I had a great experience tonight. I came in after my late shift and received incredible service and very prompt food. Excellent quality too.

Our server was a nice women named Karen. Poor Karen was serving the whole restaurant by herself which caused us to wait quite a while. We don't blame Karen, she was doing her best. They need more staff because she was doing everything on her own. Not to mention she was definitely in her 60s running around the whole place. We tipped her well. If you come here please request Karen. Also request for management to schedule more staff!!!! read more

It is what it is. If you want an honest breakfast and stick to basics, it's a more than reliable place for eggs, bacon and toast and potatoes. It's when you go for the weird stuff like mexican omlettes or whatever that you'll regret. And you'll regret the calories too which are packed in those items. the food was aight nothing out of the ordinary but the cook was very loud and rude calling me & my mom's names in Spanish, we are Spanish decent of course we know all the bad words!! they were all gathered in front of the window where the cook puts the plates when they are ready to be served talking shit as soon as I walked in the door. like they do not value or appreciate their job or something. the dennys staff at this specific location is not at all like the staff at the San luis obispo or Santa Maria location I'd recommend those over this place cuz they people rhat work here or pretty much dicks. Terrible experience. One waiter for entire restaurant. He brought the wrong drink & then took forever to come back & take our order. When we finally got our food it was cold. We talked to the manager who had our order redone. It was pretty good except that bacon & sausage were still cold. We didn't pay. I doubt we will go back here for awhile. read more

I actually made a yelp account specifically for this. To preface this, I was a manager at a Denny's for five years. I'm a firm believer in tipping. I wasn't greeted. The manager sat me. I was given coffee and asked my order within a minute of sitting down. When I said to management I need about two minutes it turned into 40. First, I waited patiently. I sipped my coffee. Around 10 minutes I started playing some game on my phone. 15 minutes in I realized I was done with my coffee. I tried to flag down a server. Nope. Three people ordered. In the same area as I was. At 25 minutes I finished my coffee and decided to see how long this really would take. As I approached 40, I decided an hour of my life wasn't worth it, and I was draining my phone battery. To my surprise the kid up front couldn't find my order. So, I asked him if I had to pay for the coffee that never got a refill. He looked at me blankly. Then asked if I had anything else, and I politely informed him, "I really wanted to order but never got the chance." More blank stares, and 2.38$ exactly later, I turned and walked away. Will I ever come back? No. That's my tip to you, too. I'll drive 30 minutes to Santa Maria instead. read more

Every year on our trip to Pismo Beach we eat breaksfast here at least once. Well not this year. There was a 20 minute wait for a table. After 10 minutes of being seated no one came to take our drink order so we left. The staff was walking around in a daze..maybe looking for Pokeman? We won't be coming back to this Denny's. We went down the street to Huckleberry's and was seated and waited on within 15 minutes. read more

i was at Denny's very early this morning. I cannot believe on an early Saturday morning there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant. This waitress, whose name is Cinnamon, hustled her tail off! She was amazingly pleasant for the amount of stress she undoubtedly was feeling. Take it from someone that used to work the bar crowd and early morning restaurant shifts, this waitress rocked. Okay let me start off by saying I don't think I have ever given a 1 star rating. My son and I were staying at a near by hotel on a visit to Pismo we decided we wanted to grab some pancakes it was 10:30pm but we checked the hours and it said open 24 hours. So we walked over from our hotel and their were a few people eating in the restaurant however the host said excuse me we are closed!! I was a bit confused as it looked like the kitchen was open and all the lights were on. Anyhow, with that said if they were really "closed" at 10:30pm then the hours posted should not say open 24 hours and the host didn't have to be so rude. Went here on 4/23/19, probably about 9:30 to 10:00 PM. We entered and the host was on a personnel call. We looked at each other while she chose to talk on the phone rather than put them on hold while she seated us. When she finished she took us to an area South of her spot where there was food all over the floor and told us there was kids there before us. After 15 minutes of waiting for anybody we left and went to In and Out and had a great meal. If we are starving, we wont come back here. I like Denny's, they seem pretty healthy with many choices. I luv hash browns and ask them not to use butter. They brought out greasy hash browns with butter. So either they just ignore your requests or they don't know how to make them any other way. Probably won't be back unless for a salad. read more

We love this Denny's, and are always happy to see the Manager Michelle. She is cheerful and always greets us with a smile. On the rare occasion of an unhappy customer, Michelle carries herself with Grace and Dignity, and tries her hardest to resolve the issue and have happy customers at the same time. Michelle and her staff are the reason for the success of this Denny's. Lastly, our server Cinnamon was as wonderful as her name. She is a capable and equipped server well trained in customer service. Horrible place!!! If I could put no star, I would. But it's okay, I'm giving the 1 star to CJ, since he was super nice and smiling all the time. Only thing is since he was waiting on us, he's supposed to follow up on our orders. We're visiting pismo and decided to go to Denny's since it was very late and that's the only one open. We came in around 11, all tired and hungry. We didn't get our food till 1156pm. That was a long wait for a dennys. And there were not a lot of people in there. Half our group of 8 were already passed out on the table for the long wait. And of course it's not the best food but the usual order we get is just really bad at this place. We still ate them coz we're just too hungry to complain and wait even more. My order was the chicken quesadilla and it's so greasy and bland, I tried to eat it but no can do. My husband asked the waitress to switch to maybe half order of nachos so it'll be fast and the waitress was so nice to take it back and say "no problem". So that was nice... until everybody was finished eating and I already paid (with the quesadilla charged on us) and the nachos are still nowhere in sight. We called in CJ to ask about it and this time, I'm about ready to strangle someone (cmon I'm hungry and sleeping on the table). Come to find out, the waitress took the plate back but did not put in the nachos order. What!!!!!!!! CJ was apologetic and had the nachos to go and ready in 3 minutes. Too bad by the time we got back to the hotel, I don't feel like eating anymore and just went to bed. So yeah... such horrible experience. read more

