, and part of the fun was simply walking around and taking in the property. The brunch buffet was genuinely elevated compared to a typical hotel-style brunch. There was a wide variety of offerings and everything we tried was very good. The spread included prime rib, eggs Benedict, roasted vegetables, salads, French toast, assorted side dishes, rolls, scones, and an impressive dessert table with mousses, pastries, chocolate-covered strawberries, and other desserts that looked almost too polished to eat. The buffet struck a nice balance between breakfast and lunch options without feeling repetitive. Service was also strong. Since it's buffet-style, the staff isn't taking entrée orders, but the waitstaff did a very good job keeping drinks filled, bringing silverware, answering questions, and making guests feel comfortable. Mimosas, orange juice, and water were included with the flat brunch price, which helped the experience feel more complete and relaxed rather than transactional. The main reason this stops short of a full 5 stars is that the experience feels slightly more "special occasion venue" than fine dining destination, if that distinction makes sense. But for a Sunday brunch outing, especially with family, celebrations, or out-of-town guests, it's absolutely worth experiencing at least once. A very memorable brunch in a truly unique setting.
