The servers didn't bother to check in on the customers to offer refills or to see if the customers needed anything. The ambiance was confusing. Two different music backgrounds playing. That of the dining room and that of the kitchen. The overall cleanliness was okay. Residue from previous customers was noticeable. My experience at this Dennys location was an absolute hit thanks to the amazing hospitality from my waitress. A young girl named Jane both sat me down and took my order. She brought out my drink within seconds after I told her what I wanted! She was extremely kind and checked on me frequently! She made sure my drink was never empty. Sophia, the server, was rude and immediately told me I had to pay before I even ordered, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. It completely set a negative tone for the visit. The overall atmosphere didn't help either, and the experience just didn't meet basic expectations for customer service. First of all l was born in Port Hueneme (1959) and l have been coming to this particular Denny's since the 70's . I definitely have seen changes throughout the decades. But as of today when I walked in and was greeted by Ryan and he brought my wife and I some cold water. The menu is completely different and it has a variety of new choices . I ordered the super slam because I love breakfast at dinner time. Ryan asked me if I wanted fruit or chocolate chips with my pancakes. Let me tell you that when my food arrived not only was it delicious but the butter was warm and not hard. The hash browns were perfectly cooked and a large portion also. The bacon and sausage with the over medium cooked eggs. The cook Gary made the pancakes fluffy and with the bowl of chocolate chips it melted with the butter kudos to the new management and I will be bringing my family and friends. Don't go if you're alone, you'll be considered invisible by wait staff, even if you flag someone down with both hands and they gesture back, " just a minute," it'll still be another 15 minutes. After a good half hour ( restaurant was almost empty) the mgr finally took my order. Only thing tolerable was the coffee. Scrambled eggs were luke warm, bacon was chewier than jerky, hash browns were salty and greasy, what I'd expected, and it took another half HR of waiting for the check which wasn't cheap by any means, 27 dollars for a pain-in-da-ass breakfast and coffee. It was the Denny's closer to Vineyard. Tear out this piece of unsatisfying dreck and perhaps somebody can open up a soul food restaurant or maybe an upscale fish and steak house, save Oxnard, give the people somewhere worthwhile to dine. The restaurant was hot. We waited 40 minutes to get our food and nobody asked how we were doing or if we needed anything. The hamburgers were overdone. They did not serve us the correct fries. To top off that the restrooms were nasty with blood on one toilet seat and the other toilet had poop on it. Will not be going back to that location again read more

This particular Denny's location doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's quite nice inside. I hadn't been to a Denny's in quite a while, so I decided to try it for a weekday breakfast. The place wasn't very crowded at all, and I found the service to be quite friendly and attentive. Reviewing their menu, it appears that Denny's has really done a lot to make themselves a much more desirable place to eat at. They have an extensive breakfast menu. I had one of the complete breakfasts, and it came with pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. It was way too much food. It could easily have been shared by two people. read more

When a person orders a ''TO GO" order, the front desk person who greets you takes your order. I think that person should learn that the person waiting for their food order gets treated like any other person ordering food. I had to ask 3 different times if my order was ready. Each time they looked at me, like why are you asking me this? I just wanted my food so I could go home. It was a waitress who handed me my meal, not the woman who took my order. On 1/11/2022 at just after 12, I dropped into this Dennys on Ventura Rd. for lunch. I'm not a stranger to Dennys but had not been to this one in a while. I tried their new item "Diner Classic Patty Melt". Excellent! The front desk/server (Monique B) was rude and very unhelpful. She kept me waiting to be seated while she slammed and trashed dirty dishes around. Passing me on two occasions ignoring me. She eventually told me to seat myself. Her face mask was below her nose as she walked about the near-empty Diner. And when she served me lunch she removed the mask from her face completely. I also observed the tables and seating not to have been wiped down, so you know they have not been sanitized per code My summary of the service at this location is: Atrocious. I had a very pleasant surprise this morning when I ordered Eggs Benedict from my local Denny's in Port Hueneme. I am rather picky when it comes to ordering Eggs Benedict, but as I am disabled and a bit lazy on this Friday morning decided to have my breakfast order delivered. I like my eggs a bit runny and have to say that when my order arrived I was surprised to see the eggs were cooked to perfection. The English muffins were not over or under cooked and the ham was thickly cut and tasted real. The sauce had just the right taste and texture. The fruit I ordered apeared fresh and I received a nice amunt of the fruit, again a pleasant surprise. I thought I had also ordered hash browns, but they were not included but not sure I can blame Denny's as I may have made a mistake and replaced the hash browns with the fruit instead of adding. The only negative was that the food was not as hot as I like, but 40 seconds in the mico wave warmed up the warm without making the eggs less runny. Overall I must say I was greatly impressed and very much enjoyed my breakfast and if all of there food selections are as well prepared and cooked as my Eggs Benedict, I will be returning to dine at Denny's more frequently. read more
