When I arrived at the restaurant there was nobody upfront. I'd probably stood there for at least five minutes before the cook noticed I was standing there and notified the manager. I ordered an omelette and was displeased to find that the ingredients were burnt. I cannot believe the cook plated burnt food. The second omelette was made properly though the cheese wasn't melted. Don't order the gluten free English muffin it's horrible. And I will never order coffee again because it's $3.50!. That is outrageous. And they charge extra to have fruit instead of hashbrowns. So you have to pay extra to be healthy. The wait staff was nice and efficient but having been served burnt food put a damper on my meal. read more

Nope, not lucky, sat with a coffee for over 55 minutes because of the greed of the owner. Asked to speak to him and he gave nothing but excuses. He's restaurant is at full capacity and he has 3 over worked waiters, and only 2, yes TWO cooks because he didn't think he would be busy. $1.99 for two pieces of bread toasted and cut in half, that's one dollar a slice or fifty cents per section for crappy white bread. I take the same trip 5 hours down I-5 and then 5 hours back four to six times a year to visit my family. I used to leave after work on a Friday but now I generally take the day off and go down in the morning. Once I get through the Bay Area traffic I stop someplace off of I-5 to get some breakfast and unfortunately stopped at Denny's this time. I ordered the meat lover's trio breakfast. While I am a fan of meat this breakfast proved to me that I am not in fact a "meat lover". Seriously Denny's don't you think ground beef in the hash browns is a bit over the top? While the breakfast does come with plenty of meat one thing it doesn't come with was bread in any form. It's just not breakfast with out bread to soak up the egg yolk. Denny's if you read this let me tell you something; Breakfast should ALWAYS come with toast! How do you have the nerve to charge me $2 for the toast that should have come with my food already? We have been to this Denny's twice recently as it was across the street where we were staying. The first time my husband loved the spaghetti & meatballs. I had the chicken fried steak-not so good. Returning we both had the spaghetti-but it was not as good as he remembered (despite being hungry). It was not hot-so sent back. Came back moderately hot. The garlic toast was really tasty-toasted, garlic-buttery goodness. The cheese on the side (was it real or not?). It would have been nice on their part to bring more toasts since we gobbled it while waiting on the reheat-but no, they charged $4 for the extra toast. Still our meal was $35 with tip & coffee. Can't complain (only if you ignore the next paragraph where I complain more. Sorry :0) Irena, our server was very nice & helpful. Still, she could have comped the toast. Manager was nice & concerned when we sent food back. Still, no asking if they could do anything else to make us happy (dessert, toast-yeah, I'm stuck on the toast. Which should tell managers how little it would take to make a customer happy. Throw in some toast for heaven's sakes ). Denny's is fine for a pinch. It's not great but it's standard fare. Stopped here to grab actual food on our long drive. There was less than a handful of people when we arrived. We sat down, completely ignored for a while. Waitresses cleaned off 5 tables before coming to us for drinks. By that time we were ready to order but she left immediately after taking the drinks. They then Helped out the ten different tables that they sat down almost immediately. We finally ordered, got our food. The food was good. No one ever checked on us, not once. I didn't get a water refill oh but everyone else did. Besides ordering our drinks and food there was ZERO service. Why would I leave a tip when we were basically ignored. I took my three year old here for breakfast fyesterday & right after getting our food my three year old yelled "eww" and there was a cockroach right next to him. Sat down to have a nice dinner, service was horrible for starters. As I was sitting waiting on my meal, I thought I saw something run across run across the top of the table? I thought I'm just tired, when the waitress finally brought my food, I saw a cockroach run across my toast! Now I started looking around and noticed cockroaches all over the wall next to the booth! I stood up waived for my waitress and expressed my concern! I asked to see a manager, a young lady came and apologized and said it's taken care of. In disbelief I said that's it ? I left pissed off went home and thought hell no! I drove back to Dennys and asked to speak to a real manager who approached me in the main lobby who came with a horrible attitude! I asked how the restaurant could stay open knowing the place was infested with cockroaches? She told me she had repeatedly complained to management, and nothing was done about it. The following day I visited with the main Manager who could not give me any explanation. I then proceeded to call their corporate headquarters. I sent over pictures of the cockroaches and never heard back from anyone! This was a horrible experience only never to be resolved! The food was ok. It's just basic breakfasts food but the service here is awful. My boyfriend and I waited over half an hour for our food. After the server took our order, we never saw her again. We had to ask a random server to check on our food and he had brought it out immediately because IT HAD BEEN SITTING UNDER THE HEAT LAMP for such a long time! It was busy when we came in but but the time we had order most people left. The server then only came over and was being nice when she brought out the check - how convenient. If she didn't need to give us a check, she would have completely forgotten about us. Silverware was stained and dirty. Ask for a cup of hot water and there was coffee and lip stains all over it. I stopped here on my way to Lake Tahoe and it was very busy, but we decided to stop anyway. Well, right from the beginning the hostess Jazhyn was pretty rude, without so much as a smile much less a greeting. I told her I wanted a table for 5 and she proceeded to ask how many kids and I said one. I don't know why she even bothered to ask considering she didn't even bother to give us a booster seat. I walked back to the front and asked her if she could bring me one and she totally ignored me. I had to find someone else who could accommodate me. I agree with the previous reviewer of this particular Denny's. The service here is very good and it is speedy. The waitresses remember us (my co-workers tend to hang out here) and even accommodate our requests for separated checks. Unfortunately, and it's a big minus, the menu is pretty impossible for me to find good food on for an okay price. I'm usually on the lookout for food that has less or no meat. I like a bit of seafood at times. And I do grow weary of ordering side salads as an entreé. Sometimes, a person wants a warm meal! Denny's has a very inexpensive quesadilla right now that is just insanely greasy, so I probably won't order it again. There's a bizarre grilled cheese that has somewhat edible mozzarella cheese sticks stuffed into an inedible American grilled cheese sandwich. I could list the other odd menu items, and the various substitutions that kindly waitresses have allowed me to make. However, I'll spare you! Bottom line: it shouldn't be this hard for anybody to find something to order, but I'm not vegan or prone to allergies. I just like veggies and cheese that isn't plastic-tasting scary-orange American cheese. Since I know we'll keep eating there, I will just stick to the side salad and continue to wonder why Denny's corporate hasn't heard of a tuna melt or grilled cheese that has real cheese on real bread. read more