Decided to drive into town yesterday to go to dennys around 11am and the place was crowded. No worries though, usually Sundays are packed. I waited in line to tell the waitress how many were in my party and the person right before me had trouble using their Denny's gift card. The waitress seemed to have trouble figuring out how to use it too so i stepped in to help. All parties were happy and really no conflict was being made until another employee, named Stacy , came to "assist." Stacy seemed quite bothered and just angrilly snatched the gift card out of the cutomers hands and without saying a word to the coworker that she was tarining and went to the back. The other employee then happily helped us to the best of her ability. Then she asked her bratty co worker Stacy to help her with something and in front of me and my party she said "I'm not here to teach you how to do things here, I am only here to assist you." The most stuck up, brattiest employee I've seen in a while. I feel bad for the co worker she was "assisting." Even though the waiter took our name down for thw wait my party and I decided not to stay and go to Coco's because we felt uncomfortable due to Stacy's hostility. We decided to have a family dinner tonight and chose to go to Denny's since it was close and the kids like the food. As soon as we got there we were greeted with an aroma similar to the county dump. As the smell dissipated we were welcomed with a welcome to Denny's that more so came across that we were a bother than a welcome guest. The manager on duty sat us in the back corner by the restroom and brought us our drinks. To describe his personality and the way he treated us, I would have to say it came across as someone who hated their job and talking to people in general. Once we had our drinks our server came by roughly ten minutes later and took our food order, his personality and communication skills were lacking the personality and communication aspect. We waited for refills and someone from the table called the front counter since us waiving the manager and server down didn't do anything. When the Call was made and they explained the situation they were placed on hold for about 5 minutes before hanging up. Some of us ordered a salad with our meal to come first and they never came until the rest of the food came, which was over an hour since we sat. We stated that the salads were no longer wanted as they were meant to be served before the meal. They said since they made them they will be on our bill anyways and continued to say he has 5 tables so there's a wait and that's that. Then told us we ordered the wrong food when they brought out the wrong dish and rolled their eyes as they finally admitted they entered it wrong and we ordered it right. We then asked for refills on our drinks that were empty for 30 mins as well as silverware and the manager rolled their eyes and came back with it. I wanted to be sure they were remaking the correct food and the manager was rude and rushing as we were trying to resolve it. We then decided to just leave and the manager said ok and walked away. As we walked out the employees, which I reluctantly call them, pointed at us and spoke about us in a circle. This was the worst experience at a Denny's that I've ever have and I've been going to various locations for over 30 years. I Even worked at one in High School before joining the Army. To say we are dissatisfied is an understatement. We felt like we were nothing but a bother and not welcomed there. If I could give them negative stars I would. read more

My fiance and I came here on our way back out of town, and although we enjoyed our experience, it was less than ideal. We came on a Friday morning and waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and another 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. This was probably one of the worst Denny's locations I've been to. We stopped here during a road trip to monterrey. There was no one at the welcome desk to seat us. After waiting a few minutes, we were seated. The waiter came to ask for our drink order. He brought those out and we were ready to order. He told us he would be right back, but we waited another 10 min. After ordering, it took 30 min to get our food. We were also missing 2 sets of utensils for our party of 5. My step dad and brother ordered crispy hash browns and they were slightly undercooked. Overall it was a bad experience. Thankfully, I was hungry walking in. Walked into an almost empty restaurant before 730pm. We stood there for 5 minutes without anybody asking us if we needed any help. The few servers they had just kept looking over at us without acknowledging us and just kept going about their business. Like huh I've never had a server argue with me about what I ordered but she lost my ticket anyway so she just let it go. And the bathroom was crawling in bugs and mold. If I could give NO STARS, I would. My family & I came here instead of going to the nearest drive thru bc it was close by and we figured let's sit down and eat before our 3hr drive back home. Boy, oh, boy did we regret it. Although we were sited within mins of entering, the service was super slow. We waited nearly 20mins to get our drinks placed (I knew bc my son watched four short Mickey episodes) and was ready to order but it appears she wasn't. We watched as others around us getting waited by other waitress get they're menu, utensils, and drinks. Our table and the high chair for my child was filthy. I literally had to wipe it down with Clorox wipes (thank God I had them in my bag). & we're not going to speak about the restrooms....yuccckkkk is a kind statement to say the least. Great customer service here! they serve beer. before this i have never seen any Dennys sell beer. none of the ones here in sacramento do i guess. food was good and all our orders were correct. our server was real nice and we were joking around with her and she played along. made our visit more fun. they have alot of things, good things, on their menus that ive never seen at any other dennys. good clean restaurant will probably go here again next time im in Pismo. read more

I have eaten here three times. Once I became ill after eating here so that pretty much did it for me. I will not be going back to this location. Yes I eat at Denny's from time to time, but getting sick for the better part of two days was not what I expected as a part of the deal. read more