Expect to wait a long to time to get your order if you decide to eat at this restaurant. Our party had two adults, two children and an infant. It took a while for our orders to be taken after we were seated. Once the order was taken, it took even longer to get our food. People who were seated after us were getting their orders while our hungry party waited and waited and waited. I finally had to ask someone to check on our order. Even then, we waited and waited. The people in the table next to us, who were seated after us, got served before us. I said something to the effect that we had been there before them and that's when the server looked at us, ran back to the kitchen and came running out with our food as we were getting ready to leave. We had ordered french toast for one of the kids and all it was was once slice of bread cut in half with a bowl of grapes. For a seven year old kid. We ended up sharing our food with her and gobbling ours down because we had waited so long and we had to get going. We never got an apology for the excessive wait (about 40 minutes). We only got excuses. We got into Denny's at 12:15 and left close to 2. Lunch should not take that long, especially when you have kids in the party. And the kicker was we ended up paying $54 for a lousy meal and lousy experience. Needless to say, we are never going back. If you are on the road and get off at Patterson to eat, there are plenty of other places to go to. Don't go to Denny's. You'll be sorry. read more

Dennys has improved its game over the last few years. The only place around i can get grits with breakfast, and burgers are good. Chicken noodle soup is large and surprisingly tasty. Oh gosh where do I start with this Denny's. I guess it just depends on the cooks. Either they forgot to give me my Bacon extra crispy or give me Bacon at all. Sausage was still a bit red inside and I detest that. It repulses me. Some servers are great others are not. Sometimes its perfect and sometimes not so perfect. Only go there when nothing else sounds good or is closed. I hate being there when its so full of people.
